I wouldn’t leap in joy just yet.

The condition removal on burst was precluded with hints towards grandmaster traits.

If that’s true, it’s a 30 pt trait thats going to define our burst condi removal. This could potentially just throw us into one build once again.

But Warrior’s are getting something NEW AMG!

Yeah it will be interesting to see where it goes and what it replaces tbh ( or gets merged with )

Hopefully it opens up you spvp warriors more. But as a WvW warrior I’ll not be jumping at it if it’s deep in a tree I don’t need/want for my build ( which it’s prob going to be )

Different runes for different weapon sets/gear sets/rolls.

The only time I’d really go with a “must use this build to be viable” in Gw2 is in Tpvp and for that you want to read anything posted by Defektive.7283 on the warrior forums.

WvW is pretty much a clean sheet.. run what you want.

I run my longbow build with full Rampager’s gear. Power/presision/condition.

Longbow + sword sheild… mass aoe face melt+ bleeds then block the incoming dmg, repeat.

Works for me.

Well, axe sheild will let you set up some combo hits… like sheild 4 ( stun ) into axe f1 etc, issue here is, axe f1 range is small, and smaller again if you’re crippled.

If i was advising a new warrior, I’d say play it like this

1, find the weapons that work for you
2, build your traits around that spec, solo/support/small group/zerging
3, build your gear set to go with that trait/weapon AND roll.

Always have something these you can run.

When I’m roaming about wvw, I play GS/Hammer with pull PVT gear 6/6 Melandru runes etc.. its built for me, and I wont give anything to a party around me ( boons wise ), but it is what I call my MAIN build.

What I also have is 2-3 other random builds/gear/weapon sets for other rolls.

I’ve a full Longbow/sword-sheild build
I’ve a Full support set low dmg/high support shout/heal/boon set with warhorn ( as much as a warrior can support)
I’ve a very weird x4 banner dps support set for smallish groups when I’m really bored
and I’ve a full zerker set for messing about with rifle or anyother full on glass cannon weapon set I want to play.

Being a Warrior to me is about being more than my main spec of GS/Hammer. Warrior should be able to pick up a random weapon and go smash peoples faces in.

I know I’m rambling now… so

TL:DR dont be a 1 trick pony, learn different weapon combos change it up, learn everything.

I’ve also notice a TON of WvW builds and nobody seems to agree on what’s good at what.

I think the reason for this is that, unlike PvE or PvP, there is no real meta. There is no “right” way to play it. Because more often than not it comes down to numbers instead of individual skill (unless roaming) it’s much less rigid so most builds can be viable, but everything has it pros/cons so there’s always room for improvement.

This pretty much answers everything about WvW warriors…. great post.

Only issues you might find with the Warrior forums here, is elite people pushing “cookie cutter must use build threads”.. when it really comes down to what you want ( weapons, roll, traits etc)

Great thing with Warrior is if you want to run some weapon set, you’ll be able to gear/trait it to work.

Best thing to do is play about and experiment.

4 “F” buttons would be just overkill for us as a class.

Offensive + Defensive one would be a nice.

Or just fix the few F1 abilities that are just plain awful on Warrior atm.

Here’s a quick duel video between myself ( running 6/6Melandru+Lemongrass+Dogged March)

Note at about 10 seconds in when I cripple him how long it lasts compared to his cripple he applies just after mine. Cripples used are both Hammer “3” which is a 7.75second cripple.

You can watch my condys Vs his condys how quicky I drop cripples etc compared to Warrior I’m fighting who isnt running Melandru+lemongrass.

also on my channel is a few duels with a Condy trap ranger, and you can see the condys do drop off fast.

On EU so cant really help you, but run 6/6 melandru + lemongrass + dogged march.

but its pretty simple maths tbh.

All 3 servers have a crap ton of roaming groups…

But there is plenty of room to solo roam, if I can do it as a warrior anyone can.

I think we ( warriors ) aren’t to bad in Gw2. Sure we need some “fixes” (not major buffs) but least we aren’t HS spamming Thief’s etc…

We [JuG] got hit hard by the WvW patch being a month late a while back, people got bored fast, then all this T1 skill lag/blobs etc… People just lost interest..

So the guild is just really me roaming about and a few others from time to time when they long on.

They need to make it so IF you do try and defend up on the wall, you actually can.. and not have it the way it is now… total death for going near the edge.

Apart from the 1 biggish SFR group, T2 has been Great fun… actually is a refreshing feeling NOT having skill lag during the day and NOT having my Charr face run over by mass VS/Elona groups :P

Had some nice fights with SFR and Kodash today.. hopefully it stays like this for a good while

sig build is fine until 80 if you’re lvling in zones

Why do you move Warrior threads out of the Warrior section for no good reason, while the thread is still being discussed and or a thread that should be kept in the Warrior sub-section

If [ new player rolling warrior/old warrior player looking info ] wants to read something or gather information comes to the Guildwars 2 forums to find Warrior related topics… Do you ( as a moderation team ) think its more beneficial to that player and the Warrior community as a whole for all Warrior information/thread/idea/builds/suggestion to be under the correct forum subsection or to be shipped of to another section that wouldn’t be a Warriors first port of call?

Lately there has been a good number of warrior discussions moved to other subsections where they end up dying out the moment they are moved.

Is it a lack of Moderation training in what should stay or go?

Also, if Guildwars has a dedicated DEV/Group that deals in with Professions wouldn’t it also be better for them( the company ) to be able to see what the community ( warrior community ) is saying by simply coming to Our sub section rather than having to dig through a mass of random other thread which relate to everything under the sun?

If you have to learn to use something contrary to logic “here is your weapon, here is your weapon’s abilities, push the button and get a result,” it usually means flaws in the design of the weapon. I do not see in the description of the hammer phrase “this weapon is so slow that you have to learn to cancel his attack and then use it again”.

What you say is true, but this is a game, and to get the most out of it you have to do what you have to do.
