Ok this is getting ridiculous. Just saw someone use 5 revive orbs to ress themselves instead of just taking an extra 40 seconds to run back. I guess that is good for gem store sales?
Having a zerg below will affect what happens in the dome. Try moving to another overflow/dome. Also its better to watch his animation instead of the laser. If he’s kneeling for more than 2 seconds, it’s definitely a headshot coming your way.

Okay this is annoying… it appeared when I went to Diessa too :S I wonder if it’s something wrong with my graphics card?
I kept getting that purple thing covering my screen whenever I moved my camera around. This only happened when I went to Frostgorge Sound at the hot air balloon near Skyheight Steading Waypoint. Not sure what’s causing it but that is the only place I encountered this
@skcamow – That’s an interesting build; I like that you managed to fit IP and CI together. I just can’t imagine myself going without Deceptive Evasion or having less crit chance though without those points in Dueling for a shatter build XD
@Scynja – I agree, I wouldn’t run an interrupt-focused build in PVE but it is viable in PVP/WVW imo.

I’m sacrificing IP but it’s actually not too bad with the high clone production. I like the delay on interrupts using Diversion as well because it gives me 3 chances to interrupt an enemy just when they think they’re free from it :P If I need instant interrupts, I just use Into the Void and Chaos Storm.

Illusionary Persona definitely has it perks, although if one were to get Chaotic Interruption something would have to be sacrificed. I like Chaotic Interruption for group fights just because it gives everyone some breathing time to get ready for a burst. I guess it’s just different preferences at this point

I’ve noticed that the animation for when we loot things and they begin appearing on the right side of the screen changed, making it so that the icons fade slower and smoother. However, the icons can sometimes block the exit arrow (the one that appears right above your map) when you finish a dungeon. This makes it slightly frustrating because I have to way for alllllll the items to fade out so I can get out of the dungeon. I’m not entirely sure if there is something wrong with my settings or if anyone else is having this problem.

Again the key (other than major, minor, dorian, etc.) wouldn’t matter. What would matter is the starting note. Like a violin in C major but the lowest note being a G rather than C.

We are basically saying the same thing :/ Yes the key wouldn’t matter, but having another instrument in a different key would be nice as a lot of the sheet music that I have tend to follow C.. I wouldnt really want to transpose everything when we could simply have a different instrument in a different key, or maybe even an extra octave on the flute

The key doesn’t matter. You can take any piece and transpose it into any key to make it work. Even if they released something in C Major it would start on Do.
Other than accidentals the biggest problem I’ve run into is not fitting into the octave restraint.

Hey Osi, this may have been mentioned here before, but how would you change your shatter cat heavy build for dungeoning? (e.g. runes, utilities, etc.). I have been wanting to try out a shatter build in PVE (I currently run phantasm)… would you just change everything to berserker?
Get the Boast skill from the sylvari NPC, it should somewhat help when he starts spamming and you’re in a bind
It would be awesome if it comes back as a fractal or something and then you can race with your party haha!
But yea, I’m also having a lot more fun with Sanctum Sprint than Belcher’s Bluff (don’t get me wrong, Belcher’s Bluff is fun too). Kind of reminds me of Crash Team Racing lol

Yes, portals do allow players to breeze through some of the content; however, you’re certainly welcome to do it manually without using portals. Even as a mesmer, I tried jumping all the way to the goggles just so I can experience the whole thing. After numerous unsuccessful attempts to get the Dive Master achievement, I went ahead and took the mesmer portals to the blimp and then to the goggles. Mind you, this took me THREE HOURS. If I were to keep trying to get the achievement, I would probably end up being there all day. I honestly think that the portals and the mass ressing is promoting cooperation among people in the server. I mean really, virtually anywhere I fall, there is at least one person there willing to ress me.
And yes, this is one very important advantage to being a mesmer. However, keep in mind that every class has their own perks as well. For instance, warriors with their aoe ress with Warbanner, necros and their double HPs hence their ability to tank and live through fall damage. The portal skill is working as intended and if you think that it is ruining the content for you, it’s very simple to opt not to take them.
too bad that the group is taking you for your utility and not for your burst. having 3 reflects instead of 1, all of them having cd reduction, is kinda a huge deal…
^This. I often find the rest of my party running zerker gears in high level fractals, so damage isn’t an issue. Having my reflects available faster as well as having flexibility with my traits depending on the situation (feedback on ress, condition removal on shatter) really helps with keeping my party alive.

In PVE, I like to run that phantasm build (20/20/0/30/0). The only difference is, I like to take the Shattering Conditions trait against condition damage-heavy mobs instead of the extra health on my phantasms.
In WvW, I like to run shatter build (0/20/20/0/30). I find the 20 on toughness instead of vitality much more important, especially as a mesmer because of the -50% fall damage for porting and also the staff cooldown reduction. Putting points in here instead of Domination is also much better when zerging, I find.

Yes, I have Bifrost… but I’ve only seen auras on clones, rainbow trails on blink so far. I was just wondering if more effects could be done with it. I remember reading a dev post about how they are looking into improving current legendaries and I wanted to know whether anything about Bifrost for mesmers will be changed.
I’m sure this has been discussed before somewhere but I couldn’t find it in recent posts. Anyway, title is pretty self explanatory. There seems to be a lack of effects found in mesmer skills using the legendary staff Bifrost. The staff being one of the best weapons for mesmers, I find this somewhat disappointing. I like being able to walk around spawning rainbows in midair but I’d also like to see more effects using staff skills. It doesn’t have to be something elaborate even. It could be something like shooting rainbow projectiles for Staff #1 or a rainbow-colored Chaos Armor.
Compared to the effects seen when using legendary greatswords, the effects we can see while using Bifrost isn’t nearly as “complete” (for lack of a better term).
Thank god I got most of the dust I needed for Bifrost when incandescent dust was like 24c each 0_0

As someone who regularly converts COF tokens to ectos… I did notice this reduced rate too after the patch on the 28th. Normally, 1000 COF tokens yields ~30 ectos. After the patch, I only got ~15. I asked a friend to test this with me and he too got around 15 ectos. We both used Master Salvage kits and tested this with about 4k COF tokens. Neither of us got 0-1 ectos per salvage and seemed to have obtained 50% less ectos pre-patch.
Most GS mesmers would start off by attacking from a distance, which means that they would be off-point.
1. Use this time to get out of their line of sight and prevent them from summoning iBerserker.
2. If you can’t do number 1, summon clones and iWarlock, pop Chaos Armor
3. Proceed to close gap with sword and pressure them… shatter if you must
4. If they use GS 5, close the gap again with blink or sword
Basically, keeping close to them will most likely force them to use sword for melee combat. Once this happens, I normally switch to staff to negate the damage they might do with the sword while at the same time putting conditions faster
iWarden, when allowed to do its full attack animation, can do about 7k damage on average.. at least for my berserker build.
In terms of normal attack (#1), GS seems to do the most.
Did you mean that the MF buff will also be taken out?

1. Mirror Images, Blink, Feedback for defense
2. Use sword (with sword trait) to immobilize assassins and burst using Mirror Images.
3. After killing an assassin, switch to GS and cripple mobs as you help your team kill them.
4. Dodge roll + blink to get out of knock back
5. Switch back to sword/focus, summon iWarden on assassin, immobilize ASAP when they appear.
At least that’s my main setup for this run. I like to take clone on dodge trait as well for shatters and defense.

3. COF farming = more rares = more ectos

Yes IT IS disgusting. I was supposed to have more than 110 pristine tokens but I spent some for an alt. Yet, with all my hardwork, I have only gotten 4 skins. FOUR. Scepter, rifle, warhorn, axe.
Seriously, just four skins total within a span of 4 months.
It doesn’t need a nerf. Swap is quite easy to escape/run away from using stun breaks or by simply dodge rolling away right when you see a clone leaping at you. Against really good players, I feel lucky to even land the full attack chain of Blurred Frenzy.
I agree that having the event span over a course of a few weeks was better than having it all happen in one day; however, by the “epic feel” to the Karka event, I guess I was referring to how the content was actually challenging in the sense that it took some coordination to kill each karka.
Looking at the F&F event, the MF dungeon just feels like a farming job to get substantial rewards (I was only able to run it twice cause I couldn’t imagine doing it 10 more times) while the Karka event was lengthy, yes, but with significant rewards (I’m not talking about precursors— but just the chance of getting an exotic or a 20 slot bag without the RNG).
I know that they have explained that the reason for this horrible matchmaking is because we have too few people playing sPvP. But if you think about it, this is a terrible solution as it only sways MORE people AWAY from sPvP. I can only reminisce about my very first tPvP match as a rank 5 going against a premade of rank 30s. That experience just made me keep my distance from this game mode even more.
I think that instead of implementing e-sportesque features, Anet should first address these problems…
After reading all the complaints about the Karka event last November, it made me think… am I the only one who thoroughly enjoyed that whole 2-hour chaos? I thought Anet did an excellent job making the whole thing feel epic. I’m just hoping that the Living Story finale will also be on the same scale
