For me the active portion of the signets should always apply to the Ranger; and not the pet. Then have a Master trait that allows active effects to apply to the pet as well.

Also, in my humble opinion the cooldowns on several of our signets should be lowered significantly as they only provide benefits for 40% of our class (that liability we call a pet) and require a 30 point investment in order to affect the actual Ranger.

While it isn’t a forced respawn, (unless there’s some big secret I don’t know of) there isn’t a way for dead players to avoid the automatic afk kick. They will be forced out after however long that timer is (15 minutes maybe?).

Actually, there is a ‘secret’ that apparently allows you to remain in the game indefinitely; even when dead.

Regardless, the auto-kick is not much of a solution. A forced respawn timer of 120 seconds would allow for everyone to continue playing; instead of getting trolled by people that refuse to release or certain individuals exploiting unintended game mechanics (like the rez-through-door).

A hiding mesmer in a keep is extremely dangerous as he or she could portal an entire army in. Every time one of our commanders takes a keep, the first thing they order is a full sweep. This is intended behavior and lots of fun, at least for the portaling team. It sounds like you learned this lesson the hard way. Next time, do better.

The issue is not about a hiding Mesmer as a proper sweep will usually take care of it. I actually enjoy such sweeps as they show me new hiding spots for my own Mesmer.

No, it becomes a problem when a dead Mesmer gets rezzed because of exploits. Two such exploits have been stated in this thread already;
1) Thief glitching through walls or under the floor.
2) Dead Mesmer at the door (inside keep) getting rezzed from the outside.

Personally I believe the best solution to remove this unwanted behaviour is by adding a forced respawn timer to defeated players. If a defeated player is not revived within 120 seconds, they should be teleported automatically to the nearest uncontested waypoint.

I really liked my BM Hunter (with Loque’nahak; taming him felt like my greatest achievement ever!!)

But yeah, pet responsiveness in WoW was awesome. You click what you want your pet to do, and it happens immediately. That’s how it should be; not “Press F2 and hope the pet will do it at some point”.

You know what might actually be nice? That when a pet is defeated and limps back to the Ranger; that the Ranger can actually REVIVE the pet as they would another downed player.

Sure, you’d have to stop attacking for a little while, but at least you could get your pet back up instead of being forced to wait for pet-swap to come off cooldown…

Mega Boss scaling

Well, the bosses are pretty impressive; but their behaviour is too predictable. So if it were possible, I’d love for these bosses to become more dynamic.

At present time people just kill bosses by attacking its foot from a safe spot and such (death by pedicure?); but wouldn’t it be more fun if the bosses were actually more aware of their surroundings and act accordingly?

For example:

  • Boss snatches a player in its claw, squeezes the life from it and flings him away.
  • Boss chomps down on a player and flings player away (see: Skyrim Dragon kill move)
  • Boss locates a group of players and swats them like flies with his claw/foot.
  • Boss focuses on a random group of players and breathes deadly stuff in their direction.
  • Boss (Dragon) flies up into the air and does a strafing attack while breathing fire (Skyrim Dragon/Onyxia style)
  • Boss does a Chuck Norris by roundhouse kicking with its tail; flinging players all over the place.
  • Bosses don’t just stand in one spot, but are mobile and can move around a specific area.
  • Shatterer breathes in random areas, encasing any players there into crystal (which slowly damages them and requires others to break the crystals)

Just a few quick suggestions off the top of my head to basically make all boss encounters more unpredictable, dynamic and interesting; instead of static fights where people just attack its foot and afk until the chest pops up.

Looks like a pretty clear case of using teleport hacks to me. Probably from that all-in-one cheat program. I really hope ANet implements some form of scan soon which can detect when an account is using third-party programs that hack into the game client.

Tonight in EB was pretty funny actually as we found out that you can just string Vizunah along and actually direct where you want them all to appear. So we just started capping random stuff with a bunch of golems and sure enough their whole country came exactly when we expected them to show up and started clawing at the doors calling out for our brains.

While I find this discussion very fascinating, I fear that we may detract from the original intent of the thread. I myself am partly to blame for that (because of my love for discussion), but let’s recapture the original intention of the thread.

The original poster stated his desire of having a Mainhand Pistol option for the Mesmer. I fully agree with this as the Mesmer seems to be lacking in their choices for mainhand options. And because of the fact that we have 2 illusionary pistols in the game (Lyss and Ilya), I assumed that it may have been ANet’s intention to have a Mainhand Pistol for the Mesmer at launch. Yet for reasons unknown, they did not implement it (yet).

Fact remains however that apparently a lot of Mesmers (myself included) would LOVE having a Pistol as a mainhand option!

This was the basis of the discussion. I believe it then went beyond that basis with lots of additional suggestions. One of them regarding potential weapon skills. This then went one step further where a skill (#3) could fire off either one or two streams of illusionary bullets depending on the offhand. So with one pistol you could have 5 illusionary bullets being fired and with two pistols the iDuelist animation would be used (firing off 8 bullets). But regardless of the single or double attack it would still only deal damage for the 5 bullets. My desire was to see a form of synergy so the offhand weapon would feel part of the same attack routine without requiring 2 separate skills which would then require balancing.

So my suggestion was more an aesthetic addition in terms of animation. This would translate in the Mesmer aiming and firing both pistols; giving the impression of them working together.

I’m not saying that others shouldn’t get dual wield skills, but they don’t tie into our mechanic the way they do for Thieves. And we certainly do not need varied animations, telegraphing attacks in PvP is huge. Yes, they may reuse the same animation for different skills, but it still allows for a greater degree if recognizability than if every thing was an ‘If then’ animation (which is more complex than you think).

No no, I woulddn’t want actual dual wield skills (which would imply different skills or even traits); just changing the animation from one to two streams of bullets. More skills would require more work in terms of implementation and balance (and we’ve all seen how that goes). That’s more what I was meaning to say. Better visualization and synergy without the need to devote more time than is needed.

Trust me, I know how complex things can become as I have been ‘Lead Designer’ for a couple of game-related projects (Most notable the Playable Dremora Project for TES3:Morrowind and Mannimarco Revisited for TES4:Oblivion). As such I was aiming for the best results with the minimum of effort. Switching animations depending on the number of pistols was -to me- the least intrusive in terms of implementation (because the code already exists) yet the most rewarding in terms of visual effects in my humble opinion.

You misunderstand. I was saying that I wish other professions had the #3 dual wield skills too. The ‘logic’ which I understand is that they don’t make the same ability have different attack animations depending on the offhand weapon because it hurts telegraphing of attacks, even thieves don’t get that. You weren’t referring to a special skill based on your offhand, you were referring to a special animation for the same skills.

You are correct, I was mainly referring to a different animation when using 2 pistols instead of 1. I would understand ANet’s supposed desire to have visible telegraphing attacks. However, I feel that the telegraphing might become even better as a result because an opponent would know when a pistol is in the offhand because of the highly visible (different) animation. So actually having different animations might have the potential to improve the overall experience, giving better telegraphing of mainhand/offhand loadouts and make it feel more dynamic at the same time.

My reasoning for keeping the #3 as-is and only changing the animation would be -to me- a solution to give the illusion of synergy which would not only be aesthetically pleasing, but would also make the attack animations more dynamic and fluid without the need to spend time developing new skills which would then also require monitoring and balance.

As to why Thieves are have initiative and dual wield skills – it’s their mechanic, the two go hand in hand. First off, Thieves have initiative because If they had CDs like everyone else, then taking the time to use a random item that may or may not be effective would be inefficient when you could be using real skills, since a weapon skill sitting there unused is wasted potential.

Hmmm, I always thought that the F# ability was the actual class mechanic. I mean the Mesmer class mechanic is shattering illusions, the Guardian class mechanic revolves around Virtues, the Ranger uses pets as their class mechanic etc. So to me ANet just threw in initiative because it ‘felt cool’. I believe I even saw a video where they said it was the main motivator for Initiative, but I can be mistaken. No clue where the changing #3 came from, but I guess it was just another thing the devs ‘felt cool’.

Besides, why would the Thief be the only class to have different animations depending on their equipped weapons? Why wouldn’t a Mesmer be able to fire 2 pistols if both were equipped or wield 2 swords simultaneously right?

At present time the Thief feels much more dynamic in terms of weapon animations whereas the other classes wielding 2 weapons of the same kind feel completely static and disconnected.

Maybe I’m looking at it from a different angle as I’m more of a creative designer when it comes to games. But giving one class a changing ability based on their choice for offhand (thus making the two weapons feel connected) whilst keeping them for every other class separate does not ‘feel cool’ in my humble opinion.

To make Stealing more viable without making every stolen item ridiculously powerful they gave thieves initiative. In this way, so long as you aren’t sitting at full initiative no potential is lost by using the weaker and random steal skills. Even so, they still had to make Steal Shadowstep you and not replace your weapon skills before they considered if viable.

Now, since Thieves have Initiative their playstyle has changed. It’s no longer viable to make a weapon set like others have because the Thief can use the same skill multiple times in a row. Instead if having a set if skills that works well together, Thieves are intended to have a variety of skills that are situational. For example, Heartseeker is only at it’s best when the target is low HP, because of how Thieves work it’s okay to have a skill designed to only be used in specific situations. Dual Wield skills are meant to tie this system together by giving the Thief something that fits the weapon set, such as the ability to go quickly from Melee to range with P/D or vice versa with D/P. Yet P/P doesn’t need to be in Melee range for anything so has neither.

You lost me here as I’m not really into the how’s and why’s of ANet’s decisions and don’t see what connection Initiative would have to weapon abilities changing because of it. All I see is an active element in one class where weapons synergize and feel as one, and all other classes having a static element where weapons of the same type do not synergize and feel disconnected from eachother.

So TL;DR: I’m still highly in favor of giving Mesmers a Mainhand Pistol first and foremost. And it would be awesome to have it synergize (if possible) with an Offhand Pistol in terms of animations on the #3 ability.

I agree that OHs seem dead, I wish we all got dual wield skills as our #3 at least, but I can see their logic.

Forgive me, but I do not see this logic. All classes except one follow the ‘no dual wield’ mechanic. Yet I don’t see why the Thief would be the only one allowed a changing #3 and why ANet is so reluctant to allow other classes such a mechanic (even if it was just for animation purposes only).

I just don’t understand why they felt the need to make the Thief such a ‘special snowflake’ with changing #3 abilities and active initiative-based combat while the rest of the classes are stuck with static cooldown-based combat with no synergy at all between MH and OH weapons.

As such I believe that allowing more classes access to more dynamic changing abilities on their #3 depending on the offhand would benefit the entire game and make offhands feel less static as a whole.

And the first weapon to use for testing could be Mainhand Pistol for Mesmers!

@Aveneo: Haem, wow. Mixing this particular situation with somebody we do not even know, it can be a beginner, someone rejoigning his guild etc, with guilds doing fights, seriously ;(

Nope, he ran all the way from LV to Bay north gate to the guards and then just stood there waiting.

But yeah, maybe he was a beginner because that Guardian did not seem to put up much of a fight once he did start fighting me (see below) and was defeated pretty easily (he was full 80 though, not uplevelled).

But isn’t that a good thing? Now he can look at his build and maybe improve himself, so next time he has a better chance at winning. Learning how to fight more effectively benefits everyone much more than just running away, right?

I dunno, they attack you if you show no interest in the 1v1 thing, maybe that was your mistake.
I got killed in EB recently when me and an enemy Ele passed each other np, i ran a bit further and suddenly i get bowled over by him.
Didn’t stand a chance with my build tbh, was a bit annoying, stupid guild was at the other side of the map. :p

Maybe. It’s possible that they were not interested and ran away because I actually wanted to fight them. But if that’s the case, why are they in WvW if they don’t want to fight? That’s just silly right?

For instance: I found this Guardian with a friend contesting Longview but he ran off and jumped down when me and a guildmate came over to check; but he left his friend to die.

Then he stood there at the bottom (waiting for me to jump?). So I thought I would have a nice fight, told my guildmate not to follow and jumped down.

But then he started running away again, so I just ran with him all the way to Bay north gate. There he simply stood waiting in the middle of the guards.

A few times he ran at me, but backed off again (maybe because I still did not run away?). Eventually 2 of his friends came running in from the north and I was like “yeah, 3v1; no deal” and I just turned around and went away.

Sure enough, all of a sudden the Guardian started running at me and chased after me. Unfortunately for him, I noticed that his friends did not come with him so once I went around the corner, I turned around and finally got my 1v1 duel (finally initiated by the Guardian player) and defeated him. So I did a /salute after the fight and went in search of another opponent.

So I learned a bit more about fighting a Guardian, and he (hopefully) learned a bit more on how to fight a Ranger. So we both learn and improve.

How can you expect to get 30v30 GvG working when your players are afraid to even go 1v1 and need to outnumber you at least 3-to-1 before they actually do something? Just yesterday I had a Guardian (and later an Engineer) running away from my LB/SB Ranger (Le Gasp!) to hide behind guards.

I just wanted to test their skills as individuals because there was a lot of talk about Vizunah players having skill, but to me it seems a lot of them have to work on their individual combat skills and stop running away from evenly matched fights.

Thank you to SFR and VS for all the lootbags in EB today, was great fun commanding on that map for 14 hours. Some great fights all round!

You real mate? I ws comanding the sfr Eb force until 21:30 cet… lootbags from us? Wake up. I dont want to be rude but was defending sm once we flipped it from you and Vz never lost it even if it was broken like swiss cheese,so many wipes and fights.. but you never wiped us. If it happened after I left I cant speak for it. I just wanted to comment. As I made similar post to yours earlier in the topic as you can check.

It happened after you left at around 02:45-03:00 cet if I remember correctly. SFR was trying to cap SM while the few Deso defenders inside kept you guys occupied until our roaming group joined in and removed you from the circle (cap-bar was at 90%). Immediately afterward Vizunah showed up with their zerg (big surprise) but we defeated them as well.

Was a pretty fun fight.

All I see is a Mesmer blowing through all her defensive abilities in order to Block or become invulnerable to attacks for a few seconds. Doesn’t matter if there’s 1 or over 9000 people hitting you during that period.

The mobs at jormag used to drop loot, not it’s absolutely kitten.

This was changed because people were just farming the adds indefinitely and ignoring the dragon. So effectively they were exploiting (and trolling/insulting people who actually wanted to play the event as it was intended).

Any consideration for the ranger class?

On the last occasion I encountered with a thief (1v1). Literally, all of my skills were on cool down. He went invisible, my pet went useless (as always in WvW). In 4 (!) seconds time I was dead. He was on full health.

I mean.. yeah if all of your skills are on cool down you should’nt expect to win any fight against any other class playing as ANY class. Seems like you’re just mad you died rofl

I’m guessing he meant to say that all his skills were on cooldown because he used them all against the thief; and then the thief went into stealth to reset the fight while the Ranger’s had nothing to use anymore.

To return the question; why are you using Deadly Mixture over HGH?

It’s generally considered that Flame Jet is modified by x1.5 your Power value.

Let’s say you had 2000 Power base value, which is about right for FT Engineers sitting on 7-8 stacks of Juggernaut in Berserker gear.

(969 × 2000 × 1.5)/2600 = 1118 damage

+15% by Deadly Mixture = 1285 damage

To match that, you would have to have your Power increased by 300, which is ~8.5
stacks of Might.

(969 × 2300 × 1.5)/2600 = 1285

With the Flamethrower, you’ve only got room for 3 elixirs on your bar—Elixir H, Elixir B, and Elixir R/C/whatever.

You would have to chug all of your elixirs just to match Deadly Mixture, never mind having the luxury of using them when they’re best situationally used or running the Med Kit or Healing Turret.

Ah, I see. That would appear to make Deadly Mixture more beneficial when mainly running with FT out (like me) and I could save my Elixirs for when I actually need them.

Why are you guys using HGH over Deadly Mixture?

Well, I’m no expert on damage potential and calculations; I just figured that the extra stacks of Might could be more beneficial overall. But truthfully I never really thought about it and might give it a try just to see.

To return the question; why are you using Deadly Mixture over HGH?

Are those the armor/trinkets you use too? If so, is precision better than going for condition damage?

Yep, that’s how I started out. I upgraded my amulet to an Ascended one at some point, but that’s the full basis of the build how I started.

Originally I had a full set of Rabid/Rampager but I wasn’t really impressed by it. Besides, the main bulk of damage with a FT is direct damage from my perspective; not condition. The Burning is just an added side-effect and my stacks of Might still offer me a pretty decent amount of additional condition damage. I chose high Precision mainly for the additional might-on-crit so I keep a nice stack of Might at all times. Lots of Might stacks = lots of additional condition damage.

Maybe it could be more viable to go condition if you’re swapping to your pistols all the time, but I usually just stay in my FT and watch the world in flames.

Same thing happening at Tequatl where I’m using Spatial Surge at the boss, but the bone walls and tangling vines around me also show damage numbers.

Also at Jormag I was shooting my purple laz0rz at the dragon, but was also hitting those ice prison things.

So it seems Spatial Surge currently chooses 3 targets within 1200 range radius around the Mesmer if the targets are immobile objects.

I know what he meant. I was just covering both aspects of the ‘using both weapons to attack’ concept. The first is actually using both weapons, which is the domain of the Thief. The second is just appearing to use the offhand for thematic purposes. For example, animatig both swords if you dual wield them.

As to the latter, as I said, they’ve stated in the past that it isn’t something they are considering. They want each attack to have a recognizable animation and not vary depending on the offhand.

That’s a pretty odd stance from ANet then as currently each attack doesn’t even have its own recognizable animation. If I summon my iZerker I do a ‘He-Man’ with my sword, and when I heal I do the same ‘He-Man’ with my sword. And my Guardian has the exact same ‘He-Man’ for his heal.

Besides, shooting a barrage of purple bullets from one pistol or shooting purple bullets from two seems pretty recognizable that it’s a Mesmer using a Pistol MH. Even moreso, it would even show the opponent that the Mesmer is either using a single pistol or if he’s using two. So that would make pistol attacks even more recognizable.

This isn’t meant as an atttack towards you or anything, just that ANet devs don’t even seem understand what they’re talking about half the time in my opinion.

Regardless, I still want a Pistol as a mainhand weapon for my Mesmer.

We aren’t going to get mh weapon skills that trigger the offhand weapon, dual wield skills are the Thief’s domain and they’ve states in the past they aren’t going to utilize the offhand weapon in mh skills, despite complaints from people that the offhand felt ‘dead’.

I believe what he meant was that it would use a different animation only; not separate skills like the Thief where the #3 would change depending on the OH. Best comparison would be that the main attack would have similar animations as ‘Repeater’. Combining it with a second Pistol would change the animation to ‘Unload’.

So, for example, let’s say that ‘Chaotic Barrage’ would fire 5 times if only the MH Pistol was equipped. When equipping a Pistol for both MH and OH, it would use both in its animation and give the impression that it shoots 8 times, but you’d still only see damage numbers 5 times. So it would be mainly for aesthetic purposes so the weapons appear to function as one when using both of them at the same time.

Skill 1
Double Shot:[½ second] Two quick shots at the target(Both pistols if two pistols are used).
Followed by
Aimed Shot:[½ second] An aimed shot at the target, causes 1 stack of Confusion for 1 second.

Skill 2
Illusive Acrobatics:[10 second cooldown] Mirror Images effect. Jumps/rolls to the left or right summoning a clone that jumps/rolls in the opposite side. Clone causes 1 stack of confusion on attacks.

Skill 3
Chaotic Barrage:[15 second cooldown] Phantasmal Duelist type attack using both pistols if two are used. Attacks target repeatedly causing 1 stack of cofusion with every attack.

Just an idea for condition type weapon using mesmers favourite condition. :p

I like it, although having Confusion on every ability doesn’t strike me as overly feasible (not to mention overpowered).

As such I would personally suggest the #1 to be Bleeding instead of Confusion; kinda like a wink to the ‘Sharper Images’ trait. Being able to keep (even one stack of) Confusion up indefinitely wouldn’t work I’m afraid.

As for the #2 ability, that one sounds pretty neat. Kinda like having an extra dodge on demand.

But the clone applying Confusion wouldn’t work as clones in general don’t do anything besides acting like a distraction (unless you select traits). So I would suggest an Evade 1s upon initial activation during the dodge with the clone then proceeding to use ‘Double Shot’.

I would love to have ‘Chaotic Barrage’; but again, firing multiple times and thus applying multiple stacks of Confusion could be way too powerful. Straight up damage might be best in my humble opinion.

But I really like the potential workings of the abilities you thought up though…

For my Asura I went with the T3 Cultural set. The only non-T3 items that I used are the gloves (Outlaw) and the starter eyepiece. I really like the result

FT got a little better but still needs work, 100nades got nerfed into oblivion because of some Photoshopped image with imaginary numbers, KR went the way of the RNG with hidden global cooldowns and that’s about it. Oh, and turrets got buffed but still break when a stiff breeze hits them and are imo still not viable to waste a utility slot on.

Did I miss anything?

Weapons now continue to grant bonus stats while bundles are equipped.

Gadgets placed by players (such as turrets) will now apply boons and conditions based on those players’ stats. Those conditions and boons will not be reduced to level-1 values when the triggering gadget is destroyed.

Bundles from player skills (engineer kits, elementalist conjured weapons, warrior banners) now have base damage that is consistent with the highest rarity weapons available at the level of the player.

Thanks for the link, but wasn’t there a thread regarding this where people found out the kits get a base damage that was consistent and comparable to a single onehanded (Rare) weapon?

I’m not a number-cruncher or anything (I just grind for fun in Orr); but when last I checked, my Power stat goes down when equipping my FT. If it were to be consistent with the highest rarity weapons available to me, shouldn’t that number remain the same?

From my perspective HGH is one of the few things that is actually a decent Grandmaster trait that’s working as intended.

So yeah, that one ability might seem OP in the grand scheme of things … because everything else on an Engineer feels pretty crap.

So maybe ANet should focus on bringing all those underpowered abilities up to accceptable levels, instead of nerfing the few things that actually work into oblivion.

This thread is 3 months old. They have for quite a while now.

Sigils, yes. But I don’t recall weapon stats being applied to our kits as of yet.

I’d love to be proven wrong though, but I notice a mister Jon Peters making posts and promising stuff 4 months ago (and at least every Ranger knows how little those promises actually mean).

Last I heard was that our kits behaved more like a single level 80 rare pistol; even though my pistols are exotics and have a lot more power when combined (but still less overall effectiveness compared to other classes “because we have kits” b/s).

Duelist Discipline being a Master trait

Poor argument since our torch reduction trait is also a Master Trait. Sword is the only weapon reduction trait that isn’t Master actually.

Hmmm, must have missed that then (probably because I never used Torch). I mainly noticed that our Greatsword was a Master trait affecting 5 abilities and Pistol being a Master trait but only affecting 2 abilities. So to me the logic felt a bit off; considering the Sword (as you noted) being just an Adept trait, but affecting 3 abilities. So if anything those should have swapped places.

Still, I don’t view it as an ‘argument’ as I still believe that ArenaNet did intend for Mesmers to have a MH Pistol at launch. But for reasons unknown they launched without it.

(And for reasons known, I still want one!)

Eh, we’re all just throwing around ideas. I think most of us doubt that we’ll ever get a MH pistol…. but without dreams, what are we?

A power-based HM pistol seems interesting, but less fun and interesting than a condition-based pistol (conditions, especially random ones, are a theme of mesmer). Power based pistols are for thieves. I think a lot of Mesmers have looked at the Engineer’s MH pistol and wished they had something like its 3 ability for a MH slot (pistol 4 comes pretty darn close). At least I did.

True, and without dreams we wouldn’t have had the reality we have today.

I just thought I’d mention the possibility; mainly because what we are currently lacking is a ranged onehanded weapon that’s power-based.

I for one would have loved to see something similar to the attack of the iDuelist on the #3 ability; firing a barrage of illusionary bullets at my target. If only the MH pistol was equipped it would shoot a number of times in rapid succession (animation similar to Engineer#2/Thief#3 ‘Repeater’) and if both MH and OH were equipped it would use the animations of the iDuelist/Thief#3 ‘Unload’ (same damage but with the animation of firing both pistols).

I wouldn’t object to it becoming account bound as a player, but I very much doubt ANet will do so, not when they can earn so much more profit by keeping it soulbound.

But the question is do they really earn so much more profit by keeping it soulbound, or would they have earned even more profit by having it account bound.

One of the reasons I’m not going to buy even one of these pickaxes is because it is soulbound instead of accountbound. The other reason is that I don’t feel that a single pickaxe is worth $10/20gold. A full set of gathering tools maybe, but not a single pickaxe.

Anyone ever considered that if ANet would add a mainhand pistol, it wouldn’t necessarily mean it’s going to be another condition-based weapon. We already have the Scepter as a ranged onehanded condition based weapon, but we are currently lacking a ranged onehanded power based weapon.

And because we are currently lacking a power based ranged onehander that’s one of the reasons why I believe that ANet originally intended to have the pistol as a mainhand option at launch. That, and Duelist Discipline being a Master trait as well as having 2 illusionary pistols in the game (Lyss and Ilya).

Just thought I’d coin that possibility.

That mod is commonly known as the ‘zoom-hack’ and if ANet would find out you are using such a program, they may likely ban your account because they do not allow third-party modifications.
