Getting precursors?

Avectius.3271

Maybe wait for precursor craft system in HoT. Maybe you will want new legendary with that. Also buy for gold always better than mystic forge for guarantee result. I see people often say spend thousand of gold on mystic forge and no precursor and other say spend few hundred and get. It is RNG and chance is you will lose more than win. Buy for gold is guarantee you get what want with no anxiety of lose a lot of gold for nothing. When you buy precursor on TP you buy some other person luck that had luck from drop or mystic forge. The many people with no luck from forge that spend thousand of gold have no thing to sell but sadness. And you can buy much sadness if you pay gem for black lion key and open chest.

They way you wrote this made me chuckle a bit, to be honest xD But in a good way! Anyways, thanks for the advice, man.

Getting precursors?

Avectius.3271

I’m not sure if I’m thinking about this right, but right now, the thought of being able to get precursor weapons has spawned a dilemma for me.

So, one can either keep doing world bosses and the likes, and patiently wait for the precursor he/she wants for the legendary weapon he/she’s trying to craft, but that’ll take ages. Getting one is already rare enough, let alone the one you want. So then there’s gambling some gold on the Mystic Forge, and hope that you don’t have to spend a lot of gold to finally get your precursor. Finally, we have the good old Trading Post routine; just get a ludicrous amount of gold (either by farming or currency exchange) and there you have it.

Now, I’d hate to just farm for 900 gold or more, or spend close to 90 bucks on gems to exchange for gold, but thing is, how do I know I won’t end up spending far more than that on the Mystic Forge?

What should I do? Heck, what did you guys do? Precursors are by far where crafting a legendary weapon will hurt your real life/in-game wallet the most

Physical copy? Welcome to the 10’s buddy where we can directly download a game from the comfort of our home. We have Steam and other excellent online stores that outright obsolete places like Gamestop.

Welcome to Steam and other digital game-selling platforms, buddy, where you’ll never truly own the games you paid for, and where they’re not obligated to provide you with another copy of a title should something happen. You bought it through Steam, it’s on a games library that’s part of Steam. Heck, sometimes you can’t even play certain games outside of Steam. Steam practically owns half of “your” stuff.

Yeah, I’ll take physical purchases any day.

A million times this. Guild Wars 2 is a vastly different and unique MMO, which is why I love it, and as such, it attracts a very niche audience in the genre. The game isn’t meant for your typical MMO audience. Bringing in those types of players isn’t what ArenaNet is focused on.

The build I’m going with specifies that I should get the Marauder Amulet, though I’ve searched the Trading Post and found nothing. The Wiki says it’s in the Heart of the Mists, but gives no specific information on how to get it. I’ve talked to a couple of players who’ve told me I can acquire it somewhere in the PvP menus and such, but I want to use it outside of PvP. Pretty much like any item that I can buy.

Avectius.3271

I just logged in after about three weeks of having taken a break, and apparently the UI display for the skill and traits section has changed dramatically. Everything looks so confusing, now.

Why can I only have three core specializations up at a time? My current build (which I spent a ton of time working on, mind you) requires me to have points put into the Virtues trait line, but since I only have room for three trait lines (or specializations of whatever) I have to leave one out :/ What gives? How do I fix that?

Have certain traits been outright eliminated? Where the heck is Blind Exposure? Where’s Powerful Blades? And what’s with Hero points? Are those Skill points? Is that what we’re calling them now?

I don’t even know where to start, since I mostly used visual memory to remember how to organize things, and now the entire UI has changed. Terrific.

And they switched the god kitten Radiance and Valor icons? WHY??? Literally what was the point of that?

I’d seriously spend 900 dollars (worth 9000 gold through currency exchange estimate) on getting Eternity, and then some more on ascended armor.

The sad part is, the challenge and dedication involved in acquiring legendaries is what makes it worth it and enjoyable, so taking that away buy simply insta buying them would make me feel a bit bad, but my god, Eternity looks gorgeous. It’d be tough to resist.

I Can't Decide On Which Method...

…to obtain Eternity.

I’ve done some calculations and I’ve determined that it’ll take me roughly 2 months and a few extra days of Silverwastes farming to get the 4000 gold I need to buy Eternity off the Trading Post, but that’ll probably feel really boring and tiring.

Then there’s crafting Twilight and Sunrise normally, and not buying time gated materials and other items on the Trading Post, as the amount of gold I’d spend doing that would roughly be slightly more than 4000 gold, so It’d be the same scenario; farming for a huge amount of gold, which I’m beginning to not want to.

The problem with crafting Twilight and Sunrise normally, however, is that I’d have to get both their precursors, which, you guessed it, are nearly impossible to find as drops and cost a ton on the Trading Post, so once again, more gold farming.

I need some advice, here, guys. What should I do?

Crafting Eternity

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Avectius.3271

Avectius.3271

Without knowing what route you’d go to get the gold, there’s no way to answer your question.

As for the comment above, everyone is entitled to their opinions. For the record, here’s mine…

I made my Sunrise on New Year’s Eve of 2012. Loved it, and wasn’t a huge fan of the Twilight skin, so didn’t ever plan to make Eternity, and basically give up TWO Legendaries to get back one, whose skin half the time would be one I didn’t like.

However, when the re-vamp came for Eternity, I re-assessed, and realized that actually the Twilight skin had grown on me. Add on the special effects that Eternity gets over and above it’s day/night visuals, and I had to have it.

I made Twilight, and then put the two together. And I don’t regret it for a second.

Yes, I could have had two legendary weapons instead of one, but the effects on Eternity are, in my opinion, gorgeous, and at the end of the day, gold in game is just pixels. So I traded some pixels (gold) for others (effects) and am quite happy with it.

Well, the fastest way to acquire the necessary gold, of course. My question is, essentially, if I do choose to craft both Twilight and Sunrise, will doing so take longer than acquiring the money for Eternity? Each legendary would take about one month, right? So that’d be around two months for both of them. Would I be able to get the money for Eternity in a time period shorter than two months?

Avectius.3271

To those of you who’ve done it, did you take the easy route and bought Twilight and Sunrise on the Trading Post? Or did you craft both of them beforehand?

Crafting legends is obviously far less expensive than outright buying them, but every time I think about it, the long period of time required for the process puts me off xP

I suppose getting 4000 gold isn’t that easy, either, right? I mean, realistically, what would be faster? Getting the money to buy both of them or just crafting them instead?

Buy Prices & Sell Prices On The Trading Post

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Avectius.3271

Avectius.3271

The reason there is a such a large gap is because lets say I list something for 1150 gold on bl. I would only get 1000g because the listing fee is so high. Luckily when you are the buyer you have no extra fee’s so just post above the highest buyer, unless you are in a rush.

Alright, so let’s say I want to purchase the Bolt for one gold more than its current highest buy price, which would make that 2752. Would someone actually sell it for that price? If so, how long would it take? You reckon less than a day? Or more?

Buy Prices & Sell Prices On The Trading Post

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Avectius.3271

Expensive items, such as legendary weapons, usually present a huge difference in buy and sell price on the Trading Post. Which one of the two is what it actually costs, though? Do people buy for the bigger sell price, or do they go for the lowest buy offer? For example, the “Bolt” is currently at 2751 gold for the buy price, whereas the sell price is much higher. Any chances of acquiring it at around the aforementioned amount of gold? I’m trying to calculate how much certain legends would cost if bought on the Trading Post, so that’s why I’m curious.

Cost Of Crafting Bolt The Fastest Way?

in Players Helping Players

Posted by: Avectius.3271

Avectius.3271

Let’s just say I want to craft it in a whole day or less, which means I’ll be buying necessary items that are time gated on the Trading Post instead, and of course, any other groups of items that, otherwise, would take an eternity to acquire. However, any items that can be attained fast enough to make the whole process last less than a full day will be acquired the regular way.

In essence, only buying the required items on the Trading Post if required, in order to obey the one day rule.

How much would it be? An estimate is fine, as I know prices do fluctuate. It’ll for sure be less than just simply buying it on the Trading Post (it’s currently at over 3000 gold, I reckon).

I’m talking just the amount of gold, btw.

Not just the aforementioned cases, but let’s say one has spent countless hours working and dedicating his/her efforts to acquire that one rare piece of equipment or a particular item that (most certainly) holds a lot of value to the user.

Now, I’m not familiar with the likelihood of it happening, or any reported cases, but what if, for some reason, one logs in to find an item (or several) missing? What can we do in order to get our stuff back?

When buying gems or things from the gem store, are we given some sort of receipt? You know, something that, in the event of something bad happening, can serve as proof that we actually did acquire the item in question, so it can be given back to us. IDK. What if the game effs up for some reason? Would screenshots of the purchase of an item work as well?

In short, what measures have been put in place and such?

I’ve been enjoying myself every step of the way ever since I (finally) got to start playing Guild Wars 2 a couple of weeks ago. This game is too good to be true. Arena Net did do it justice to the genre in creating this masterpiece, and for that, I’m thankful.

However, I’m also concerned. The thought of the game dying down came to me earlier, and quite frankly, it was scary just thinking about it. I’m only just starting, but yet, I’ve pretty much immersed myself into its universe and everything it has to offer. It is that good, and I don’t want it to end.

Does anyone know the number of registered player accounts? What about the number of people who log in monthly to play Guild Wars 2?

It’s been almost 3 years, and it’s still going strong, so that’s a relief. Plus, Heart Of Thorns is coming, so I assume it’s a sign that Arena Net is doing well.

I need some comforting. Someone has any idea of the statistics?
