So, I read a lot a while ago on the bloodstones and the Unseen etc – whom retained all elements of their magic and hid away from the other races.
Are there any races in GW2 which have ‘full’ magic potential?
Since the bloodstones were by result of the gods (and created by seers), is it possible to negate the effects of said bloodstone?/potentially bring the gods back into the fold? (It is an interesting element after all)
If the Mursaat do return; would their magic be ‘corrupted?’ by the elder dragons?
Would the Mursaat be hive-minded and a pawn of the dragons? Or would they retain the assumed individuality of the race. I would presume the latter, as the Sylvari (a weak race) could resist Modremoth, you’d assume the Mursaat could wholly resist.
(edited by Animism.9803)
Bring the Mursaat back in full-force. Make Lazarus asexual or something.
The idea of the race was really interesting, and the similar races we have in GW2 I just find to be lesser.
I think it would be a top notch race to introduce. Forget all these karka/chak designs. I remember the karka in LS1, and they quickly became uninteresting.
Delve into their lore and history slightly, beyond that of the bloodstone etc.
I haven’t heard anything as cool in GW2 as a selfish and incredibly powerful spellcaster race that forsook the other races to keep their magic to themselves, hiding from vision and delaying fate.
Honestly the lore from GW1 around the bloodstones, tome of rubicon etc, was really interesting fantasy. Not to say that Glint’s legacy isn’t, but the style of lore and storytelling has changed a lot.
With puppy eyesPleeeaaaaaaaaaaaaase?
Maybe the mursaat have been hiding and rebuilding, perhaps the next elder dragon threatens their race also, and they reveal themselves in full-force and assault some magical aspect, finally playing a role in the world so that the other races can finish the job. Maybe they realise they cannot defeat the dragon without help. Surely they must have some incredible knowledge of such lore and historic dragon-related events, given their characteristics.

mmorpg differ from single player games, repeatable content is required because there is no mmo on the planet that can generate new content that is played once and last for years. MmoRPG players get this. As I said ‘menial’ is a term in somebody’s head’ You could say repeating fights in PVP is ‘menial’ you could say fighting any form of NPC is ‘menial’ you could say crafting over and over is ‘menial’, you could say walking anywhere is ‘menial’. I’m going through that list of collections right now, and I don’t find it menial, I see it has a progressive set of goals that I am aiming towards over a number of years, and I guestimate ive spent maybe 50k hours in RPGs over the years, so theres little I have not seen in 1 form or another.
This ‘menial’ thing is actually ‘I Don’t like’
Yes. I don’t like it because it’s menial. Because, that’s what it is. Lacking any prestige or skill. Maybe it’s just me, but the term ‘legendary’, gives me the idea that making it should have some prestige and be skillful along the way (hey, didn’t everyone else say that?)
“Purchased from Arias after assisting him in maintaining his garden. "
“Found within the Dragon Chest after defeating Tequatl the Sunless. "Right. Because we haven’t all done such generic rubbish before. This is a definition of a grind, when it is not fun and it is menial.
And the lists go on.
Of course it is subjective and based on perspective. Good luck finding a large demographic of MMORPG players who fancy wasting their time doing pointless elements. May as well go play Runescape and level to 99 again. Sounds familiar.
I actually preferred the old legendaries; in that there were multiple ways to obtain them, and before anyone whines on about gold selling and purchasing online… having them as collections really changes nothing but kitten off the genuine players who would have potentially liked to have crafted said legendaries. Now the real ‘kiddies’ who would have previously bought legendaries will buy accounts with them. I don’t really understand the reasoning for this style, to be honest.
But there is a big demographic of people who do this stuff. They’re called roleplayers or immersion players.
Like when I made the precursor for Kudzu, I had to go all around the world gathering flowers to plant in a garden. Each thing I’ve done before. Nothing really amazing. But the idea of what I was doing made it interesting for me. I wasn’t playing a mechanic, I was planting a garden.
If you play the game only looking at mechanics, as many do, the whole legendary quest is menial. If you go through the game with a roleplayers mind, you see a different process altogether.
There are a lot of you out there. But there are also a lot of us out there.
That is fine, I have no quarrel with this. Roleplayers are a part of the MMORPG scene, and I somewhat enjoy elements of it. I wouldn’t suggest to remove such elements, but change in a way in which other types of players will also be able to enjoy.
A great example could even be the Tyria mastery points. I have absolutely no interest or intention of completing the LS2 story achievements for mastery points – I quite despise the achievement designs and was not a fan of the story, but I wouldn’t have them removed. Why they tied a large game element to it when there was so much backlash to the living world, I don’t have a clue.
Unfortunately this is not the way to run a business. People think it is. They think appeal to everyone. You can’t run a business appealing to everyone or you’ll run out of money and time. Some people won’t like your product and those people will leave. Or they’ll complain on forums.
But they’re still not a huge majority and that’s the issue. Let’s say you look at the number of people over all who work on legendaries. My guess it it’s already a small percent of the game. Then you take that and you divide it from the core legendaries. We know not everyone has hot and not everyone who has it likes it or plays it. That means only a subset of people who work on legendaries will be working on hot legendaries.
As they are each of these legendary quests takes time to make, reusing the older content. Imagine how much harder/more time consuming/more costly they would be to make a different quest chain of challenging stuff for guys like you.
Then you have guys that don’t like the challenge complaining that they can’t get them.
You kitten off one subset or the other. But kittening off one is cheaper, because the other one demands more time and energy be spent. I hate to break it to you but I don’t think there are enough of you to put that into the budget, strictly as a business decision.
In fact, we see that legendaries, new ones, don’t have enough backing to suggest to Anet that would be a valuable use of resources, since they put all the new legendaries on indefinite hold.
So how much less likely is it then that they’re going to cater to the more demanding demographic. You may want that. You may prefer it, but many other people won’t prefer it, and then you end up with too much money to do this thing and it’s gone.
Every time people demand challenging content and Anet obliges, a fairly large demographic of casual players feels more and more disenfranchised. Legendaries is one of the things that can keep those players playing.
Why would Anet change that?
They changed the status quo of legendaries from core to HoT. That surely deters more players than it benefits.
I agree with what you say though, although I don’t believe that the content expected for new legendaries would be unreasonable, especially if in a context where more players would be interested in it as a result of new players and an ‘unchanging’ system.
When I heard about the upcoming legendaries, by the description, I was expecting them to be much easier to obtain than the previous legendaries.
I still think Anet are trying to cover everything – GW1 was succesful by lore and game mechanics, the latter which GW2 definitely progressed. I think if Anet were trying to solely target their main demographic, then the story for Heart of Thorns and lore involved would be written and presented better. The story was and has always been my largest concern for GW2.
I actually just thought about the possibility of adding more realism into the story. Sexism and chauvinistic behaviors. This isn’t meant to resemble a modern society, and is somewhat an ‘older’ fantasy world. It’s just a random example of how the story doesn’t feel very realistic. It’s not meant to encourage it, just like adding a couple lesbians into the story for effect doesn’t encourage behaviour, it is just a game after all.
There are shamanic grawl, can’t we have them talking about gender pairing just for increased believability of the world, and I don’t literally mean make the grawl do this specifically.
There are just so many things that could make the world seem better.
Again, shamanic grawl, barely hear anything god-wise in GW2. I miss the gods and the feel of reflected traits from said deity’s.
I suppose I could go on forever about sections of the lore and world which don’t really add up.

All you are doing is justifying your dislike of something with the term ‘Menial’. Long term collection goals have been in RPG’s since day 1 in the 70/80s. People who enjoyed them then, enjoy them now. The difference in this day and age is people seem to think because they don’t like a thing it must be poor design (sits along the other fad of calling something a ‘gate’). Those demographics you refer to are the very players that enjoy what you think is menial, and the players Anet clearly see as an important part of the player base and they have the metrics and experience to see this.
As for the old legendaries, I didn’t like them Because they could be bought, and like the new ones because they require long term effort. You just don’t understand or enjoy long term RPG goals that have an element of collecting about them
No it’s because over time as the target audience grew, people realised that such designs were poor and didn’t attract a large player base.
There is no logic to your argument. You didn’t like the old legendaries because they could be bought? So can the new ones technically?
What does a list of bizzare tasks do to make anything different?
The old legendaries were still a long enough challenge to craft yourself, or obtain the gold to buy them.
And again… we aren’t talking about long-term collection goals, i’m not debating that; we’re talking about absurd lists of irrelevant tasks.
" Anet clearly see as an important part of the player base and they have the metrics and experience to see this." – Isn’t this nice and subjective. You mean like all the players who quit? Long-standing fans of Anet? The potential players lost by the array of negative reviews? Your idea of an ‘important’ part of the player-base is sketchy at best.
In my mind, Anet CLEARLY have tried all along with GW2 to open the demographic as wide as they could. – Esports, WvW, PvE contasts.
Trying to satisfy one crowd would be ridiculous, why not satisfy all possible? – and on that note, we could engage in a massive discussion about how elements didn’t live up to expectations and left masses dis-satisfied.

Let them choose and find out for themselves.
But if they really want somewhat advice; pick main classes – Guardian, Mesmer, Elementalist (‘hard’, skill level may increase faster), Warrior. Engi is fun but complicated (and I don’t really play it)

Please do this for loot containers (champ chests), maybe even take it further and reduce the number of variations of champion chests. Visual clutters really aren’t impressive.
You guys are all arguing one simple point “It would be hard for this to happen so it can’t”
If that’s all you got out of my post, then you didn’t read it.
To simplify, I said:
- Despite your argument, it is not needed to progress the plot.
I never said this was needed, i. Think it would be very smart for them to do something much larger scale than they have in the past
Agree. Something with more presence and relevence.
The other parts of the legendary are already long enough without the individual HoT collections, the list of menial things to do in those is just too long…
it ’s legendary, its meant to be a huge journey, and i think Nevermore (as an example) is at a nice length.
Being ‘menial’ is a classification you have applied in your head, especially considering you have to visit all content in the game pretty much to complete the tasks and gifts – so all gameplay in GW2 is therefore menial according to this state of mind., in which case why are you playing?
If you re-read the comment, it’s regarding the lists of collections (HoT collection achievements)
I.e..
That’s the first tier.
In what world, shape or form, are those tasks listed not menial?
Barely any of the lists contain new content or tasks – and is instead rehashed old content.
Guys, we are in 2016. Do you know where is this story getting to? I will tell you.
It is the hippie PC culture. What is going to happen:
1. Heroes will take care of baby dragon
2. they will help it to grow into a compassionate loving fluffy dragon
3. This dragon will eat the extra magic and
a. keep the other dragons at bay
OR
b. with the help of the players kill the bad dragons and possibly somehow get more baby good dragons.
Hahaha. You know that sounds like typical GW2 cheesiness. Oh god please no.
Masteries are rewards for mastering the game. You can’t master some content? You won’t get mastery for it. It is a simple endgame progress system.
Oooof, never realised masteries required so much skill, and weren’t… you know… menial boring tasks.
I agree mostly with what the OP is saying. But there are a lot of cosmetics in the game mate. Anet have pretty well-established that they’ll kitten skins out on the TP. As for the legendaries… well…. yeah… can’t get them unless you grind content which you don’t want to play. Fun times eh?
Or choose the mystery box: Change the plans and story. Not liking the sound of where this is going…
“Would you like a side of cheese with that, sir?”
I actually prefer your suggestion. I voted for Eternity’s Guard, just because it sounded the least lame. They all sound like typical over-rated fan clubs in the world of Tyria, but I think that’s mostly due to the whole over-glorification.
Don’t make a name for this next group… too cheesy and corny… Rename the alliance between world leaders (pact) to something better and symbolic of recent events, showing solidarity. Surely that sounds better than an irrelevent flashy new name that feels like it has little context.
You say it is rare to see in games; I don’t think it’s rare in GW2. Main characters of the storyline are lesbians and then again, potential lesbians. No gay dudes though. Always about the chicks and bewbs apparently, that’s life. Main male characters include Canach; the randomly passionate one, Rytlock; the overly abrasive one and Braham; the small mood-swinging friendly giant. Might have forgotton Logan – but I don’t think anyone cares about that character, lets be honest.
Pretty sure the almost ‘new-age’ touch was intentional in attempt to interest a larger demographic, but I think it had an opposite effect in that it lost touch with main story elements.
Best white mantle storyline progression in my mind:
Reintroduce the most interesting race (in my opinion) that Anet have created.
Long live the Unseen! Maybe Lazarus mastered asexual reproduction.
@ Konig. If you don’t take some risks and prioritize elements then you will lose far more potential players than you would current players. More value in the former.
IMO – With all the failures GW2 has had so far (subjective, don’t comment just to disagree), they should be focusing on what made GW1 successful to begin with – A good fantasy story, which was on a tiny budget in comparison.
When I heard GW2 was coming out, I expected epicness round every corner, what I found was disappointing.
@swagger
This lore is a continuation from GW1 lore, so a few gaps should be expected, but besides some white mantle specific lore, the story is all in game., and each encounter does serve a purpose to the whole story, even slothosor which is a representation of the excessive flow of magic creating (of white mantle case being used) to become/be stronger.again now you just seem to purposely not want to see the dots connect in the story because you seem to dislike the fact that in order to progress in it you must be on team speak in order to defeat the encounters. So this isn’t a story issue, this is a “i don’t like raids” issue.
Got to jump in here. Whilst the story is obviously a continuation from GW1, it’s shaky at best. The whole style of lore has changed dramatically and in it’s storytelling. I haven’t liked it since GW2 was released and keep hoping it gets better. Heart of Thorns was an improvement but still a bit shoddy. The raid lore can only be compared to that of dungeons and fractals; which is just discorded and has no real flow or presence.
The other comments on this thread, typical “go play another game”, is just naive. The game is still fun to play in other aspects, it’s just a massive shame that lore falls so short, especially for a game that originated and was centered around lore. (GW1) Prior to EOTN, I can’t name many areas that felt out of place for the world created. Contrast that statement to GW2 and you’d be shocked by the list of things that feel majorly out of place.
Wait until you do a fractal with 4 randomers, who have a lot of pride but do not know mechanics. At which point you try to help and explain so things will be done, when they call you a noob and kick you.
There is elitism everywhere, even what I’d say in response: kitten the morons.
- Understand basic mechanics (ie, blinds and reflections on mobs)
9/10 times a LFG fractal group doesn’t account for blinds or projectile reflects and it makes you want to cry.
Caladbolg is part of the quest. It’s highly likely they’ll put it as a gemstore skin given their track record.
The other parts of the legendary are already long enough without the individual HoT collections, the list of menial things to do in those is just too long…
Agree completely with OP.
FAR too many currencies and paralleled items, especially since HoT.
Hell… even all the different champion chests.
The characters do develop and become much better the later it gets. What you say is true though. It’s not very good
Just throwing it out there. If you aren’t going to repeat story missions loads of times for all those achievements and subsequent mastery points – I HIGHLY DOUBT we’ll ever be able to get it.
Joy
Now have multiple versatile mighty & mighty infusions sat in the bank, as it’s just more of an inconvenience to create another armour set. Goooooooooooooooooood times.
Personally. If I’d complain about the difficulty in any way, it would be in regards to getting Mastery points. I do not find it fun to repeat story quests for all those achievements. I don’t even want to read a kitten Dulfy guide on full achievements for LS2, I would quite frankly rather not play.
It seems a bit of a joke that all the legendaries are being made with a requirement of max masteries.
LOL…. Just realised they realeased all these new legendaries… none of which I’ll be able to get.
I was looking at making Nevermore, then I saw the achievement collections, in addition to the maximum mastery (Nuhoch/Exalted etc) to get the gifts.
Is this for real? I’m now expected to do all the achievements for mastery points just to craft a single of the legendary weapons?
………………. Wow.
Guess I won’t be getting any. I’d rather not play than even continue to read through the contents of the huge collection lists.
It’s strange that they actually have physical gender aspects but no actual gender in that case. Like the typical physical build of a man/woman with voices to match, but no genitalia or partnering by that. Just seems a bit incongruent.
Nah I’ve seen all the story now, can’t really be spoilers.
That’s a good deduction actually.
There sure are a lot of lead female characters, lol.
So like…
All of the living world 2 focuses a lot on Marjory & Kasmeer’s relationship, pretty sure the language directly infers they are lovers, that’s pretty much fine.
But then the same style of language is used between Faolin and Caithe? Is this another legit lesbian story or a ‘sisterly’ love. I want to say the latter but, the language just seems so out of context.
-> Legitimately have never been able to tell.
Hey I play a game to be a beast
So having to do each living story 3 or 4 times in order to get all the achievements and hence the mastery point isn’t repetitive? Seems like a lot of you like them korean grindfests and think that this isn’t grind here.
Having to do and redo bosses isn’t grind? Having to keep doing fractals isn’t grind?
I’m sitting with full exp bars on all the available masteries but still earning exp is just a waste of time. But there’s no grind there at all is there? Too many fanbois and whiteknights here to accomplish anything. It’s not grind any more than doing a dungeon to beat it before the first time you beat it is a grind. It’s only a grind if you have to repeat the same thing. Maybe you weren’t around when the term grind started getting used in MMO but it was always just about killing mobs to level because you couldn’t get enough XP from quests.
So in Aion for example, if you did every quest, you’d still not have enough experience to go to the next quest hub without killing the same three bosses over and over again dozens of times, if not more,. just to advance to the next quest hub. That’s grinding.
Doing a story instance and having to do something and then having to do a different thing? Not grinding. Not by any definition I’ve EVER heard.
You know calling someone a fan boy or a white knight to dismiss what people are saying doesn’t at all strengthen your argument.
And not being a white knight doesn’t automatically make you right, even though what you’re saying implies that it does. In this case, I’m pretty sure most people with experience in MMOs would disagree with what you’re saying here. Not just fan boys and white knights.
I consider repeating the same event over and over for alternate mastery points a grind. Just did the DS meta event for the first time. Cannot believe an hour+ of my life was just spent stood there having sod all happen. Twice again for mastery points?
Don’t want to complain about it much… but… not a fan.
The games direction has been heading downhill since the first LS1 imo… thats not to say it couldn’t recover with a great expansion, but good luck.
If I have already spent so much time and money. Why should I be spending more time and money because of Anets mistake. I find that to be a bit belittling to be honest. They should have just made a recipe to change the +5 to +7 whilst keeping the stat…….
I suppose they could do that, for another 500 gold each…
It should be a simple/cheap upgrade. The price of making the initial 5/5’s are already pricey as hell.
Nope.
The solution is already in game. Anet already solved this problem with greatly increased the drop rate of +1’s, so that overall, agony infusions have massively dropped in price, thus getting (5) + 15’s, is not that hard to accomplish, they also address not needing the +16’s, as Mistlock will give you the +5 you need to max to 150, just in case you needed to have that 150 for whatever reasons.
On top of that, as others have pointed out, you don’t really need the full 150AR to run daily T4 fractals as 130 is enough, which you can get to using + 12 to + 13’s, which are very affordable.
……………………………………………………………………..
That is not a solution, buddy.
You did process that this post is about having +5 stats on top of infusions, and Anet not fixing those infusions? It is the solution.
Anet designed the game for manufacture of higher Agony Infusions which could accommodate the use of +5’s, if you opt to not use them, that is on you, ‘buddy’ not Anet.
We paid thousands of gold for the infusions. With the new fractal infusions, there should have been a recipe to upgrade the 5/5’s. Why the hate and unreasonable thinking?
All you’ve done is suggest we pay hundreds more gold than everyone else, on top of what we have already paid.
Just stop. Buddy.
Lets see if I can sum this up for ya buddy, Anet has had the solution in game since pre-HoT, but you don’t want to use it, and you claim I’m the one being unreasonable.
You are misunderstanding the issue.
All you’ve done is suggest we pay hundreds more gold than everyone else, on top of what we have already paid.Does that sound reasonable to you, does it?
lol actually that does sound reasonable. youve already paid so much more than “everyone else” that “everyone else” would have bought a legendary with the gold instead, because that much gold is a ridiculous expenditure for something so completely unnecessary to completing fractals.
Ok, to keep your old legendaries mate, lets pretend HoT was released and all legendary stats were placed down to exotic stats. A new 200g mystic forge recipe was done which ‘upgrades’ the legendary to higher stats.
Great.
Do you mean My old Legendary, which was an exotic with solders stats, that I needed to transmute to give it different stats?
But also, nothing was down graded, there was just a minor change to the system.
Lets use different example, lets say I needed to pay 200 gold and Mystic Forge recipe to put a Vipers option on my Legendary.
Yah, I’d pay that, if it mattered to me to have vipers on my Legendary Weapon.
Yeah, the downgrade example was not that good – but neither was yours. It would have been more like as if legendaries never received that bump to ascended tier. Though i bet you’d be saying then that anyone wealthy enough to craft a legendary would be also wealthy enough to craft an ascended weapon and transmute it.
Which, again, would be completely missing the point, by the way.
I’m not always the best with analogies :P.
I think they are two different leagues, the 5/5 infusions will obviously require the same upgrade for 7 AR as the normal 5-7 infusions are. The price should be relative, and the same goes for any example for legendaries.
If I have already spent so much time and money. Why should I be spending more time and money because of Anets mistake. I find that to be a bit belittling to be honest. They should have just made a recipe to change the +5 to +7 whilst keeping the stat…….

5/5 infusions are not a new thing, whereas 7/5 infusions would be. Vipers is new. There is a difference here.
Our legendaries did not become unpractical as a result of a new stat combo, it’s a different situation, where as 5/5 infusions are now unpractical as it hasn’t received the update.

What you mean with “Flower Power”, exactly?
I think he’s referring to us Sylvari ..and he’s using the F word. That’s racist.
Haha. Nah, I actually think the Sylvari are probably one of the best elements in the game, their lore feels fitting when reading through it all.
In regards to the ‘flower power’ comment, I know it’s a very vague statement, but I feel it does exemplify what I mean with the overall story aesthetic.
There are many elements to the story, and most of which I find to be impersonal and unbelievable. From some of the voice acting – seemingly glossed over in many areas, to a lack of care with the exposure to story scenes.
I don’t think I have the time to analyze every single scene, but even looking over some of the voice acting of the Norn – a giant race, some with…. incredibly soft-spoken voices? (In my mind right now, namely Eir) I haven’t found one scene of her speaking where it fits the character.
It feels the cultures of the races have been fairly eluded – perhaps Asura aside, their magic is almost a centre-piece. The change in style of Norn and Charr from GW1 to GW2 is just unbelievable. The Norn were brute hunters… naive and overly proud. The charr were shamanic, (I know this rightfully changes from Pyre onwards) but even a similarity between Pyre and the charr in GW2 is incredibly hard to make.
The races all seem to converge into a happy-fappy ‘socialist?’ world. Hell I couldn’t even believe Scarlet’s character, far too many human emotions for a corrupted naturistic creature, the hysterical laughter and insanity just didn’t seem to fit. The ‘evil’ or ‘insane’ nature of her character just seemed underplayed for what the world contains – almost comparable to a kids movie, and I feel this applies to a lot of elements in the game, from the interaction between races to their culture itself.
Again, it’s hard to make such a vague comparison – but compare the ‘evil’ dialogue of Scarlet to that of Varesh’s dialogue in GW: Nightfall. The language used is so much more effective and fitting, voice-acting aside (budget plays a huge role). If I was asked which one I thought was more believable in somewhat terms of ‘demonic’ possession, Varesh wins by a mile.

Well, depends. I don’t find it reasonable to spend 5K on a 5/5 stat item, But, obviously you did, by your own admission, a few times over, equally so, if you have that kind of finds/time to invest so much for so little gain, it’s hard to truly understand why you are suddenly fussing about spending a little more.
That’s like saying why citizens would be unhappy about higher taxes.
The reason I bought them was so it could be the MAX gear, never having to be particularly upgraded again. It’s the highest tier you can achieve, which Anet constantly refer to as never changing, yet those with this tier of armour suddenly have to pay more to keep it or suck it up.

The amount of people just in real life I’ve known to reject this game, because of how the story is – should be a real concern to Anet.
And yet apparently it isn’t. Instead they’re happy with the new change of direction and the mass influx of money into their new game. I suspect if they knew all those people in real life you know things might be different. You should invite them all to the game so they can comment on what they’d like done differently.
Everyone I know in real life who played GW1, said the story and lore was mostly really interesting, and that’s on a game which had a miniscule budget.
They should all come on here and say that then, it’s no good when only one person acts as the spokesperson for a bunch of other people, especially when it’s everyone you know in real life as that sounds like a lot of people.
That is incredibly belittling.
To be honest, you can’t expect hundreds of people to come and give feedback for a game. – I get paid for game feedback in my job, yet here I am writing for free, as I have done many times.
I’m here because I would actually like to see the game excel.Of course Anet want the game to expand and reach a larger audience – and they have had comments since release regarding the quality of the story. The funny thing is – no company can expect a disinterested player to post the reasons why they didn’t like it, a lot of people don’t have the time, don’t really care, or wouldn’t be bothered to give feedback for ‘just’ a game.
The fact there are posts regarding the underworked story speaks for itself.
Of course you can start discussing how Anet treat their feedback – do they listen to the posts that only have thousands of people agreeing and devalue the posts from the few disinterested players who decided to give feedback? (You aren’t going to find many of them given the nature – potentially missing big opportunities)P.S You misread the last quote.
It’s also true. You can not speak for other people, since we have no idea how accurate your reporting for these other people’s opinions are. You can only speak for yourself. Trying to bolster your opinion with the back up opinions of all the people you know who you claim agree with you doesn’t make your argument stronger.
I don’t need to report others opinions to make my argument stronger.
As I said, it’s obvious that not all players will come to give feedback.
The presence of my post is enough. Take my claim of others opinions with a pinch of salt, or with full belief, I don’t care.
That is the problem with speaking for others, people can devalue it by questioning your authenticity, as laughable as one finds this on a game forum.
What do you expect, someone unpaid, to make a full report and collect feedback for Arenanet?

Why is that?
You don’t understand why people are surprised in the downgrade of quality of lore from GW1 to GW2?
To be honest with you, myself and others I know expect such a fantasy game to be story/lore-driven. None of us prior to GW2 release expected such a change in style.
Trailers and introductions were strong in setting the precedence of world.
The amount of people just in real life I’ve known to reject this game, because of how the story is – should be a real concern to Anet.
It’s great the game attracts people who will play regardless of lore, but why not satisfy en masse? I think it’s ludicrous to say that a strong story would not attract a ton of players. – Everyone I know in real life who played GW1, said the story and lore was mostly really interesting, and that’s on a game which had a miniscule budget.

Incidently, I have multiple sets of 5/5s on different characters. So you can see why I’m kittened off that something like 10k gold was spent and now they are somewhat irrelevent.
