Most people who don’t see it as a problem either are from a server that constantly switch colors or are in a dominating server, it’s not so funny when your server is locked with certain color for months.
Iv been in that position, had to wait weeks for SM to flip, and I am sure others have been in exactly the same position.
As has already been pointed out these types of threads pop up occasionally, as people only want the easy option. Its exactly the same as the thirst slayer achievement topic that surfaces from time to time, ’ ohhh booo hooo, I dont want to press the mouse button 100, 000 times, how can i do it the easy way’—-simple answer is, you cant, work for it!
I’m not asking for an easy option, there’s just no way to “work for it”. If you think WvW is about skill or hard work you obviously never played WvW, it’s all about numbers, you cannot beat a stacked server and there’s no workaround, their EBG towers and keep will never flip unless they want you to have them (never).
I had to wait two months at 99% just to get 1 vista, I enjoyed WvW before that, but during those two months I hated every second I spent hoping that my server could get the green keep in EBG (this was during S1) – it simply cannot happen when you’re outnumbered no matter the time of the day.
Like I said in the other thread, people who play in servers that a) is always dominant in a match up or b) constantly switch colors shouldn’t have a say in this topic, you haven’t experienced real frustration, you have no idea what you’re blabbering here.
Guess not, however I have my two gifts of exploration sitting happily in my bank for over a year and you do not, Il leave it to you to guess who is the happy one and the ‘experienced’ player.
I recommend you to Google the meaning of “had”, either that or go back to school and ask for a refund.
But congrats for being in a privileged server / doing it when transfers were free, says a lot about how skillful you are.

My server has been fighting in multiple tiers (including top) since launch, and rarely was it unable to do at least something on any map.
If you want the reward, stop making excuses and go do something to get it.
I’d like to see you 1-manning a keep, too much talk here. I’d almost bet you’re from T1 or TC.

I’ve also yet to get teabagged in wvw. This really happens commonly?
WvW is an extensive experiment on how simple “harmless” animations can be chained together into something vulgar, and there are many WvW players that are of the mindset to discover them.
Heck, you are lucky half the time if it’s not your own team that is degrading you for not being as uber-l33t as they are.
That sounds like a team I don’t want to be on. Maybe get a new guild or server, yeesh. I’ve never had that experience on TC or in my guild.
Maybe because in every single match up TC is dominating and is capable of taking any keep simply because they have more numbers?
Both people from servers that always get a population advantage in wvw and people from servers that constantly switch colors shouldn’t even have a say in this topic.
Just because of this I refuse to ever buy gems, I hope they enjoy the box sale, that’s all they’re getting from me.

And no, this is not a “personal problem” as some disparaging comments above tried to imply, this is a matter of game design.
A game design problem that is only a problem for you and OP.
Yeah, still looks like a personal problem.
This game is not developed based on your or OP’s vision of a what a game should be and you will have to live with that, design your own game if it bothers you that much.
“These events are not meant to be commonplace engagements and should not be treated as such” – Says who? Not meant to be rude, but you might have a wrong perception of world bosses, they are meant to be whatever both the developers and the players in general want them to be, and from what I read your vision of a world boss does not fit Anet’s or players’ in general. This doesn’t mean it should be changed to fit your ideals.
“As a side note, I’m a casual player who plays maybe a few hours a week and not everyday.” – As a casual I don’t think you should feel entitled to even suggest such changes that impact mostly non-casual players in a negative way. You see it as a problem when you barely take part in that content.
Tried repair now, nothing changed
And no my system isn’t old for this game at all, as I said I was playing perfectly even after Wintersday update, something is causing this FPS leak. I tried ending all unnecessary processes and leaving just gw2 but saw no improvement.
I hope the only fix is not reinstalling gw2, 20GB takes a lot to download with my bad net :/ I rather stop playing altogether.
I tried everywhere, LA, Divinity’s, WvW and random open world maps, it’s the same no matter where I go, plus everything was fine between Wintersday patch and when I took the break, I’m inclined to think this is caused by some random small patch that happened after Wintersday.
Sounds like a personal problem, I hope you can get used to timed events.
For some reason I’m getting 5~10 FPS no matter where I go or what settings I use, I stopped playing around 24 days ago (according to the TP) and everything was fine before, I haven’t installed anything since then and the problem seems to be just with GW2.
I doubt this is a specs issue as the game was perfectly fine after the last major content update (Wintersday), but just in case
Win 7 x64
Intel Core2Quad Q9400 @ 2.6 GHz
RAM 4GB
GPU HD 6570 (2GB)
So no one knows what was in that patch?
It was less than a month then, I left 3~4 days after Wintersday patch, this patch was around 55MB.
I logged in today after taking a break of about a month and for some reason my FPS dropped to ~5 wherever I go, pretty much unplayable. I saw my client installed a patch, is there any info about what exactly was in that patch?
Which one is supposed to be tradeable on the TP? I thought I remember that live stream before the ascended weapons came out some of the ingots were going to be sellable. Oh well.
I’d love to be able to salvage those ores and fragments into essences of luck or sell to vendor.
Is ascended amror tradeable on the TP? I would think not. I haven’t looked into it either. If it’s sellable on the TP I might actually get involved just to make some coin.
Ascended mats that are (partially) crafted from other time-gated mats are tradeable, as a way to bypass the time-gate.
Like Spiritwood Plank, which needs Glob of Elder Spirit Residue (limited crafting). Same with Deldrimor Steel Ingot, Bolt of Damask and Elonian Leather Square, not sure if there’s any other.
If the LFG tool is really kicking people from your party, I’m sure this is a bug and should be reported as such in the bug forums.
It was reported and was acknowledged by Anet, this thread is more of a PSA.
not the best solution but… every so often ask in Lion’s Arch for a group to enter a specific WvW map you need and get the places you need that way. Buy some rams.
Every week many servers aren’t as full leading up to the Friday reset so you might just get lucky on Thursday or Friday and ninja some places you need in WvW with a small group, which is better than waiting for weeks and weeks.
I hope this helps some people but, either way, good luck.
I don’t think you understand how bad this is for OP and most other people in SoS. We’re talking about the green keep of EBG.
This system seems to assign green to the highest ranked server of the match, which kind of implies they have higher coverage than the other two servers, that keep cannot be ninja’d, nor can be taken by a small group, as it’s heavily defended.
OP’s best choice is to pull an all nighter, SoS has a highly active oceanic wvw base and I’m quite sure they are capable of taking that keep.
Thief skill…. not so much. ;P
On paper the new healing spirit for the Ranger sucks like a hoover with a GT35 turbo @ 35psi… And if you look in the Ranger subforum it sucks in practice just as much. I’m sure when I finally get around to playing I will find it the same. It’s pretty hard to beat TU or HS.
I’m starting to think most skills were just planned “on paper” and went live without proper testing…
Lol, just yesterday I was checking the matchups and saw SoS get blue again, then I thought most SoS players were in the same situation I was.
I’m from Mag and we got stuck as red for all seven weeks of season 1, fortunately we got green as soon as we left season 1.
It’s beyond me how WvW is still part of world exploration, when you don’t really explore anything in a war zone like WvW.
Also, it’s a bit of the player’s responsibility to find out when a living story is ending, not go “I don’t know what fortnight means, how was I suppose to know it’d only last 2 weeks?”
as the ‘Fractured’ subforum will show, we desperately tried to ask them as to when it was ending, only to have them give us the ol’ cold shoulder the whole time.
It said “fortnight.” Patches are every 2 weeks. Fortnight means two weeks. What more do you want to know? (I will ignore people who reply that boss week was 2 weeks.)
But boss week was 2 weeks.
Over 100 rares salvaged now, still see no nerf.
If you salvage less than 10 don’t be surprised if you happen to not get favorable results, its hard to call it a bug with such low sample.
Are you all using master/mystic salvage kit?
Arcane Brilliance is good as a blast finisher, but terrible as a healing skill…
Maybe I’m too used to ether renewal and the removal of 8 conditions + heal on a 15s cd.
As long as PVE and PVP balance are not separated this will not happen.
Because something that will make a class viable in PVE can completely break it in PVP and vice versa.
QFT
It’s beyond me how they think they can balance both PvP and PvE without separating skills, that will never happen.
Maguuma is Maguuma. If they are close they’ll push kitten Monday-Wednesday and call it done.
I’m just surprised that YB could do so well. I don’t know about stomps, but I know I saw hellaciously high PPT the last 36 hours.
Oh well, keep it to yourselves then. Keep this up and we’ll probably find out in the next few weeks.
I honestly don’t know what happened either. I thought we were boned when LA was full almost 24/7 with the majority of our people doing wintersday stuff when we were behind. But we somehow pulled ahead.
Well, here’s my take on it, could be right or wrong, or somewhere inbetween.
As always, it’s the cause of a combination of things. The main fight for the win this between us and SBI. First, SBI pushed us down to third on the weekend. Then, the numbers turned more to our advantage during the week. Some of our commanders played more and rallied more people for us, and the patch reducing SBI numbers were probably the largest factors (but who knows, really). We got a foothold in SBI bl which further decreased SBI’s numbers/morale. Since we were too busy fighting SBI, Mag basically just moved into first place for free, even though they were just all over the place and never focused on anything. Then once we established a lead on SBI, we finally could spare to send significant numbers to Mag bl for an extended period for the first time since Friday.
Anyway, great week everyone, it’s been a lot of fun
.
We could say you moved into first place for free as well, I mean you had little to no resistance in SBI BL, pretty much the whole week.
The “main” commanders in Mag use keeps in other BLs as a bait to kill zergs, then abandon them and jump to another bl/building to repeat the process, and we all know SBI lost people with the new patch, not to mention YB was the only one actively trying to defend buildings in SBI BL.
tl;dr you are the only one trying for PPT.
I’m gonna call it bad luck as well, today I got even more than the average.
Ahem
The ecto rate is fine.
Yay for quoting a 5 months old post, you have solved the mystery of this thread.
Here’s your cookie: [cookie]
Do all world bosses with reset, finish my dailies if I didn’t already from the WB train, hop on WvW for a while or level my warrior, leave the game minimized and talk with friends on raidcall/read forums/play something else until I remember I left gw2 open and close it.
Seemed normal for me yesterday, 0.8 ectos / rare, I salvaged around 40 rares.
I’ll check again tonight after wb reset.
Just a general PSA (not for OP) copper-fed was fixed and you shouldn’t use it with your rares.
Liking PPT is a sin, repent and seek the path of the light.
Moreover, as already revealed, there is almost no one there who does not hate temporary things.
Can you provide any source where such thing was “revealed”?
I don’t hate temporary content, it’s better than a 30 GB game full of content but people only do 1/3 of it.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Collaborative-Development-Topic-Living-World/page/44#post3212239 here. It is difficult to find someone who is positive about temporary content.
And why is it actually better? If you want to get or do something in a constant content – you just go and do it. If you want to do or get something in GW2, it’s quite possible that it’s… oh… no longer exists.
If a newbie comes into game, friends tell him how much new is added, what he can do. When a newbie comes into GW2, friends tell him how much he missed allready and will never see.
Many players ragequit GW2, just because they have no time to do temporary things in timeframes and feel that they missed game process.
So what’s good about it?Are you sure you linked the correct post?
You talk as if this game didn’t have permanent content at all.
If someone joins today they won’t get to enjoy old living world content updates, but they still can experience the current and future content, plus some changes end up leaving permanent features, like the revamped Tequatl, TA aether path and the addition of Southsun.
I find temporary content to be good way to prevent a flood of new content leaving previous content obsolete, while still leaving some permanent additions from time to time.
As for “Many players ragequit GW2” it would be good if we all could refrain from pretending to be the voice of the community, whatever we say is not the opinion of “many”, speak only for yourself.
If people don’t like how this game is being designed there are many other MMOs out there that might fit them better, our devs are not forcing anyone to agree with their development / design choices.
You could just read this topic and many things would become clear.
I’m asking for specific evidence of your claim, if you had none you could’ve said so.
Unless you’re implying all 2252 replies to that thread are about LW updates being temporal, or that the people commenting there represent the majority of GW2 community.

Reason: Nothing is set on stone.

It’s a bit pointless in this case, we will get some major changes to traits, some traits wont be the same and some will move from (for example) being III to XI
You haven’t denied the claim that you got all crafts to 400.
Ahh, I didn’t get a chance to play in the beta, I started during the three day headstart in Aug. I always wondered about that guy. Shame I didn’t get a chance to fight him. Any chance you might add him back anet?
No chance I’m afraid. With the current state of some or most world event you can tell no one in Anet cares about world bosses anymore.
And this, my friends, is the reason why what is said on the forums do not reflect the general opinion in game.
and this post here is why the game never goes past it carrot on stick one month zerg fest
I don’t think you understood what I meant…
The rewards were fine IMO, for me the best reward was the title.
I’m a PvE player who casually plays WvW and I got most achievements without actually trying, just by playing the game and having fun, I only had to go out of my usual gameplay to cap 50 ruins and like 70 supply camps, the reward chest was just a bonus.
Urmaug’s secret as well, or one one of the borderlands jp in WvW, I kinda enjoy doing them :P (and there’s a chance to get alpha golem blueprints)
Depends on the title, I liked “Veteran of the Mists”, that alone is a good reward for me.
And this, my friends, is the reason why what is said on the forums do not reflect the general opinion in game.
According to wiki, if the champ is not killed, the Shadow Behemoth will not appear.

“Defeat the champion rotting ancient oakheart event must be completed as it prevents the swamp meta events from triggering”It can be failed by simply not doing it.
Not a fail… From the oak side the event remains there, from the sb side oak considered a “block” and it will advance as soon as it’s done.
Lol at that golem rush. How many was it?
A lot, like 10. It would have worked if we didn’t kitten off SoS before going to your keep :P
If they relied only on box sales and expansions to maintain this game, this would have shut down long time ago, expansions simply do not generate the same money as a purely cosmetic gem store, and each of them have a different impact in the game.
What’s so wrong about developing something different? If you want to play a typical MMO you have plenty of games out there you can try, people are not supposed to enjoy every game style.
From my PoV, I like that there’s more daily options available to get some chests faster, sometimes I do just 5 dailies, sometimes I do more depending on what’s available, I don’t understand why this should be taken away just because some people lack self-control.
If the only problem is lack of self-control in some people, then why, as someone up there suggested, not make say… 300 dailies available each day? If only good things come from more choices, why not? And why were dungeon runner and salvager achievements capped (they were infinite at launch)? What was the reason if supposedly the only possible problem would be lack of self-control of some people to salvage 10,000 items per day?
Why not 300? Pretty good suggestion, I hope Anet takes it into consideration, as I assume that part of the post was directed at them, not me.
Why did they decided to cap dungeon runner and agent of entropy? Also pretty good question, I hope Anet answers you that one.But what I’m stating is directed at you (plural), the people who are suggesting a cap to daily AP not because we gain too much AP, but because you’re “feeling tired of grinding”. I’m not sure why you’re asking me about previous decisions taken by the devs, when neither of us know their reasons.
The problem with these suggestions aren’t just the suggestions themselves, but also the reasons behind them.
I think the reasons they did not do something like that are pretty obvious. As it stands, they only have rewards up to 25k AP. People could achieve that sitting in LA spam clicking salvages for hours straight. Same with having a huge amount of available AP each day. At 300 a day, people would get all their chest rewards in a matter of weeks.
Alright, I see why the limit on salvaging and 300 dailies per day, but for our current system doesn’t have 300 dailies, I still don’t see why it should be limited from the AP gain point of view, which leads back to the only reason you guys want it to be nerfed: because you lack self-control.
At the start of the game: 4 dailies completable in 20min by everyone —-> now about 14 PVE/WvW dailies (exact changes all the time depending on living story) which make you go out of your way like doing a story dungeon or personal story even thought you played it all plenty of times already + 4 PvP dailies (+ more to come). Its a worrying trend.
I still only need to finish 5 things for my daily…. I just have more options to choose from.
It’s all optional. Nobody is holding a gun to your head, saying you must finish every single daily every single day.
And nobody said we’re forced to finish every of them. But we like to be able to complete them all, we have fun doing it. Unless there is so many of them that it is not fun anymore, then we would have lost something we loved.
I do think giving players more options to complete their daily is a good move, but if it kills what I love to do in the game I wont be happy about that. Therefore, we are searching for solutions that please everyone.
Completing all = having fun
but now if there’s too many of them = not having fun
then… don’t complete all if its no longer fun? With so much content available, you shouldn’t have problems finding something else to do where you also have fun.
If this was the only part of the game you considered fun, then I’m sorry for your loss.
“A new player joining GW2 in late 2014 would still be a good 6 months away from acquiring the base set of ascended gear”
Does it really take 6 months to craft all 6 pieces?
a new player won’t have amassed any wealth in game which will make the initial part of crafting expensive (since next to nothing below exotic at the moment can be crafted to break even or generate a profit and if most players have ascended I imagine exotic will have no buyers either making crafting all together unprofitable)
What would be the difference between “amassing” wealth now and in 2015? What if making money becomes easier over the time? What if “a state where a large percentage of the current player base has full ascended gear”makes required mats go down over the time, as less people will be needing this gear?
What I don’t see is how crafting in 2015 would be any different time-wise than starting crafting it in Dec 10, assuming nothing changes.
Who would still buy exotic? Maybe the same people (or more) that currently wear exotic weapons by choice or as a starter.
“A new player joining GW2 in late 2014 would still be a good 6 months away from acquiring the base set of ascended gear”
Does it really take 6 months to craft all 6 pieces?
How long ago was it that ascended weapon crafting was put in the game? I have not been able to create one and still need around 50 lvls before I can even think about it. Now to create 18 weapons for all my chars is going to take a while. And 48 armor pieces to come with them. I doubt I can do this in 6 months
I don’t know how long it was, but it took me 1 month to get my weapon, and I mean 1 month not wanting to craft ascended, then randomly decided to do it. It only took me a few days to get lvl 500 craft and make the actual weapon.

I’m not against champ train, I actually enjoy it from time to time whenever I feel like doing it (2~3 times a week for like 1 hour) with the exception of queensdale’s champ train, or any other starting zone champ train, those simply don’t belong there.
