Happened yesterday to me as well. I thought I was just lagging, but I guess it’s more common than just me.
The first bucket was just fine. Every bucket afterwards had no sound and no animation, but the boss was affected normally. I was operating the buckets.
This problem still persists, and considering there is less than a week left of the event, it’s becoming a problem.

This bug started since the patch that added new enemies.
Support NPCs do nothing, and enemies ignore them; plus new spawns of enemies mislabeled “Veteran”:

This bug started since the patch that added new enemies.
The ones that follow you into the water are probably the bugged ones that have nearly infinite aggro range, are ignored by support NPCs, and persist even after the event is over. They’re outright bugged.
It’s also a bug with the Human T3 shoulderpads. The inner part of the shoulderpads are undyable and permanently red.
It seems that this is a common occurrence with pieces of armor being undyably red.
I’m not sure you understand what the word “achiement” means. ArenaNet should reward skill more than they do, not less.
Is it “skill” that people were able to complete the achievement before they made it more difficult?
Is it still an achievement at that point?
To quote you: "I’m not sure you understand what the word “achiement” [sic] means."
It’s not fixed. The two newly added vets are bugged in that they have an extended aggro range, are ignored by friendly NPCs, and do not go away after the event is over. They clearly don’t belong.
Before, it was too easy. Now, the added bugged enemies.
In Candidate Trials Tier 4 for both Evon and Kiel, two vets will spawn and chase you around. The support NPCs that should be helping you tend to complete ignore these vets, and the vets persist even after the event is over.
After the event is over, whether success or fail, these vets will continue to attack you and refuse to break aggro anywhere.
I understand that it was a problem that people were soloing T4 candidate trials, but putting in bugged enemies is a heavy punishment for people that didn’t get the achievement before the patch. These enemies are clearly bugged and don’t operate as normal aetherblades.
New Achievement: Go an entire Living Story update without whining on the forums.
I’m somewhat saddened that they made “Southsun Survival” closer to the knockoff Hunger Games than “Hunger Royale” which was closer to Battle Royale.

The Fall of Abaddon refers to the old human god Abaddon. It was the major antagonist for Guild Wars: Nightfall (GW1). Vote for Gnashblade to learn why/how he was cast out intially.
The Thaumanova Reactor explosion research refers to the location labeled “Thaumanova Reactor” in Metrica Province. It’s a reactor that exploded. Vote for Kiel to learn how/why.
I didn’t know that you could outright die early and get more points than if you actually played the game. Good to know.
Seems counterintuitive that the superior strategy for achievement-hunters is to not play the game.
I know you!
You’re that guy at the top of Labyrinthine Cliffs that keeps creepily hitting on the poor Zephyrite girl. Tired of being rejected?
10 Black Lion Chests 3 scraps… Im so tired of this scam
Consider yourself lucky you go so many.
Those scraps aren’t going to do anything useful except rot in your inventory. You’d better buy 21 more keys before the Aetherized weapons go up in scrap-cost!
This is disappointing. Why can’t we just have a guaranteed scrap from the chest?
When the Aetherized Weapons from BLTC reward was first explained, many people thought that you get a super-rare chance at a whole ticket and otherwise a guaranteed scrap. “Finally, Anet got rid of RNG!” we thought after the Kite Fortune system was well-received.
It seems they made it worse in that you get a rare chance at a tenth of a part of the new weapon skins from an item you get with gems.
According to the event description, higher tiers give you better loot.
During the live feed preview, one of the devs got that greatsword on their first try. They claim it wasn’t contrived. They’re just absurdly lucky.
For the time being, the interface always assumes you’re at Tier 3 even if you just hopped in.
Take it down several notches = Tier 1
Take it down a notch = Tier 2
Let’s do that again = Tier 3
Take it up a notch = Tier 4
Issues I have is we get to choose just one PVE skin from the selection when we get a PVP chest with several skins just for SPVP. Not everyone SPVP’s so PVE should get more skins at a time IHMO.
…and there are some that don’t like PvE content that would say the opposite.
It’s fine the way it is.
You can be in five different guilds at once. You don’t have to leave this current one right here and now to join another.
Maybe the guild leader will come back sometime.
You cannot “pick” a weapon skin once per day. You pick a skin now and can obtain unlimited quantities that chosen skin at a rate of once per day.
Unfortunately, you cannot perform a guild coup.
If you’re convinced the Guild Leader is completely inactive, just find another guild or found your own. All the time you’re spending being indecisive is sending influence to a dead-end-guild.
We need to be able to buy a cheap Account Bound back cover. So we can transmute our wings to them to make it account bound.
If you don’t mind ruining the Fervid Censer or the Sclerite Shell backpieces, they’re account bound AND come with an infusion slot.
I’ve gotten two.
One was from an enemy in the Ascalonian Fractal (a vet).
Another was from a drop in WvW. The battle was a mess so I wasn’t sure if the kill was another player or an NPC guard.
Engineers have the same problem with kits.
If you use a kit skill, it gives you an ugly hobobackpack that removes your backpiece. If you go back to your main weapon and take off the hobobackpack, your backpiece doesn’t show up.
I don’t like this suggestion.
Bad enough you have to listen to horrible horn players spamming the highest note in certain spots of LA.
Much worse if they could be running around the entire city doing it.
Blocking people should mute their horn/bell sounds. That doesn’t mean the horn shouldn’t be a horn.
Plus, in WvW, you can kill them.
Fireworks are a consumable and will eventually run out. Plus, they don’t make obnoxious noises. I’d like the option to block someone to prevent them from being obnoxious.
It would be fine to mute horn/bell sounds from specific players when you block them. Some people play fine melodies. It’s just that some use it to be annoying, and so long as we can target them with a block, it’ll still maintain the value of the items.
It wasn’t that big of a deal with the Unbreakable Choir Bell, but with the introduction of the Horn, I’ve seen two people do it in the past hour. Annoying people will run up to the Mystic Forge or Lion’s Arch bank and spam the highest note.
I suggest that blocking someone mutes their bell/horn sounds as well.
Pretty stupid considering there was a dev on the forum that straight out said they would count. I have defended dragon bash already alot, but the completely mixed message on that one was stupid. Alot of people wasted their time with half AFK teams trying to do the achieve since it was posted on the forums that it would count.
Get over yourself. They changed up everything so you need less achievement points for the wings.
Enjoy the achievement points in the meanwhile.
Yes, because that helps with the people that already wasted their time with AFK team members trying to get those wins. And seriously? “get over yourself”? Alot of people are going to be kitten ed they wasted time on them when were were told, by a dev, that they would count. It would be like being told the moa achieve didn’t count after the fact and people dumped multiple gold into it.
Even before the (intended) change from 10→8, the achievement for the wings was not possible until the content tomorrow unlocks. The achievements that unlock tomorrow seem to be an easy chunk of content to blaze through if you only care about the end goal.
Regardless, the Dragonball achievements were never necessary for the wings. The Moa-gambling achievement wasn’t necessary either. The people that complain are either content-completionists, achievement-hunters, or delusional.
You did Dragon Ball out of your own free will even though it was not necessary for the wings. So yes, get over it, you got the achievement points you grinded for. Done. Enjoy.
The patch update doesn’t really matter until tomorrow anyways. You cannot get 8 achievements (excluding Dragon Ball) until the new stuff unlocks tomorrow.

It’s really fine, guys. We got official confirmation that the DB achievements don’t count towards the wings, and that’s good.
Not needing to gamble money to Moa Races and not having to PvP is rather fine. This is a casual festival event. Have fun.
I wonder if this upcoming Steampunk/SkyPirates update will have an unbreakable logging CHAINSAW?
Regardless, they’ll likely cycle the unbreakables in one form or another. The Molten Alliance Pickaxe may not come back, but another unbreakable may come in the flavor-of-the-month’s form.
Ah cheers for that info.
Since I have no desire to roll an ugly grey spitball, I didnt know any of that!
Thankfully, character creation doesn’t have any randomized stats.
There are cultures on Earth with festivals and architecture based on Angels, Dragons, Gargoyles, and other creatures that haven’t been seen. There are sports teams and mascots based on ancient creatures like Mammoths and Raptors and other prehistoric creatures. How do they know what to draw?
Molten Alliance has more ramshackle weapons. The Aetherblade weapons look clean and pirate-like.
Destiny’s Edge wouldn’t make a secret base.
Consortium would make sense. At least a group that has ties to the Consortium.
It’s unlikely that they’d introduce anything Dragon-related in the Living Story.
It’s more likely that these Aetherblades are a separate group.
Using the fireworks gives you a bundle item. You get credit towards the achievement for using the skills, not consuming bundles.
Isn’t the Moa Race supposed to stay around permanently?
By the price of the wings on TP, Id guess there’s lots of players doing this and not fighting for the Holo spawns.
What do the price of the wings have to do with the pinatas?
A while back, someone found files in the game with steampunk-looking armor skins very similar to skycaptain gear. They had superfluous gears everywhere. It’s very likely these are connected to the Aetherblades in some manner.
Here’s hoping that they’re not only for NPC use.
Here’s hoping that they’re not tied to RNG.
It’s much cheaper to buy the wings off the TP outright.
Zhaitaffies would have to cost 5c each for them to be worth the same price as the wings. With Zhaitaffies being 60c right now, that’s worth 600g when converted to 100 Jorbreakers.
Also take into consideration that the dragon wings is a consumable that becomes soulbound once used.
Candy Corn were ~40c each the first couple of days of halloween as well. By the end of the event they were down to 1c each and 6 months later they just dropped out of being the most supplied item on the trading post.
I’d bet on Zhaitaffy price plummeting to ~5c in the next few days.
CandyCorn was also offered in bulk, had an entire farmable zone where every enemy dropped the stuff, had dedicated mining nodes, had dailies dedicated to it, and had no “end” goal aside from a few crafting recipes.
Zhaitaffies only drop from random boxes found rarely on any enemy and from farmable holograms. The “mining nodes” are pinatas that give you one each.
The Super Greatsword could be acquired by doing SAB several times and buying the item with tokens. It wasn’t tradeable, but if you wanted the skin for personal use, you could get it with moderate ease. The drop-off was when speculators eventually noticed people weren’t buying after the event.
The Jetpack’s sole acquisition was doing the dungeon and hoping RNG was in your favor. It was desired by both market flippers/speculators and people that wanted the skin for personal use.
The wings lie somewhere in between. You can grind the skin out through normal play, or you could grind out Zhaitaffies. However, with the price of Zhaitaffies right now, it cots you over 600g of the stuff to get a skin, but it’s possible. So long as the price of Zhaitaffies remains above 5c, buying the skin will be cheaper. Thus, if you want the skin for personal use, you’re pretty much relying on the supply of random drops. It’s desired by speculators and personal-use-people.
Considering people desire this stuff in the thousands, a collectable tab of 250 won’t really make a difference. It’ll probably be implemented sometime during or after the event.
IIRC collectables are ingredients and minis. the Taffy is a food.
They’re also a currency and analogous in every way to Candycorn from Halloween. Candycorn has its own bank tab.

lol i have the bradygame book for gw2 its approved by arenanet ncsoft and in that book it says we are diffrent we have no grind hhhmmm 100,000 candy to get 100 jawbreakers to get the new wings lol that is more then grind that will make your fingers bleed lol
If having to farm 100k candies aint a grind then what is?
100k candies costs more than what the wings are going for right now. Sell the 100k candies for 400g instead and buy ten wings.
It’s not a grind. Just buy what you want and sell the rest.
You can buy them off the tradepost. With current prices of 60c for a candy and 40g for the wings, it’s much cheaper to buy the wings outright.
Rather than grinding out the Zhaitaffies, sell them and buy the Dragon backpiece off the tradepost.
With 60c right now on Zhaitaffies, it’d cost you 600g worth of them to get the backpiece. You may as well get the backpiece outright for the 40g or so that it’s currently selling for.
I’m on the same boat. I tried yesterday, and couldn’t get crab garbber nor crab holder achievements to progress beyond the 33% they’re both coincidentally stuck at. I tried today before and after the reset, and they still won’t move. I haven’t been able to progress since the first day of the game.
I’m hoping Crab Toss will stay around in a fixed form a little while after the Southsun event is over.
Before the recent patch, it granted 3 stacks of might to myself and nearby allies whenever I used a heal skill. Now, it doesn’t grant anything to myself nor allies. The Superior Rune of Altruism 2nd rank is outright broken.
