Queue Audio Warning

So what about some kind of audio alert to warn you are ready to enter a map you’ve been in queue for? Having one single monitor i’d like to be able to mind my own business on windows, or just step away from the computer, without the fear to lose my spot. I’m kind of surprised nothing like that has already been implemented yet

Portable door! Player housing.

Mad Queen Malafide.7512

Here’s an idea to implement player housing. Players carry a portable magical door, which they can place on any wall in a town or outpost, to claim it as their own. Even houses that have no interior (since a lot of houses in towns are just decoration) can be claimed, but you can only use the door once. You can place your magical door on top of an existing door, or simply place it in an alley as some sort of secret access to your house.

Once the door is placed, it will forever be the entrance to your private home.

Multiple players can claim the same spot as their house, if they want. They can place their door anywhere they like, as long as it is in one of the existing cities. Touching this door takes them to their very own private house, which would be a separate instance.

Players that are in your party are allowed to join you in your home as you enter it, much like joining a story instance or a dungeon.

Each player receives one such portable door for free. And it can only be used once. Players can buy a new portable door from the Gem store if they change their mind.

I know they have been planning, or atleast thinking about, adding in a Guild Hall like in GW1 which would be like your own house, but that’s just not the same as a house of your own you can decorate to your own personal tastes alone. I think it would be fun if they added in an instance that only your character (and people you invited/deemed able to visit) could go to. It would be your own home! You could display trophies, mini pets, weapons, armor, decorations, whatever you could aquire for the home. Maybe even add a vendor in Lion’s Arch you could buy furniture and such from, or gather materials and craft your own. Even dye the furniture to whatever colors you had. Could also have an access to the trading post from inside your house. There could also be different types of houses with maybe a one room apartment for beginners at a low cost, different varying sizes and prices in between, up to a large house almost mansion sized for a high cost. I suppose it would be similar to other games having those options, like EQ2 for example, but they could do it differently, design it to fit GW2 great. I think it would be fun. Maybe even cut back on the amount of people always in Lion’s Arch lol. What do you think? o.o

Likewise. Much as I loved GW1 I’ll never go back.

Even better, maybe down the line, would be to give us the ability to “dismiss” achievements from that list, for when you don’t want to progress an achievement right at that moment but want to see what else you could be doing.

I support this suggestion as well. In fact I think this is the better direction. Make this happen and no other conciderations need be made because the other ones can just be dismissed.

One thing I really liked with the old UI was to see the total Achievement Points earned so far in each Category.
While just a small quality-of-life thing, I think they should add back that counter somewhere on their new UI. Anyone else think the same?

YES! Let’s make this just like every other fantasy setting that way we don’t have to try anything new, ever!

Or, no – and just, no.

If Dwarves were brought back in the right way, maybe, but it’ll be a cold day in the mists before we see elves in Tyria. (though we may see Elvis, I suspect he’s hiding in Lion’s Arch)

There is about a million different cities and areas you can add content to.
LA takes 9 years to load on an SSD these days because of Fractals and Dragon Bash.
Now you add the new Dungeon there as well.

If you want people to visit other areas of you game then add the content there.

Since the Aetherblades are pirates then there is no excuse not to have the dungeon located in Gendarran Fields, Bloodtide Coast or Sparkfly Fen.

LA is the central location that we can get to our bank and tp for free.

Please leave it free of more content.

Divinity’s Reach is a gorgeous city that it’s beauty is wasted and no one actually goes there unless you are currently leveling a human and doing some personal story there.

Use it.

No, Layka is right. Heroes killed the MMO in GW1. I think most of your issues are being adressed with the in game dungeon finder they are a developping. I think that arenanet is doing a great job to promote teamplay over soloplay. The beauty bout GW2 is how it really rewards your for playing with others.

Saving Builds

in Suggestions

UnitedChaos.8364

Please, please, please may a way to save builds.

This has been suggested time and time again, but Guildwars is reluctant to add it. Make a way to save current weapons, armor, utilities, traits, etc. I don’t mind paying the current 3s to retrain your traits. If that’s what it takes, that’s what it takes. At the moment I’m using paint to save pictures of my builds and flipping back and forth to copy what I used.

If you’re confused where you would have store your equipment / weapons, fear not. Say you make a “Build” tab similar to your current bank system or spvp preview equipment if you will. See attachment. Your equipment will be stored in this tab and not in your bank. To remove the item from your “Builds” and back to your inventory it must be removed from all builds. But what if you use the same equipment for a different build? As soon as you use the exact same item twice it becomes, for example, “Shortbow of Accuracy Copy”. If you remove the copy, just the copy is removed from the current build. If the original is removed, it removes any copies from any of your builds. Swapping builds would also display the warning similar to "You are about to change builds. Doing so will cost “x” to retrain your traits." Then display a OK/Cancel box.

You could even turn this into something profitable for Guildwars. For example, you could, by default, grant everyone 3 “build slots” and for 1000 gems add an additional “build slot”. And by “build slot” I mean, similar to mentioned above, a bank row that consists of everything needed for a build.

Guildwars, this is an incredible opportunity for you to add another useful and probably profitable idea to the game. In summary, currently the game lacks a way to save builds. Which forces players either to write on paper, guess, or use other means to remember what they used. Similar to spvp spectator you should be able to allow others to preview your equipment by, say, shift clicking your build.

Thanks. Maybe I’m behind on times and Guildwars has already announced that they will add something different; hopefully, I’m not and others have the same idea. Feel free to leave feedback below.

I love minis, but they are a chore to use them which I think many can agree. Did you die? Well you are gonna have to open your inventory to bring it out again? Load a new map? Well you are just gonna have to open your inventory again.

Why not add the ability for them to persistently stay in the world with you until you dismiss them? Or better yet, why not add a User Interface box for them? Maybe the UI box would allow you to access them from your bank rather than in your inventory much like how you can select a different skill without having to open your Hero Page.

I’m curious to see what other have to say about them? Do you like them, do you hate them, why?

Untouched Legendary weapons

Hello Anet! I’ve had my legendary Meteorlogicus for many months now, and i have noticed you guys were updating legendary weapons back in Jan. However mine never got touched and I am starting to feel neglected for this. I have seen excotic scepters with more effects than my legendary (Immobulus for example), and i do not feel this is correct, and i am finally ready to come out and ask. Is my legendary going to be updated? (Foot steps, perhaps a better animation than guardian tennis balI) have been eagerly waiting this for along time now. Please help me out because like i said i feel neglected… Thank you for taking the time to read my concern and i am hoping you can give me a reply!

Fishing - Concrete Suggestions

in Suggestions

Posted by: Kosmo.5187

Kosmo.5187

Here are some concrete suggestions to how fishing could be implemented.

1) Purchase a Rod from the Gem Store

This will unlock the ability to fish in various locations where water is present. Equipping the rod gives you certain abilities.

2) The Abilities

Once you cast, certain interactions begin to randomly shuffle around in the action bar, depending on what the fish is doing. The quicker your response time at doing the right things in the given situations, the greater your chance of reeling in your catch quickly.

You could also require the mouse to be moved around in a specific pattern or to specific points on the screen. Doing so successfully would perhaps lower the time it takes to reel in your catch as well. In order to avoid flailing, the mouse should perhaps be held over a point for a variable amount of time.

A combination of the two might be fun, so if you do well with keeping your mouse in the correct position, the abilities in your action bar will shuffle slightly slower.

Some fish would require very little interaction, while certain rare fish should be much harder to reel in. This would emulate a quiet experience, with sudden bursts of “huge fish!” moments. The more difficult reels would provide better rewards for the effort.

3) The Items and Rewards

Since this would be a gem store unlock, the items reeled in should not provide an advantage, but rather be an alternate way of getting loot. Fish could be used in recipes that either have buffs similar to existing recipes, or buffs that are unusual but unimportant to the gameplay in terms of progression.

Sometimes other types of loot could drop, perhaps at a similar rate to spending ones time running around farming somewhere. This would make fishing an alternative to huge quantities of monster slaying if one needs a break from Orr, while still costing time.

One could also get Karma. Certain fish could be “events”, for example, comparable to running around and randomly stumbling upon events out in the world.

4) Trophies and the Community

Apart from related achievements and titles, a collection of one’s fish should be kept somewhere, perhaps on a board in the home instance. It would then be a collection game in itself to fish them all up.

Each fishing area could also have a fishing NPC that is responsible for that area. He would have a board stating the largest/rarest fish caught in that area (and who caught it), as well as vendor items like lures. Even if it would be possible to fish in all water locations, each zone could have such a character sitting around somewhere. Talking to these NPCs would also provide clues to where in the world certain really rare fish can be caught.

I’m guessing certain fishing areas would attract multiple people who would then hang out and fish together. The recluse fishermen could choose to pack up their gear and go to more remote locations. There’d probably both be a spirit of competition and a desire to help each other with tips and good locations.

5) Additional Items

There could also be a fisherman’s outfit in the Gem Store. The lures previously described could provide a buff that causes fish to be caught at a slightly higher frequency (or slow down the ability shuffle a little bit). There are many fun options for this particular feature.

Certain bait could be used for a chance to catch certain fish more frequently, allowing one to focus more on desired catches. Perhaps there would also be some secret recipes for special bait that allows one a chance to catch really, really rare fish.

I’d quickly smack down some cold cash for a fishing rod that unlocked this

Think of the possibilities.

Event Bug after patch: No reward, no medal

Hologramx.6402

After today’s patch, I am experiencing two events rewarding nothing at all after completed them. Never seen this before. I don’t remember the first one because I thought it might be my mistake, but when I saw the second one, I am pretty sure that this is a bug. The second one is an event to rescue 4 prisoners from harpies in a village (Tanglerot Hills) in Fields of Ruin. After I brought them to the Ebon Vanguard scouts outside, the scouts talks and the event log on the top right of the screen just vanished! Nothing. No reward, no medal. I was the only one doing the event and rescued all 4 captives. My character is level 48 and it is a level 37ish event.

Please investigate and fix this. It is frustrating to get nothing after spending 20 minutes or more soloing an event.

on top of that we have Guardians running around yelling " YOU SHALL NOT PASS!" every time they cast line of warding ……

Legendary Weapons Change

Well yes, it should be about playing the game rather than using gems, or grinding (something that wasn’t supposed to be in this game). That doesn’t mean it shouldn’t take time, that means the way to acquire a legendary should be rewarding (read “enjoyable”) and relevant to the rest of the gaming experience (suddenly not playing the game anymore isn’t the best way to enjoy the game.)

Legendary Weapons Change

Hi,

I believe everyone knows how to make legendaries now, and this thread is about some changes i would make to it.

First, legendaries are something you have to work hard for, something that needs to be hard to get, something that needs effort, time and skills. Now the way i see things right now is that you only need money, money and money. As everybody knows, legendary precursors are between 200 and 400g in the TP. Unless you are amazing with playing the TP, or you are rich and can afford to buy the gold, this price is nearly impossible to reach by a regular player.

Considering part of the legendary is to buy 2 recipes of 10g each and 100 claws of jormag of 1g, 120g seems like a reasonnable amoung to pay. So, I feel that the extra 300 gold (or the EXTREME luck) you need for the precursor is way too high.

I might be the only one thinking this way, but the Pact token you recieve once you complete the story quests would’ve been a good way to obtain that exotic precursor if you ask me. Other part of the gift that includes money, (because lets face it, 250 of each tier 6 material is not viably farmable) could be change for more skills and time oriented gift such as:
100% dungeon completion: Dungeon Master
completing all jumping puzzle
killing all big bosses in the open world
even a part of sPvP (why not since there is already a WvW part), where you have to earn a certain amount of glory in order to buy a gift, something like 50,000-100,000 seems reasonable.

In summary, I just feel that getting a legendary should be more oriented towards skills and achievements then simply luck and money.

I’m really open to your opinion and wanna see if you share my feelings (even with playing 3hours a day i feel this is not a possible goal). If you feel like telling me to go to hell, well do it! but make sure to tell why.

This game needs a first-person camera!

Holon.4836

Hey,
My suggestion is the reintroduction of the first person camera! During the open beta it was possible to play in first-person, why did you change that?

I really have headache and get sick every time I have to jump somewhere in a crowded cave or even in a building, where the camera hits all the walls and planks! Every time it zooms in, so my own shield (Charr Guardian) hits my face! In many jump puzzles and “vista-jump-actions” I don’t see where I am jumping, because I can’t find a camera angle where I have a free sight on the next object to jump on!

Seriously, I jump around for 10 minutes to find something, and have to take a 40 minutes break because I am dizzy, sick and have headache after it.

So please put first-person camera back to this game! There are no downsides, to have such a camera view and it is very easy to establish!

Thank you,

Holon.
