It really convolutes the storyline though because it’s tied to your race.

Perhaps if this race change came with a “personal story reset” and flagged you as unable to recieve rewards from them, then it’d be possible.

I understand that the personal story getting in the way of your desire for a race change is marginally relevant to your desires, but it’s still something that needs to be ackittened for.

Dungeon Storymode is meant as a trial-by-fire to ease players into the explorableode mindset. Enemies are NOT a pushover and you need to work as a team. You are expected to go down, but

At least the dungons I find myself to be competent in (AC, TA, CoF, SE) I have gone through each path at least once without a single person dying (save for the really hard CoF path).

"Land" Access to Southsun shores

As it stands, Southsun Shores is only accessible via an NPC in Lion’s Arch. It’s nice, but overall the zone seems disconnected with the rest of the world as a result.

Suggestion: Add a normal zone boundary to Sparkfly Fen and Caledon Forest. Sparkfly Fen even has a road going in that direction (on the map) that is blocked off by a rock. Plus, Sparkfly Fen is a 57-66 area so it’s not a terribly enormous jump for a player of that level to be experienced enough in the game to know to avoid that area.
An NPC guard could be added to Caledon Forest in order to warn/prevent lower-level players from accidentally wandering in there. After all, the Norn starter area Wayfarer Foothills is right next to the lvl70-80 Frostgorge Sound and that hasn’t caused too much trouble.

Whenever an engineer enters water with an environmental weapon, the environmental weapon disappears. This was heavily evident and problematic with the Priory Stone Sheath personal quest, and it ended up being problematic during the Halloween event with the Candycorn Scanner.

I understand why it exists, Engineers’ kits are considered environmental weapons and thus should not be equippable underwater. However, the functional limitations of our core class mechanic should not also create an environmental weapon limitation that is inherently programmed into our class.

Like the Engineer backpack, it’s a lvl1 item.

Upgrades can only be placed in items of equivalent level or lesser.

Try putting in a gem that doesn’t have a level requirement like a copper doubloon or something.

Order vendors shoud sell equipment to all !

As Bruno said, it makes your order choice impactful.

From a storyline reason, it also doesn’t make that much sense. It’s like the US asking the Russians if they can run around in their military uniforms after the successful alliance in World War II.

Random Branded Areas

There are already several events in the outskirts of Orr that have something similar.

The environment gets very foggy and brown while colors get washed out. Undead noises and spawns increase tremendously.

As for lower-level zones, I disagree. The whole storyline is about people’s surprise that Zhaitan is spreading influence around. Things get ‘real’ when Lion’s Arch becomes affected. The reason we all go after Zhaitan is because it made the first attack.
If other dragons start attacking lowbie zones willynilly, it undermines the impact of Zhaitan’s actions in the entire storyline.

Perhaps something like this will be implemented when the other dragons become the focus in the future.

Last Fort Trinity POI is not accessible even after Battle Completion

That POI isn’t easily accessible at all times and even during the battle. It’s the place where Trahearne will ask you to meet him several times and where you’ll get quests from him.

If you continue the storyline, you’ll get the POI. I actually believe it may be impossible to miss it.

As I posted on the other WvW thread, this recent 10/7 patch made things worse. Before, you would at least see names above their head. This patch makes it so that I couldn’t even see a friendly partymember and commander for ten minutes despite fighting alongside them.

Everyone went invisible during WvW, including NPC's.

This recent patch (10/7) has made things worse.

Before, there was a rendering problem when opponents exited stealth or came in from far away. Either way, they at least showed up after some time. As of 10/7, I had difficulty seeing both allies and enemies and couldn’t see even the commander/partymember that was standing next to me fighting for at least 10min in WvW.

Others in my party were having the same problem.

Make WvW less attractive to PvE Farmers

Disagree. One of my favorite things when running away from large groups is baiting them through hostile mobs like Krait or Raptors Even fighting amongst those mobs is fun.

It’s also nice fighting amongst neutral mobs because one careless misfire can get a group of stun-happy Moa Birds attacking the enemy.

It rewards tactical play.

Perhaps the best you can do is eliminate all bonus experience from killing wildlife.

I finished this quest with my Engineer the first week and ran into no problems. After hearing a lot of people having trouble, I was worried when I did it with my Mesmer yesterday. Worked fine.

Then again, I didn’t die in the mission. I hear a lot of the bugs result from when players die and respawn in a mission.

Minor Aesthetic Suggestion - Icons near name

This suggestion wouldn’t be difficult to implement (I think/hope) yet it’s minor enough to not really be a priority.

Nowadays, people have seen the 100% world exploration icon next to people’s names. How about expanding that for other landmark achievements that the player has gained? Not necessarily like achievement titles, but the choices people have taken through the game.

The most obvious would be a small icon displaying your Order – Priory, Vigil, Whispers.

For races, it would be interesting and flavorful to have a display stating your current Human God worshipped, Charr warband, Asura college, Norn spirit animal, or Sylvari cycle.

Perhaps other icons will be earnable later down the road. Wielder of a Legendary Weapon?

The player’s display would be as normal, but somewhat like this:

PLAYERNAME [GUILD] ((((()))))
Earner of titles _ O O O ((((()))))

Displaying the name, guild, title, and face (the overuse of parentheses) as usual. However, add small little icons next to people’s names that are fully customizable (the little Os in the crude drawing).

That way, you can walk around the world showing everyone that you’re a Charr Ash Legion member of the Vigil with 100% world completion.


Ultimately, it would be a nice addition, nothing major, and just a nice bit of flavorful ‘bling’ to customize your character even more.

At worst, it may have a conflict of interest with earned titles. Then again, 100%ing the world grants you “Been there, Done That” and a little icon, no the titles and icons can complement one another.

If you want survivability of turrets, get Ground-Targeted Turrets.
Casually putting that Rocket Turret in an annoying spot (like on a wall) makes it hard to notice and unviable/immune to AoE.

Sovereign Eye of Zhaitan (lvl 80 personal story boss)

Twice, I had this problem. The Eye would go invulnerable and just pewpew with Trahearne indefinitely. For an Engineer like myself, the idea of engaging the Eye in melee-range never occurred.

However, there was this one time that the opposite problem happened. The Eye got engaged in a pewpew duel with Trahearne and it wasn’t invulnerable. It completely ignored me and I was able to kill it with no problem whatsoever. A pity too, I would have rather enjoyed the bullet-hell style of combat.

You can walk through your turrets. Do it often.
Enemies occasionally avoid your turrets, but will spend time wailing on it if forced to cross through too often.

Also, you can “reset” an enemy’s aggro with the plethora of knockdowns and such that exist. Overcharged Shot and Thumper Turret Overcharge work great for this.

Remove WvW from the Monthly

It would be a fair trade-off if NPC Guards, Scouts, Yaks, and Patrols counted as “WvW Kills”. That way PvE-oriented people will be able to go to WvW and actually be helpful.

Then again, I don’t mind; I enjoy WvW a lot.

Ninja, you’re in the Vigil Base and it’s telling you to take the Vigil portal to Fort Trinity. Zoom your map out much further and you’ll see the actual ‘true’ map marker telling you where the quest is located (in Orr).

If you’re part of the Vigil, you can take that portal to Fort Trinity by talking to the guard at the door. However, if you’re not Vigil, the portals are bugged and the gate guard won’t let you through.

You can activate Mantra of Pain alongside other actions. It has no animation.
Your basic attack takes one second to activate; mantra of pain takes zero.

They’re not comparable.

I’m human and encountered the same bug. I believe it may be that Engineers are programmed to eliminate their bundle upon exiting water if their land utility skills don’t include the bundle.

I’ve done the quests leading to and way past Fort Trinity
I've even beaten the Sovereign Eye of Zaitan

The Fort Trinity Asura Gates work both ways.
However, the Vigil/Priory/Secrets-side fences are one-way. The gate-side guard lets you pass with a conversation. The other guard constantly says “access is forbidden”.

It is doubtful this is intentional; is there a fix for this?

Just curious here, but how many of you are Engineers?

There is actually a way around this bug, but it should be fixed anyways for future players. If you manually drop it so that it’s underwater still, but close enough to be picked up on land, you can finish the mission.

Yeah, that’s exactly what I did. This works.

Engineer Turrets disappearing

As an Engineer, if you place a turret on land and they step into the water, the turrets simply outright disappear with full cooldown.

For many of the dynamic events that take place where enemies are invading from the water and land, this becomes a tremendous problem for turret-engineers if you accidentally touch water or are knocked into it by an effect in spite of having full intention to stay above water the whole time.

Aye, same problem here. Back when the monthly achievements were listed as “August”, I completed it to 100%. Then, now that it’s September, it’s still at 100% and I cannot complete it for this month.
