Those who go to forums to complain are often referred to as a “vocal minority,” and many people only come to the forums when they want to complain. One thing we don’t know is how many among those who do all the dailies all the time are not coming to the forums because they enjoy the system the way it is. In other words, if a cap were put in, would these people suddenly descend on the forums and demand the cap be removed — and if so, how many are there?
There have already been quite a few people who are among the top AP hunters who have come to this thread and voiced their opinion that they would welcome this change. I have multiple friends who are in the top 100 who are starting to tire of the continuous grind and who fume to me whenever more mindless grinding AP’s are added.
Of course top AP hunters will want a cap: that makes it harder for people below them to catch up to them.
Why do so many people think we are just not wanting people to catch us? Do you guys not understand that the more time they add to dailies the HARDER it is to catch us? It once took us 20min to do dailies. Now it can take 2+ hours. We had soooo much extra time to get more achievements. With the time it takes now, its going to be harder to catch us.
in that case leaderboard toppers don’t need to worry if they add more daily options, coz most of us don’t really care about leaderboards, we just want APs to unlock those chests….
Then the changes we request will not even be noticed by you. In which case, why do you care if we get a QoL change?
How would a cap to AP from daily achievements go unnoticed by people who sometimes do extra dailies for chest? You all seem to be parting from the premise that only completionists go past the 5 dailies, online search calls it a “false dilemma”.
From my PoV, I like that there’s more daily options available to get some chests faster, sometimes I do just 5 dailies, sometimes I do more depending on what’s available, I don’t understand why this should be taken away just because some people lack self-control.
Listening =/= Do what we say.
Frankly, a majority of fan ideas are either 1) Terrible, 2) Poorly thought out, or 3) Both.
Can’t agree more with this quote.
For OP’s made up numbers:
I’m one of the people who actually like the concept of living story (even if it still needs some polishing). In most games new content only lasts for so long until its abandoned, but here content is just “flushed” when it becomes old.
I’m one of the people who like Scarlet, even though I do admit her introduction has been way too slow.
They already said Scarlet’s arc has an end, I’m assuming it will happen within the next few months. Who knows? Scarlet’s arc might just be an introduction (longest ever!) to another dragon.
Day 1 – 33 rares salvaged, got 24 ectos
Day 2 – 30 rares salvaged, got 17 ectos
Day 3 – 29 rares salvaged, got 11 ectos
I’m not willing to test more
I’ll go back to mystic kit for rares.
Because you can have two weapons ._.
10% crit, two 5% in each hand or a single two-handed with 10%

After: http://i.imgur.com/biIVHSV.png
I do think it’s behaving as master, but I’ve been getting less ectos in the last two days, I can’t say for sure if the problem is the salvage machine or I’m just having bad luck.
For the cost in gems, I would not buy it if the the stats were anything less that Journeyman, and would still not use it on any rares. At the current exchange rate, you can get 49g78s79c for your 800 gems. That can buy 324 master salvage kits. 36394 salvaged items which would cost 10g91s82c in salvage-o-matic fees. OR, 5657 basic salvage kits. 141425 salvaged items, which would cost 42g42s75c in fees to the salvage-o-matic. The salvage-o-matic just has too much math against it. Even if it were using master stats, it would still be expensive.
From that perspective, no permanent harvesting/salvaging item is worth the money, they are bought only for their convenience. You no longer have to carry several kits nor have to run back to a merchant to buy more, so we could say it’s only worth it if you salvage a lot and want to save time.
Watch all the mad people when they figure out this is about scarlet even though it’s still her story arc and it’s not supposed to be a surprise.
There have been lots of suggestions regarding the casting speed of this skill, and given the lack of responses I assume they think the cast time is fine as it is, but can it at least not go on cooldown if no target was revived? With this the skill wouldn’t be almost completely useless, we shouldn’t be penalized with 165s cd with such high chance of failure (as in if the target was revived by someone else, rallied right before the skill finished casting or fully died)
The most populated servers are Blackgate and Jade Quarry, unless you enjoy overflows for popular meta events and really really long queues for WvW, I’d suggest to avoid them, though it depends what time of the day you will be active.
Ascended gear in general is not needed for PvE content, they are pretty much like legendaries, something extra to work on if you feel like it.
Indeed search gw2 – there are sites that show open, closed, attacking, and defending temples. Guest to the server that has the temple you need open ….
Balthazar is never open.
Just because it’s not open right when you want it to be open doesn’t mean “is never open”.
@OP, just keep an eye on other servers (or even your own), other than Balthazar every temple is done regularly in several servers, even low pop ones, you could also do them with a party, you don’t need a zerg (except for Balthazar).
Get in with TTS, they kill teq several times a day on multiple overflows. The only thing that really sucks about Teq is you have to show up early and wait for up to 1.5 hours sometimes cause there is no real timer for it. Sure the rewards have been increased to match and they aren’t as bad anymore, but waiting 1.5 hours in Sparkfly Fen can be pretty mind numbing. I can complete a 5 dungeon runs and couple world bosses or temples in that time for a lot more shiny.
Teq timer was changed with The Nightmares Within, it will always spawn two minutes after an odd hour (server time), 1:02, 3:02, 5:02…

Lets see if ArenaNets LS will finally get as sophisticated as Fan-Speculation.
But Deep Sea Dragon is in the Unending Ocean
And those arrows for kralkatorrik and jormag seem a bit far fetched.
I don’t know if it was an intended change, as it’s not in the patch notes, but thanks for getting rid of heralds.
“if thats the reason, its kinda ridiculous. a 10 minute, 15 min max event is too long for a guaranteed 2 rares?”
Max event? Max fight, not max event. Your credibility was lost right here before you even started pontificating. The organization and spawn waiting alone are not worth any reward. The general population likes to play the game, not stand around for an hour waiting to play the game.
You really should have some experience with something before offering an opinion.that point is kinda ridiculous, seeing as no one minds waiting for shatt or jormag, didnt even mind waiting for teq until they buffed him. Why? cuz they are/were easy. But they put a little challenge to teq and all of a sudden the wait time becomes a problem, not the difficulty? Hihgly unlikely, seeing as I farmed the dragons for months before they buffed teq, and very rarely did anyone have a problem with waiting an hour and 15 mins for jormag. Anything else you wanna say?
The thing with Teq is the map limit, usually Sparkly Fen hits the limit around 1 hour before landing, so the only way to “reserve” your spot there is to sit and wait for around 1 hour and this still does not guarantee a clear.
No one waits for Shatt/Jormag landing unless the pre-events are up, and those definitely don’t take 1 hour to be done .
Teq is killed every day after reset in a few high populated servers (I know for sure JQ and BG still do it), sometimes even in random overflows created by those servers.
There’s also a Teq-oriented guild that clears three times per day, sometimes in two overflows simultaneously.
And there’s also the extra kills hosted by local non-TTS guilds, these usually are weekly runs.
Both Shatter and Claw of Jormag are cleared frequently, as they don’t require as much coordination as Teq, just a significant amount of people.
Its not really the same. It is more comprehensive
I’m reading exactly the same thing as the replies of the original thread.
You guys have a valid reason to be upset, but unfortunately this is a “deal with it” case.
They can’t please everyone with this, the current plan has the least amount of people negatively affected and you (“you” as people who bought gems for the sole reason of buying this set and had no plans to use gems on anything else ever in the future, and also happen to not like the skin replacement) are a minority.
Not sure if bold and caps will help here, and sorry if it breaks any rules.
IF YOU USED THE NEW FLAMEKISSED SET ON AN ALREADY TRANSMUTED ITEM, YOU WONT LOSE THE PREVIOUS SKIN, IT WILL BE REFUNDED THROUGH A CUSTOMER SUPPORT TICKET
And for those who spent gems “for the sole purpose of buying this skin” yes you are at loss even though you will be refunded the gems, you are a minority and they have to please the majority if they want to fix this issue, specially when the only fix you want is to keep the armor unchanged, and that simply won’t happen.
And point us to where a dev has said this please.. not just you in caps?
Dev Tracker, that section everyone has access to and shows what Devs have been posting.
Bolds are mine:
You know, in looking at all the situations with players and their different needs, I really believe the best course here is to wait for the introduction of the replacement armor set. From what I’ve been told, it’s going to be really nice. Please keep in mind we’ve already made it clear that Customer Support will try to resolve the individual concerns that you may have once the armor change is made. Each of you may have slightly different situations. But since the armor is not out now, and because we will be happy to address your concern after you’ve had time to appraise the new set, doesn’t it make sense to wait and see?
The thing is, we can’t make it an either/or situation, and the devs feel that the best course is to change the armor. It would be nice to say “Change if you want” but that’s not feasible. So the Flamekissed Armor Skin will be reworked. And when it is, you guys are welcome to share your thoughts and to let Customer Support know what they can do for you. (No, “a new car and a couple of free pizzas” isn’t going to be on the table.
)
I understand this is sort of a hot topic right now, but again, there’s nothing to lose by waiting for a look-see at the new armor set, and there may be something to gain! It’s certainly what I would do and I encourage you to think of doing the same.
Before you jump saying they are not talking about already transmuted pieces: read the context, Gaile is replying to people who posted about similar problems.
Not sure if bold and caps will help here, and sorry if it breaks any rules.

Alright for those who do not check the Dev Tracker.
First wait until the armor is changed, if you liked it you keep it, if you don’t like it you get a refund.
If you have any individual issue, like those who transmuted over existing skins (be it current T3 or any other armor) Customer Support will deal with it if you send a ticket after they change the skins.
ATM the only people at loss are those who bought gems for the sole purpose of getting this skin and might not like the remade version, which I’m believing will be a minority.

The 8 recipes are for both offensive and defensive pieces that use 250 Ancient Bones, 250 Vicious Fangs, 250 Vials of Powerful Blood or 250 Armored Scales.
In conclusion, this update did absolutely nothing, Prototype Fractal Capacitor still remains as the best choice unless you’re willing to spend months farming T6 mats / spending almost 100g buying from TP.
I’ve never seen a dev team go this low to force people to play fractals.
(edited by Alukah.2063)
Not accidentally, they always put some sort of preview here.
What are those 8 additional recipes added to the MF?
Some of the events you mentioned are actually better to do solo than as a group, but I do agree that there is a problem with lack of volunteers for those pre events.
Of the mentioned events, a big group could actually cause the failure of the first pre event of Arah, once the group gets big enough, the first vet (I think it’s a Risen Noble) will spawn as a champion instead and will 1-2 hit the NPCs.
Bring a zerg to Eye of Zhaitan escort from the swamp and you will be surprised with nothing less than TWO champion abomination with another champion subjugator as a bonus (bloodiest pre-event I’ve ever seen).
Any more than 1~2 people doing the collect part of The Shatterer will double the amount of items needed, but it will not increase the spawn rate, making it a lot slower to be completed.
Soo yeah, we need more individual volunteers with some events, but keep groups away from them until they balance that terrible scaling that makes solo events become harder than group events.
I don’t have the same issue, but similar. After defending the cannon, which I usually leave as the last seal, my FPS drops to the point that I must close the client, I say similar because for me it happens without dying and the FPS leak stays no matter where I go.
Eh there’s 3 exits to the spawn. oPP is one of the few guilds I respect on BG. Almost all individually skilled players that I’ve seen and they never back down from a 1v1. They’re also like 2/3s of BG’s fight club presence.
There could be a million exits, spawn camping should be frowned upon, not applauded.
I’m fine with you calling us trash, we’ve been called far worse but if you act like trash yourself then you get treated like trash. Just saying
But that’s exactly how you guys are acting.
As a lurker, reading so much about oPP here made me think it was as “good” guild, until I met them today spawn camping. Say what you want, but spawn camping has to be one of the lowest things people would do “just to have fun”.
TL;DR: trash guild is trash.
I’m not sure you answered any of my questions…..
But, good luck on your suggestion. =)
I was also expecting real answers to your questions, I don’t understand how such map would work.
I thought scaling in general was dynamic, as more people come bosses and DE scale up, as people leave they scale down.
I recommend Raidcall as well, they will host your server and the interface is A LOT friendlier than the archaic TS / Vent, specially for those who want to stick around without using a mic.
It’s true that certain professions have an easier time simply dealing with soaking up damage with larger HP pools, but it’s arguable that this is clearly better than the damage avoidance or support mechanics of others. Regardless, adding enemies with endlessly increasing damage output and health isn’t really a very interesting way to add difficulty. That’s why we reduced the HP/Damage scaling in Fractals somewhat and started replacing it with the Mistlock Instabilities that you’ll find starting at level 31.
I wouldn’t say arguable, and I do highly recommend you guys to test content on other classes instead of Warriors, I never understood why you adopted the concept of heavy armored = highest hp pool, best defense AND best damage.
You have to check several times a day for Balth, once completed the temple is only held for a few hours before it goes back to Risen hands, same with every other temple.
How do I find out where world bosses are located? Anytime I find out about them is at random when I see a large group all headed in the same direction.
I tried searching this forum but it never shows anything for some reason.
Bookmark this: http://us.gw2stuff.com/ it will show which events are currently active and their location.
Most meta events can be done with small groups (<5 players) except for Taidha Covington, Temple of Balthazar, Tequatl and probably Karka Queen.
If you play around server reset time, there’s usually a zerg that does all events, usually led by one or more commanders, just find out who this person/these people are and add them to your friends list.
120KB/s when I downloaded this, just leave it on overnight for a few days, you don’t have to stop your normal activity :P
The main offenders for me are Inquest Golem Mark II, Temple of Dwayna and Temple of Lyssa.
Lyssa is a big mess up altogether, both the sound and my FPS break to the point I have to close the game to recover them.
Thanks everyone
It was indeed from GW1, most of GW1 OST was re-implemented in GW2 (full OST)
This one specifically is Hall of Heroes.
This also helped me find the source of this track that one day played while I was AFK in Temple of Grenth after it was cleansed.
(edited by Alukah.2063)
@ Are you new to the game? If you play for a longer time you’ll do the right thing :-)
Almost 2 months in the game so far. I’ve been doing what I think it’s the right thing, but I wanted to see what everyone else is doing :P
Until a few days ago my rules were:
Salvage green/blue with journeyman, then started having doubts if this kit was worth it.
Rares, if price after fees is higher than 1 ecto -> sell on TP, otherwise mystic salvage kit.
Exotic, sell on TP (I already wear full exotics).
Mats, save all and sell everything every 5~7 days, as I already have 400 on every profession, 500 on Artificer.
Rare sigils from salvaging go to the mystic toilet (I’m lucky with sigils), rare runes go to TP (I’m extremely unlucky with runes)
Yesterday I started selling all blue/green/white gear to vendor, left my magic find at 112%.
Thanks everyone for your responses so far!
Gear drop: Do you salvage? Sell to vendor? TP?
Crafting mats: Sell as you get them? Save them in your bank in case you need them later? Stack them in your bank to sell at the end of the day/week?
I’m curious about the general and/or most efficient way to deal with drops.
It means Warrior master race.
The Claw of Fearmag, I can’t wait for them to revamp that boss.
Spamming CC doesn’t add any difficulty, it’s just the perfect way to annoy players.
I think that old bug is back, I got it several times today during Scarlet Invasion in Bloodtide Coast. I was trying to point people to certain waypoints and got chat-blocked for like 5 min each time. I never repeated any message twice, didn’t spam and in two instances I got chat-blocked without even typing anything beforehand.
Maybe they haven’t changed it because we don’t have an expansion yet?
According to the wiki the “real” track 1 is the music of the character screen, I checked this playlist before asking here but I couldn’t find this track :/
But thanks for helping!
Does anyone know the title of this track?
1- Jump on your server’s karma train and pray they go to the locations you want.
2- Grab several people and 3~5 man them if you don’t want a zerg.
3- Pray your server gets the “right color” every week because certain keeps/towers in EBG seem to never flip owners.
4- Dead server? Either #2 or server transfer.
because if you won that fight you would not have bothered coming onto the forum to post..
Nope. They’re not 1-shot kills. They do heavy damage, but definitely not 1-shot. I know this because I keep that champion icebrood mutt busy when Claw of Jormag is up and someone silly drags him into the group. Of course if you’re using a fragile character it will feel like a 1-shot. But if you actually have a tanky character you can take about 2-3 of those pounces no problem. Now having that champion plus the other 3 normal doggies with it pounce at you all at once… that hurts :P So far I have not encountered any 1-shot kill mechanics in this game that are not clearly telegraphed with a prolonged, Saturday morning cartoon villain-esque pose :P
They’re not literal 1-shot kills, but they still deal a massive amount of damage (80% HP of my 3200 toughness, 25k HP engineer) for an attack you cannot react. Whenever I fight these wolves I have to play a guessing game of when their next attack will be the leap or not. If I don’t dodge prematurely and guess it wrong, I will lose most of my HP.
I have no problems with attacks that you can’t react to, as long as they have moderate damage and effects. The gorilla boss from Arah P1 has a instant cast ground slam that will hit for something like 7k damage and launch people away. That to me is balanced as it’s not a massive amount of damage. Icebrood Wolves and Megalodons deal their main source of damage with attacks that offer zero reaction, and that’s not a good design in my opinion.
I completely agree that those icebrood wolves should have a bit of a longer tell for that damaging attack combo of theirs. I just have qualms with people saying 1-shot mechanics are everywhere even though they’re really not XD. Lots of people are under this illusion that defense doesn’t matter and everything will kill you in 1 hit anyway, so they go all out damage. Then they get downed in 1 or 2 hits and their illusion is reinforced.
And actually there might be something buggy with the icebrood wolf’s big damage attack combo. If you look at your combat log, the attacks actually do 2 hits at once sometimes, per visible hit. It doesn’t happen all the time and that’s why sometimes I can take two visible wolf hits and still survive and sometimes the second hit just downs me, both situations starting from full health and not being hit by anything else other than those attacks. But when it doesn’t go wonky I always survive from my full health of 18k on my guardian with about 3-5k hp to spare if I get hit by both. I don’t think that’s too bad a deal. Of course after the first hit I roll away and let a squishy eat the second pounce… which further reinforces their “defense doesn’t matter” illusion… oops >.>
>Guardian
I’d like to see how much your point of view would change if you played a low surv. class.
Heavy armored classes should be excluded from these topics by default.
I’m quite sure a heavy armored class with zerk has better survivability than an ele/thief with soldier/sentinel.
