Conversely, normalize all gear to exotic level within WvW.
However, that said, I do not approve of this idea. Ascended items adds a very, very small amount of vertical progression. Without vertical progression of some sort, you will start bleeding players who yearn for tangible rewards. Ascended weapons (and armor) should be the last tier of gear they introduced. While the possibility for new tiers exist, they seem sincere in regards to keeping ascended the end-game item status.
calm down people, it might change depending on time of the day or something like that. We dont know yet.

I’m glad someone agrees . The best part is that these tracks already exist and only need to be hooked up to play in those respective cities. No need to compose new music or anything like that.
It is a mini booster so the duration makes sense. Being bound to the first character you log into for the day doesn’t.
Oh, there is no question that almost everyone would enjoy new modes. But Anet appears to be totally against it currently.
Adding pretty much anything to SPvP to create mode options would be great.
I think 1v1 and 2v2 would work because there are a lot of people who are fans okitten g of the hill servers(for some reason it filters to kitten) and I know my guild has created a few 1v1 2v2 events that made PvErs come and have fun.
Anything that can break the mold of conquest would really boost the SPvP part of the game and more people would have a reason to come and enjoy it.
Nothing special and spectacular is needed, just throw some small arenas with a little bit of terrain and let people have fun fighting others in a combination of 2 or solo. It is just great and we need it.

a rankingsystem like in WoW for 2v2 Teams would be very nice….
U can Create your Team and start with a Teamranking 0…..
+10points for win -10points for loss….
easy to made
Copied from what I posted in another thread with a similar topic:
What they need to do is lose hotjoin and make:
Ranked TPvP Require rank 15. 50 glory for a loss, 250 for a win.
Unranked TPvP (this is where you go if you’re a nublet) 0 glory for a loss, 150 for a win.
2v2 Arena
1v1 Arena (Because solo play should always be an option, and it’d be highly popular since every class has 1v1 builds.)
Outcome: The pvp crowd is more together, and there are more options/modes, not 3 copies of the same thing (hotjoin, solo q, team que)

Dear Anet,
pls take the Arena from Crab Toss Minigame ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8pFjVonB0T4 ) and Add a simple Deathmatch System for 1 and 2 PlayerTeams.
How much work did u have to spend on that?
I think u Guys have a exra Team for sPVP?
What did they do? Drawing new Minimaps?
EDIT: Think on the Gamers who only play GW2 with 1 or 2 Friends… They dont want to create 5Man Teams!

First I dont think we ever kill the dragons..they just decide to leave. I also very much agree that the encounters are disappointing after the initial encounter. There seems to be no strategy to fighting them and I can just set my character to auto attack and walk away. The Dragons should move and jump around not just where they are standing but in a huge area around the map. I should have to chase after them and be trampled by them…etc. The rewards on the dragons are also very disappointing and the only reason I have bothered to fight them is to see if I could get a precursor drop. After doing that 100+ times I dont even care anymore. GW2 drop rate is soo horrible that it ruins its own content! Arenanet needs to re-evaluate its concept of reward. I would be happier if I was guarenteed to get a precursor from a dragon, or any boss for that matter, even if I had a counter and had to kill that boss 100 times to get it. I NEED to know that I am making progress otherwise I feel as if I am wasting my time. Content like this ceases to be fun after doing it 10 or 20 times; Then I am just grinding!
In my opinion, Tequatl the Sunless is too easy to kill for be a champion of Zaithan, people just go below him and start attack unless the dragon die, it’s boring and too easy.
It would be a good idea to make the fight similar to that of versus the Claw of Jormag with environmental weapons; players should weaken Tequatl with Asura Towers and Hylek guns before attack him with normal skills (in a similar way with the Claw and the Pact weapons). This would make the fight more competive and amazing (imho of course).
ps: sorry for my bad grammar.
Yes, it’s too easy—as are all of the dragon battles.
The bigger problem is that the encounters themselves are lackluster—after the inital entry of the dragons, which are quite amazingly cool actually.
From everything that people have said about them, it doesn’t seem like the Elder Dragons are exactly military-minded. They’re like bad weather, just sort of a natural thing that goes about destroying as it moves.
Who knows what the other dragons are up to.
I think some of them are still sleeping.
For all I care they can stay in bed if the fights with zaithan was an indication.
Let them have human like avatars or something fun to fight. Imo dragons make very bad foes in a game.
What you said ? I bought that game for fighting JORMAG !!! And others too…
Wait… So the Living World is actually distracting us from the initial threat and years worth of lore/content arena net has laying around?
I want more elder dragon content, that said, the Zhaitan fight was probably the most anticlimactic in my MMO history. The players didn’t beat him, the armada of gimmicky technology did.
I remember something about them being a threat, but it seems they’ve pretty much disappeared as even a minor concern.
The world keeps moving….every two weeks but no dwagons, so they must be dead.
They have so much backlog of available lore that could be translated into this, instead, we have 2+ holiday events per month.
All the remaining dragons, the two we haven’t seen lieutenants of specifically, the nightmare court, the blood legion, titans that were never eradicated, vengeful ancient gods, Palawa Joko, the region north east of Vabbi that we never got to see in GW1, the portions of Cantha and Tyria beyond the barrier mountains. Sorry, but I don’t buy the ‘burning through content too fast’ arguement, they have so much available for use, and are there really only three continents, they have plenty of creative minds on staff, let them be used.
I should also mention that the Grove seems to have the same issues. It doesn’t seem to have its own unique theme and plays only a bunch of unrelated tracks that don’t really match the setting of the city.
For reference, this was labelled as the Grove’s theme but never actually plays in the city. Imagine how much a track like this would add to the feeling of walking around the city. As with Rata Sum, please consider adding unique music tracks to these capital cities.
Does anybody else find the musical atmosphere in Rata Sum to be a bit lacking? It only seems to play generic music tracks that you hear in several other zones and doesn’t really have its own unique theme song (like you hear when you first enter Divinity’s Reach or Hoelbrak).
I’d always thought “Snaff’s Workshop” would be a perfect fit as Rata Sum’s main track, and it is a shame this brilliant piece isn’t being utilized. I’ve even seen this track labelled as Rata Sum’s theme previously, and I was disappointed to find out it didn’t play at all when I first visited the city.
Dragons?
GW2 has dragons?
I don’t believe you…such a terrible lie.
I wont worry until it gets to this

I would really love it if people would stop trying to cram GW2 into their idea of what fantasy or sci-fi is and just let them tell a story and enjoy the ride.
IMO, GW2 is refreshing and does a great job of mixing both traditional fantasy with steampunk culture. It’s unique and fun and finally something new after years of the same ol’ thing.
I think we’re still pretty firmly in fantasy territory here. No real attempt at consistency or scientific foundation is being made for the technology in this game.
Yes, it isn’t your straight forward Tolkien-derivative fantasy, but after decades of reading that I enjoy the mixing of other elements into what seems to be a loosely European Renaissance culture. Trends in fantasy in general over the last decade or so seem to point to the same being true of writers and the general fantasy audience.
Read through some of the World Fantasy Award novels of recent years, for example, and you’ll run into a lot of industrial revolution type fantasy. China Mieville comes to mind as an author who’s work has repeatedly appeared on awards lists with his dark, industrial, magical novels.
If I look at the things that are most intriguing to me in GW2, they aren’t the high fantasy elements. I find the elder dragons kinda dull, the human gods uninspiring. I do enjoy the Asuran unreliable, weird-science, the Zephyrites air ship, and have been getting a kick out of Aetherblade ships around the world.
I find villains with ambitions more compelling than the high fantasy typical dark-horde made up of dragon minions.
I do enjoy the Sylvari, with their roots in Arthurian and Faery lore, with an unusual twist of the Mother Tree and the Dream.
yeah I’m not to impressed. They hype up a lot of things then, nothing happens. I was really disappointed that the hot air balloons didn’t actually take you a vista ride, its really a shame they cut corners on cool stuff and put more emphasis on running around in a huge mob or grind out for a mini. However I must say I was a fan of the gauntlet.
Kiels rewards were kinda crap compared to evons.
If Evon would’ve won we would have seen something more / new about ABADDON.
Seriously evons rewards were a lot better than Kiels. And who cares about the Lion archs meaningless shallow politics.
It’s all about the rewards in my opinion.
I believe people who voted for Kiel hadn’t even read the website update of what the rewards would be, Evons rewards were better I mean comeone, it’s Abaddon stuff!
May or may not be offtopic, but I actually really like the styles of the new composers more than Jeremy Soule.
That isn’t to criticize Mr. Soule, but Stan LePard made the SOUTHSUN COVE theme! Respect!++++
I managed to find the names on Arenanet’s soundcloud. It seems like there are three people mainly composing atm: Leif Chappelle, Maclaine Diemer and Stan LePard. Labyrinthine Cliffs and Sanctum Sprint are by Leif Chappelle, and the Dragon Bash March is by Maclaine Diemer. Hope this helps! I’m also sad that Jeremy Soule won’t write more music for GW2, but at the same time I find it fun getting to know the style of these new composers (especially since the music has been great!).
Meteorlogicus Suggestions:
General ideas:
-Increased chance of environmental weather effects.
-Floating “star” particles added to various moves. Similar to the blue dots that several Guardian moves spew out.
-Can apply different effects for Swiftness than default, such as some floating stars/clouds in a trail behind someone with swiftness. This works for all classes.
-Cloud footprints gets thrown around a lot. I’m not a fan.
Main Effect:
-A Ray of Light, as if from the heavens, can replace spell effects for several of the scepter wielding classes. This could be similar to the effect that appears above the carrier in the new Crab guild challenge. A more transparent and blue one, with visible stars, would suit this legendary better.
Elementalist
-Dragon’s Tooth replaced with Ray of Light. Perhaps a piece of Moon Rock descends downwards from within it… or the ray of light charges up and then explodes.
Other ideas:
-Change all fire to a blue-white/sunlight colored… with some floating star particles. Maybe a bit too much.
-Change Earth 2 to coat the wearer in pieces of whiteish moon rock rather than normal rock.
-Water 3 no longer becomes a Trident—the scepter glows brightly instead.
-Earth 3 changes color to be whiter/with stars.
Guardian:
-Scepter 2 becomes a Ray of Light beaming down from the heavens—like the effect that appears above the carrier in the new Crab guild challenge.
-Scepter 3 could bind the enemy with Stars/clouds instead.
Mesmer
-I am unfamiliar with Mesmer moves. Sorry.
Necromancer:
-Effects aren’t really going to suit the class, but nor does this legendary.
“Grasping Dead”—uses Ray of Light like Guardian 2 move. Instead of hands of the dead, could be blue-ish spirits reaching up from the underworld.
-1 move does a flash of stars instead of a flash of blood.

The game need a “Duel” option, so we can challenge our friends in our own world, Just add a “Duel” option, so we can accept or decline a fight with anyone in the world, just for fun.
