Limited time items spur impulse purchases. It’s a real Thing.

Because we can’t be angry about both?
I for one are very happy the way it is now. Its exactly the way they say it was going to be no worrying about checking every 5 min to see what achivement you need to do. Now i know you hardcore wvw players would disagree with me which is fine but if you enjoy wvw and do it for fun why worry about the achievments at all. Just ignore em and have fun.
That’s not why I’m mad at these achievements. A lot of servers, Mag included, NEED that influx of PvE players going for the Meta to give us a fighting chance the first week or two. Now we lost that, because the PvE players didn’t want that.
That’s whats inexcusable to me. I work hard and try to basically do what I can, and so do the other 15-20 people on Mag WvW. But those hundreds in PvE will pop into EoTM, do 5 events and get the karma and maybe a level, and then pop out. Yet the rewards are the same?
Is it really just 5 events?
Oh God… that is sad, saw it here as well.

I found it odd that it said 5 WvW events…..that’s……what?
I was trolling around in Edge of the Mists while watching something with my girlfriend and I got the achievements after like 20 minutes aswell…What is going on? xD
I just completed the first week tournament achievement after about 10 minutes playing Edge of the Mists and I am really disappointed. The last time you have to actually put a lot of time and effort to complete the meta achievement and it felt somewhat like an accomplishment. I was proud that I did it and glad to have somethings (like the title and the golden doyak finisher) only dedicated wvw players had. Now it means nothing. Everybody with couple of minutes to spare could and probably would do it.
Dear god, i don’t miss this boss.
Marionette was actually the prototype of what is wrong with GW2.
Mass zerking in general is no fun for people over the age of 12
What I liked was that is wasn’t that much zerging as todays bosses, the 5 lanes split the zerg into 5 smaller one. and in the small arena you went with 4-5 people.
(edited by Dayra.7405)
It was an excellent boss, in fact the most fun i have had vs a boss in the game to date. The difficulty level was spot on for the number of players involved at the time.
It would be great to see it back…maybe the inquest could get hold of it as a reason to exist. Kudos to the team who designed her.
I enjoyed organizing it. And I am way older than 12.
Does anybody else miss this boss? I know lore wise it doesn’t make sense for it to return, but I feel that it is such a shame as the mechanics were beautiful. It wasn’t super easy (like Shatterer, or Shadow Behemoth), but wasn’t hard (like Teq or Triple Trouble). I thought it was the perfect middle ground.
Frankly I’d love to see a world boss like this added in to the rotation. I’d also love the actual marionette to come back as a Fractal, but that would take some major reworks to function as a 5 man team (but would be a great addition I think).
What are your thoughts?
Ok .. i have to say it .. even since it seems everyone hated LS1 and likes LS2 more.
Personally i must say : I miss the LS1
I really have not much interest to play these instances more than once .. heck i
have even to force me playing them once because of all these overlong fights.
Don’t know .. but all in all i think i spent much more time on LS1 than on LS2.
I somehow like it much more to play in the open World than soloing an instance
and i really really hate these overlong fights. And in the last part we got even 2 of them.
I mean .. 10 minutes or so for a solo fight ? Heck people do complete dungeons in
that time. Worldbosses go down faster.
When people constantly ask for challenge .. i don’t think anyone of them wanted
something like that. Its not even a challenge at all if you can die and just revive
yourself at the same spot and continue the fight without the boss getting resetted.
Best MMOs are the ones that never make it. Therefore Stargate Online wins.
Only Marionette. I lived there!
Would you like some hard cheeze with your sad whine?
Only Marionette. I lived there!
You are not alone. I commanded marionette 6 times per day, daily, for weeks… i miss her
. PUT IT BACK, ANET, PUT IT BACK!!! (Sorry, i couldn’t help myself xD).
I also believe the area beneath divinity reach should be open for all the players as permanent content. We could teach our newbies guildies how to fight properly in the Solo arenas above it (but please remove the ticket costs for it).

Hi All,
We will starting a CDI soon on…….Guilds.
It will be broken down into time boxed discussion sections such as Guild vs. Guild, Guild Activities, Managing Guilds, Guild Content etc.
I will update when I have more details on when we start. I am very much looking forward to it.
Chris
I just got an Idea how you could solve this. (I don’t know if it’s possible to code this though :/ )
When a party starts a dungeon the new system I suggest will save this party. If the whole group is replaced by new players the instance will close.
Example:
- Players A, B, C, D and E open a dungeon.
The game saves the instance openers.
Players A-D leave.
Player E invites new players (A²-D²) // still fine because we have at least player E who was in the party when the dungeon was opened
Dungeon finished -> everyone is happy. - Players A, B, C, D and E open a dungeon.
The game saves the instance openers.
Players A-D leave.
Player E invites new players (A²-D²)
Players A² and B² kick player E. // last member of the original group is kicked
Instance will be closed.
That means that you cannot replace the whole party.
Advantages:
- players won’t be able to completly steal dungeons
- solo dungeons will still be possible to sell because the system only saved a single name that keeps the instance open.

I love hearing things like this
That indeed was a very kind act.
Aside from a few bad apples, this is truly one of the best MMO’s communities I’ve played alongside with.
Earlier I made a post asking how long the Marjory weapons would be for sale, as I do not have the money at the moment to purchase them. When I logged in to my account, a complete and total stranger had gifted BOTH the axe and the dagger to my account!! I can not begin to thank this person enough. This act of selflessness has entirely restored my faith in this community. I plan to play this person back the gems as soon as I can, as well as pay it forward to the next person who can’t afford a limited item. Thank you!!! A little bit of kindness can go a very long way.
Temporary content is…..wait for it…. content.
They keyword you’re ignoring is in fact “content.” If it wasn’t content it wouldn’t be called “content.” Temporary or otherwise. Temporary simply describes the type of content it is. Ie – limited time. We also have recurring content. It’s still content, it just only returns during set periods – like Halloween or Wintersday. Then you have permanent content which is “always on” so to speak.
It’s all content. Stop saying it isn’t, just because it’s not your preferred type of content.
hello, i’ll start to the point, i was running eotm(overflow) as frostreach, my zerg was lead by someone nick named kimberly blabla, after she capped tytone she was asking for another tag to replace, because of no one tagged up i decided to tag up and lead my zerg to statuary then to eastern altar gate( i decided that because i see orange sword at BL keep, or let me say OG was there) and when my zerg was ramming the gate the OG zerg not finished their job at BL keep but they just run toward my zerg and wiped my zerg, and after that when i was about to continue my run from FR zone i got whispered by someone(maybe gw2 staff) he has name ‘Banbot’ he said that i was reported for doing a setuped match there…
my fact :
- im not in any voice chat
- my guild tag the time i represent was only me as a member( this is my private tag )
- im grouping with random FR dudes
- im not whispering anyone while im tagging up that time
thank you for that random dude who reported me,
i hope if that ‘Banbot’ guy is real staff and i’m not guilty the one that reported me should punished
sorry for the bad english
thank you

Disrespectful people upvoting a disrespectful post isn’t something to be proud of. If you have a point to make, do it respectfully. We are trying to have a constructive discourse on the path of this game.

Anything we want, anyway.
More LS I’m sure – but it won’t open any new maps or dungeons, or anything else people want.
You mean like how Dry Top is a new map that is part of LS?
And we all know what will happen if this level of toxicity remains. Hello Dev Silence.
If a pair of vocal posters are enough to shut down an entire customer communication initiative, then…
…I honestly don’t know what to say.
Well the problem here is: This pair of vocal posters is loud enough to be heared everywhere. And I have seen some crapstorms here and they were insane. The SAB2 storm was insane enough to make its creator feeld bad about SAB. Teq was one giant crapstorm, AFTER ONE ENCOUNTER. Devs only need to stumble a bit in their posts or interviews to initiate a crapstorm.
The amount of rage and hostility is bad enough that other places call this forum a wretched hive of scum and villainy. Well this isn’t true but the playerbase in this forum has a really bad reputation, bad enough for others to say such things. But we can also do better like being more constructive and critisize without rage.
The fact is. You only need a small minority to destroy things that we love. It happened in the past with other games and other stuff. This minority only has to be loud enough to do such harm.
I think there’s a disconnect between what content we get, and what content players feel they should be getting. If you’re asking the question “has there been content?” then the answer is, of course, yes.
If you’re asking “does the scope of the content we’ve received match what we received in GW1?” then the answer is very far from yes.

Most of the items you listed off that aren’t in this update are because they are content. This is not a content update, this is a feature pack. Content updates usually, but not exclusively, take the forum of living world updates or festivals.
And the items you listed in feature pack aren’t feature…. are fix or improvement to old feature and you know that… but hey gemstore is always open…
In a far far island there are kurt cobain , jimy endrix , scavenger precursor , ladder&league and new type of pvp , guild housing ecc….
You mean a commander tag that’s account bound and in colors isn’t a feature? Tricks aren’t a feature? A new specialization in WvW isn’t a feature. Because those look like features to me.
Of course Tournaments are also features.
What they aren’t really is content. That’s good since this is a feature patch.
As far as the tournament being a joke, or a distraction? Again that is personal opinion, and, as you yourself said, an extreamly biased one at that.
It’s the common opinion amongst serious WvW players; if you actively played in WvW every week or at least visited the WvW sub-forum from time to time, at least that much would become clear to you.
You only perceive my thoughts as biased because you don’t agree with them.
I do not see your thoughts as biased because I disagree with them. I call them biased because of whatever filter/point of view you are coming from, while may have its merits, is one that the game is failing, that people are leaving, that people don’t like what Anet is doing, and everything they work on and release is done to placate an angry mob, and so on and so forth.
You are/were expecting more from this game then it intended to offer, and by all rights, are disappointed and disenchanted with it. But I have a feeling that even if Anet were to cater to your, and everyone elses, thoughts on what should be released, and more content, you (speaking generally, not you specifically) would still not be happy with it because “they should have come out with X profession instead of Y!” Why did we get this map, instead of that one?". These same type of people will never be happy with anything that gets released, because thats just how they are. They have a romantic idea of how it should be, and when it can’t or won’t meet that perfect image in their minds, they will always feel disappointed and unhappy.
It’s the chain I beat you with until you
recognize my command!”
It only shows that your statement appeal to a certain group of people, and it in no way shows that your statement appeals to everyone.
That’s the point.
Just as there are those that are 100% happy with the direction that ANet has gone with their development of GW2, there are others who feel like they’re not delivering on meaningful content.
Doesn’t mean they are delivering no content at all.
Tell that to the people who keep upvoting me.
Doesn’t mean much in the end, since there is no downvoting in these forums that I know of. It only shows that your statement appeal to a certain group of people, and it in no way shows that your statement appeals to everyone.
2 years is a long time for an MMO not to release anything.
I think you are mistaken. We have released content and features in the last two years on a fairly regular basis. Just because the content and/or features were things that you personally did not particularly care for doesn’t mean we didn’t release anything.
Please don’t trivialize the efforts of our design and development staff down to “nothing” because you didn’t like it. It’s fine to comment that you didn’t care for what was released, but don’t pretend like we’ve done nothing here for the past two years.
I’ve been saying this for so long. Thank you, Mark. THANK YOU! I have loved a ton of what ANet has put out over the last few years. You guys really have that QoL Thing down, and some of the awesome festivals and rewards. I cant’ get over it. I genuinely appreciate all your efforts.
ps. I so want this as my signature now, lol.

Looks at WvW
Two WvW tourneys, WvW skill progression paths, Competitive and casual WvW rewards, new score mechanic added to the existing map, new map added.
Looks at sPvP
Three new maps added, 48 new traits, eight new skills, two major reorganizations of matchmaking and tourneys and many smaller ones.
Looks at precursor crafting
Given, but this is more of a case about having spoken about a feature way too soon.
Looks at official GvG game-mode
They never made any indication they were going to add GvG, your expectations not being met does not show a lack of work on their part.
Looks at guild capes and guild halls
Same as above, they have never indicated they were going to add either of these features.
Looks at new zones and dungeons
A new dungeon, with dozens of paths, four paths added to existing dungeons. A major overhaul of dungeon rewards. And they’ve added two new zones as well as smaller areas to four existing zones.
Looks at new weapon, utility, and elite skills
They stated new weapon, utility, and elite skills would be a long way off. Your impatience, is your own fault.
Looks at slow and almost non-existent balance updates
So, in your mind, slow, means nothing? You need to get yourself a dictionary kid.
Tell that to the people who keep upvoting me.
There’s no downvote button there diva.
