I’ll give that one a 0 / ><((((*> come on you are not even trying
Yes and no. If you have someone else that is willing to be a middle man you wont need 3 fillers to be save, however finding buyers will probably be a lot harder. Another option would be using advertisement to get regular buyers/people that are intrested in a specific path on your friendlist and invite them, thus avoiding the lfg tool aswell. Apart from that, nope, no chance.
Wow someone please report that mod for trolling…
The “Play how I want” discussion hast nothing to do with dungeon selling/kicking sellers by abusing the lfg system.
I hope that happend by mistake and was not the original intention, otherwise we could really call the moderation as “mod how we want”.
The outcome is usually the solo person getting kicked out of his dungeon by some ninja bhbknights. Sucks, but selling a path without fillers is just asking to get griefed. But hey, a nice way to “control” the path selling, isn’kitten
A lot of terms get a different meaning when used in these forums.
For example: Everyone that tries to complete dungeons in the fastest time possible gets called out as an elitist, even if the definition of elitist wont fit on them.
The same is true for the words like “casual” or terms like “play how I want”. Playing how you want is per se not a bad thing, however thats not what this term is used for in these forums.
A typical “play how I want” player usually plays a full soldier warrior with shoutheals, a 1,5k range camping bearbow or a heal guard and thinks he is da baws in dungeons and wont accept people telling him otherwise. The controversy really starts when these guys run into the forums, post their builds and defend their viability in terms of damage output/time efficiency to the teeth. And while it is wrong to immediately fault someone for playing a suboptimal build, it is also wrong stating that this “suboptimal build” is really the way to go and you should gtfo, kitten, etc. .
So yes the term “playing how I want” is used in a wrong way, but it helps when describing someone that wont listen to you, no matter how hard you try to tell him.
Edith: Funny how st f_u gets censored but gtfo wont …

Uhm full zerker never was the “most optimal way” to gear your warrior. A mix of Zerk/Assasins was better anyway if you were able to maintain 25 stacks of might. That however is still often times refered to as “Zerker” since assasins wont provide any defense either. So basically full Zerk or better full damage is still the best warrior, even with ascended gear.
Isn’t this how class forums are supposed to work?
Go into every class section you own and post lol n00b l2p.
Go into every section that owns you and post rofl blizz OP plx NURF ;_(.
A private team instance? Challenging mobs? Why not put in some bosses&miniquests aswell and call it an elite dungeon? Just designed to be hard this time. No waypoints (Wipe = start again) and in order to enter one person will have to pay a fee to a certain npc, right here http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Temple_of_the_Ages.
The whole “dungeon” or “private area” should not only focus on, but also require using mechanics like reflections/aegis/WELL TIMED PROTECTION/Pulls/DODGES aswell as a good amount of damage in order to complete (why require a good amount of damage? Because it is ridiculous how easy stuff gets if you wear full soldiers). The groups and mini bosses should also have more than just one or two skills, 8+ for bosses and 4 for regular mobs would probably be the way to go. Put in some mechanics similar to the fractal instabilities(no weakness please, that’s just dumb, rather perma cripple with a lot of ranged mobs going on, or damage while moving/standing still etc.). Increase the size of parties for this dungeon. Instead of quantity mobs, make quality mobs. Some that will punish you if you stack AND others that will punish you if you spread out, not some “haha you need 3 extra seconds to kill me but i can not kill you” crap. Some that you may skip, if you want to take that risk, others that need to be killed in order to progress. And in the end give some proper rewards. Not 3 blues and a green (ofc not a free precursor), but something like prestigous weapons (tormented) and ascended drops etc. (bloodstone dust is NOT ascended).
But hey, the next 6 months will feature more circlezerg content anway : /
- why is loot at lv 40+ so garbage? i am at lv 50 and i didn’t see a single weaponskin since lv 34 and i keep getting rings that are not even infused…. why did loot had to be nerfed so bad? it used to be so much better outside of the gold reward at the end
Gw2 is pretty much the D3 of online rpgs. Lots of bad loot that will clog up your bags, with the chance of getting really good loot spread evenly on every mob and a once in a lifetime chance to actually get it. Not just in fotm, everywhere.
…Guesting exploit…
i hope you were joking
Would you rather i used the words: workaround, circumvent, or bypass? They are all basically not the same, semantically speaking. A way to get inside the dungeon using another instance of the same area.
ftfy.
Exploiting is making some kind of profit by using an unintended mechanic/glitch/bug. Guesting however is by no means unintended and in place for players on servers that might not have enough players to complete certain events, like the gate events for example.
Yep and if you have 10 stacks of bleed, weakness, poison, cripple and chill on you the chances are quite good to not transfer the bleeds, but another condition instead.
For me the pure randomness of what condition gets removed (You have little to none influence over it) makes the Sigil not only bad in terms of price/value but also bad in terms of general viability.
It will also stop “on weapon swap sigils” from working while it is on cd, so no extra stamina, chill etc.
(edited by Agony.3542)
We did a prot-bot guard + full tank warrior arah p2 once no skips included. Never wiped, but took about 8x as long as usual (2h compared to 15 minutes :P).
I think they should just remove dungeons completely. They create way too much drama for everyone
.
Well our approach was to prepare the room by killing the elementals one by one (one player on one side, two on the other) and then letting 2 players kite the oozes. Once an elemental respawned we just nuked it down again. This however only works if the elemental kiling players run high damage setups. Thiefs would be the best for elemental killing since their auto attack is single target (wont hurt the ooze, will get time between respawns). Using relfection skills like guardian wall, mesmer curtain, engi elixir, thief smoke screen (not a reflection but good enough) or pathblocks/cc on the elementals will help aswell.
When I ran the instance it was pretty much impossible to bind the elementals aswell, so there probably was no change made.
How about:
a) Looking in the forum if a thread like yours already exists? It’s not like there arent already 20+posts regarding this stuff
b) Read these posts and look what people advise you to do there? For example search a group that likes to clear parts of the trash aswell.
c) If you still have something left to tell the public post it there instead of opening thread No. 30102 regarding skipping or any other bull
Let’s remove stacking, zerkgear, skipping and reflects from dungeons and watch all the QQ from the guys complaining about the above stuff right now.
Well there are a lot of dungeon groups that like to “not kitten around” or waste time.
Of course ranger dps can compare with warrior dps if played correctly. Ele dps will outshine warrior and guardian dps by far if played correclty. Ranger can offer unique buffs and ele can provide a lot of fire fields/area might stacking. While necro and engi might not have great dps (which counts in dungeons, I’m sorry to tell you, but that red bar wont disappear by its own), engis can somewhat fill the role of a guard by providing projectile reflection/absorption (really poor though).
The problem is that most ranger/ele/necro/thief players just run terrible builds that are completley unsuited for the needs of those wanting to not waste their time in dungeons. While this also applies for a large portion of warriors and guardians, you still have a higher chance to find one of them fitting your group.
TL;DR: Nec and engi suck, other classes can be good, but the guys that play them usually suck aswell.
I have not made calculations yet, but judging by the fact that power and precision lie very close together once you reach the “high numbers” (exotic+ascended gear, fury, banners, an ok amount of might stacks etc.) I hihgly doubt that rune of strength will come even close to outperforming ranger runes, as long as the 6pc bonus remains bugged and active all the time. (The 2nd and 4th can not compare to the additional crit damage).
EDITH says: Oh well nike beat me to it :/
This topic is new and very interesting.
Best gear? Sentinels. Have no $$$? Soldiers. With soldier runes.
Best spec? 10/0/30/30/0. Power converted to vitality, auto stability, longer stances, auto endure pain, auto shake it off, reduced shout cd, shouts heal.
Useful for: Beeing an anchor to your group.
There are no “threat generating skills” in the game, there is no taunt, aggro mechanics are shady to non exsistant.
Nono, P2 will become the new p4, so we will charge 20g/slot. Have fun guys
Almost every PUG has to do the golem part now, and if they wipe while killing/skipping deadeyes they have to do it all over again. On top of that, alphard will probably be a nightmare for them aswell (even worse than simin and tafu combined!!!). Path sellers on the other hand? Well I’m sure they will find even more exploits to glitch Alphard or maybe just use a mesmer/duo the run.
Such improve, very friendlyness, so rationality, wow!
Really? The whole selling thing is kind of bad. I needed two more paths so after watching the lfg for bit I nervously joined a group for p1. It was a guild group with two empty spots, the other guy logged out when we got to lupi, after the fight was explained but before we’d even tried it, and they brought another guildie to replace him. We took out lupi in one try and moved on, finished the dungeon. I was pretty sure I wasn’t going to be kicked to sell the spot because we had been chatting and they were nice, and they didn’t. But I shouldn’t even have to worry about that.
It is insulting hearing that stuff over and over again. Sure there may be some trolls/kittens that kick you before the last boss in order to sell/invite a guildmate, but as it stands most rushers wont do that.
P1 sellers mostly pay people to help them@tar, skip or kill lupicus and sell the run that way (or get kicked by wannabe whiteknights).
The fact that you would need at least one extra person in order to kick people in your run aswell as often times carrying your party trough the dungeon isn’t worth the extra trouble (you would have to share with the other guy). If you get lets say 32g that means you have to share 16 of it with the other guy, paying three players to help you with tar is cheaper.
P2 was easy to solo inb4 the alphard diasaster (Alphard is the new Simin now). A lot of people skiped gl there aswell, others killed him w/e. P3 is soloable with the help of the portal consumable or another player that helps you with orb carrying. Same goes for p4.
TL;DR please stop insulting a part of the playerbase by continously claiming false things.
I sell how I want.
mmd
26K HB couldve been for any number of reasons.. sub-optimal conditions, bad luck, even the targets armor plays a role if its high enough. Doesnt necessarily rule out a zerk build. Here you can see I don’t manage to hit much higher than a 26k
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D2vgYtC0bco
Idk if you are interested in constructive criticism, but here I go:
You should try to find good buttons for For great justice and Signet of Rage. You have quite a substantial downtime on both of these skills which really hurts your damage output. The mouse an instrument for aiming skills and adjusting the camera, not for regular clicks in your utility bar. (if you rebind Q for FGJ it is really easy to use this skill on cd, since its close to where your hand is anyway.
Your “rotation”:
GS5 is a substantial damage increase, try to use it as much as you can (Usually you can use it every odd switch to GS).
You are camping on Axe/Mace for too long. When using Sigil of Battle you should try and switch at around 6-7 seconds, GS does more damage in solo situations aswell.
Don’t interrupt your axe autoattacks with other attacks. While axe2, mace4 and mace5 are most likely worth using (exspecially in a group) it is not good to intterupt your axe chains, since axe damage is backloaded.
Enable fast ground targeting. This is probably the least important of all, but you can delay WA dodges even more if you don’t have that option enabled, exspecially when spamming WA (like you did, which is not wrong IMO, since the servers often times suck kitten out of 100b (which translates to instant dodge w/ ground targeting and slightly delayed dodge with regular/cast-when-released targeting). Stuf like that can make the difference in dodging crucial attacks (lupis kittenstorm) or keeping up a higher scholar uptime.
Regards
This teleport happens if the terminal in front of Brie gets destroyed.
Once Brie is pulled, different packs of mobs will start to spawn some distance away from the named terminal and move towards it. If you are not fast enough with getting Brie to 50% (most mobs will despawn then), ignore some of the remaining mobs once Brie is at 50% or simply have horrible damage and/or no clue what you are doing the terminal will get destroyed.
Another reason this can happen is if someone brings Brie <50% and then waits too far away from her. After some time mobs will start spawning again, most likely resulting in the terminal getting killed, everyone teleporting in a pack of 4 deadeyes and getting killed in <2seconds.
Healing Surge is better if you are facing an enemy with high poison uptime and able to remove the poison only for a short time, which is extremely rare.
Well actually condi warrior works quite well in WvW. That beeing said, going for healing power still isn’t good, since the benefits are very small and wont fit into a condi build (apart from Healing signet of course). You wont deal as much damage or control as a hammer warrior, but you can play a lot more tanky and pretty much own 1v1 or more like you can with hammer.
What do you mean by selfish? You deal less damage so the enemies live longer. Longer fights = more fun. More fun = good. Your build is not selfish, all the dps focused builds are selfish, since they want all the red bars for themselves!
Can’t tell if serious or trolling.
Well if you look at what anet did with the fractal instabilites, they obviously think that adding weakness will increase difficulty aswell as fun of the encounter. And weaknes = less damage = longer fight = more fun, right?
Well it started with unskipable cutscenes and trashpacks and it will continue to go that way. You will probably see a change of boss design towards consistent, fast and medium hitting hits (instead of slow but very hard) and a “necessitiy of the trinity” – or more likely a necessitiy towards fulltank builds during the next year. Most people will probably happy with GW2 becoming WOW2, but there wont be any “skill” involved when fighting bosses anymore.
I like that anet is finally starting to fix some exploits, but it seems that pretty much any thing they develop nowadays promotes lazy/passive play (e.g. nerfing confusion, retaliation). The last at least somewhat decent thing was the queens gauntlet. Sure most people were using cheesy builds in order to beat the fights, but for the ones who “developed” these builds or did not use them it was nonetheless a nice change.
The similarities are intended. Just gimme back my DS spamming SY! shouting warrior xD
Fair points there, I want to still be able to do a reasonable amount of DPS.
Also after watching a video, i remembered why i started using GS in the first place, not for 100b but rather for whirlwind and rush.
Also traiting for inspiring battle standard and hender my dps even more. I know warriors can through out some terrific dps, is it worth really worth it for regen?
And i think shouts in general are pretty terribad. Cure 1 condition on party, 10stacks invun with less then 50% uptime, i’ll already be able to do 12 or so with axe/mace, FGJ seems decent but i dont think 1 good shout makes up for 2 bad ones. Also using the 3 mentioned shouts, it equates to about 200hp/sec casting them as soon as they’re off cooldown.
On a serious note: Shake it off and Fear me are highly situational and generally not worth taking.
If you want to see how much damage you lose for yourself you can use the effective Power section from http://gw2buildcraft.com/calculator/ (right side, under damage&surviveability). Simply write down the effective power a 30/25/0/0/15 full zerker build with scholar runes would provide and compare it to the one you get with your build, granted having the same buffs by the party in both cases.
I think if you would go something like 10/0/30/30/0 with Soldier Armor, trinkets and runes you will deal about 1/6 of the dps a zerker will do (that basically means you will deal about 4% of the groups damage, granted everyone would deal about the same damage with similar gear and traits)
A big con of shoutheals is that you will either have to sacrifice group damage by droping banner of disc/banner of strength or potential healing by droping one or two shouts. The regeneration provided by inspireing battle standard is really minor, a lot of classes already provide some regeneration, and overall that 320 heal/3sec wont really help.
Berserker Stance is NOT a condi removal, if you try to use it like that you are making a mistake. Comparing one to another is wrong.
Berserker Stance allows you to get some breathing room when facing condition builds on the one hand, and it allows you actually dish out damage vs control heavy oponents (snare, chill, fear, weakness, cripple, blind). However, BS will probably be less useful when fighting ranged, since you are less likely to get noticed and a lot of control might not even reach you on 700+ range.
Endure Pain is the one Stance I’m not so sure about, I think replacing it for dolyak Signet (which also provides about 10% damage reduction if you run full zerk – which I do and I get around really good with it) and an extra stability which can be useful exspecially in larger fights.
What do you mean by selfish? You deal less damage so the enemies live longer. Longer fights = more fun. More fun = good. Your build is not selfish, all the dps focused builds are selfish, since they want all the red bars for themselves!
Watch out!: Grant 300/600/900 toughness to nearby allies for 4 seconds, no cd, costs adrenaline.
To great Justice: For 15 seconds get double adrenaline (35 sec cd).
Dragon hit: Deal 1.5/2.5/3.5* Damage, no cd, costs adrenaline, generates 15 adrenaline based on the adrenaline used afterwards
For what purpose? Zerg fights? Stick to hammer, even if the damage gets nerfed by a lot, the cc and blast finisher stays.
Solo? For a cheesy build I don’t think this will fair too well, I think you will lack a lot of damage (even with 110 more power from armored attack).
As a build to annoy people and maybe keep them occupied until your 5 mates arrive? Just perfect, I would drop some damage in order to get additional snares/health tough.
Axe/Axe is better for leveling, and Axe/Mace is better than GS in my opinion (at end game).
GS gives faster travel which is why it stayed equipped on my warrior during the leveling process.
And that is exactly why I do not recommend Axe as a secondary weapon set but Sword, the mobility you get is just crazy. Axe offhand sucks, period. Even facing 5 enemies you will still deal less damage with axe 5 compared to axe autoattacks. Warhorn helps you to maintain permanent swiftness, FGJ! and SoR will provide permanent Fury once you have reduced Signet CD.
Mobs won’t stand a chance to a warrior using 100b, the cooldown is extremely low and you can pull up to 3 enemies together if you really need it (which you wont).
Well I don’t know how it goes with the two new fractals, but for the old ones you either try hard, dodge at the apporpriate places and not get downed, or don’t try hard and play range/tanky or both. Purely depends on you. You will get hate no matter what you do in Fotm, there are enough idiots on both sides, the zerker aswell as the tanky side.
Should you be looking for like minded people? Well yes of course you should. PUGging always has the risk of meeting a kitten and as long as you don’t like laughing over their narrow minded statements you probably wont enjoy PUGging al the time.
not at all
Power/Precision gear (Strong)
GS+Sword/Warhorn
Healing Signet, FGJ!, Signet of Fury, Signet of Might, Signet of Rage.
Highest Priority: 10 points in arms for +40 prec per signet.
Tier 2: 15 points in Discipline for fast hands and Signet recharge and 20 points in arms for GS trait ( I would go for 15 in disc first)
Tier 3: 25 in arms and 30 in Strength for full build.
Obviously you will sometimes need a stunbreaking ability, trade out a signet for it (shake it off is often times the most useful because of the low cd).
Using Stack sigils (cheap ones of course) really helps, since they provide a load of extra damage.
Using Rush/WA/Savage Leap/Charge/SoR on cd to get around fast, 100b and gs autoattacks (they are bad, but who cares while leveling) to clear stuff.
You can Solo a lot of low level group events if you dodge properly, but I wouldn’t recommend it because you will probably still lose time doing them.
You will not face any challenge (apart from group events &straits of devastation) that may come close to beeing hard, defensive gear/traits are a complete waste (of time) for leveling.
Try to unlock all the weapon abilities on low lvl, since you will probably need them later on.
You can trait stances for +25% duration, which in terms of uptime is the same as 20% reduced cooldown (4/5 – 5/4).
Signet of Stamina: Reduce all conditions ONCE every 36 seconds. 6/6 Lyssa can achieve something close to it with a 48 sec cd.
Berserker Stance: Become IMUNE to new conditions for 8 (10) seconds. Fighting condition classes or classes with lots of blind is much easier if you have a way to remove pressure for a longer period of time. As already mentioned, Lyssa runes can be used afterwards to get rid of all the conditions, or Cleanisng Ire, which usually removes 3 conditions.
Removing all conditions alone also isn’t that great if you are facing good condition builds, since these builds are able to reapply the conditions very fast.
Endure Pain? Stunbreak + Imunity to direct damage (similar to berserker stance, it keeps of pressure for some time), very nice to stomp in zerg fights for example.
Balanced Stance: 10 (ten) seconds of Stability when traited.
Also you can trait stances to grant Vigor, and Vigor is much good.
Axe 5 very good tagging in zerg fights. Much loot, so efficient!
Perplexity cheese
+1
In between Healing Signet and Omnomberryghosts a warrior is already very surviveable.
You have to dodge certain stuff of course, but if you wont dodge it you will die with a more “defensive” build aswell, maybe not as fast, but nevertheless you will die.
Bravo! Bravo! What a masterpiece!
May I ask the name of this ingenious play?
Agony, when i wrote this thread i’m talking about T1/GvG combat NOT PVE. I dont care at all about your pve glass specs and views on how long a dungeon should take.
and about the 3 banners i wasnt aiming that at you, was something i read above.
banner of tactics+regen healing and healing power=Immortality
Then how about that:
I don’t care at all about your uber wvw specs and how much more uber you want to make them.
Banners are completely fine in pve, no need to fix something that is not broken.
As someone who considers himself as not an elite, I also want to point out that the elitist have had a lot of love from Arenanet. Us lesser talented footfolk, condemmed to farming
Cursed shore, frostgorge sound, crused shores again,Malchor’s leap, karma, champ lootboxesare allready used by it. This update the elitsts are getting a lot off love. A long wished for revamp off the agony-resitance, a revamps off fractals, better rewards for fractals, leaderboards. There is one minor point wich I actually understand (although in both the communication and the execution it could have been done better).
There is a small problem with your comparison. These farming methods may have been fixed (which could “compare” to beeing unable to progress even number fractals lvl 50+), but you still keep the money/materials you farmed. The stuff you worked for and spent time with.
This patch will make all the effort/money/time put into leveling up fotm up to 80 go to waste. And to be honest, I do not think there is anything that could make up for such a loss, that would’be unfair to all the other players except letting everyone keep their highest fotm level.
Like wethospu already stated, this patch will show what “high end” dungeon runners can except from the game in the future.
For me it goes like that: If AR gets more accessable, but mandatory at the same time (you did not need any point of AR so far for any boss but jade maw) the game goes to the worse. Mindless button smashing will be rewarded, or at least not punished, while there remains very little room for personal skill.
Imagine what would happen if CoF got more levels (like fotm), but every boss attack so fast and hit so hard that you would need to grind low lvl cof for essences that would buff up your thoughness. Grindy content, gear spirals and little room for “skillful actions”.
TL;DR the update does not give elitists much love, it robs them from their achievements.
Funkmachine how about reading what I actually wrote?
I did not say I would run with 3 banners, I just said what will happen if you start to let people move their banners with little to no effort at all. Stuff like that will get exploited to the max.
Also Banner of Tactics IS crap in Dungeons and Healing ways do suck there.
30/25/0/0/15
GS + axe/mace
Highest damage without trying to use cheesy traits like desperate power.
Traiting banners is nice, but you don’t really need it, most of the boss fights are over before your banner time would run out. The 25 points in Arms give you the possibility to get Might via GS crits, which is useful unless you have around 20 stacks of might buffed by your group (which is rare in pugs TBH).
TL;DR 30/25 will deal more damage, Banners don’t need to be traited since bosses will fall before banners run out.
