lose a pip,win 2 pips,lose a pip,lose a pip…………..-
-Go go Espartz.-
There is a bug that causes a channeled weapon effect, both the visual and the sound,
to keep on playing continuously after it has expired.
This happened again on my guardian mace #3 skill.
I tried to sheath the weapon.
I tried swapping weapons.
I tried un equipping.
I tried WP.
And the only way to make the effect stop playing was to relog and loose my place
in EB and be put back in a long wait queue.
A simple in game command that resets weapon effects would be nice.
I join a party from the LFG tool, and when
I get the prompt to enter a dungeon I get an
error message saying the party I’m trying to join
is full.
I know the party is full.
I’m already in it…
This happens a lot when there are players from
different servers in the party and when at least
one player is already in the dungeon when I join
the group.
Just checked all my account home instances again and
everything is in place.
Maybe it had something to do with parking one of my
chars in HOTM when using the item or maybe it was a ninja fix.
Or maybe even games need a good nights sleep sometimes.
Used the Krait obelisk meta reward item.
It is not shared between all the home instances
of my account characters and in the one home
instance that it appeared,it caused the candy
corn and crystal gathering nodes to disappear.
Working as intended?
Same here.
I just stopped trying to play like this.
Will join again in a few hours to see if it is any better.
I like skyhammer.
Every once in a while I get to say hello to the wurms down bellow.
They are in the desert and very lonely and so they are very happy
every time they see me.
I beat warriors all the time using the rather panzy D/P. I like running warrior as well bcuz its the only class viable to counter the bullkitten condi meta, Anet left me with no choice duhmfire=imba
I D/P them too.
They come in furious and they die wondering why.
The unsuspected ones that is.
The good ones are a pain in the Quaggan backpack.
Atm there is an “I’m ready button”,but even if you don’t press it
after 1 min you still get ported in the map.
Accepting it is not a prerequisite for the match to start.
Exactly this.
The reasons and limitations that led other, older games to put
their hardest raid type content inside instances are still present in GW2.
Thus players work around the provided system and try to hit overflows
that essentially become pseudo open world, instances.
Players should have control over when they start the event and who they
do the event with.
For the open world there should be a normal version of the dragon event,
of mild difficulty that will be easily accessible to every person in the zone.
Innovation should not come at the expense of quality and although the
actual Teq event is great, the way it is made accessible to the player is
rough and inferior to the older model.
Just finished another solo arena match and it was
again a 5v4 match at the start, that with the addition
of an afker became a 5v3 and then it became the usual poopoo.
My infinite wisdom tells me that a match should never start
if not all teams are full, and there should be a serious punishment
for afkers and leavers.
Here is what I propose as a solution to the problem.
Players join the queue.
As soon as there’s 5 players for each team available, they get a message
on their screen that tells them that the teams are ready.
The players have the choice to accept or deny the invitation within the next
1 min. If all players accept, then the match starts.
If one or more players deny, then the players that accepted the invitation
are put back in queue without loosing their spot, and players that
denied loose their spot and are put out of the queue.
Players that stay afk at the spawn area for more than 10sec get a
warning that they will be removed from the game.
If they don’t leave the spawn area within the next 10sec they are removed
from the game and are penalized.
They are not allowed to join solo or team arena matches for a given time
interval,say 15 minutes.
The next time they afk they get an extended penalty period.
Penalties accumulate in stacks(like a debuff) and result in longer exclusion periods.
Consecutive penalty progression could be 15min->30min->1hour->10hours……
A penalty stack expires 24 hours after the end of it’s duration.
The same applies to the dead afkers that won’t re spawn after they are killed.
For players that are too smart and choose to afk and avoid fighting within the
combat area of an arena, there should be a system that always compares the in
combat time of a player in relation to the match duration, and cases of players
with a in combat time under a certain percentage of the match time should
trigger an alarm and put the said player under investigation.
Players that leave the game due to technical reasons(game/PC crash)
get a 3 min period where they can get back in the game without a penalty.
If they re log within the 3 min period and the match has ended they don’t
get a penalty.
Players that abuse this system and crash the game repeatedly get a 1 day off
the arena queues.
That’s all.
Now I’m off to cool my brain.
Hi.
In the AP page of the Hero panel and in the Historical
category, there are double entries for all the past events.
It is important only for players that want to advance
on higher level fractals.
I don’t believe it can make a difference in WvW or casual PvE,
compared to exotics.
You people are so ignorant. Its about balancing the economy. More money in the game makes prices go up. altough it seems that youre richer than before, you are not. What 100g was worth is what 200g is now.
Farmers don’t make just gold.
They produce all kinds of mats and gear that they put in the market.
You don’t take in account the amount of materials, especially t5 and t6,
as well as ectos and rares, that farmers put into the economy.
Given the increasing demand for these materials,do you have any idea of
what will happen to prices if that source is dried out?
Be careful what you wish for.
Also, for inflation to nullify the excess of gold,it would need for prices to increase
not by 100%,but at least by 500%.
(edited by Aenaos.8160)
This has been in the game since d1.
What the tittle says.
To me SAB is the worst thing that ever happened
to fantasy MMOs.
Other players dig it.
So let them have fun inside the box,and please
keep the 8 bit stuff out of the game zones.
We already have balloons, and fluffy quaggan packs,
and kites, and all the kindergarten paraphernalia of the TP,
and I’m pretty sure the SAB fun boxes and minis
will add enough to the hello kittiness of the game.
Please, leave the world maps out of this.
I don’t get this.
If there is no more culling, and character detail and limits
are set to max, then all the characters in my visibility bubble
should be rendered normally, and there should be no
invisible chars forcing nameplates on.
And even if there is still some degree of culling going on,
I would prefer it if there were no name plates at all.
If a char is invisible for whatever reason,so be it.
As for a key that shows name plates,I’m pretty sure that alt
does that.If it is not alt is must be ctrl.
I tried to play in WvW like that, but after a while I noticed that I had
a situational awareness handicap over my team mates that
had name tags on,so I just turned all enemy names on.
It looks horrible, but what can you do.
There is no need for that in PvE though.
What is wrong with name plates appearing all over the place,
even when they are all turned off,and model limit and quality
settings are set to high?
Isn’t culling supposed to be removed, and if so why are there still
invisible characters on my screen that force their name plates on?
For players like me,that avoid using nameplates as much as possible
(I only use them in WvW,since everyone is playing the same races and
classes)this is a huge degrade of game quality.
When I choose to have name plates off,it would be nice if that meant
that they stay off.
WvW is killing WvW.
When I started GW2 the plan was to do some
PvE leveling and then be in the WvW zones 24/7.
My favorite game mode in every MMO I’ve
played is large scale RvR.,and it really surprises
me that in GW2 I’ve come to the point where
I only do PvE.
Maybe it’s the just 2 unique maps.
Maybe it is the absence of any sense and lore,
and the detachment from the main game world.
Maybe it’s the chaotic campaign.
Maybe it’s the almighty zerg.
Maybe it is a game engine that cannot cope with
the demands of large scale battles.
It surely is not the loot.
I couldn’t care less about the loot.
There is nothing like the thrill of a good
RvR fight,but somehow this games
WvW became boring.
Rift?…….
Message Body length must at least be 15.
After I clicked accept I got all the loot, including gold
and laurels.
I’ll change the tittle since this is just a minor ui bug.
Got the 6000 ap reward.
The gold and the laurels are missing from the loot
window.
I don’t know if this has anything to do with it,but I was in
a PvP arena when I hit the 6000 ap mark.
I attach 2 screens.
One with the loot as it is advertised in the achievements panel.
The other with the actual loot window.
The best solution I see for this,is to
tie the loot to the completion of the DEs.
-Upon failure:You get some xp, gold and karma
but not the full loot.
-Upon success:You get xp, gold and karma,
and coffers, according to the champs you’ve tagged
and your contribution.
-No coffers directly from champs that spawn on events.
-No coffers upon failure of an event.
I take part in the farm trains, and I am really sorry
for the behavior of some players.
I don’t like letting events fail,and I don’t like
players getting trashed because they are not into farming
the champs.
Yes
Message Body length must at least be 15.
This is just hypothetically speaking, so please don’t think I’m trying to advocate for there to be no loot.
What if there was no loot? If you had access to every item available in the game what would you spend your time doing? What content would you choose to do if you weren’t concerned about rewards? How would this change your play style?
I would then know that the end of the world is near,
and I would stop gaming and start going to church.
It’s never too late to be sorry.
As a Mesmer you need to be as discreet as
possible in the way you play, and you don’t want
anything that would increase your opponents
situational awareness,in regards to your
illusions.If I’m not mistaken,the particle effects
of a legendary weapon,do not appear on the
weapons of clones and phantasms.
And the particle effects of legendary GS are
a bit too much to go unnoticed.
Also a Mesmers GS is part of it’s illusions.
You see it yield a melee weapon that in
reality is a ranged one.
And you don’t get to swing it that much.
It is just pew pew, firing beams and clones,
and bananas.
I would definitely go for the Guardian.
You will have more fun with it,and it
will serve it’s purpose as a true melee weapon.
What you say is valid, but not applicable to old players.
I’ve done every DE and every event chain in Tyria,
at least 20 times. In some cases hundreds of times.
I’m on my 3rd r80, and I’m also leveling one more
alt.
I don’t see why killing champs is farming, but doing
the same events and chains over and over again isn’t.
DEs have their value for new players, but for someone who’s
been here since d1,it is more like, been there done that.
And as a farming experience, the champ trains or the
Crown Pavilion,is a lot better than DEs and their chains.
DEs are not meant to be farmed.Their purpose is to give
the impression of a dynamic and eventful world, but as soon
as you start repeating them they loose their magic, and they
become as boring as the normal quests in any other MMO.
And my opinion is that GW2 is,amongst other things,
a farmers game.a pretty good one.
There is a side to it that is more Diablo than it is WoW.
(edited by Aenaos.8160)
The whole loot revision has been weird. DEs are supposed to be the bread and butter of GW2’s PvE, but what do you get for a DE? 1,5 silver and some karma. Even back when Orr DE farming was a thing, people got their stuff from killing mobs during the DE and not completing the DE itself.
I don’t know why they chose to give you loot bags for killing champs instead of giving them for completing the DEs those champs are involved in.
I’m not sure you get it right.
What you get from DEs is a lot more
than what you get from a single champ
at a time farm.
In fact,on my server the farm train always
stops on events, and I’ve seen increased
DE activity since the new loot system.
Camp defenses/caps,temples,escorts.It’s all
in the play 24/7.I literally have to ditch
some events because I can’t be in two places
at the same time(I’m working on it).
A single DE can spawn in excess of 5
champs,provided there are enough
players to trigger that,so there is a
substantial gain for doing them.
Before the new loot system, high level
areas were dead, and you could hardly finish
any DEs,and now they are packed with players.
I don’t know if Anet will let this as it is,
I surely hope so,and in the meantime
I will enjoy it while it lasts.
The high level zones beast is alive again.
Choo choo.
Supply of gold and T6 mats was way too low,
and something had to be done about it.
Anet should take a step back, look at what they’ve
done, say well done, and then lock the PvE loot/gold reward
system for the next decade.
Seriously.
Don’t change this.
It is good.
This is one of the main negative points, about the design
of GW2.
Zones are like the levels of a instanced action rpg
game, and they are 100% separated, all with the same
unnatural rectangle borderlines.
They don’t feel, and for every practical reason, they are
not part of a seamless world.
At least, when in the zones, the terrain and environments are beautifully
designed, and that makes it a bit easier to forget about the Tetris like map.
This kind of zone separation and the overflow maps, are two features
I hope no other MMO will copy in the future.
It is good for the developer but bad for the gamer.
What is wrong with the TP?
I have already made a bug report about this,
and from what I see, other players have the same problem.
I can use it only once, after log in,and then it just won’t load,
and in order to use it again I have to restart the game.
I don’t care about the technical stuff,I just want to be able to use
a TP without having to restart the game every single time.
Steps I’ve taken so far, without seeing any effect at all:
I cleared the cache, the dat files and ran a client repair.
At least, give us an in game function to restart the TP browser without
having to restart the game.
This is what I have to go through every time I need the TP.
The video is a couple of minutes long.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QWsz5k9eVGc
Note, that in the end it still hasn’t loaded my transactions
history. It would take a couple more page shuffles to load 100%,
but I didn’t notice that.
I believe that we are talking about the same problem.
Check this out.
Game effect causes huge fps drop!
Now with the problems in WvW and effects being completely invisible,
the extra long loading screens everywhere, and lag issues that a lot of players are
reporting,I don’t expect this to be fixed any time soon.
But then bunkers would be more like
traditional tanks, and the game would not
be as innovative.
Evon can always murder Ellen and take her place.
But atm he is too busy counting the money he made
form selling boxes and kites.
Solid character….
Got his priorities right.
1st money,2nd money,3rd murd..no 3rd money
4th murder…………………………………………
The people always know.
Cheers Kiel!!
Vote for Evon! We have cookies.
Vote for Kiel we got beer!!!
Beer>cookies.
It’s a no brainer.
Apart from the 4 living story teams, which are a small part of the dev
force, there are other teams working on content that is usually
associated with expansions.Whether that content will be
released in the traditional form of an expansion or via other
means has yet to be decided.
The game is not even a year old,and players go bananas on an expansion,
that no matter the way and form it will be introduced,is at least
6 months away.More like 1 year away,I would say.
This is getting old.
Every single time I need to access the TP I have to restart the game.
Since the last patch, and after 10 ,15 minutes in the game
I loose the ability to access the TP.
When I try to open it ,it just stays on the empty loading screen
with the loading circle icon.
In order to restore access I have to restart the game.
Then I can open it,but then after a while it becomes
unresponsive and the only way to fix it to restart the game.
-Player behaviour. The amount of crap that
goes on in the PvP chat is unbelievable.
From the “yar all f€&@@ nubs” to the “ez meat baites”
to the “stfups”,it just seems that the worst of the worst
are playing this game mode. This goes on in every pvp format game ever. It’s called trash talking and it’s built in to the human race. Best you can do is turn off your chat. There is no shortage of scum bags with dirty mouths playing video games.
Still this acts very much as a deterrent for new players to stick with this game mode.
Not for me,because I am very much aware of that, and I expect it,but for newcomers
that don’t have a thing for being trashed when they are trying to have fun in a game.-DPS.Tones of it.It is becoming this games monomania.
It takes the life out of everything,it makes encounters
only a few seconds long, and it negates the necesity
for any kind of tactical thinking.
Just go in,mash your buttons,do more dps than
your oponent, and win. This is true for PvE where the problem is really about the lack of encounter mechanics and too many tank/spank bosses. However, there’s a reason people run bunker builds in PvP.
Bunker build in GW2 is like a DPS tank in any other game.
And given the amount of DPS available,I don’t see why anyone would
choose this path.
I’ve been running heavy classes for all my years in MMOs but
I am much more successful in this game when I run my class(any class)
for what it is really designed to do.And that is DPS.
It is like TankSupport/Heal is intentionally handicapped and can go only
that far,but DPS is allowed to reach it’s full potential, and still leave
room for survivability.
Trying to tank or heal/support in a game that is designed around DPS
is futile. It can be done but Tank/Heal/Support will always be sub par.-Gimmicks.Being. transformed into a moa and losing
all of your class functionality. Now…that is some
good esports stuff.Of course I could go and
ltp MOA.This seems to be the fastest way to rage quit. Are there no hard CC elite skills in other games?
Not ones that make you play as a bird.
There is hexes and transformation, but at least you cannot
be dps ed when transformed. And you don’t get to play
a bird class that you know nothing about.
When the spirit map was first put in the game,
there were some players suggesting that the orb
carrier should have a special set of abilities, same for all
classes,to level the playing field.
The devs said that they didn’t want players to
have to use abilities they don’t normally use with their classes
and rejected the idea.
But that is exactly what they do when they force players to
play the MOA class.
(edited by Aenaos.8160)
I don’t sPvP that much.I do dailies and the monthly,
and that’s it.
I only play hot joins, and that is frustrating enough,
so I avoid tournaments.
Here’s some problems I see in this game mode.
-Player behaviour. The amount of crap that
goes on in the PvP chat is unbelievable.
From the “yar all f€&@@ nubs” to the “ez meat baites”
to the “stfups”,it just seems that the worst of the worst
are playing this game mode.
-Class balance.Anet is trying to balance classes for all
3 game modes, and that is fundamentally very very wrong.
It fails to provide any serious balancing in sPvP,thus letting
down the devoted PvPers, and discouraging new players
from getting into PvP.You can’t balance a PvP game,
especially one that has esports ambitions, based on
PvE and dungeons.
-DPS.Tones of it.It is becoming this games monomania.
It takes the life out of everything,it makes encounters
only a few seconds long, and it negates the necesity
for any kind of tactical thinking.
Just go in,mash your buttons,do more dps than
your oponent,and win.
-Gimmicks.Being. transformed into a moa and losing
all of your class functionality. Now…that is some
good esports stuff.Of course I could go and
ltp MOA.This seems to be the fastest way to rage quit.
-Loot.PvPers maybe are ok with that, and even I
am ok with the PvP loot system but,you can’t convince
PvE players to even consider PvP, if none of the loot they
gain in PvP can be used to progress at least some of their
PvE goals.
Same here.
Still stuck on loading screen
To clarify this.I don’t have issues with fps generally.
The problem is very specific to the area I described
above.
No problem in WvW or in large scale battles,or
in any other part of the game.
Don’t know if this is a bug, or just an optimization problem.
Zone,Gendaran Fields, the area north of Nebo Terrace.
This part of the map is usually under heavy fire by
centaur trebs.
Every time a treb firing causes an explosion,
fps drop from 50+ to around 0.
The game basically freezes when it plays the animation of
the treb explosions.
The problem is specific to this area only.
I finished at the 3rd try using a regen buff.
Go now before this is “fixed” too.
I just checked it again, just in case.
He will use the special ability within one, tops two
rounds of loosing the last buff stack.
If this is not a bug……………………………….kitten………………………
I’m off to CoF.
I just tried to do Andul.
If this is the nerfed version that gives players a bit more breathing room,
I don’t even want to know how he used to be.
It is a total waste of time and a matter of absolute luck to win this.
He just spams his ability within 5 seconds of loosing
the buff and if he even calls your bluff ,or interrupts your healing
once,it is game over.
And this is what really hard and epic content is all about.
A almost unbeatable drinking mini game.
Way to go!!!
P.S May the beer be with you
(edited by Aenaos.8160)
Thanks for the heads up.
Got the item.
I purchased an account bank tab slot(consumable item),
via the TP upgrades page.
Got charged for 600 gems, but no item was delivered in my back pack
or in the mail.
Unless there is another way of getting purchased items from the TP,
that I’m not aware of,this seems to be a bug.
Avoid using the upgrades page to upgrade bank slots,
and use the locker icons in the account bank to get
more tabs.
I did the Kryta ones easy, because of the Aetherblades in
the jumping puzzle.
Today I tried to do the Maguman.
I went through most of Sparkfly Fen and Caledon forest.
I did not just pass by the projectors, and cleared a lot of holos
to reset them.
After more than an hour, only 4 nodes spawned pirates.
Don’t know about my spelling, but anyway I look at it,
this is a good old rng grind fest.
At some point this game has got to stop being a lottery and
start focusing on players having fun.
Running from node to node, just in case one out of twenty might spawn
what I’m after is not fun at all.
Just finished the event after the patch and the fix.
Claw still heals to full hp on 2nd phase.
Then it seems like it is not taking damage.
After 10 to 15 min,it’s hp suddenly drop from 100% to 20%.
Then it continues on to not take damage.
Then again sudden drop to 1% before it is finally killed.
