Bug/Anomaly: Elixir S

AllNightPlayer.1286

I hope, I do not regret reporting this, but if Elixir S is thrown underwater it still does grant stealth OR stability (like it did in old times). On the other hand, Elixir B grants both stability and another boon.
Another thing is, when the traits Fast-Acting Elixirs AND Potent Elixirs are chosen, the description of Elixir S shows both durations (3 seconds & 3 ¾ seconds). If Fast-Acting Elixirs has been removed, it only shows the 3 ¾ seconds.

Did you also put the Rune in the Breathing apparatus? It replaces the Head Armor underwater.

Do we get the chance to get the rewards of old again?
Like the “Endless Princess Doll Tonic” or even better the “Endless Toymaker’s Tonic”.

Good work with the hair

AllNightPlayer.1286

I’m here to express my appreciation about the updated hair animations. At least all long hair styles now swing so nicely in the wind, makes them look even more realistic.

Keep up the good work and add more animations to already existing hair and armor.

P.S.: But you still didn’t fix the male Norn hair, which has no animation at all. (—> Picture)

Sylvari women vs. Human women

in Audio

Posted by: AllNightPlayer.1286

AllNightPlayer.1286

Sylvari females have and always have had their own vocal (guttural) set.

Each of the sounds for guttural types used between the various races are recorded by different actors but with similar deliveries—hence there is some stylistic resemblance between sylvari female and human female within a given action. Especially so between human and sylvari because they also share sound cue timings since they’re animated so similarly. But each player type definitely has a unique set of sounds.

That’s what I thought too — about the different actors — therefore I always repored it as a sound bug. But after a while, I wanted to “check” it myself. That’s why I extracted the audio files. After a bit of “searching” I found the “guttural” sound sets. Being extracted in one “line-up”, it was easy to listen to all of them for all races. And please believe me Cody, as I reached the sylvari set, there were some files from the human set (again) (including the above-mentioned sounds).
Besides the sylvari do sound different than the humans. Higher in tone. I don’t now, if Jennifer Hale and April Stewart performed the vocal sets themselves, but they sure sound different.

If you say, Cody, that every actor performed a whole set, than some sylvari sounds are simply not in the game. Or let’s just say, I did not find them, where they had to be and they won’t activate.

I don't have the heart to kill Asura enemies.

Really? Well, I, on the other hand, always try to kill them first. Especially the females, because the battle screams they make are the most annoying sounds in the whole game. I’m always looking forward to make them shut up forever!
So, as you see, I never have these problems about asking my conscience.^.^

The bug still exists. I know, it’s not a major problem. But it would be nice to know, if anyone is aware of the problem and if it’s going to be fixed.

Sylvari women vs. Human women

in Audio

AllNightPlayer.1286

I just wanted to know, why the female sylvari are using so many "combat" sounds of the female humans. With "combat" sound I mean the sounds characters make, while attacking, dying, jumping ect..
There is one sound collection for each race and gender (example: humans, ascalon ghosts, human risen are using the same sounds). Usually the sound sets are completely different, but the sylvari women are using many sounds of the human women. For instance there is only one sylvari dying sound out of four. If the character gets knocked down there is one human sound or if he is crippled there are 2 human sounds. Even if a sylvari woman jumps with Jump Shot, she screams like a human.

I’m just curious, why the sylvari sounds aren’t individual. It worked out with all other races and genders. And I cannot believe, that Jennifer Hale couldn’t perform the sounds herself.

New Female Human Running animation?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: AllNightPlayer.1286

AllNightPlayer.1286

The running animation of the male norn, the female humans and the female sylvari have been changed by now.
I have to admit, that I did not noticed the change on the norn, although I have an eye for such things. I only remember, that — in the old version — while running with weapons drawn, the arms were not moving so much, and the normal one look like they were jogging.
The female sylvari have been changed a bit, too. She swings her arms less much and her leg don’t kick out so much now (so everyone behind cannot see under her skirt anymore^^). But — thank goodness — it’s still not the same as the human one. It just looks like a … slowed down version of the old one.
The female humans have been changed the most, but it still is a slightly change. She now hops less while running. You can still see the “old” animation, if a staff or single-hand weapon is drawn, though it is not exactly the same, but close enough. Anyhow it doesn’t look that bad.

I just have one plea: Never ever change the difference between the races and genders itself! The sylvari — for instance — use the same animations as the humans do and only the running animation is different.

I got the problem too now. Now my light-green spring coloured eyes are awfully dark, can’t even see the pupil anymore.
You have to admit, that the “new” colours now match the eye-colour-bar. But it still isn’t the .colour I wanted and have chosen!
I cannot remember the exact difference between the old “mint” and the old “spring”, but I know, that the light green of spring has matched the colour of my glowing much better than the “mint” colour, when I created my two sylvari.

Are the changes to Kessex Hills permanent?

in Tower of Nightmares

Posted by: AllNightPlayer.1286

AllNightPlayer.1286

I hope, they restore the Hills, too. It just doesn’t fit. The Seraphs, the centaurs, the bandits, the quaggan. They just don’t harmonise with the new content.
But where is hope: The tower will be destroyed at the end, so — maybe — trees are going to sprout and everything looks like nothing’s happend.

I don’t like it, when things are taken out. New Content? Yes! But don’t remove the old ones!

Stop removing weapon sounds

in Audio

Posted by: AllNightPlayer.1286

AllNightPlayer.1286

Dear Arena-Net,

I noticed for quite a time, that you are changing the attack-sounds of weapons and other skills and I only can tell you: “Please, PLEASE, stop it!“
I know, where are issues with some, weapon sound. But it’s about the volume and not the sound itself. I love, how the sounds are, but you keep changing them, making them sound less … spectacular.

For example the Necrotic Grasp: It was just fitting for a necromancer. Only Problem: Too loud. Nothing more. So, why didn’t you just turned the volume down a bit? Now you completely removed it. It makes almost no sounds at all. On the other hand Rending Claws still sounds the same, because the sound was always a bit muffled.
Second, the beloved Chaos Storm: A unique sound to the game. Now it sounds dull and like the Phantasmal Defender. Ineptitude, too. Also sound like the Phantasmal Defender now. So, 3 skills using the same sound now? That’s just … lame.
Necromancer again: Necrotic Slash, hardly hear anything now.
Mesmer: Spatial Surge, don’t know if the bug or the new sound is better.
Mage: Burning Retreat, seems even lounder now. Doesn’t sound like fire, too.
And so on…

Please, Arena-Net, it’s not too late! Give us back the old sounds! The problem was just the VOLUME not the sound itself, and that’s something completely different in my opinion. And I must say – without being impolite – you don’t seem to take much effort in creating new sounds, but I’m afraid, that you won’t stop. I think, next on your list is the Phantasmal Duelist. But again, it’s just the volume! So, please don’t let it sound like a thief or something. He is firing Magic Bullets, so the sound fits perfectly.

Wrong skin: The Krytan-Harpoon Gun

in Bugs: Game, Forum, Website

Posted by: AllNightPlayer.1286

AllNightPlayer.1286

After almost a year of posting the bug in the german forum and endless reporting, my hope is, that at least somone is listening here in the english forum.

Of all weapon sets I like the Krytan the most, because it’s simple and elegant. But the so called Krytan Harpoon Gun always confused me. It looked so ugly, so un-Krytan. But it was THE Krytan-Harpoon Gun, so I didn’t mind first. After browsing through the PvP-Items, I discovered a so called Valley Harpoon and „Valley“ is the PvP-counterpart of the Krytan weapons. And who would have guessed, this harpoon gun, looks rather like a Krytan weapon (the Krytan Rifle as a comparison).
So, please Arena-Net, change/fix the skin of the Krytan Harpoon to make it look like a real Krytan weapon, because Krytan is not just a weapon set, it’s cultural weapon set!

The other picture refer to bug with the symbols of the Krytan Pistol (Level 1) [PvE] and the Krytan Short Bow [PvE]. It would be nice, to fix them too, because they could be mistaken for another weapon.

Soundbug: Norn too deep

in Bugs: Game, Forum, Website

Posted by: AllNightPlayer.1286

AllNightPlayer.1286

For quite a time, the sounds norn make (sighing, groaning, screaming) while attacking, jumping, dying ect. are deeper than usual. The funny thing is, that only others can hear the deeper sounds, if you play a norn yourself, everything just sounds alright.
The soundbug also seems to invole every sounds. While I was mining some ore, a norn next to me was mining some too. And the sound of the pickaxe while mining was a bit deeper too, than mine.
It would be nice, if that bug could be fixed, because the norn already had deep voices, making them even deeper, makes them sound too … ehm … in … nornian?^^
