I’ve seen it done in at least one other game. Not terribly keen on a reprise of that.
So, in all seriousness, with regards to the achievements and such…are the puzzles still somewhere on the maps? There was nothing jumpy or puzzly that I could find.
I liked Caithe and Faolain. I liked exploring their past. Better than the Norn characters tbh.
(Nothing wrong with lesbians either. They’re no different than boring kitten rom-com straight couples. Give us a Charr/Asura romance. That would be fun.)
Are these gone now? I’ve spent a couple hours of lost wandering and can’t seem to find them.
The old launcher had caithe (a sylvari, for those who live under a rock, or in Hoelbrak.) They are connected to Mordremoth. Now it’s changed to Rytlock, a charr. Kralkatorrik is the one who made the Brand, which is in Charr lands.
Or something to that extent.
I’m hoping for the scythe to return, especially since it’s pretty much the only “staff” that looks like a melee weapon. And by the time I’d ever manage to save up 3-4k, someone will have bought them all or the sun would explode into a red giant, vaporizing the earth.
How about more normal polearms (even if it’s just under the existing skin catagories)? Glaive, halberd, pike, spear, guisarme, voulge…
Trehearne is cool. I like him. I think he and Faolin are probably my favorite characters…
Better than fruit-charr. How the hell did the Order let in someone so…clueless.
I got a thornroot one, and it was permanent.
I think it’s just mainly an EOTM thing, as most map chats seem rather inane, relevant to the map or class discussion…
Then you go into EoTM, the person with the tag is cursing some random person, who is also cussing out the tagger, cussing out the other teams, yelling at each other over literally every single move that gets made until there’s two tags and a massive amount of confusion. It’s like all the hatred in the game trickled to EoTM and congealed there into a screaming, cussing puddle of wtf. I’ve never seen an EoTM where that didn’t happen.
I don’t understand the whole “this is the internet” logic. It’s like saying “Yes, there’s a massive pile of rotting dogkitten on the floor, but it’s my house, so you gotta expect that.” We gotta make an effort to clean up the dogkitten. It’s beginning to smell weird and it’s staining the carpet.
Maybe it’s just my stupid luck, but try and do Tequatl at least once a day (I’ve had three ascended weapons drop from him). I’ve found that weapons drop far more frequently than armor. It really depends on your luck with RNG
Also, silverwastes is a decent source of the ascended materials you’ll need, to say nothing of the metric ton of silk.
I like the hearts. x.x
They’re more interesting than traditional quests, more static than events, and some of them are fun as hell.
Someone explain to me the logic that someone cannot play both PvE and PvP. I can’t say I know a single PvP player who doesn’t do both, and I’m in a PvP guild.
That being said, I’ve only ever met trollish pvp players in pvp trolling their own matches, because they apparently have nothing better to do, so idk.

Hoping for a new scythe because I know I’ll never have even close to 3k gold. x.x
How about the opposite? The Noble count outfit is utterly useless on female characters. It turns from lovely suit into swooshy hoop dress.
The old system were a boss can drop 1 of 7-20 dif items and you only need 1 of them only problem is so do 2-5 other people in your raid/group.
Yea you never had to pray for rng or grind at all /sarcasm off
It depends on the game I guess, that’s why we can’t make an accurate comparison between systems.
In Lotro for example bosses dropped specific raid tokens with 100% chance every time. So one boss dropped raid boots, the next raid gloves etc. In a regular group of 12 you would get your boots at most after 12 runs. Sooner if some of them run the raids on their own without you, or longer if you run with pugs. But even with pugs as time progressed and people got their raid boots, your time was getting closer and closer. After each run you made some progress.
In the random roll GW2 system you might never get a drop you want. Not in a million years and there is nothing you can do about it.
Oooh, we’re talking lotro now?
There were problems with that system too: That specific token system did not carry over to later raids.
If you joined a raiding guild but only had certain hours, you get no drops. None. They gave them all to the people who could live there. That’s IF you were lucky to get in at all, and god forbid you’re learning.
So, you pug. You never get the drop you need. You need light armor and it’s all heavy heavy heavy, and the moment a light armor drops, some medium armor weirdo rolls on it because it looks pretty.
Say you, against all odds, get twelve people who actually want to run it. Great! Half of them get what they need and want to run something else now. Back to the pugs!
And this ONLY counts if you are running the top-tier end game stuff that people spam endlessly. You want old content? Too bad, nobody will even look in their direction. Got a deed to go for? Haaaa.
I think I spent ages in a raid because I wanted a fireplace. Not only does it drop once in a never, but twelve people will fight for it whether they need it or not.
Oh: And you HAD to run dungeons that you HAD to pay for access to. There was no open world content.
And guess what? Even Lotro agreed that was idiotic and switched to individual rolling for items, even insured you’d get items your own character can use, even gave out class-specific items, and was trying to do more with the open world before I wandered off.
Not saying that GW2 should detect your class and only give you class-specific things, though. Nobody would farm on anything but a light armor class then for silk. But the system is good as is. Nobody frowns at doing AC because it’s in a level 30 zone, or scoffs at doing teq because he isn’t level 80. And you can get decent stuff across all types and levels of content that are at least your own level. And that’s pretty good, to be honest.
Would it ever be possible to split this outfit in such a way that you can choose between the dress and the suit?
I like the suit. It’s a nice suit, I like suits, and I think this game needs a lot of nice suits.
I’d rather be able to use the suit part on my female characters. None of them are very dressy.
Not too sure on the dress. Maybe some dudes would like it, I won’t judge, cause that’s cool too. I find it a bit swishy and impractical for battle.
I can’t think of any other outfit that’s quite so severely different (save for the wedding outfit, but it’s got like ten iterations in and of itself)
I think it’s awesome. And Kas/Jory are awesome—out of all the LS characters, they’re my favorites. Literally anyone in my guild could tell you I gush like that around one of my guildies.
It’s just nice to have your favorite getaway from the violent and unforgiving real world look at you and say, “Hey, you. You exist, and that’s okay, and we support you.”
Maybe at least one person will look at that and keep going for another day. It’s the little things.
