Isnt this just a power vs condition damage build. Because warlocks don’t without conditions.
No, it isn’t. Warlocks scale with number of unique conditions on the target. That has absolutely nothing to do with condition damage.
Ah ok, thought they scaled by stack rather than unique conditions.

So little. Condition damage just doesn’t seem to work in PvE in my opinion, atleast not like the Necromancers CD. The builds are barely viable as we cannot stack condition damage enough for it to be worthwhile, except in large group events where the iwarlock can hit excess of 10k, however this is usually only when paired with a necro.
However, if you do want to try some of the PvE condition builds, have a look at the guide list in the stickies, but remember what your looking for. Dungeons, yes. Leveling, no. Have fun trying them out though, respeccing is cheap and easy. ( I would personally look at a bleed phantasm build)

I seem to confuse people more on my Norn mesmer than I ever did on my Asura mesmer.
This is why Norns, are the best. Go norn or go home.

An asura is harder to spot in wvwvw, however they have the smallest FOV which means you need to move a lot to see past bushes. While a norn or charr are big and tall, they can stand at the bottom of a hill unseen, zoom all the way out and still see over it. Jm.

To start off with, shatter builds are highly effective in PvP providing possibly the highest spike damage, but you have to get it right. People learn how to counter shatter builds so it requires that have to adapt to nail the shatters. If you want a build that is good in PvP try a confusion build, however for the jack of all trades look at a seven mirors shatter build or pyroatheists immortal/pve both of which are great! have fun

I used the pebble method, however it is unreliable. 1 golds worth of lv 20 pebbles led a few amount of silver doubloons, but it’s still viable

I just went for the campest norn possible. Mine is called Ben Wan

That would be quite overpowered, especially when glamour skills are traited as such that they apply confusion, and allow you more mobility when trying to combo finish. The person receiving it becomes a sitting duck for mesmers to leap in to get chaos armor and bully, especially as they cannot use ranged attacks.

The staff is a good weapon to start off with, GS/Staff are common when leveling up. The staff has good AoE damage, and in particular it really shines when using chaos storm →phase retreat→Spam skill 1→ Run into chaos storm and use Chaos armor in the last second.
It is a great utility for dispensing boons and conditions and survivability on the whole tbh.

Mesmer is a slow start class. Whereas the warrior can jump in and have an easy time the Mesmer is more like the Elementalist with a slower hard start. The mesmer is really based around trait and utility rotations which you won’t get around until level 40. Up until level 40 you may feel squishy, but at 40 you can explore builds etc. If your finding a hard time I recommend Pyroatheists Imortal build as it has good survivability.
As for shattering, think of it in steps. Clones do no real damage (except staff clones) and Illusions do damage but it varies, iDefender does a lot less than iSwordsman. As far as timing, they hug the opponent anyway, try and build up 3 clones or illusions and shatter. With illusions such as the greatsword one, wait until the attack has taken place and then you want to generally shatter. Clones are made for shattering and confusion. F1 is your friend, F2 is useful in PvP more often, especially on classes that will slowly kill themselves, such as a Thief.
It is a great class, and once you reach 35-40 you will start having a blast as it is easily one of the most versatile classes in the game.

Aha, Hey, decided to make a video for Youtube highlighting the basic use of the Mystic Forge. The Audio may be a bit messed up, my voice sounds slightly odd but it is in Sync and HD. First video so you can still hate, just a bit more gently. Tried editing it quite nicely too. Improvements?
Anyway…It was fun giving it a go aha, and I do love that Mystic Forge

Aha, Well Mesmer v Mesmer is a real out there duel, if you know how your illusions work theres a good chance so do they, so you can’t trick them as such. Tbh it normally goes down to who dodges correctly, and who uses the best combos. If you can try and use a staff in your other hand, Drop down 5 and run in and use 2, this will combo Chaos Armor for you, now you have lots of boons, normally 4 or 5 and they have 3 or 4 conditions. Extend the time to 10s by hitting the actual Chaos armor skill and switch to your sword again.
From there on it is basicly, dodge, heal, attack Since they will differentiate your illusions and yourself, shatter a lot, but don’t bother with Mind Wrack, use 2 for Confusion or 3 for daze, which if traited could also stun.

I too am a user of GS and Staff and I find that going into domination is on my list of traits too, I also add points into chaos and inspiration. This gives me a decent damage output, but I act as a pretty tanked buff bot

Contradicting my own statement, I reckon a major boost without making us OP would be to increase the auto attack swing time by 0.1 second, that would be slower than the greatsword which makes sense.
You can find me in PvP | I normally answer PMs
The hammer is a heavier weapon, while the greatsword is great for damage output, the hammer works really well for the defensive/support type. While it is slower, it is not designed to deal crazy damage, the point is that you immobilize the enemy and bash away at him.
For example, start of with Zealots Embrace and run up to the enemy and use Ring of Warding. This traps him in the circle with you, Using Banish and Mighty Blow can deal some heavy damage, and while those are on cooldown your auto attack will deal some medium damage output, but also shield you.
