Could you please remove the flashing effect from the
traits selection window that informs you that you have
an unfinished build/new traits available?
The flashing is really annoying when you try to read the tooltips
of the new traits.
The red exclamation mark in the Hero panel selection tab,is more than
enough as a warning.
As it is now,the 1st thing I do when I open this window and open a
new trait line,is to select random traits to turn off the flashing,and then
continue on to read the descriptions and choose traits.
The Wallet window should not be bound to the Inventory UI element.
In the screenshots I’m providing,I show you the problems this causes.
Screens 1 trough 4 show the the position of the inventory,how the
Wallet is off screen upon opening it,and then after re positioning the Wallet
and then closing it via the bottom left corner button,how the Inventory has
acquired the Wallet window coordinates.
Atm this can be avoided by closing the Wallet using ESC.
On the last screenshot is my suggestion on how the Wallet should be.

The preselect of builds for pre 80 characters was not needed and it only caused problems.
It would be much better if they let the creation of builds entirely to players,they
wasted their time here in adding this to the game.
Since they went this way,what they must do asap is to add a function in the UI or a NPC where you can reset your available Hero points.
I can’t imagine they predicted any of this. They offered a perfectly reasonable price, and yet the babies threw their toys out of the pram anyways. What could they have done differently?

and pricing of HoT should be a case study on how not to market
your product.

I’m just glad of having a full bank tab with ascended gear from fractals that have stats without use for me.

“Stone Flesh” Trait on the Earth Magic line is bugged,and it
does not increase toughness when attuned to Earth.
At least it does not show so in the character stats.

HoT is for all intents and purposes DLC for GW2.
Since to get to the guild Halls you have to get to the new maps 1st,

More seriously, this does seem one of a few problems people have with the expansion. Those that are mostly ticked off at the price will probably be fine once the expansion inevitably gets a kitteneaper.

This is really expensive for HoT.
There’s not many new things, it just doesn’t worth it. And we actually don’t really know what is exactly in this expansion.

We know very much what’s coming.
A few small sized maps,1 class,elite specializations,1 WvW map,1 PvP map,New Legendaries,Masteries,Guild Halls,and the continuation of LS.
Of those,most are QoL and class changes that the base game gets anyway.
I don’t feel like paying 45e-50$ for 3 Silverwastes and a new class.
Please,in case you know more about the provided content with HoT,share
it with us.
Edit:Also I definitely don’t expect the price to drop since that would be a slap
in the face of the ones that have already pre ordered.It’s not happening.
The only possible resolution would be to add more extras to the packages so that
the price can be justified.But that is highly unlikely.

People on these forums are complaining about the value of the GW2 expansion. I believe that everyone is titled to there opinion, fair enough. BUT if you have ever went to go see a movie when it first came out YOU ARE A HYPOCRITE!!! You say GW2 expansion cost too much but you will spend $10-$20 to see a 2 hour movie.
You don’t spend 20$ to see a 20 minute movie though,unless you are a person
of exquisite taste and culture.
So HoT compared to a proper two and a half hour blockbuster,is a 20 minute short film about the fish in Sahara desert that consists of two very long scenes depicting the
shifting of the desert sands and no fish at all.

The ppl who complain on the forums are 1% of the playerbase, so who cares
. I won’t miss them.
If they stop playing it will be healthier for the community and maybe new, fresh blood will complain less with this expansion.

Hmmm… let’s see.
-3 new zones,that land mass wise will be short of like the new
half zones,with added verticality,and content wise will probably
be a glorified champ farm neo innovative grinding,ala Silverwastes(Zombies Wanted)
-Masteries(which is really nothing.WvW has had it’s masteries for years,
PvE is getting it’s own now)
-A class/traits/skills revamp that no one asked for.
-1 new class.
-1 new weapon/utility skill set per existing class.
-Guild halls.
-A new PvP mode that will attempt to raise the GW2 PvP scene from the dark empty dungeons where it delves,and maybe get it up to the lobby with the janitor of E-Sports.
-1 new WvW map(See you again in 3 years)
-The continuation of LS.
Am I missing anything?
To be fair,people who will buy the expansion will probably get a significant
amount of free content in the months to come,and they will be able to unlock
LS episodes for free.
But purely based on the content of HoT,the expansion price,at least for the
base version without any bonuses,should cost 40% less.
I ordered 4 boxes of pizza last night. Cost me rougly $55 and I’d say it was worth it.

Tried to replay the episode in order to troubleshoot an issue with the
LS UI(finished episodes appear as unfinished)
Unfortunately it buged and won’t go past the point where you meet
Stonehealer.You talk to him ,go through all the dialogue choices but
the episode stalls and won’t progress.
Maybe they want to give an incentive and channel players into farming
more ascended gear.
I couldn’t care less about the armor,it’s too much of a grind and waste of gold
I only use ascended trinkets and weapons with exotic armor,but if the power
creep increases from 5% to 10% then that is a significant difference.
If that is the case,then this is a truly innovative way of adding a gear treadmill
without adding a new set of gear.
I have to say from a design standpoint,bugs and hit boxes aside,these are
some of the most enjoyable fights in the game.
Nicely telegraphed attacks and interesting mechanics.
Definitely not hard,I finished all the fights on the first attempt,except the
last dragon fight in the cave which has a hit box bug,but even then I didn’t die,
just the boss wouldn’t die and stayed invulnerable.
A big improvement over the current dungeon and DE boss fights.
Don’t forget the Devs will be adjusting (as stated in the video) numbers/traits/skills in a minor way up to the day of release, and adjusting (possibly in a major way) after the changes go live for some time.
They said the same (and something about including player feedback) when they posted the previous version, and all it resulted in was nerfs.
Not to mention the incredibly slow rate that such changes have come to the
game so far.I expect no less than 2 months balance patches at a time and I’m
being optimistic.
I just replayed the mystery cave dragon fight and something was really
off with regards to the environmental audio channel.
It was way too loud to the point that I had to completely shut it off in order
to be able to hear the other channels.
Anyone else noticed this,and has there been any change to the games audio
recently,that I’m not aware of?
Got the same problem with episode 5 “Echoes of the past”.
In the sub sections of the story page I got all green arrows,
got all the completion loot,and the chapter appears to be
finished.
There is also a the continue episode button active.
I’ve only played the episodes once,and haven’t done any of
the achievements.
The hit box is way off and it’s been like this for months.
The only attacks that go through are single target ranged
projectiles,and if you pay attention to the animations they
don’t even appear to hit the dragon ,but pass through it.
It’s not a player that’s sending you this.
It’s a bot.
Just report,block,and move on.
I believe the op is talking about the target unit frame.
There’s no specifics really.
When you trapp it in the flames it takes damage for 2 sec
and them stays invulnerable for the remainder of the phase.
It’s been like this for months.
I’ve tried all kinds of weapons,my attacks go through and all I
see is the Invulnerable floating text coming out of the dragon.
Mind you during that phase the invulnerability buff is clearly
not on the dragons nameplate.
It should not be invulnerable.
And it should be killable with any kind of weapon be it melee or ranged.
Maybe Sunday should be renamed to
Ihackcausenoone’saroundday.

Same problem with my guardian character, he has not a DPS role, it takes ages with many deads to kill the Shadow during the World Summit. It could be a good idea to fix the hitbox of the Shadow. I’m already looking forward to the final battle :-)

in Silverwastes.
Are both dragon fights buged?
The Shadow of the Dragon fight is still buged and
the Dragon is still not taking damage during it’s
vulnerable phase.
This has been reported in the LS forums as well as in the
Bugs forums time and again.
Now it is also posted in General forums.
And no need to fix it any time soon.
It’s not like it’s been like this for months,or that
players that bought LS s2(not me) would like to finish it
sometime before 2016.
Edit:This is about the 2nd Dragon fight in the Silverwastes not the
one in the Grove.

I’ve literally have seen players fly, yes fly.
That was superman.
I watched the relative Ready Up.
They remove points of conflict,as they say,and the ability to make bad choices,
or any choices whatsoever,I say.
Make the mode more accessible to players that don’t want to spend time
to think about the game,but just follow a tag for a couple of hours.
And that sums it up.
WvW was already a light,soulless version of a RvR game.
Now it loses more fat.
And the trend says it’ll be even more slim in the years to come.

Don’t know about that.
The most user friendly,casual oriented and polished,definitely.
But I don’t see how a real RvR player that has tried the likes of
DAOC and WAR will see GW2s WvW as the best version of open
world combat of all MMOs.
In the end,it’s just two unique medium sized map designs available
at any time,detached from the rest of the game world.
It gets to be repetitive and it is shallow.
Haven’t tried ESO yet.
I find AAs open world PvP a lot more engaging,but I wouldn’t recommend
that game to new MMO players and casuals.
Edit: If this looks out of place it’s because it was originally posted
in a thread which was titled “GW2 best WvW in all MMOs” or something like that.
I haven’t tried ESO so I don’t have anything to say about it’s open world RvR and
how it compares to GW2.

Because players go there only for bag and karma farm and they learn
nothing about open world fights so when they get to the proper WvW
maps they s@#k.
Because farming players that don’t know how to PvP is more boring and
braindead than boring and braindead.
I would have no problem with EotM if it was in the normal maps rotation
and had less PvE.As a map it’s not that bad.

No, it does not. But 5 dragon ranks will have more experience than a team of 5 deer players. It’s still some indication of how the game will go.
Exactly why I brought it up, New vs Experienced. Also, new players or bad ones seem to panic when they see the finishers.

why do you join solo when you know you will be teamed with

After watching the AMA,I can see that the system will be a lot worse than I thought
it could be.It’s a major dumbing down of the game in the fashion of all the previous changes done to it.3 choices per trait quality and 3 trait lines….it’s not as bad as WoWs
non skill trees,but give it a few years.Now they consolidated to 9 traits per trait line.
Someday each line might have one big trait.So E sporty!
That,and the fact that lvl 80 toons with all the traits unlocked
will be stripped of their traits,and will have to grind hero points….

If you run in 4 trees right now you’d be, what, 4/4/4/2/0? I refuse to believe losing 2 points in some tree somehow breaks all possible functionality of a build that can’t be made up for by having 6/6/6 instead. I don’t know of any builds that specific. And while, sure you lose out on some cool builds your way, you’re also gaining the opportunity to make 3 Grandmaster trait builds which was never before possible, which opens up a lot of exciting options. Generally speaking, GMs are more game changing than adept traits you may have spread over 4-5 trait lines.
Just an example
I run my mes as 0 4 4 3 3.It is not a meta build but it is the build I like to play.As of the new xpak this build will be destroyed and all I will be able to run is meta shatter builds.
Grandmaster Mes traits are really garbage when compared to some of the adept and master ones.
This,along with the removal of stats from trait lines and the armor changes,have the potential to completely destroy the game for me.
Adding more stats to armor is not horizontal progression.It is as vertical as it gets.
I can’t really say until I try the new system out myself,but I won’t be buying the xpak until I’ve tried it and made up my mind.
Bad move from Anet….3 years in the game,they only talked about adding 1 more specialization per class,when in fact what they are doing is rebuilding the class system from the ground up.
This could be a different game for all I’m concerned.
I’m really tired of this with GW2.
Every now and then core systems of the game are being completely changed.
I’ve never seen devs discrediting their previous work like GW2 devs do.

The new system will definitely reduce build diversity for the sake of better
class balancing.Just removing stats from trait lines and moving hem all to
the gear is huge step to this direction.A lot of middle ground hybrid builds
will be lost.
They should have a separate attributes unlock system where all the stat points from the trait system would go and you could select which stats you want from there.
You know..like a RPG…..?
they definately need to change the armor system now, diversity will require you to carry around a lot more EQ.
hope they also change ascended aquisition, i would hate to have to do that multi times.
