Definitely seems more widely viable than my guard. more fun builds etc and my little asura would look awesome.;) gonna run mm to 80 and try reaper mm as I’m always solo, from what I’ve read it’s very good at soloing new content seems pets are muuuch nicer now

Fair enough I am looking through as we speak.

I’m debating. Guardian I only enjoy LB and as that’s my only option, could see it being dull fairly fast. Traps are hilarious though. Reaper/necro seems like I’d have such an easy time in general especially with 2 health bars… Damage seems alright too.

Ehh in PvP I’ve been winning every game running the chill build, its disgustingly strong…

I assume for general lvling after crafting I’m best off going minion master… Same for endgame solo content I suppose. Does necro have much of a ranged dps build? Dh has lb, rev has hammer… Necro has staff 321?

Just a quickie really. How are we all finding Reaper/Necro in HoT thus far?

I’ve been playing Revenant since launch, got it to 80 and am kicking kitten in PvP whilst farming masteries. However I’m really enjoying Reaper AND Dragonhunter in PvP so want to level one of them to 80 for endgame etc with my revenant.

So just come to you guys to get some insight here… For a start, how is Necro for solo content? I imagine with perma swift and shroud it should be extremely easy to kill anything from normal to champ mobs? What about dungeons etc, group content whether it be world or dungeons… In general really how does it perform?

My revenant is pretty sick but would love to decide on dh or reaper as the alt. Any input is welcomed!!

Sword/axe problem solved with assassin stance. almost perma superspeed. See a Mob far away? Shadowstep, axe4, oh look I’m ontop of the mob. Could’ve sworn I was like 2k away. The class is extremely fun. I kinda hate these forums coz it’s always full of people whining about things the class clearly already has plenty of…

You’re pretty annoying now… All I see is your kittened sarcastic posts. Everyone can wreck everyone except thieves really. Scrappers are easy to kill if you’re not stupid. Hell I have no problem on my dh and rev. Also get wrecked by everything but that makes it fun

Grinding is spending 2 years going from 1-50 in DAoC. This is not a grind.

The visual look is awesome, obviously read through the skills etc but haven’t had a chance to play it and get a thorough look. Current classes aren’t my cup of tea with the exception of shoutbow offensive and Condi ranger. 110% swapping to rev when its out.

I’ll look into Asura and Norn at release. The legends sound like a hella lot of fun. Can’t wait to try this. What seems to be the most effective solo build thus far?

So I’m buying HoT for its release as we all are. I’m definitely going to swap and play Revenant as my main when its out along with Druid as my only alt (don’t play an amazing amount). I’ve seen gameplay videos of Revenant on YT but not a lot more apart from that. Sooo….

Can anyone give me a breakdown of the Revenant? I swapped to Monk in WoW and it was the best decision ever as the builds were all new and noone Was used to it so learning varied builds made it even more fun. So what’s what guys?

Also a quickie. I play a Norn warrior and Asura ranger. Does asura look Good in revenant gear or am I better off going norn or human?

I find gs hammer extremely boring to play and limiting with 2 slow melee weapons.

Trust me gs longbow and offensive shoutbow are awesome fun my Wingate is pretty neat lately. With shoutbow I just run signet of rage, fear, the shout for might and ensure pain. For gs longbow I just copy Roms build, frenzy rampage is hilarious

I only queue as offensive shoutbow or Rom’s greatbow, I love both. So much damage with greatbow it’s awesome!

So I haven’t looked into HOT much at all to be honest. I’ve seen a few vids of the elites and they look cool. my mains are Ranger and Warrior with Engineer for PvP only. I’m not liking warr or engi thus far hot wise, ranger I’m still waiting for… So I’m tempted to swap to revenant. He’ll I did it in MoP for monk and it worked out awesome!

So guys can I get a quick tl:dr on revenant so far? How’s it play? Fast, slow? Bursty, sustain? Support, damage? Is it generally a tweaked guardian or hm? Which races are looking good in the armour too? Majority of my classes are male asura with my warrior being male norse, not a fan of the females or charr.

Definitely looking to swap to Rev as my pure main in HoT though, ranger and warrior just don’t look appealing enough to me

I REALLY want a staff, I just think asura ranger with staff would look absolutely aWEsOmE. But it’ll probably be something dumb and boring like warrior. sigh.. my classes get the kitten stuff. May have to Reroll revenant in hot..! Rolled monk main in MoP and that paid off 110% so maybe I should mimic it here!

^ thanks for the tips again definitely going to practise this tomorrow and see how I get on, I play mostly Condi warrior and ranger so its be a nice change to play a more defensive spec. More team orientated as well unlike my other 2 which are more 1v1. I also never see bunker specs when I queue so should help boost a few more wins hopefully! Now to delete the human and to make an asura haha

Awesome advise thanks, so I need to try stick with the group, I’m so used to roaming on my warr and ranger haha it’ll take some practise to get used to sticking with the group and being the support bot. Do I ever want to solo camp a point or am i better off just sticking and supporting?

Guess I need more practise then. I kinda wanna try sword or shield out. Maybe mace shield and staff would be a fun alternative

Yeah I find sword fun. I do love playing bunker with staff but I feel like whnci go into mace focus it just gets deflated and loses that spark lol. So sword and shield is only via me at khylo mid. Mace/shield no good? Is the build on metabattle the only option?

Is there much benefit to going sword/shield over mace/focus? Finding it a bit stale being mace/focus was just curious if there are any nicer variants than the standard metabattle one

Started off as bearbow to get my bearings back on my ranger but this morning decided to try out the Condi survival build on metabattle… Seems much much nicer in general.

I seem to have no trouble at all vs dd ele, probably just fighting bads but I kill them comfortably, or we just Tobin forever until someone adds. Other classes seem fine too in a 1v1. Group fights are exciting, drop mud terrain, entangle, bleed everyone. Managed to get a 38 bleed stack on a guardian after he blew all his cooldowns, he dropped fast LOL. Still has loads of weaknesses but I’m finding it a he’ll of a lot more enjoyable than the power build I started playing.

Anyone else having success with this?

My damage seems to be fine, my issue is that I did in the blink of an eye in both solo and teamnfights :/

Yeah lol. I definitely want to learn to master my engi as its such a high skill capped profession, seems it’ll take an eternity though zzzz… I just die so kitten fast it’s embarrassing my team has to carry me and I can’t 1v1 anything. On my ranger however I can farm dd Ele all day -.-

See this is my dilemma. I absolutely kick kitten on my warrior and ranger as well let’s be honest the skill cap isn’t high. But I fail so kitten my engi. I solo queue often, I play soldier or kit Condi and I feel like I’m always the first to die, it’s very frustrating. Am I just better off playing bunker guard and afking on nodes for ez carry? -.-

Of course that seems to be it. For example I still have no idea how to properly setup combo fields :/

I’m happy on ranger and warrior, to be honest the only other class I kinda enjoy is engineer. I just feel like Mesmer and elementalist are a little too deflated to me, don’t know why… Necro lack of mobility annoys me and thief is just a bit too squishy/added for me lol, never a fan of thieves anyway. I solo queue a lot as well so can’t solo carry well on a thief. Works Ok on warrior, ranger and engineer though.

Wish I was half decent at engineer so I could survive burst and take people down

So it seems I’m stuck… I play my ranger in pve and pvp as my main so I’m very used to it, know all the little tricks with bearbow and Condi builds etc etc… When I try play my engi Ele or Mesmer it seems I just die like I’m naked. I just flop so fast I don’t get why or how it happens. I think I’m just very very rusty on them as there’s not a great skill cap on ranger whereas ele engi Mesmer is quite high…

Any general tips I guess? I’m trying soldier rifle engi, dd ele, staff/gs Mesmer and also condi Mesmer… Feeling a bit down lately coz I just suck at everything but my ranger or warrior lol!

Hmm ok so worth me trying both sets and seeing which I have more fun with then probably not worth swapping to match other teams at my mmr lol.

Yeah for sure. I’m going to rock ranger as a main for pve etc and have the engi as a fun alternative with others. Ranger just seems so easy for solo pve also when the pet can tank all haha. Just an easier more relaxing life LOL and its fun also, Condi more so than power.

So is there any benefit from going with elixir over the kits with soldier rifle? I was just browsing around I suppose it’s elixir s vs tool kit to which one is more benefitial? And a few trait changes of course. I’ve only ever played with nade and tool kit it’s my bread and butter, so never really tried the elixir builds at all.

Also, why do people say if you get tornado to just cancel it? Is it really not worthwhile?

Engineer rotation actually looks like it is going to blow my brains the rotation is like 50 stages long I get lost after number 10 LOL… Ranger seems much simpler and more enjoyable. I’ll stick to engi in just pvp

I’ll be honest I have No idea about fields etc I literally just farm Spvp unranked and randomly craft or pve Lmao I’ve never actually looked into the fields so I’ve honestly no idea Wtf is what, which explains why me playing Ele is a free kill to anyone including an auto attacking rangers pet. Sticking to engi and ranger so I can figure this all out

Gonna feel like a proper shepherd with my stick and dog. #onemanandhisdog life complete. don’t care if ranger is the worst class ingame, I’ll role play the kitten out of this. Brb actually grew up on a farm with collies. Life into game win.

Was gonna ask that, what are the blast field combos for ranger? Like which ones can I do? Loving ranger whether people hate it or not, I enjoy the he’ll outta it

Yeah the sword build looked very boring, this looks much more interactive, constant pet and weapon swapping, sounds good!

Sweet thanks for the replies guys this is just making ranger sound more enjoyable hahaha. I did try some 80 content on my engineer but I just couldn’t get settled on it, ranger looks a little less tedious but a lot more fun, and having the pets for solo is awesome too. Definitely grinding to 80 and trying this out. Only PITA is getting the gear when I have no gold and no guilds LOL! And I spend all day on spvp grinding tomes doh

Ah I see so axe torch first set then just axe in second set and it’ll act like I have a torch there. Is there any downside to this? Less stats or whatever?

I’m a little confused on the dnt condi build so I have axe I. mainhand then nothing in offhand, then in my other slot I have nothing mainhand and torch offhand?. Is that right? If so why is it done like that..?

Awesome I’ll look into this. I’ve never fully tried pve so I’ve no idea what to expect or what classes I’m better off trying it with. Lately I’ve focused on playing my ranger, warrior, engi and necro, assuming all of those are fine for dungeons and fractals

Is there a link for the Condi build? How is it fairing against other classes in similar position? Definitely need to level up and try it out

That’s awesome to hear. The class is such a joy to play I’m glad I can happily grind it to 80 now, that’s made me happy! All that’s left is to decide whether asura or human make the better looking rangers is the s/a lb spotter build still best?

Love my Ranger in casual spvp and wvw roaming, it’s great fun. I’m debating whether it’s worth getting into dungeons on it. Atm it’s just a level 1 I queue Spvp with for easy tomes etc… Is there still a hate towards rangers in dungeons? Or is it that typical pet hate stereotype?

Do we bring much to a group outside of the spirit? Like damage or group utility? I’ve no idea if our damage is good or not all I know is sa lb seems to be the best combo to go with, however reading brazils yt vids it seems Condi builds are the new meta?

Quick question guys how effective are rangers in dungeons and solo content? Is sa lb spotter still the top spec to use? Debating whether it’s worth lvling the ranger to 80 or keeping it at lvl 1 for spvp.

Just did 6 games this morning with that hiro build, was awesome! Never lost a 1v1, beat every Ele, thief,Mesmer etc I only really struggled vs necro but still won. Easy wins was top on every game, love doing stealth shot then gs leap into signet maul for a huge damage spike. Quick set of tomes anyway, gonna have to grind them to get these toons to 80 lol

Yup I’m trying this later to see how it plays out, was having a blast on my ranger last night dominating every game easy, should be fun trying the Mesmer.

That build is awesome for unranked, which is pretty much all I do! So much fun I was dominating matches easily, loved it.

Nice to see you guys are liking it still! I was going to rock a tiny little asura ranger tomorrow when I log in, definitely miss playing it and the build variety looks so much fun. Kinda stuck on my other classes with 1 or 2 builds but seen at least 4 I wanna run here…

Thanks for that I see a lot of rangers chilling in PvP lobby and they look kitten also get the occasional ranger in solo queue that just wrecks everyone. Definitely something I need to play… So by bearbow I meant gs/lb. Is that still the go to build? The power ranger?

I have dd Ele and I suck amazingly well at it. I can’t combo field at all or well I get lost once I bit 12 might stacks LoL I seem to die very fast or do no damage and die slowly. Don’t really enjoy it. Much rather play mesmer, necro, engi.

THAT is a kitten good idea. I need 1 of each class…!!! All I lack is ranger Mesmer and thief. Just expensive buying slots zzzz…

Well I’m casual but I hate losing hahaha. I love my ebgi, enjoy necro and warr but those 2 are becoming a pain in the kitten at times. Don’t like my Ele at all, so I’ll try ranger and Mesmer agaon, see how I get on.
