The event system failing and the day/night cycle are two different issues.
I’ve been thinking about this since day 1.
Where is the duel request button??
As for players who say that it will break the immersion etc etc…yeah..
A duel in an MMO rpg really breaks the immersion, and the PvE experience, ‘cause otherwise there is no fighting and this is Hello Kitty.
Even NPCs duel with each other sometimes.
Duels don’t break immersion,on the contrary they make it even better.
Hello
Day/Night cycle as the title says, needs serious improvements.
Not only the cycle it self is way too fast(I’ve seen transitions from day/night/day,in less than 2 hours),and the transition period is 1 millisecond, but there are different cycles for each map instance.I’m not talking about the difference between overflow and the main instances{this is bad also, but understandable(?)}.Even between the main instances, there are different cycles.
I just went from Blazeridge Steppes and daytime to the Iron Marches and night time, and just to check(since the transition time is so fast that day can turn to night by the time it takes a loading screen to put you in a map) ,I went back to Blazeridge Steppes and it was still daytime.
This is just one of many examples.
And again this is not the case of overflow and main instance.
So you have a day/night cycle that not only adds nothing to the immersion and beauty of the game,as it should, but has the exact opposite effect, making it insignificant and annoying.
When your Day/Night cycle is too fast, when there is no transition time, and when it is not synced all over the world of the game, then you don’t really have a proper world day/night cycle, but rather a instanced bowl of “<I don’t want to get banned>”,like SWTOR.
GW2 is way too good of a game,artistically and aesthetically,to have such a “<……….>”
excuse of a day/night system.

Same problem here.
Started this evening in the area north of Fields of Ruin.
There are a few bad things happening and I’m sure it is because of lag,but not the traditional fps drop lag.
There is 1 to 2 sec delay, between the time I hit a button, and when the action fires.
Sometimes I can see an action fire on the screen, but the action sound and damage, delay for a couple of seconds, like the visual and audio effects are out of sync.
Other times I hit 3 or even 4 actions, with no response at all,and then these actions fire all at once, but visually,I see only the last action firing.
It is a nightmare trying to time my attacks this way.
The thing is I got no FPS lag.Frames of the game are ok and there is no frame rate drop when the ability firing lag occurs.
The point is that events reset in such a fast rate that effectively they end up being no different than other games.
And it’s not just the events players can trigger by talking to NPCs.
That “the boss you killed respawns a few minutes later, ignoring you”,we are trying to avoid,is happening in GW2 too.
There are a lot of players in the map,and events have to be repeated..ok
But why does it have to be the exact same event every time?Even if we win.
For example,we save a village and we kill a boss.
The next time NPCs attack, there should be a different harder boss,or something like that.As it is know, winning an event,at the start of a chain, does not trigger a different event, but resets the chain of events, resulting in the same stuff running again and again.

Hello
There is an event in fields of ruin at the north east part of the map.
It is called “Rescue the villagers and defeat harpy kidnappers” or something like that.
The event requirement is to save 5 villagers.
On the map there are only 4 marked.
And when interacting with the villager NPCs ,they say something about being saved, but they stay in their position, and they don’t register as saved in the event tracker.
I’ve been in this area lots of times, with the event active for hours, with many other players, slaying any harpies and any other killable thing, but the event does not advance.
Is this buged?
Anyone who actually managed to finish this and would like to share the knowledge?
Hello.
I really enjoy the game and it’s dynamic events, but the events are resetting and replaying in a relentless pace, and that more or less breaks the dynamic part of it.
As they are are now, they are no different than the public quests in Warhammer,or any other area specific quests in any other MMO.
I thought the idea behind dynamic events was to give the impression of an ever changing world, where your actions can make a difference.
But as it is now I end up doing the same event in a matter of minutes.
I save a camp or a village and before I get to sell loot the village is attacked again.
I retake a village and kill a boss and in less than 5 minutes that same boss is attacking again.Wasn’t the idea of dynamic events to get rid of these conventions of older MMOs?
Yesterday I was in the starting area(1-15) for Norn and got to kill the world boss event there,3 times in less that an hour. That is about the same or even faster respawn rate,I’d expect in any other traditional MMO.In what way is that different than other games,in terms of respawn/reset rates, and player impact in the world?

That was really nasty one because for almost a day I was convinced that the entrance to the mine was from the roof, and I kept on climbing up and then descending into that maze of buged terrain, only to get stack there again.I climbed and I climbed, tried every possible angle, and then I noticed that there were parts of the mine roof missing.
That got me to expand my search radius for the entrance and when I finally found it and got in the mines,I was blown away by the fact that there is no entrance and no passage from the top of the mines.
I really don’t get the hole anti-mount thing.
People say that you don’t need mounts.
I found my self needing one more than once..a lot more than once.
I like the waypoint system and it is a great convenience but the game also needs mounts. It’s as simple as that.
Players that don’t want to use mounts, will keep on using the waypoints, and players that want to use mounts, will also keep on using the waypoints, and the mounts.
Hello
Since this morning I’m having a problem with the game sound.
Sometimes there seems to be a little stutter and lag and a distortion or jitter, mainly in the battle and action sound effects, and rarely in random NPC dialogs.
The game itself is not lagging and the rest of the sounds play flawlessly.
Anyone else having similar problems?
Thanks
Update. This is more serious that I initially thought.
I sometimes I get in a fight, use 3 or 4 actions that make absolutely no sound, and then battle effects sound comes in,but it is distorted and it’s stuttering a lot.
