400 condition damage seems low considering its main attack is a bleed. i think boosting it 700 is reasonable (same as drakes).
since todays patch ive been crashing on world bosses. twice on tequatl (two separate attemtps) and once on jungle worm
have never had this issue before so im assuming its issue that was presented with todays updates
bristleback is the best tank and best ranged pet all rolled into to one
I want a swarm of pocket raptors as a ranger pet.
they should changed “Sic ’em!” so that a group of pocket raptors latch on to your target and do damage
kinda like the bird swarm warhorn ability
when are we getting a pocket raptor mini????
some things i have noticed
bristleback:
- even if you dont use the F2 at all, it still deals substantially more DPS than the other ranged pets (spiders/devourers). i was averaging 25 second kills with bristleback (without f2) and 37ish with spiders (without f2, 35ish with f2)
- despite what its stats are listed as, it seems to have the same vitality and toughness as a bear (50k hp lol). basically, it tanks just as well as bears but deals twice the dps.
Wyverns:
- are still bad even against stationary targets. was averaging 45 second kills, compared to drakes (which supply better AOE, and have better durability) which were averaging 38ish.
- electric wyvern F2 seems broken. even against stationary targets it only inflicts minimal damage.
- fire wyvern F2 is decent, but needs to be cast on the target instead of on the wyvern (we already know this, though)
right now there seems to be no reason to use wyverns over drakes unless you really need the fields. wyvern passive damage is just really low which is further compounded by long cast times
(edited by Blacksarevok.8104)
id like to add:
- Wyvern auto-attacks sped up by 40-50%
- Bristleback F2 issues with uneven terrain fixed
got my tiger 2 days ago. F2 seems pretty good due to the low CD. its eye blinking animation is messed up though (be warned, once you see you cant unsee)
couldnt get anyone to port up for the E wyvern, though from what I understand the wyverns are pretty bad right now, so no rush i guess
…but can only use 1 underwater weapon type (spear)?
is there something im not getting here?
also, sorry if this was answered recently
can anyone confirm if this was addressed at all in one of the recent patches?
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/bugs/Victory-or-Death-Bug-merged
please post in this thread
it seems instead of the 50% falling damage reduction being always active from Protector’s Impact, it only works when Symbol of Protection procs. if the symbol is on cooldown, you do not recieve the falling damage reduction
im considering this a bug because all of the other classes falling damage reduction is active 100% of time, not just when their appropriate ability procs.
(EX: Thieves using the Cloaked in Shadow trait always have 50% fall damage reduction, not just when Cloaked in Shadow procs)
having the same issue
occasionally during cutscenes, some lines of dialogue wont have voice acting. its seemingly random which lines dont have sound and which quests are affected.
the cannons on the airship are bugged, you cant interact with them to reflect the Risen Giant attacks back at them

she was injured during claw island defense, so that could be why
Is the reintroduction of the “My greatest fear” personal storyline and the changes to the Orr personal storyline progression coming with the patch tomorrow?
I’m sorry if this was answered already.
yeah i agree, they seem to take twice as long to load now
sounds like skeleton rattling to me
but yes, i hear it too. all over divinity’s reach
So from what I understand, this attack is essentially broken into 2 parts: 7 hits from the whirl + 7 possible hits from the projectiles. In order to maximize damage, you want to stand within the enemies hitbox so the 7 projectiles hit.
My question is, do you also need to be right inside the hitbox for all 7 whirl hits to land as well? I noticed that if am just outside the hitbox but well within melee range, I only get about 5 total hits out 14, meaning some of the whirl hits are not landing in addition to the projectile hits.
I only do PVE and WvW, and I find myself usually falling back to Thief. It’s weird because I’ll always get angry about how squishy they are (like getting one-shot by WB attacks) and go and play my Warrior for a while, but inevitably I always go back to Thief.
kicked off in the middle of fighting dwayna….
I’m here with like 6 or 7 other people, can confirm the cannons are broken.
Looks like there is an invisible wall blocking the shots.
Well, there are people working 24/7 to fix Lion’s Arch, and it hasn’t changed much at all since they started. Kessex doesn’t even have anyone working on it.
Didn’t Anet say a few weeks ago that they were going to fix Lions Arch?
Made me assume it would be back to normal in the expansion.
Kinda tired of looking at that big ugly wreck in the middle of the lake, and all the debris on the shore.
Zone used to be really pretty
for raw damage I usually go 4/6/0/0/4 w/ scholars, not sure if it’s the optimal build though
(for PVE)

imo they should close the DPS gap between sword and GS a bit more (maybe like 8-10% instead of 17%).
That way sword would still be optimal DPS due to requiring more skill, but GS would at least be a viable alternative to people who don’t want to deal with the sword leaps.
When i had hard to do skill points for my first WC i found this item to be of great help.

Ohh, I never would have thought of this. Thanks!
A friend and I were able to hide in a nook, shadow refuge, and grab it, amazingly enough.
Disregard this thread,haha
- best non-sub game out there
- amazing art/music
- world content that’s actually relevant
- WvW
- story is great, despite the Orr quest changes that ruined the pacing/consistency
Either try to change map, wait (or better, organize) a recapturing zerg, or come back later when the temple has been retaken.
I’ve logged on 4 days in a row, contested and no one is interested in organizing. Probably doesn’t help that I can only play late hours, but nothing I can do about that.
Previously I just kept guesting until I found a server with it completed, but sadly that doesn’t work anymore.
When the event is active, Is there someone way to avoid the hundreds of mobs and hit the SP?
Or should I just give up on Straits map completion?
I asked cos the dmg difference between sword aa/pw is somewhat irrelevant when the skills are compared with all aspects not just dmg. PW has stun/evade and it’s initiative hungry so I wouldn’t use it just for the dmg alone.
Also depending on the build (I am thinking x/6/x/x/6 here), you can get up to 25% dmg increase if you don’t dump all ini into pw (first strikes/lead attacks). So imo, it’s still better to use aa when possible and PW only if I want to evade/stun. Don’t take me wrong, PW hits like truck (yolo builds can down squishies with single PW) but if you use all ini on spamming PW, you are dead.
I guess I’m mostly referring to the standard 66xxx pve speed builds. I should have specified PVE
For a scenario when you are just sitting there smacking something (ex: world bosses) and initiative is not of concern, would it be a dps increase to use PW over auto chain? (obviously assuming you aren’t going below 6 for First Strikes)
Do you use only a skill with the highest dps in a weapon set?
I’m not sure what this has to do with anything?
PW? What’s that?
Pistol Whip
I haven’t played in quite a while so I’m not up to date on these things.
The wiki states the latest buff increased it’s dps by 13-16%, I’m assuming that makes up for the old 15% damage nerf it got? Meaning it should do 8-10% more dps than auto-chain?
I just wanted to add that the Sylvari cultural T3 Harpoon Gun is using the rifle model instead of the Harpoon Gun model. Interesting enough, there are two separate items listed in the Wardrobe Storage, Warden’s Speargun and Wardens Harpoon Gun.
Warden’s Speargun: Available in-game, uses the incorrect Rifle model
Warden’s Harpoon Gun: Uses the correct Harpoon Gun model, can be previewed through wardrobe storage but is not available in game.
So either the Warden’s Speargun needs to have it’s model changed to the Warden’s Harpoon Gun, or the Warden’s Harpoon Gun needs to be added for purchase to the Sylvari T3 cultural weapons vendor.
Sex – Female
Race – Sylvari
Class – Any
One of the Sylvari female hairstyles clips noticeably into the head when moving. I noticed you guys fixed a lot of the human hairstyles than had this issue, could you look into this one too?

Looks good to me. I wouldn’t even be mad if they got rid of the Fury too, I just want the kitten thing to do damage.
Prolly just go axe since I pretty much only do PVE right now anyway.
Though Ranger is looking pretty sweet now.
The 100b nerf is over-exaggerated.
The adrenaline changes combined with surprisingly underwhelming Arcing Slice change are not being over-exaggerated.
Tested it out for a couple hours. Imo its the same old arcing slice in an aoe. Its not worth using it how it is now unless you need the fury or ire proc.
If they make it 100% more dmg at enemy hp less than 50% then this skill be very worth it. But atm it’s just meh. The 8% extra nerf only made it worse and it doesn’t do much of a bonus to ppl with less than 50% hp. Its just a 1k-1.15k dmg increase to targets less than 50% so it only does 2k more dmg than an auto atk.
The 8% base damage decrease is the worst of all, makes the overall increased damage of the ability even more lackluster than it seems at first glance. I wouldn’t be so disenchanted with the whole change if they didn’t nerf the abilities base damage.
Like everyone else said, perfect example of bait n’ switch.

>Arcing Slice: This skill now deals 50% more damage to foes below 50% health.
>This skill now deals 50% more damage to foes below 50% health.
>deals 50% more damage to foes below 50% health.
>50% more damage
lol….
[Bonus lol: Lowered base damage by 8%.]
Facial piercings
Would be cool if all races got some, but at the very least for Humans/Norn
If they kill my husbando I’m done with this game.
- get rid of the bleeds
- buff the direct damage enough to be a viable AOE, but weaker single target than BS
- profit
Yeah, active and passives should fill different roles.
Damage passive = defensive/utility active, Defensive passive = damage/utility active, etc…
I like the new buffed passive, but personally I would like to see the active grant 2 block charges or some other kind of reliable avoidance.
In the case of Pistol Whip, I personally don’t want to see the damage nerf undone. Instead, I’d like to see the half second delay before the stun lands shortened, which will both improve the DPS of the skill when weaved into a combo, as well as empowering the stun aspect of the skill.
That would have the added benifit of allowing the skill to be intentionally used for its evade. As it stands now, the evade portion is more incidental, as only the most telegraphed attacks can be intentionally evaded with it.
It’s a good idea, I’d even be okay with just speeding the entire animation up 15%. Though honestly just increasing the damage by 15% would be the easiest solution, even if just temporary until they can implement something better.
Every other class was affected by this nerf. The warriors were hurt the most since a lot use it.
Thieves have MANY other viable alternatives and if all else fail..restealth restealth resteathl and use the weapon. abilities that have no cooldowns unlike every other class in the game.
If you thought the thief ‘nerfs’ in this patch were significant..I’m afraid you were relying too much on handicaps.
100b still hits for more than auto-attack.
PW does not.
PW still stuns.
100b does not.
Would you rather have 100b deal less than auto-attack damage in trade for a .5 stun that has a .5 second delay before it even hits?
I didn’t think so.
