New players do not need extra bag slots…LOL. So new players are not supposed to take crafting (good luck being a chef…), or hold onto anything they like the look of?
NOTHING excuses 20 gold for a single bag slot. I paid less than 3 for mine.
It’s called deposit collectibles to the bank. Those crafting material bank slots already provide more slots of storage than a new player would ever need. If you are actually crafting, then you never need more than a single stack of any material in order to max it out. This only affects players that hoard materials to sell on TP.
It is patently obvious that you have never done any cooking. Hell, it seems like you do not even know how it works on a basic level.
Also I love how you just dismiss new players holding onto anything.
I’ve maxed out all my crafting and made myself a bunch of 20 slot bags. I have never run into storage problems with the default bank spaces provided for crafting mats. I’ve also never spent any gems on bag or bank slots.
What would any new player need with 250 of any cooking ingredients? By the time they reach that point, they wouldn’t be new anymore.
100% confirmation you have never done cooking. The ingredients you MAKE, which are a lot, cannot be deposited. I seriously pity a new player who wants to cook.
Oh and 20 slot bags? You really think new people can afford that?

The non-obvious attacks, need an audible queue, IMO. This game is very visual and very noisy. Make the mobs say/do something before a ‘big’ hit and players will react faster.
Um…read the OP.
Bag and bank space should be bought with gold, not gems.
What are you even talking about? This is the first MMO I have ever played where you are even able to buy gem store things with gold. Who are you to say what Anet can put in their store.
It is SPACE, little fan boy. It is an essential in MMOs.

Actually players are buying the mats now…
Why do you assume this is all speculation, like ‘actual players’ can somehow never read future patch notes, or be told by guildies, etc?
I actually really enjoyed crafting, especially discovering cooking recipes.
Bag and bank space should be bought with gold, not gems. A player at launch buys their space for 1 gold, while a new player has to spend 20. Evidently new players are not supposed to hold onto anything, or take things like cooking…
I remember you, from the Maguuma versus SoS battles. Those were some good times
Good luck to any new players who want to actually hold onto anything…
You’re participating in WvW. Doing the jumping puzzle contributes nothing. You could easily farm 100+ badges an hour before the nerf.
You are clueless. On SoS we used to funnel half our server through that JP, and acquire a massive stockpile of siege.
Anet are backpedalling I see.
If your teammates don’t stack full vulnerability I would rather do 30/30/0/10/0. For grandmaster air trait take air training and use lightning hammer in air attunement. You get vulnerability stacking, +10% damage in air, +10% crit damage (almost as good as +10% damage with high crit) and 100 precision for even better crit rate. You’ll be doing more damage when not using lightning hammer and almost the same damage when you are.
Yeah I will probably swap to this however I’ll keep Renewing Stamina because if your using the hammer you need all the dodges you can get. I would rather be alive doing a little less DPS then hugging the ground half the fight…
Lightning Hammer spams AoE blind.
Nevermind. I see what you mean. I was looking at it only from a Lightning Hammer perspective. I love staying in water for that.
Except you won’t have that trait with only 10 in water.
Yes you will…

You should still fight in Water attunement, for the 20% more damage to vulnerable targets.
Probably intented..Another useless trait.
Its funny when whole grandmaster traits can top 15 minor in water..Actually its sad
What?
Anet have no QA department.
Demonstrably false.
Going to pretend you were joking.
Anet have no QA department.
Why do Elementalists have the lowest health and armour?
Why can I not be an earth tank or fire specialist?
Why was Arcane Attunement Recharge (the Arcane points bonus) made so necessary?
Loltwitter…
Hey Anet, you have your own site that people go to for information…
Where can you read what they actually did with this hotfix? All I see is ‘we fixed lots of bugs’.
You can’t since Anet doesn’t like to tell us what bugs they actually fixed. Just have to wait for the community to figure out what they did.
Gah…the only thing worse than Anet’s communication skills is their quality assurance.
Where can you read what they actually did with this hotfix? All I see is ‘we fixed lots of bugs’.
Sceptre auto-attacks really needed smoother and faster animations.
Humans get Prayer to Kormir! It is worse than Cleansing Fire in every single way, AND you have to pray to the god of thievery and trolling!
DT is not a ground cast.
Both bugs need to be fixed, though.
So they lied to us?
Shatterstone, the worst spell ever, seems to be doing the same thing.
And Anet fail the test.
The tickets have a chance to be found in the coffers you find randomly from enemy mobs.
Lol…
50% crit makes 15% proc rate. And please stop pretending you drop Flame Axes and Fiery Greatswords on people for 3 seconds of burn…
The new Necromancy grandmaster trait does it the right way: 100% chance to trigger a 4 second burn on a crit, with a 10 second cooldown.
(edited by Avatara.1042)
Burning Precision is absolutely horrid. Anyone who can do basic maths can see that. It lasts only ONE second, and only triggers on 30% of your critical hits. So first you have to roll a crit, then you have a 30% chance of it triggering a measly 1 second burn.
A condition build with 20% crit will trigger it 3 out of every 50 attacks. That is a 6% proc rate, for a single second of burn….
Burning Precsion gives ONE SECOND of burn, 30% of the time when you crit. A condition earth build will have 20% crit at the most. This means you will get a one second of burn every 3 out of 50 hits. Yes, that is sooo useful…
Burning Fire is adding burn to skills that ALREADY BURN.
So dingle, you are wrong.
Ya, who wants burning to last longer in a condi build /s
Seriously though, I think merging these traits is all that needs to be done. Signet of fire now gives a good amount of crit on passive and burning fire makes its active burn last 33% longer. SoF plus the merged trait synergizes well, for both passive and active abilities.
It adds 3 seconds to 50 second cleanse, the summoning of 2 weapons, and Signet of Fire. So basically only the Signet of Fire benefits, in a 30 Earth build. Thus, it is rubbish.
Merging and buffing them sounds good.

I think you mean supplemented, kodiak, not supplanted :P
Fire Aura needs a complete rework.
If this trait is not changed to something that can actually be used, and not renamed to something not redundantly stupid, Anet will clearly be shown to not care about Fire.
There are also Flame Barrier and Burning Precision which are rubbish, and need to be addressed. Flame Barrier, and the trait that boosts it, are just horrible and require you to get smashed for weak damage, while Burning Precision is a ONE SECOND burn that triggers from an RNG from an RNG.
the argument you are making doesn’t have to do with versatitlity. You don’t have to choose arcane if it doesn’t work for your build. Also arcane is design to benefit all attunement so it doesn’t make sense to put that trait in any other line.
Well it boosts the AoE of 7 abilities.
True, but if it doesn’t suit your needs why take it? Or if the are more important skills to take than it why take it/
I am just going to pretend you are joking.
Well it boosts the AoE of 7 abilities.
Salvaging a 40 copper item for a 9 copper piece of silk is fun.
Then you should know that it is much better to stay in water during a siege, putting 5 and 3 down on the rams, and then spamming 1 to heal people. This, along with your regen, is much more helpful than any damage you can do.
^Agreed.
15chars
In the upcoming patch, please make silk and thick leather worth something, so salvaging cloth and leather becomes viable again.
Where do they post notes for these builds?
There are notes?
Even putting Blasting Staff at 10 would let people try some crazy (will fail) 30 fire 30 lightning 10 arcane builds.
Did I miss the sceptre buffs, and the fire tree fixes? Burning Fire (lol nice name Anet…) is still there, Burning Precision still only gives 1 second of burn for a proc on a proc, and Flame barrier still completely sucks.
The ice pillars do not do the degeneration. He does it with his breath, or if you are too close to him when he is unstunned.
Oh I almost forgot: Blasting Staff.
This trait is insanely powerful for Staff Elementalists, yet it also forces you to go 20 into Arcane. If you want to improve Staves and create versatility, address this as well.
