Where to get Ascended crafting materials?

I’m not really sure which mats you’re talking about.

Ascended gear involves a wide variety of mats. Do you mean silk scraps, soft wood, or ectoplasms, etc? All those are used in making ascended items.

Any material that sells for a lot, really. Is there any non-complicated way, streamlined way of getting them? Like, do a specific dungeon or event that awards me ascended mats every time I do it. Or something. IDK.

IF there was a non-complicated, streamlined way to get them, everybody would do it and they wouldnt be worth much.

Alright, then, but my question still stands; minus the non-complicated part. Heck, any crafting mat that sells for a good amount will do.

So I heard farming for Ascended mats is a good way to make some gold. How and where do I get them? I’ve gotten some mats from doing Fractals, but I don’t think they’re ascended. Any specific achievement rewards, chests, or events that reward players with Ascended goodness? I wanna make some mad dosh.

Guys, can someone clear something up for me?

Is is it possible to do Precursor crafting without spending gold? Can I farm/craft all the mats needed myself? Cause that was the argument behind why it was so “good” by several players. What kittenes me off about Legendaries is that you not only have to wait a ton of time due to time-gated items, but you also have to spend ridiculous amounts of gold for things. Is the Precursor crafting alternative that much better?

Cheapest Ascended Armor Piece?

Avectius.3271

Title says it all.

Since we’ve pretty much been forced to craft Ascended Armor ourselves in order to get Balls of Dark Energy, I’ve got no choice but to spend hefty amounts of gold on crafting an Ascended piece. I reckon any Ascended Armor piece will do, since the drop rate is 100% for them, right? Anyways, what’s the cheapest out there? I think the components that’s usually the most expensive tends to be the Insignia.

And yes, I’m gonna be buying everything from the TP, and crafting what can’t be bought there. I did a chest piece once, and I remember the gold total for that being around 130 or 140, so that’s a big no-no.

Any advice?

Do it the way ANet expects you to do, buy gems with real money and convert them to gold.

This sadly does seem to be Anet’s new economy meta.

It’s not paying for the expansion that is making people angry. It’s the fact that they crippled and outright removed vanilla content and put it back in the expansion (which you have to pay for) that is making people angry.

Ascended gear has been in the game for years. It is part of the core game. An expansion should stand on it’s own merit. You don’t nerf and remove stuff from the core game to make the expansion more appetizing.

Exactly. I paid for vanilla stuff, why take it away from me now? If you want me to buy the expansion, actually make something NEW that is worth the 50 euro and I will buy it. Don’t force me to pay 50 euro to have something that I already paid for with 40 euro that I gave for vanilla. Expansions should be expanding the content, not limiting it. At the moment, I don’t see HoT being worth more than 20 euro, sorry. It brought way too little content for such a big price.

Avectius.3271

There are two types of players
Players who are casual and are fine playing the FREE core game. And then there are more hardcore players who have bought heart of thorns.

The free players shouldn’t care about getting the BEST gear and the COOLEST skins. They play for fun because they are casuals. The hardcore players do care about that stuff. And they have it available to them more effectively in HoT.

The problem is, there are still people who refuse to buy the expansion yet are hardcore players because they feel like they’re getting gyped/don’t have the money/feel like since they already bought the game, shouldn’t have to pay for the expansion. They are in a limbo between casual and hardcore. They expect all the niceties like ascended gear and legendary weapons but dont want to upgrade to the expansion.

While 50 bucks I’d a bit overpriced for what we got, people spend 50 bucks are stupider crap everyday.

I’m not a “Free” player. I, like millions of others back in launch day, bought the game for 60$ dollars. Why should I have to buy an expansion to gain access to content that was already in the core game in the first place?

I’m not mad because they want us to buy Heart of Thorns in order to gain access to content that’s part of Heart of Thorns. I’m mad because they want us to buy Heart of Thorns in order to gain access to content that has always been a part of the core game, and that they intentionally nerfed and/or removed and added into HoT.

How would you feel if I sold you a product, then came back and took several features off of it? I’m not even talking about nerfs, anymore. Granted, it’s a kitten move to do them, but I digress. I’m talking about removing things from the core game and locking it to the expansion.

“Hey, you want those things you already had, and which we took from you? Buy this and you’ll get them back”

Also, on a slightly different, yet related topic:

Do you have any idea how profitable the Gem Store is? Getting gold is hard as it is, let alone amounts big enough to get a full set of ascended gear, and/or a Legendary Weapon. Players know that they can get whatever gold they want through currency exchange. It’s definitely a tempting thing. They know this. You don’t think they do? You think all these dungeons, gold farm, and ascended chests’ drop rate nerfs were all just a coincidence? They know they’ll push more people into buying Gems that way. It’s a business strategy.

“Oh, but companies need to make money. They need to have profit roll in. It’s only natural”

Yeah, no kitten. Except there’s a kittening limit. There’s a line between the acceptable and outright kittenting on your consumers, and they’re beginning to cross it.

“Hey, guys. We released Heart of Thorns. Heard about it? Don’t worry, we nerfed a variety of things, including Fractals, Silverwastes, Dungeons, thus partially rendering bits of the core content useless, to make sure you buy Heart of Thorns, because gold farms and other things are more effective there, now. What’s that over there? Buy Heart of Thorns to unlock it.”

“Hey, guys. Remember Guild Boons and other features that had always been in the core content? We don’t. We remember Heart of Thorns. Buy it”

“Hey, guys. We implemented Precursor crafting, so that Precursor weapons are now just slightly more accessible. Don’t worry, you’ll still have to spend ludicrous amounts of money in order to get them. Some players will even resort to buying Gems and exchange those for gold, because they simply don’t have enough time to put into the game as much as others do, which turns these “journeys” into virtual grind/endless farm fests, so it’s all very profitable for us as well. And that’s only Part I of the collections! The other two Parts are even harder!"

“Hey, guys. Heard about the new Legendary Backpiece? You won’t have to spend a lot of money to get it. We promise. Don’t worry, we nerfed Ascended Chests’ drop rates to death, to the point where it’s virtually impossible to get Ascended pieces from the Fractals, so you’ll have no choice but to spend more money in order to craft Ascended Armor/Weapons, so you can get a Ball of Dark Energy. Just one? Of course not, silly. You’ll need 6 total for all three parts’ item collection phases, as well as 1 for Finite Result, another for Upper Bound, and another for Unbound, so that makes it 9! What’s that over there? An item you can’t have unless you have Masteries enabled? Buy Heart of Thorns to unlock it.”

“Hey, guys. We feel that certain items shouldn’t be up for grabs on the Trading Post, so we’re making those account-bound. They must be “earned”. It’s a “journey”. Don’t worry, the process of acquiring them is so off-putting, you’ll have no choice but to spend more money in order to get mats and other items needed. It’s basically the same thing as things being on the Trading Post, since players are still pouring gold/real money into the game, so, ultimately, it looks like we changed things, but we changed nothing. But you don’t mind, do you? Also, buy Heart of Thorns."

“Hey, guys. What’s that? There’s a middle ground to things? You mean things can be challenging, yet enjoyable and not ridiculously lengthy? Pfft, don’t be silly.”

“Hey, guys. You like [insert content here]? Then you'll love Heart of Thorns.

Before, we had “Personal Reward Level”, but now it’s just “Personal Fractal Level”. What’s the difference? Is there any or is it still the same thing, except with a different name? If so, why would they change it if all it does is confuse the kitten out of people.

Anyhow, I just did scale 20 yesterday. I’m sure I completed every single one from 1 to 20 cause I got the Chest of the Casual Fractal Hero (or whatever it’s called) and all the fractals in the list have a green checkmark next to them, so there’s no mistake; I did all of them. However, for whatever ungodly reason, I can’t seem to choose a Difficulty Scale of 21 as I attempt to enter the observatory, nor can I access the 21-50 category in the LFG tool. What gives?

So it’s been 14 days since the collection became available, and with 2 daily recommended achievements giving out 1 research page each, it’s likely that someone has already combined all the pages into the journal, and thus, finished the only thing that was left, as it’s a time-gated thing, so assuming he/he’s collected everything else already, someone’s already completed Part I.

Now, we still don’t have any information regarding the contents of the award chest, which supposedly has recipes and components to craft Finite Result. The page for Finite Result doesn’t give out many specifics also.

Does anyone know what’s inside the chest, and how we’re supposed to craft Finite Result? What about what happens afterwards? Do we keep it or do we give it to the NPC, and he’ll give us something back? How does it work?

Fractal Relics, & Ascended Chests?

^ Horrible drop rates from what people say. Too bad you weren’t one of the one’s who farmed fractals Pre-HoT… Missed out on alot =/.
Don’t count on higher-lvl fractals giving you “More relics”. In the time it takes to finish lets say.. an 80+ or so, you could’ve spammed a couple lvl 2 swamp’s and gotten more relics, if not double/triple in the same amount of time. Pristine relics, you can still get 5 Daily if you do all the dailies.

So the Fractal difficulty scale of 2? But if I do easier Fractals, won’t I get very little relics? Say I were to spam lvl 2 for a whole hour. How much Fractal Relics would that get me? Just an estimate.

Fractal Relics, & Ascended Chests?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Avectius.3271

Avectius.3271

So you can probably deduce by now, with your awesome-esque veteran game player and forum member brain processing power, that I’m doing Ad Infinitum I. I’m almost finished, and I’ve come to a point where I need to amass Fractal Relics & Pristine Fractal Relics. I also need a pesky Ascended armor/weapon piece so I can salvage it for those ever elusive Balls of Dark Energy, and so forth. So here are a couple of questions.

1. I’m guessing higher scale Fractals offer larger amounts of Fractal Relics, correct? What’s the biggest amount (on average) one can get? I’m also just starting out on the difficulty level. What’s my best route from here?

2. What about Pristine Fractal Relics? Shouldn’t we get one after every Fractal? What about several Fractals? I did a bunch today, and I think I only got one. What exactly are the requirements in order to be awarded one?

3. Can one get Ascended Chests on all the difficulty scales and personal fractal levels? How rare are they? Again, what are the requirements, here?

4. Wasn’t the “Personal Fractal Level” the “Personal Reward Level”? Aren’t we supposed to be able to change that when we’re choosing the difficulty level we want? I’m always at the personal Fractal Level of 7. Is that changeable? If I’m doing, say, scale 8, which I’ve never done, will my personal fractal level be 7 or 8 when I do it? This is rather confusing. The Wiki is confusing, too.

Any other advice is welcomed ^^

Precursor crafting. I don't get it . . .

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Avectius.3271

Avectius.3271

I think people complaining about the price of precursor crafting, and that it sometimes is even more expensive than buying it outright don’t really seem to grasp the point of it. In the past, everyone, even those playing only an hour per day due to work/family, could farm all the mats for the legendary on their own, without help or without the need for gold. It would be a very tedious process yes, but if say, you farmed SW, with EXP boosters, Karma boosters and good magic find for an hour each day and then maybe another hour to open all the chests for the keys you’d farm, you’d probably be able to get around 10-20 t6 mats/day. At this rate, a couple of months would be enough to get all the mats you need. By that time you’d also have enough obsidian, skill points/spirit shards, karma and enough gold to buy things like 100 icy runestones. However, since you’re hoarding it all, you don’t build up enough cash to be able to buy a precursor. That would require more focussed farming where you DO sell everything and make about 15 ish gold in the short time you play. This would add a couple more months to the process. Meaning that for Joe Casual, a legendary might take months, up to even a year. And this is a casual that would know how to be efficient. Most aren’t even that. Now you can work on your Precursor similarly to how you work on all the gifts that require mats. Slow and steady, never needing to make big purchases. In the end you might spend the same or more than just buying it but some people are better off paying for it in relatively small amounts rather than a large amount in one go. Most people don’t buy a house in one go either. You pay more for your house if you take a bank loan and pay interest every month than if your were to buy the house all in one go (not sure if this is how it goes in america but in europe this is how it works). Nobody thinks this is weird at all since no one would be able to buy a house if bank loans didn’t exist. And right now, almost no casuals have legendaries because they cannot pay for the precursor in one go. That’s why precursor crafting was introduced.

All this talk about banks and loans in order to purchase a house, as well as getting lectured about economics is supremely depressing. I know how the real world works. Games are supposed to be a place to set that aside; a place where we get to dream and achieve and have fun.

Honestly, if making a precursor is analogous to taking out a loan from a bank, there’s something deeply wrong with the system. There’s nothing fun about having a mortgage.

I don’t think anyone expected ANET to mail them a precursor for purchasing HoT, but I do think people expected the “legendary journey” to be fun. At the very least, more than just an endless grocery list.

This. A million times this. Fun is the key ingredient here. Legendary Weapon making just isn’t fun. I can only play up to 3 hours tops (sometimes only 1 hour or less) of GW2 per day. Assuming I’d farm for every single mat and not buy them off of the TP, as well as get all the Karma needed, the Badges of Honor, etc… how long would it take me to make, say, Sunrise? If the answer is more than two months, I’m not doing it. Period. People have different levels of patience, you know? Heck, if the process was fun and enjoyable, I’d probably be ok with doing it, but it’s not. It’s tedious work. Imagine being told that you have to do tedious work for five months of more in order to get your Legendary? People will just save money and buy it off of the TP. If ANet wants to encourage players to “go on the legendary journey” both for Legends and Precursors, then this is not the way to do it. And of course, it’s worse for me, since I want Eternity, so I’d have to make both Sunrise AND Twilight. Imagine how torturous and horribly-tiring that’d be.

Precursor crafting. I don't get it . . .

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Avectius.3271

Avectius.3271

When legendary crafting was first announced, it was talked about how the most frustrating part of obtaining a legendary weapon, was of course: The precursor.

https://youtu.be/gxLkfXwxLTs?t=34m49s

Now. This had me pretty excited, since throwing money at the TP was… Well, not fun. Now I finally completed the first collection for Zap. I got my pattern, learned it, and went to check and see what I needed to craft this item. It became immediately clear, that the cost of materials, was not going to be part of the world, but rather, the TP. I find myself at an impasse. Where moving forward requires me to do, what I had hoped I wouldn’t have to do.

I have two choices. To throw money at the TP. Or avoid crafting this precursor. I had expected, or I suppose hopped that moving through the collection would have me doing challenges, and working towards obtaining the item. Not just simply buying the materials off the TP. To make matters worse, the crafting items in question are ascended, which means: Time gating.

So I really just don’t understand it. I thought the idea behind the collection was to have players running around completing challenges to obtain this amazing item. Not throwing money at the TP, as if the collection just didn’t exist.

Or you can play the game and treat it like a checklist of things to get.

The problem is, ‘playing the game’ for me involves being in fractals, or the maguuma jungle. Neither of which give me access to iron, mithril or many other materials needed to craft the ascended items needed to make the precursor.

SO I have to buy them. But if I am going to buy them, then the cost of the item in question is about as high as the actual precursor on the tp

SO why would I do the precursor crafting when it results in doing the same thing as just buying the item, except I have to jump a few hoops as well.

And here lies the dilemma with Legendary item crafting: It’s such a long, tiring, grindy experience, so much so that it’s off-putting.

This is why I’m going to save money and outright buy Eternity (or any other Legendary/Precursor/Hard-to-get item for that matter) off the TP.

“But then it won’t feel like an adventure, and the hard work, and yadda, yadda, yadda…”

Oh, there’ll be hard work. In the form of my job and having the paychecks roll in. It’s a goal I have, and I’ll work for it. Simple.

Why all this? Cause one thing is a month or two of reasonable, yet understandably challenging tasks, and another is several months/upwards of a year of excruciating grinding and time-consumption. If I had the time to play GW2 all day, then I probably would’ve taken on the challenge, but I don’t.

I’m not asking for a Legendary/[insert rare item here] today. But I don’t want it five months from now, either.

When does waiting becomes waiting for too long? That’s the question. There’s a boundary where the whole experience becomes off-putting. If players do not enjoy something, or rather, if an activity does not provide pleasure, then people will simply shy away from it. I’m not asking for 100% enjoyment, but rather 70% or 60%. What’s sad is that the percentage is far, far lower than that.

So, apparently, at the end of every part one gets a backpiece (these being Finite Result for Part I, Upper Bound for Part II, and Unbound for Part III), right? I mean, in the wardrobe in the bank you can clearly see that, besides Ad Infinitum, those three others are also there, and they’re all available to be previewed, so I’m guessing I’m correct, right?

What happens when we’re done with Part III? Do we hand all the three backpieces to the NPC and he’ll award us with Ad Infinitum? Do we put all of them together, somehow? Or maybe, as we unlock them, we have to hand them over, rather than keep all three or something. Or perhaps there’ll be a final Part? Maybe Part IV? Where we collect components and then get awarded it.

Or what about the chest we get after each part that contains components? Maybe we’ll craft each backpiece from those?

This is all just speculation, but what do you all think? Any ideas?

And yes, I absolutely love how it looks and want it badly <3 That’s why I’m so curious. So come on, let’s talk, talk, talk

Ad Infinitum question

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

Posted by: Avectius.3271

Avectius.3271

I’ve been wondering the same thing, actually.

I reckon once you collect all 11 components, Part I is finished. Then you get that reward chest with stuff needed to make the first part of Ad Infinitum, which is “Finite Result”. At least that’s what the rewards info says when you hover your mouse over it. But it’s still confusing. Like, do you hand all the 11 components to the NPC guy and he’ll make it? Do you have to go back to him for instructions?

Also, if you go to the bank, and then to the wardrobe icon, and heavy armor and backpiece items, you can preview how “Finite Result” (Part I), “Upperbound” (Part II) and “Unbound” (Part III) will look. I’m guessing at the end you combine all three?

I haven’t got a kittenin clue lol.

I wish OP’s post could be as comforting for the case of Legendary Weapons as it is for that shoulder piece.

You see, one thing is a month or two of hard work and farming. The other is several months/upwards of a year. Not only do you need to put in hundreds of hours into the game, but you’ll also going to be spending hundreds of gold. I looked up information for Twilight and Sunrise, for example, and you need one kittening million karma (and an equally large amount of whatever other currency you end up going with) One. kittening. Million. I’ve been playing the game for more than a year, and I’ve still only acquired 100k. And that’s just the karma. You’ll also need upwards of 900 gold to buy your precursor, cause let’s face it, getting one is near impossible. Add to that the 100 gold you’ll have to spend on whatever it is. And of course, whatever extra costs there are.

If I had the luxury of being able to play GW2 all day, I’d definitely take on the “legendary journey” cough grinding cough endless farming, such and such. But I don’t. The time consumption in order to craft a Legendary Weapon from scratch is absolutely astronomical. So much so that I’d rather go through hard work in the form of my job, save some money, and outright buy my Legendary. That’s how off-putting the whole process of making one is.

Now, I’m a bit scared, because I’ve fallen in love with Ad Infinitum (the new legendary backpiece, in case anyone’s wondering) and I have set my eyes on it, but this time we’re talking about something that cannot be bought on the TP. We’ll have to make it ourselves. I’m no expert on the matter, but what if it’s as hard as making a Legendary Weapon? What do you all reckon it’ll be like?

Support making a feeble attempt at telling me kinguin’s code was wrong even though it worked for an entire day. What do you, the community think? Did I get jipped? Because it seems like I did and not by kinguin, but by arenanet.

Complains that things didn’t work out properly.

Hahaha, Oh wow. What an idiot.

Though I’m curious. If you were planning to actually buy Heart of Thorns, why not purchase it here, in the official website, directly from ArenaNet? Just what in the kitten were you thinking?

I second this. This might sound like a joke, but there might actually be hints in the film. Maybe they took inspiration from it? IDK.

The CS Team is pretty good about replacing lost items (especially cash-purchased items)…even when it is not their fault.

I don’t think you have anything to worry about.

What you might encounter, though, is a limit on how many Gems you can purchase at a time. I believe there is a monthly limit (though you may be able to get the restriction lifted through a support ticket on a per purchase basis).

Good luck.

Oh, really? What’s the monthly limit?

Oh, and btw, what about fees? Will there be subtractions from the amount if I don’t use my gems? Like, some sort of fee for simply having them for a while? Gosh, I know this sounds ridiculous xD but I don’t know much, so bear with me here.

I’ve never known gems to disappear from the wallet, but maybe someone else can vouch for ANet’s refund policies.

Yeah, me neither, it’s just that the amount I want to purchase is anything but small, and I’ll be buying more, but only several months from now, so I’m wondering if the amount I may or may not purchase today is going to stay put. I’m not saying I won’t spend them for a whole year, but you get the gist of it. I’m gonna be saving for quite a few months, so that’s why I’m worried.

I’m currently putting a good deal of hard-earned, sweat n’ blood-workin’, juicy cash on the side so that I may purchase a significant amount of gems when I’m ready, and of course, spend that buying a multitude of wacky, and interesting items whenever the time comes.

Now, the reason why I’m not purchasing them as I go is because I’m a bit afraid. What, you might ask? Well, call me paranoid, but what sort of safety measures are there when it comes to issues with our gem count? If I purchase a certain amount today, will they always stay safe and sound in my wallet? Is there some sort of time limit to spend gems? Furthermore, what if, for whatever reason, I were to log in one day and realize they were gone due to some server data issue or bugs or whatever? Would presenting the purchase receipt and order info we usually get through our e-mail be enough? Whatever amount I currently have, will it stay put until I spend it?

Furthermore, what about a similar scenario but with items or gold instead? If there were any issues with the servers/game whatsoever, and players lost items and gold as a result, does ANet guarantee that they’d refund our stuff back?

I’ve never heard of this happening before, thankfully, but I’m pretty sure people logging in only to realize that their legendary weapons, ascended armor pieces, or other valuable stuff was gone is not a pleasant situation at all.

Have any of you ever had any similar issues happen? If ANet realizes that it was a mistake on their part or something an error/bug caused, would they give you your stuff back? Just what kind of “buyer’s protection” policies are in place?

Gem purchases-associated taxes?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Avectius.3271

Avectius.3271

In EU the Value Added Tax is always included in the consumer price. What that calculation actually means is that we pay 10 and 1.87 of that is tax leaving Anet 8.13. The tax is not added to the final price, but to a base price. It is confusing because its name is ‘added tax’.

Oh, so the 1.87 value is what Anet pays as tax, and therefore they subtract it from the 10 they’re supposed to receive, and thus only ending up with 8.13? In other words, if 800 gems are 10 euros, and the VAT is 1.87, we’re still only going to pay 10 euros?

That’s interesting. Though what about bigger purchases where the VAT is higher? With the 100 euro purchase (the 8000 gems) the VAT is around 18 euros. Does it still work the same way as the 10 euro purchases? Meaning we’ll only pay 100 euros?

Every time I purchase gems the “Total” and “Sub-total” values in the checkout window are always the same, despite the VAT tax value being present. For example, in 10 dollar/10 euro purchases, the “Sub-total” will be 10, and with an added tax value of 1.87 (or whatever it is), and yet, the “Total” value ends up still being 10. I’ve also checked my bank account statements and I’ve confirmed that I always end up paying 10 and nothing more than that. So what’s the tax value for?

I’m sort of a rookie when it comes to farming tactics and money-making, so I currently only know of Silverwastes farming, which is what I do; salvage rares in order to get me some juicy ectos.

Though am I missing out on other, far more reliable and fast ways to get them? What other ways to go about doing it are there?

“Just save both your gifts” they said. “They’ll have new and even better-looking weapons when HoT comes” they said. “Eternity’s great, but I’m sure there’ll be something even cooler”.

Community members, please. Not to disrespect the fine, sexy people from ArenaNet’s art department who probably spent endless hours creating those three beauties, cause, let’s face it, they’re anything but ugly, but come on, a weapon that looks better than Eternity? Absolute heresy.

Just crafted Sunrise (cos I’m a kitten). Here’s my feedback on it.

The good: having to get WvW rank to 14 forced me to play WvW and I really like it. So that was a pleasant surprise.

The Meh: It’s mostly a gold farm really. And an Ecto farm is you know your dungeons ^^

The horrendous: World Completion.

So World Completion. First off, here’s some ideas for improvements.

1. Hearts could have red rings on the map, marking their effective zones.
2. The mini map could have the same level of detail as the world map.

My advice to people thinking about crafting a legendary: Just buy it instead. World completion is a kittening nightmare. People will say things like “it’s easy” which it is. but it’s also a 100 hour mind numbingly boring grind; it’s the worst seriously. And I know some kittenheads will be like “100 hours!? scoff scoff, I do world completion in 1 hour and 15 minutes using nothing but my rock hard kitten for the keyboard controls” the kittens.

Anyway, that’s how I feel about it. Now to craft Twilight and make $$$ off Eternity

“make $$$ off Eternity” and not keep it.

Absolute heresy.

Legendaries on the TP with sigils?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Avectius.3271

Avectius.3271

sigil of leeching is the default sigil for eternity. Stats are not chosen because they are not bounded yet.

But with legendary, stats can be changed any time when out of combat.

Oh, so I suppose that’s why it had the sigil. Though can one remove it? I plan to add two different sigils to it when I get it, so how would I go about removing the one it comes with?

Don’t you need to account bound a legendary weapon before you can add any sort of upgrade components to it? If an item’s account bound it can’t be put on the TP for sale, right? Cause I was browsing it a couple hours ago, and saw Eternity with a sigil of bleeding (or whatever it was) already in it. Does it mean the owner tampered with it? What about its stats? Were they already chosen? Cause I’ve been saving up for a legendary, and when I finally pour thousands of gold into the TP, I’m expecting a weapon that I can select stats for and account bind for myself.

How does the whole thing work?

But wait a minute. Some of you said the mats required for a legendary aren’t purchasable through the TP, and that they can be farmed. But GW2Legends says they are.

Take a look at the page for Twilight, for example: http://www.gw2legends.net/Twilight

At the bottom it tells us the amount of gold we’d have to spend throughout the process would be slightly over 2000. Is this assuming we buy every mat off of the TP? What if we don’t and simply farm them? What would the gold amount be then? I don’t mind wasting time rather than money. My concern, however, is if most of the mats are time-gated.

You can’t craft the mats, you can farm them though.
I think ready made legendaries are pretty cheap considered how much effort it takes to craft them.
https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Twilight
As an example – the wiki is really good to look up what you need for each legendary.

But are legendaries that expensive? How did you craft whatever ones you have? Give me an example. How much gold total did it cost you to do it?

So I just checked GW2legends, and according to their information, the cost of getting all the materials and precursors for both Twilight and Sunrise (I’m gonna go for Eternity, btw) is over 4000 f$#&ing gold. Am I reading this right? I mean, what if I craft the mats rather than buying them from the TP? Will it still be expensive? Cause, heck, if this is the case, then I’d rather just buy Eternity directly from the TP, as right now, it costs slightly less than crafting Sunrise and Twilight.

Jesus christ. Didn’t think it’d be this much. Guess I’ll need more than one paycheck <.<

But how much did it cost you guys? Assuming whomever replies has crafted Eternity, of course. Is it truly that expensive? Share your knowledge.
