I believe that just like Braham and Rox weapons, this weapon along with Marjory weapons will likely be available “for a limited time only” on the Gemstore for “direct purchase” (not hidden in RNG boxes).

Sylvari Cultural armor change?!

in Sylvari

Hello

I do…i do really hope this is a bug. I don’t know what has happened but the last patch has messed the dye scheme on sylvari cultural armors. All the time and effort we took on getting our perfect look is gone now.

I try not to rabble about what you are doing wrong with this game. I have tried to defend you many times hoping as the time passes the game gets better. But I cannot stand by when something like this happens.

People have been spending their in-game gold, some of them real world money to get their favorite, unique look. If this change is permanent then it’s bad. you cannot change something that has been good for over a year just like that making it WORSE. I am one of those people that has been playing GW for years (first 1 now 2) and I want to get my character sprite just right so I can be happy with it’s look. Now all the effort is wasted – the same dye has different tint on different parts of the armor, the pattern is completely flipped.

If this is intentional then…. I see a bit of hypocrisy here unfortunately. Kristen Perry stated in a thread, that you cannot alter existing hair styles becasue: “Some folks may have picked the hair style because they loved it as is. To change it for one may change it negatively for another” – source https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/races/sylvari/New-Hair-Cool-but-Disappointed. What you have done here is exactly that. Why do you change something as important as armor after a year without any notice, no consultation when they are needed in a change like that just to please, and i emphasize, VAST MINORITY. I have never heard anyone to be very upset about the lack of glow on some cultural armors – yes some said that they would like it but we LOVED our armors they way they were. Now it’s ruined…

Should this be intentional I guess I’ll be fed up with you for some time. It isn’t about the game which is good and getting better, it’s about your attitude towards players and how your treat them. I won’t be taking out my friend’s recent problems with you about his Guild name (with your arguments being plain silly). The developer – consumer relation is based upon trust. If there isn’t one and you simply don’t care, I am not obliged to show any love. Making a change like this to a character look/design heavy game without letting us know in advance is in my opinion breakage of that trust. Should this be the case – you lost one customer for some time.

I do appreciate your hard work and love for sylvari but this change is for the worse and VAST MAJORITY will admit that. Please if you care about sylvari community, revert that change. Bring us our past looks, please…

However, if this is a bug, please do accept my apologies… but do change it.

Yours sincerely

eMKay

  • edit – I have just read that it was made to make the armors glow. Unfortunately this has further messed my toon – I have a Black skinned, Midnight Sky hair dyed, and Streamlet glowing Female Necro with Mindight Sky, Midnight Ice and Blue Sky Dyes on T3 Light. Not only the pattern has changed but the glow comes from the skin, no even the chosen glow…this is really painful… well I guess ill be getting a break. Don’t get me wrong but I just can’t look at that toon, sorry. I feel really cheated.

To Merge the Personal and Living Stories

This is probably the single best, most well-thought out suggestion for getting the story back on track and making sense that I have ever read. I love the way you formatted it and tied in a lot of the old lore. Your idea of having 5 months of ‘dragonslayer campaign’ followed by 7 months of lore-centric, one-off content is brilliant, and the time capsule is absolutely crucial to allow future players to experience all of the dragon-related content. Sure, they might miss out on some of the one-off content, but at least the meat-and-potatoes, dragon-related content will be permanently accessible.

However, I suggest you dial back just how much of the old lore is expanded on in the first year. Your suggestion covers a lot of things, certainly things I (and I’m sure others) would dearly love to see, but I fear it covers too much, too quickly. Leaving some things till later would give longevity to the game.

Also, your suggested structure of dragon-slaying content, if strictly adhered to, would only permit 5 more years of guaranteed game longevity. Kralkatorrik in 2014, then in no particular order Primordus, Jormag, Bubbles & Mordremoth, 2015 thru 2018. After that there are no more dragons to kill. What then? Perhaps Anet would finally decide to open up Cantha and let us see what has happened there, but I digress. The other big MMO has been around for almost 9 years now and shows no signs of stopping, so getting 6 years total out of GW2 isn’t impossible, but I’d like to see some thought given to what would be done after we run out of dragons to bash.

Overall I love what you’ve done, and I think ArenaNet would be wise to take a long, hard look at it, discuss it with the various leads and directors, and then reply here with their opinions. This is too good a concept to ignore.

Greetings and salutations.

I come to you today with a comment about the Living Story’s direction, though I know those are in abundance these days. What I’d like to do is hopefully a bit different. I would like to describe what the game would need to do in order to smoothly transition back to the war against the dragons. At present, that is impossible due to an incompatibility between players starting the Personal Story and those who have finished it, and conundrum which can be solved in a single sentence.

To make the Living Story flourish, the Pact must be destroyed.

…Bit of an attention getter, I hope. Allow me to spell on the argument; why the personal story has impersonal problems, what the living story is currently doing wrong, how to fix the two to the benefit of both, and what the results could be for an entire year’s worth of content. I can be a bit overly verbose, so I’ve condensed them into four JPG files for easier reading. Feel free to skip through it if it drags on, but please scroll through the NextYear file to consider what the Living Story could become.

Here we go. The Time Capsule method.

Edit: I’ve been adding to this post slowly throughout the thread, including several new campaign possibilities. For the sake of organization, I’ve added them on to this post. If this is your first time reading this, please beware, the last three images will get extremely verbose. Bring a glass of tea.

Solid point there and i kind of agree with you but there is always a but.

Ele signet of restoration is doesnt scale well with healing power and its upon casting, i do have a bit of healing power on mine since i use Celstial set and i heat for about 180 per cast if i m correct. Even then i have to smash the auto attack button to heal up while the war natural and passively heal for 419 while sitting down. Yes elementalist can be support and heal himself and the others, but to be fully effective you need healing power gear and such cut your DPS, also elementalist naturally is the squishiest call of the game ( not bunker build of course). Thief signet of malice is a goond one, the scaling with healing power is good and can trigger on AoE which is awesome but yeat again there is a condition to it, you need to hit someone while the warrior healing signet dont have that “requirement”. I could also compare traits, leeching venoms for example do leech life on hit but it requires the traits, the venom skill and the target to work plus the long cooldown. While adrenal health you just dont pop your busrt.

Swiftness needs to be changed

in Suggestions

Posted by: LoreChief.8391

LoreChief.8391

This is a two-part suggestion.

1. Swiftness needs to change.
2. All classes need access to +25% movement speed without extraordinary limitations.

(Read the longer reasons for justification below at the bottom)

1. Swiftness should have its duration substantially reduced. Instead of providing a +33% movement speed increase (which is barely noticeable while in combat), it instead gives a short-duration burst of speed, +75% at least. The durations will rival that of ‘Haste/Quickness’, making this a fully-functional combat buff that can be adequately taken advantage of by the more spry classes.

2. For Guardian, Warrior & Mesmer, I would suggest adding a signet or altering a current signet to allow for this passive. For Engineers – since they have no signets, I would suggest at least providing a low-level accessible +25% movement trait similar to the ‘One With Air’ that Elementalists get. “for every 5 second out of combat, gain +5% movement speed. Caps at 25%” Good enough for now.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1. Justification for #1, long-story:
Now hear me out on this. Right now most classes have access to +25% movement speed. Swiftness is just 33%, which is 8% faster than the passive. That is not noticeable, and most people with 25% do not strive to use/access swiftness unless they are in a zerging situation.
For my suggested change, I would like to reference a similar, more noticeable ‘kin’ to Swiftness, the boon ‘Quickness’. It used to double action speed, but now is only +50%. My recommendation to swiftness is this; Swiftness is now +75% movement speed. Duration is substantially decreased. Example: Instead of ‘Retreat’ granting 20s of Swiftness, it will now grant 6 seconds. This will make Swiftness a much more noticeable combat boon, not just some half- kitten d attempt at navigating a map slightly faster. This will also mean players are more likely to conserve their Swiftness for combat usage, and an actual advantage to use in combat. It will also enhance the play-style of classes that do traditionally less damage, but focus more on defense (such as Acrobatics Thieves).
2. Justification for #2, long-story:
Right now there are a few classes inconvenienced by their limited mobility.
1. Mesmer: Has no passive movement speed increase aside from one that requires the player to have 3 illusions out. This is nonsensical in its current implementation due to the fact that combat movement speed and combat movement actions (backpeddling, strafing) make the +30% (read: Almost Swiftness) relatively unnoticeable. Also, they do not have access to this movement speed outside of combat.
2. Engineer: Passive movement speed increase either requires specific traits for kit-swapping (does not work for non-kit engi’s), or for them to be in combat (see above about how pointless this is).
3. Guardian: No passive movement speed increase.
4. Warrior: Only while wielding melee. Not the hardest trait to get, but it does not have the capacity to cater to all warriors.
I think its important to note these classes, as 2 of them are the least played classes in the game, and often get complaints that say it is due to their poor mobility (1 & 2). I believe all classes should have access to +25% movement speed, at the cost of a utility slot, if they so choose.
Thanks for reading!
Scepter is still slow as b***s, so no … no real improvements.
I still can’t believe that they changed RTL 3 times because they said that amount of mobility was just wrong … but Warriors and Thieves being able to do with with their weapon skills is just fine.
ANet is just chalk full of hypocrisy.
EDIT: @Gorny, elementalist’s viability in pvp will depend on the nerfs some of the other classes will receive on the 15th. Elementalists at their current state were one of the best pvp professions before the last big balancing path.
I agree that Eles are a fairly good balanced class when it comes to weapon-spells, damage and CC (wrote exactly that in another thread). But I don’t expect Anet to nerf for example those stupid stunlock-warriors (no, they’re even going to buff warriors again). The problem with conditions since the last balance-patch are the new conditions available to Nekros, not that they can spam them permanently or stack them (they could do that before) – I doubt that they’ll remove the new conditions. Condi-Engis for example were hard enemies even before the patch.
But I think the real problem are the core-mechanics of the game. No wonder eles suffer the most due to their low base-HP. Even mesmers are getting destroyed by conditions though they have more HP. Like I stated in another thread: How do you want to seriously balance a game when some classes have only about half the HP of other classes that even have more armor and can deal more damage? I’ve never seen anything like that in another MMORPG. Classes usually have about the same amount of HP to create a base equality between all classes on that you can build on. Little differences in armor and HP (mostly defined through gear) define the playstyle of the class: low armor = usually ranged with either good CC/support or high dps; high armor = melee combat/support, quite good damage if in melee range or good CC. Magical damage (and not conditions that every class has access to) is usually not affected by armor to have more options to balance different classes. That’s how you balance a game. No wonder that Anet fails on PvP in GW – it’s not only difficult but impossible to create balance with the given mechanics. I know that it’s easy to say “do this and do that and everything will be fine”, I know that it’s not that easy – but it’s your job and you’re getting paid for it, so maybe you could try a little harder and at least sometimes listen to what the community has to say.
In every game you have underdog-classes and stronger ones, but in GW since realease we always had one or two classes which were totally OP and one or two that are just plain bad compared to others. That’s what we get from those weird mechanics in Guild Wars: Warriors with best CC, insane damage, most HP, most armor, best 5-heal, better ranged-DPS than an ele, insane mobility and stability. And what’s on the bottom of the food-chain? – Eles with lowest HP, lowest armor, nerfed mobility, nerfed healing, mediocre damage (due to spells missing half of the time) but at least fairly good CC (though nothing compared to warriors or fear-necros).
This game is half-baked when it comes to pvp and ill-conceived in so many aspects. I doubt that there will ever be true balance.
TL:DR: It’s impossible to create balance in GW unless some of the core mechanics are beeing changed.
Seeing as no elementalists were harmed in the making of the last competitive tournament in GW2…I think devs are going to rethink the class.
This is just my opinion, but that was probably the boldest statement the class could make. Not that there was just one…there was just none.
Crafting is:
  • Completely mindless drag and dropping.
  • Mindless searching though a terrible UI for the item you want to craft.
Crafting unfortunately isn’t going away — at least make it so that we only have to click one button to get it over with because the act of crafting (refining, making item parts, discovery) is NOT FUN AT ALL.
A More Visual Mouse Pointer During Battle
During large fights I find my mouse comepletely disapears in the graphics and when a lot of your skills rely on knowing where your mouse is, or if you want to use the fast casting option NOT knowing where your mouse is can (and does usually) end up proving fatal.
I’ve noticed it turns red in a fight but the pointer vanishes completely when you hold right-click to circle-strafe, so you are always having to hunt for it when you release right-click – I am proposing a crosshairs style or an option to change your mouse pointer in combat to make it easier to pick out on screen during battle and an option to keep your mouse visible when using the right-click.
I’m not lost, I know exactly where I am…I just didn’t want to be here right now.
- Increase the cooldown on Rush to 40 seconds, 20 if an enemy is hit. In line with the Elementalist RTL nerf as they are identical skills with different animations. Granted Rush isn’t quite as fast as RTL but I’m sure elementalists would rather have the 20 second CD and a slower skill.
- Remove 1 stun from Hammer. The 3 current ones can be chained for a 6 second stun. I don’t even wanna go into Stun Duration sigils.
- Assuming full adrenaline, decrease the stun duration of Skull Crack to 2 seconds. In line with Earthshaker.
Living World and Lore
in Living World
*I have a real issue with the lore and history in current Living Story
I like that world has it’s history but for now you tend to serve us a tiny bits of informations and getting few lines every month is like reading a book 2 pages a month.
You forget what is it about after 3-6 months. There should be some more feeling to it and it should be more compressed. So we can explore something and get some lore that is like finished and then we can add 1 story to another and make some bigger picture we explore.
Some can say we get that now, but we don’t. We don’t get any real informations.
Just like with molten alliance we newer got any information why it started and why are they still with scarlet. We only know that it happened due her influence.
AetherBlade pirates – We don’t even know what does that name stand for, we don’t know why they work with scarlet, we don’t know anything about her and her plans.
It’s great for developer so they can do anything with scarlet cause they didn’t defined good base for her character, she is an enigma so she can do whatever.
And it it really boring and frustrating. I gave almost up on getting into things and interest in the living story due to how we get story now.
Example: When I herd that Scarlet knows something about Caithie past I limitedly stopped myself to care for that information at all. Why? Because it probably will be like mentioned again 5+ months so getting excited about it of the story will only hurt us. All those little details in the story that was supposed to be interesting is really only boring and frustrating thanks to how much information we get and what all that leads to nothing really.
Now it feels like we are getting like 10 min show with big red info “to be continued next month or maybe later”. It’s no fun at least for me and my guildies.
We really cared for the story but you can’t like that.
I really hope instead of boring story something will finally come from dragons, cause they and they correlation to human gods and all gods in total is way more interesting than some enigma character that can be used in any patch cause she really can do everything. She is insane, right? So she can (even if she is not).
Dragons Story – Another thing the another thing that pains me.
Dragons that were supposed to attack everyone waked up a now they really do nothing. I mean we can see how big the world is in chantry of secrets so Tyria is really small and we have like 40% of Tyrias map, so YES, they can work somewhere else, but they were supposed to be in here. They were supposed to be expanding their lands and gather armies.
I really hopped something would happen anywhere: in Dragonbash… Nothing… Shaterer was not intimidated by seeing his image in the sky… Zephyr Sanctum came with the information that they are caring the will of Glint and I really hopped we will see Crystal Dragon soon…. Maybe some expedition directed to Crystal Desert… Nope that wont happen either, nothing significant wont happen…
Dragons just don’t care that we killed Zaithan (if we did it due the fight was not finished but I don’t care, he is dead for me until they revamp it and finish it properly).
We just defended against one six elder dragons (real strong enemy that can get land mases form the oceans floor) and that’s it, Another dragons don’t care, they have their own lives and if we are becoming stronger and are able to kill one of the that doesn’t bother them at all.
I would say not all of the story is this bad.
Dragonbash story was fun, election was fun. We played for 2 weeks or more and something changed, we got to know some NPCs stories, we got some outcome and something changed. It wasn’t some never ending story that we get server most of the time…
To sum things up.
I want to ask authors so they will start making whole stories, that change the world, not some enigmas that will lure us for months and make us feel like a dog ruining after our own tail. I’m really sick of feeling like whatever I do where is just nothing that changes, and I feel that after countless events around scarlet that really make me sick, cause it’s like: “lets to a living story with dungeon revamp”, “OK, how do we tie that to LS?”, “Scarlet was there, it will be good explanation.”
I’m sorry if I hurt someones feelings
Please let me know what do you think about GW2 Living Story?
I’m actually very happy about Tequatl being harder. I’m in TTS, which is a group of guilds specifically set up to kill Teq daily. It encompasses 4 different guilds completely filled and there are still people wanting in on the action. Every day we fill up 3 or more overflows just with guildmates and kill the beast on each one usually. The rewards are actually good. I got 7 rares last night’s kill along with 2 gold, 14k karma, and 4 champion chests. Maybe you haven’t killed it since the update so you haven’t seen the updated rewards. There’s plenty of reasons to kill it, be it for the challenge, or the rewards, but it’s a fun time for me. Sure, waiting for it to spawn is not the most fun, but there are still people doing this content every day and enjoying it immensely.
Just to clear things up. We don’t have permastealth, if we attack we get a debuff that makes it so we can’t restealth within a period of time. We don’t hit for 15k in PvP situations, unless you count naked level 1s. We have mobility, no mechanic defense. Meaning a Thief has to actively position them self to avoid damage, thus we have mobility. That’s the point. Just so anyone isn’t confused about what a Thief actually does
The debuff is less than 5 seconds.
I have done done duel with on my ele with 2 different thiefs in wvw. One backstab while the other one i believe is P/d. WIth the backstab one more than 50% of the fight he is in stealth, and everytime he pops out of it i lose at least 50% of my health. Several times i had him he simply pop shadow refuge and comes out full health again. How fun.
The P/D fight is less annoying, lots of teleports and hard to land any skill. Fortunately the condition cleaning shaved most of his damage off of me. btw, i dont see why people are complaining about condition removal for ele, i personally thing its just fine. Attune to water+evasive arcana+5 will get rid of 3 condition in less than 3 seconds. If thats not enough pop a earth armor and use ethereal renewal.
Why would you stand there and not attack when he drops shadow refuge? Use AoE attacks on it. He wont stand in the middle unless he’s stupid, so youll have to kind of guess where he is in it and hope you hit him.
Thief is designed pretty stupidly in this game. Worst design for a stealth class ever in any MMO I’ve ever played. In any decent game, stealth has to be used strategically and intelligently for an opening strike, and rarely in very few MMOs are you ever allowed to restealth while in combat. You have to break combat and run away if you want to restealth. And there are usually penalties when in stealth, not benefits like in this game. You usually have reduced movement speed in stealth, but stealth lasts until you first strike. And stealth breaks when you get damaged. That’s how it SHOULD be in this game. The way it’s designed here, isn’t fun for anyone except the person using and abusing it. It’s very high reward for no risk. There’s no intelligent play with it like in other games. You just fart out stealth whenever you want and if you screw up, restealth and try again till you get it right. Too much room for error and no penalties.
I can hit harder with my tanky warrior’s auto attacks than most of ele’s 40+ sec cooldown skills can hit for, so it’s not just people trolling, damage DOES indeed suck. Back in beta we had decent damage, but because idiots didn’t know how to dodge or simply walk out of the giant red circles, since you literally can walk out of them and not get hit because the attacks are so slow and obvious, we took a more than 60% cut to our overall damage on all our skills. So you can thank the terribad clueless noob players who can’t dodge highly telegraphed AoE attacks. We’ve been nerfed repeatedly.
You’ll hear thieves whine about being nerfed horribly since beta as well, but they’re spoiled and have it way easier than us. They went from being able to hit 17k damage on a backstab to 15k. WoW, such a huge nerf! Plus they have permastealth and omgwtfmobility while we have no active defenses or decent means of getting away after repeated nerfs to healing, condition cleansing, and mobility. They have literally nothing to complain about because they’re still ridiculously OP. At most we might be able to hit a 15k with churning earth or firegrab if we have full stacks of might and bloodlust, go full zerker, and our enemy is afk and glassy and doesn’t dodge the obvious attack.
But then we’ll die from a light fart in our direction being built to be that glassy, while a thief can take hidden killer and have 100% crit chance in full cavalier and valkyrie gear, and hit someone with 10k instant backstabs with no cooldown and just hide in stealth if they miss and try again until they do hit you with it. And if you do manage to hit them? I have about 3k armor on my thief in cav/soldier/valkyrie gear and 30 in shadow arts since stupidly the stealth trait also gives toughness. So thieves saying “oh we’re squishy if we can hit that hard and you can kill us easily L2p!” are full of crap and lying through their teeth. you can be tanky as hell and hit like a truck and hide in stealth and try over and over again. Yet we get nerfed repeatedly because people are stupid and cant dodge our obvious not from stealth attacks? I will normally NEVER post any of my builds on forums, but I don’t really care about my thief and never use it anymore so what the hell. Look at this and tell me if this looks squishy to you. http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fYQQNAoYVlYmaPncS6E/5Ex2jeqTiy9wpGtpdFuKA-j0CB4fCiEEAEIQEJgZPFRjtqpIasabYKXAqYLq2aWQ2iWZVKgIGDA-w
Mes vs. Ele
in Guild Wars 2 Discussion
Posted by: DiogoSilva.7089
DiogoSilva.7089
One thing you should know about this forums, is that elementalist players are dramatic. They’re using a profession that requires more skill than most, has been nerfed a few times (so was the mesmer), and fulfill several roles that they do not care about. A mesmer is a more unique profession – whichever role if fulfills, its players usually accept it. But there are those who expect the ele to be the traditional nuke-from-range spellcaster, and whenever it doesn’t fulfill that, or it doesn’t completely fulfill that, they call the entire profession terrible.
I’d say that ele’s playing in pve and wvw is a bit more smooth than mesmer’s. The reason for that is, a mesmer depends too much on AI. In the middle of a zerg or at an event farming spot, you’ll be ale to loot a lot more by using your ele’s aoes than using your mesmer pet’s aoes, as the AI is frail.
But the most important thing is really to try them out. Both professions have very unique mechanics, and there are players that are completely addicted to one or both of them. I personally find ele’s attunement dancing to be very addicting and fun.
Talking exclusively about the staff, ele’s staff is going to be buffed in the next patch. Not all changes are known, but the healing skills will be improved and its weaker earth skill is going to become an awesome cc-skill, especially for wvw.
As an elementalist, you can use staff in many different ways. You can stay at fire and farm in pve or zerg in wvw. Or you can contribute excellent party support or crowd control with your healing, huge amount of combo fields, movement-denial, etc. You can go from using zerker amulet and nuking from afar, to using healing and boon equipment and supporting allies, to a more defensive gear to survive in wvw while still supporting allies and using cc that does not depend on your stats.
The drawback is that you’ll be very frail, and have poor 1v1 effectiveness against players. However, conjures are also getting buffed next patch, and maybe they might solve that problem.
Worth noting that in pve’s dungeons, eles rely on might/ fury stacking and then auto-attacking with lightning hammer.
Regarding a mesmer, their staff skills are strong, and offer excellent (if random) crowd control, party support, utility/ defense and even damage. The problem with staff in pve, is that pve is all about damage, and all about offensive boons, so depending on AI, speccing regen and protection, or teleporting are not as useful as skill-speeding a boss or dodging/ evasion/ blocking. So, it gets overshadowed by, say, the greatsword, which offers might, vulnerability and great damage too.
Mes vs. Ele
I main an ele and i can assure you that ele is definitely not a joke in any part of the game.
I also have a lvl 80 mesmer. And to answer your question then mesmer is very useful in wvw(more so than elementalist). But in wvw their playstyle differs. Mesmer in a zerg is the guy who lays down null fields and makes portals and veils. He is more a supportive rather than combat derived character. Outside of zerg mesmer can be a deadly roamer if played correctly. Staff mesmers clones are better than most other clones he can produce.
Elementalist(staff) in a wvw zerg is on of the best ranged characters you can have. He has long range attacks, big aoe and useful fields. Outside of zerg elementalist can be a good roamer but only with the right builds.
So for zerg wvw their roles are different. For roaming wvw, mesmers have more reliable builds but they both can do it.
As for pve:
Mesmers are sometimes favored to certain paths in dungeons (cof p1, coe p2) for their quickness buff and portal.
Elementalist have more varied role in Pve starting from healing power and cleansing and might stacking to raw damage.
Outside of dungeons i find elementalist easier to play for their out of combat speed(constant speed buff with most of the builds). Also they have more aoe which is crucial in pve.
Again it all comes down to your preferences. Don’t believe people who say one certain class is crap to others.
Nicholas The Traveler
+1 for Nicholas. I actually often joke in GW2 when I see a lot of people gathered in one place by typing “Why so many people here? Is Nicholas somewhere around?” in the chat
Though I would make things a bit more spicy in GW2 by making his successor move constantly over Tyria (even change maps) not just stand in one place. A five minute break every ten-twenty minutes after which he would continue his never ending travel. You know like the guild bounty targets do.
That looks amazing, and I approve entirely!!!
Edit: to expand on your idea, I have attached a photoshopped version that could be used as the “night time” eternity, maybe?
Well you see, the idea I had was that the sword Is imbued with night and day at the same time, so that you did not have to wait for day/night for your favorite look. The sword I painted simply stays as it is in day and night so that the wielder doesn’t feel torn.
If I love GW2, why so bored when I play?
i really doubt the game will stop being boring when the sounds are slightly different every time you shoot an arrow. the game is boring because the combat is stale and repetitive, there are few skills to customize your play style, and the encounters and enemy ai are generally simplistic.
also, as a side note, i often wonder to myself, why bother killing these mobs? there’s nothing in it for me. they are just in my way and they aren’t challenging, just time-consuming.
Over a year and we still can't....
Maybe they are making a new TP interface that lets you buy stuff “as fast as possible”
Couldn’t resist.
If Kralkatorrik offers peace?
Let’s say Kralkatorrik offers the Pact a peace treaty, would you take it?
After the battle against Destiny’s Edge, Kralkatorrik is in a very weakened state. Hence it went into hiding. Trapped in the Crystal Desert, it battled with the forces of Joko, which are much stronger than they were 300 years ago. They also cannot be corrupted because they are already undead. The Branded, while powerful, were no match against Joko’s superior military tactics, and suffered defeat after defeat.
The only way for it to survive was to offer the Pact a peace treaty. Kralkatorrik appeared as a harmless looking little girl, and offered to help the Pact battle against other Elder Dragons. In return, it asks for help against Joko’s forces.
The members of Destiny’s Edge would obviously be against this. However Queen Jennah and others might not feel the same.
“Kralkatorrik, why are you pretending to be human?”
“Because experience with your kind shows that looks matters to you, a great deal. It must be easier to talk with me when I look like this. I and other dragons only see creatures by the magic within them.”
“No way! It killed Glint!”
“Killing is the wrong way to put it. Her existence came from me. I merely re-absorbed the power that I gave her long time ago.”
“No way! It killed Snaff!”
“And he tried to mind control and kill me. I must put down such a serious threat, .”
“No way! It turned so many into the branded!”
“I can transform them back any time. If you want to save the branded, ally yourselves with me. Look.” (transformed a Branded Human back into human)
“Noooooooo my master! Give me back your gifts! I can’t live without you!”
“No. You will never become branded again. I am a dragon of my words.”
“Enough talk! We can kill it right here right now!”
“Don’t be so eager to fight me. Young one. If I wasn’t certain that I can defeat all of you today, I won’t be here. And trust me, I can. But it is moot point. As you know, our magic can never be destroyed. If you by chance kill me, my lieutenant will take over, and this endless cycle continues.”
“Why ally with the Pact? Why not with Joko?”
“Joko is a brilliant trickster, and has always been. The Pact at least have a bit of honour left in them.”
Will this alliance be made?
Is the skill system too simple/boring?
in Guild Wars 2 Discussion
Very much so. In this game with my main I’ve been using the same skill bar that I was using back in Oct. I change them around occasionally then revert and that’s about it. In GW1 my main had my all round build, a few dungeon builds, a build for when someone else was using the same elite as my main, blood is power build for the deep, AB, JQ etc. etc.
Some people say there were too many skills in GW1 but I’m not buying it, they were probably the ones that went straight to Ursan and Permasin. I was always trying out new builds with unused skills. Even when I asked others for their builds they would sometimes have a skill in there I wouldn’t have thought of combining the way they had. Then I’d try tweaking and improving on it with different skills than what they had used. In this game it’s just pick the best from your tiny supply and your set for the rest of your GW2 life on that toon. It’s sad when you compare the two
