Aspiring Brotherhood [PACT]
Fort Aspenwood
Spoiler Alert
Captain Romke explains that he was trying to circumnavigate Tyria when his ship was wrecked by the rising of Orr. That would suggest to me that Tyria is spherical and that the people know it.
I’ve seen some pretty offensive things using accented characters (like ß) Also have seen some really really bad guild names.
With a Guild names Browncoats of Serenity Valley how could she be anything else?
Wow. Just wow. I wonder how the Jewish community feels about their religion being classified as a dirty word. That in and of itself is offensive. But I understand they have good intentions.
I tried to create a character named Kaylee Jewel and it told me that the name is inappropriate. What is offensive about Jewel? I know it’s Jewel because I’ve named characters Kaylee before. So what gives?
The Far Shiverpeaks! Let’s take back the North from Jormag and return the Norn to our… err. their rightful place.
If you are on a role playing server, why would people lash out on you for role playing? I don’t understand.
I have one from October and one from February.
Practice practice practice. I think that’s why they put that as a daily. To get us trying it. Here’s what I did.
Go to Wayfarer Foothills at the Grawlenfjord (sp?) waypoint. Tag a Grawl Hunter and just let him shoot at you. Try the double tap q or e practice the timing, you’ll start to see when he’s getting ready to shoot at you. Not long after you’ll find yourself doing it in real combat and saving yourself a lot of damage.
Yeah the Mystic Forge is a total slot machine, that 10,000,000 dollar progressive jackpot is going to pay out, it’s just that you have to put in 100, 000,000 dollars to get it. Or something… I’ve been up all night I can’t make good analogies,..
I’ll say this about the Guild Wars community based on GW1
I logged on to GW1 a few months before the release of GW2, I had been playing WoW for a few years and had forgotten a bunch of basic stuff. I went into Kamadan and asked a bunch of questions which would have gotten me an enormous amount of negativity if I had asked in WoW. Not only did I get 4 or 5 different people immediately offering to help me, not one person gave me any grief over it.
I feel the same sense of community in GW2. And I did log back onto WoW a few months ago to give my stuff away to a friend who still plays that, and was just amazed at how hateful and immature the atmosphere was.

Keep Flying
Just about any planet is going to be colder at the poles and warmer at the equator by virtue of it’s rotation relative to its sun.
The human ‘raised by common folk’ story line features 2 characters named Andrew and Petra. Could be an Ender’s Game reference?

How about removing WvW kills from the PvE monthly, but adding a new daily and monthly chest in WvW. Rewards could be blueprints, badges, finishers etc.
Oh wow, I totally had the math thing backwards in my head. It’s not the first time and it won’t be the last.
Currently people can place orders for items at 1c per item, which effectively shuts down instant selling for that item since you can’t sell them for 1c even if you wanted to. I can’t think of any good or legitimate reason anyone would place custom orders for 1c, therefore why not have a minimum custom order of 1c above sell to vendor price. Otherwise players can lockout everyone’s ability to set custom orders and sell to the current highest buyer.
I should have tried it with out the top.
Interesting, I didn’t even make that connection. Could be.
The soundtrack is impressive. Vistas, massive battles in WvW.
On the leg of the leggings I just equipped [Mighty Embroidered Pants] are the New Krytan letters N S A R C H from top to bottom. The letters were also reversed like you were seeing them in a mirror. Does NSARCH or HCRASN mean anything to anyone? Any idea why they’d choose those letters to put on the pants?
I have an image here for you to see.

Thanks, now that I see the definition I get it, and I have experienced the “what just happened to me” thing.
I keep hearing about how culling is being changed and this and that, but I can’t find what culling is. So what is it?
Fear not this night. (I haven’t completed the story, I just guess by what you are saying) I believe you can actually buy this soundtrack it’s like 4 discs long and has that song plus some of the best score music I’ve ever heard (and I am a big fan of the genre)
Actually, (yes it is disturbing) it’s the most realistic, ‘just got the wind knocked out of you’ sound I’ve heard in a video game.
Is there any advantage to having more than 2 disciplines. I know crafting comes into legendary gear, but aren’t most legendary items weapons? Should we always choose weaponsmithing? I’m obviously missing something.
Also, let’s lose favorite map, they are totally random, so if you don’t specifically try to join a map in progress, you are getting a random map. Either that or your favorite map is Forest of Nifhel because you tried a few free tournaments.
Yeah, so what you’re saying is you want to be able to buy gold so that you can identify the gold sellers? It isn’t our responsibility as players to conduct sting operations against gold sellers. This would just increase the gold selling by encouraging those people who would buy gold but don’t because they fear getting banned.
Since it takes so much time to gather up enough dungeon tokens to buy something, how about making them collectible so we can have those slots freed up in our bank?
Kind of the whole point in eliminating quest hubs is that you don’t have to follow a straight line. You’re supposed to go off course, that’s all part of the plan.
It’s not about making money, it’s a deterrent from people hopping servers every week because they can’t handle losing at WvW.
Location: Rellaitus Canyon, Blazeridge Steppes, Ascalon.
Problem: When hitting a skritt trap I fell down and did not get up for about a minute, then I could not move or jump. I could swing weapons, but not move from that spot, I relogged and it hit me again and did the same thing, I finally managed to carefully get out of the area.
Yeah, pretty sure that will happen, they had it in Guild Wars, they’ll probably have it here once they implement guild halls.
Mounts do not belong in Guild Wars. They add nothing to the game and only serve to add to the clutter. Waypoints are instantaneous, why would you want to use a mount? No, this idea shouldn’t be introduced. This isn’t World of Warcraft.
I always have at least a half an hour left on a glory booster after getting my chest. The reward for the daily is a glory booster and a tournament ticket, so if you don’t want to PvP long enough to burn a glory booster (which would very easily get you your daily) why do PvP at all? It’s not required or anything and you only get PvP rewards and it doesn’t sound like you enjoy it.
You only need to find them, you don’t have to complete them.
I believe you only get the 3.
If you only PvP, what use would you have with gold?
It would be nice to have our guild’s name on the buff banners rather than just the tag. It would help for reputation and maybe recruiting. Plus it just makes sense.
It would also be cool to have one of the guild vendors sell guild pvp finishers with our guild logo.
This happened; I opened the chest from Tixx in Heart of the Mists, got a reward, then went to LA, no reward, he said I already opened it. My wife went to LA first, got the reward, then went to Heart of the Mists, no reward.
This kinda blows because the PvP rewards are no where near as cool as the LA rewards even if I look forward to dropping a snowman on someone. Plus the back from PvP has no stats and it thus completely useless.
An option to disable hearing other players banter and interaction with NPCs would be excellent.
Like when several players access an NPCs wares and you have to hear the NPC spiel over and over and over, while you’re in it’s vicinity.
Also, playing or being around a warrior and having to hear “For Great Justice” every 25secs.. omg please. Just, no. Shoot me in the face.
Yes, this! I like the conversations, but not the banter. If you are wondering what I mean, go to the bank in LA and just sit there for 5 minutes.
I really like the random conversations I overhear when walking around, I don’t want to go into options and turn off dialogue or npc speech or something. But I am driven crazy by things like “WHAT?!” “Out with it” “MONSTERS!!” etc etc
Also please figure out a way to silence the people who sit in town and spam “For Great Justice”
Yes, there is a huge lack of leadership in WvW, no skill is required to get commander rank, and chat is filled with people bickering about who made mistakes, rather than trying to organize.
Also, turn off the icons in PvE, please?
Yes, more options for access to the guild stash, I want maybe rank a to have access to money but only a certain amount per day, or like you said have access to items and not money.
I clicked the +1 button, what does that do? But I totally agree big time.
It says the body length must be at least 15 characters…. There, now I can use my intended response.
No.
Selling gems for gold is really not an effective way of getting game gold. If you feel bad about it, don’t do it, simple. I buy gems primarily to expand my inventory options, character slots, and to buy chest keys. Since chest keys are so rare (compared to the chests) I don’t really feel bad doing it. Nothing I’ve bought gives me any advantage over other players.
Not sure where the right place to post this, but the bots near the Yak’s Bend waypoint are not just plentiful, they are affecting gameplay by rounding up Arctodus and Grawl, and bringing them to a huge group of bots. I’ve gotten over-run and killed at least 3 times in that area. I have some screen shots. It’s basically had the effect of ruining that part of the zone for me, which is really unfortunate, because it is one of the places where if you stand in a certain spot, you can see the topology of GW1 Yak’s Bend.
You should only feel bad if you can’t afford the gems and you are diverting money from more important things, but the way I look at it is this. Recently I had a $15 recurring bill that I managed to finally get rid of, so if I buy 800 gems a month, I’m still $5 ahead.
