While it is true that these events were designed to reoccur, they also said in one of the more recent Wintersday-Livestream that they had to / have to implement each event in LA and other areas. There is no switch for “Wintersday On/Off”, maybe a template, but nothing that couldn’t be adapted to map changes. All of the decorations are designed and finished, all Anet will have to do is to relocate them to a new layout (if there will be one).

To be fair, they blew it up between games, you can visit Luclin if you play EQ1 but not in EQ2. And, as far as I can see, there is a intact moon in EQN, which will be, most likely, Luclin again (except they change Lore).

You just have to get the golem parts from the center of the map (which can be quite annoying, I did mine early in the morning) and that isn’t even part of the Living Story, just a single achievement which does not progress the story (the track in the top right corner of your screen).

The rest of the Living Story takes place in: LA, DR, Base in Edge of the Mist.

And I can’t log in with my character anymore…

It’s certainly not the internet connection. It’s just a data overflow (haha), too many want to get on that map. I can’t even login with that particular character anymore.

I guess everyone is having issues… I’ve got several connection errors myself and I think I’ll just try this one in a week or so…

Well, I don’t really know what I expected… Massive amounts of players rush to the new map, be it for wvw or for the living story. I would be suprised if there wasn’t any lag at all.

because it was based on a cultural t3 armor skin. it’s unfair to those people who bought the cultural armor with gold, and, what is more, cultural armor is supposed to be exclusive to one race, not open for every race via the gem store.

Stop complaining, request a refund. It’s not like no one has seen this coming!

It was a cultural tier 3 armor at first, which was wrong in so many ways in the first place.
Only fair to change it to some common armor skin with flame effects.

I wasn’t sure about that point either, so I just wrote it down.
After not getting the achievements although the event was successful and I avoided the attacks of the marionette, I just tried to not getting any aoe dmg at all (including the aoes of the champions, and therefore not getting downed).

I, too, don’t think it matters if you get hit by the champions with their aoe. Personally, I think you should just stay alive and avoid the marionettes aoes. That is all

I’ve got the achievements (all of them, so they are not bugged in the classical sense)… what I’ve experienced was, that you have to meet certain conditions to get the achievement:
- don’t get hit by any of the marionettes attacks
- don’t get downed by the champion (it doesn’t matter if you’re out of the way of the attacks, once you get downed, you’re achievement chance is gone)
- don’t get hit by any of the champions aes (though I’m not really certain of this one)
- succeed in the warden event (isn’t really up to you… you have to be lucky with the rest of the players)

Then again if you meet all of that and still didn’t get it, I’d assume it has to do with your loading time, as other said already.

Guys, please keep in mind that he said “the warden event” (“the entire event up on the platforms”) and there was no mention of other players in order to get credit for the achievement. It would indeed be way too difficult if you have to complete the whole marionette event AND other players had to dodge as well in order to get the achievement.

There is no need for open PvP here. We have sPvP and WvW. That should be more than enough for the competitive kind of players.

I don’t want to get killed by people just because they can’t stand my name or face or whatever. This “feature” would soon be abused by trolls. As Cellokitty said already, this game was made to work together, not against each other. Also, there is no lore reason for open pvp. There’s no hate between the different races. Even Charr and Humans are working together against the dragons… I meant Scarlet.

I didn’t expect the tower event to be over so soon, but the instance was awesome and the final cutscene more than epic!

It would’ve been even more epic, if we had do fight our way back down with a timer ticking down (just for the drama and epicness).

I’m a little disappointed about Wintersday. It’s just recycled content from last year.
Ascended Armor and balance update are nice though.

This is because it’s the place where the sylvari tutorial (the awakening from the dream) takes place. This is the final boss fight. Much like the elemental in Shaemoor or Issomir in Wayfarers Foothills, the boss fights take place in the starter zones.

The dream is nothing more than a fracture of Caledon Forest.

Long story short: It’s a glitch due to Caledon Forest being the base map for the dream.

Yeah like Scarlet trying to land her Aetherblade ship at the krait obelisk then suddenly her ship is struck by some krait magic and she just dies randomly. A krait then walks by Scarlet’s corpse and wears her wig.

I’ve been there for the halloween doors, but it seems there has been a lot of wood cut down… A LOT…. literally the whole forest near the shore of the lake.

You also can’t dive to the krait anymore, there’s an invisble barrier.

I’d guess it will be live in around… 3 hours (or a bit more). The Queen’s Jubilee did take a bit longer (and therefore the servers went down earlier) because of the change to the account wallet, since I think the database had to be adapted as well. This was a major change with cricital data from every character in game. Since nothing like that will happen in The Queen’s Speech, I think they will return to normal patch times.

I don’t know how this data mining works, but don’t they get it out of the current patched client? Maybe the whole data for the queens speech isn’t in the client yet? But then… I have absolutely no idea :P

It’s not the ending for the story. It ties up the parts and loose ends of the living stories from the past, but the living story itself will continue.

There was a trick to do this?

I did it with my mesmer on Subject 7.

I finally did it. I don’t know how, I was too confused and frustrated being downed within the last 5% of Liadris HP… and I didn’t even count the orbs I used on her. But apparently, it was enough and apparently, my last scepter skills and burning condition, as well as my downed skills killed her and got me the Light Up the Darkness achievement.

I don’t know what to say, I’m so surprised it worked. I can’t think. I…. uh… omg…

I killed Liadri with my Mesmer alt yesterday for the first time and then tried the Light Up achievement with my guardian… I’m finished now…. wow…

Yeah the fight is challenging and annoying at the same time.

I noticed this a while ago, while the armor fits perfectly on human and norn male characters, it doesn’t fit the silvari at all.

Let me get that into detail: every piece of armor seems to fit, except for the leg pieces.
The “belt or skirt” thing always stands out, it’s too big for the waist of the sylvaris.

You can see this on some armor skins like the new from braham, the kodan set or others. Other armorsets like the one from the vigil or the syvlari race armor just fits fine.

It’s not game breaking, but it really does bug me when I see it fits perfectly on humans, but not on my sylvari.

I haven’t read all of it (too long to read it at work), but I just thought about dungeon tokens and bank slots… since you can not deposit them as collectibles (although you get the context menue, but it’s not active), they take up a lot of space – thanks to the limit of 250.

I’d rather like to see them in the collections tab – or, even better – give them an extra tab within the bank, like, let’s say “currencies”. There shouldn’t be a limit of 250 then, more like open end, since you need more than 250 to buy items with them.

I do somehow understand, that they are limited to 250 per stack: to get players to buy the bank expansions. But now that there are so many items, skins and other things you’d like to deposit in the bank, I think that argument doesn’t count anymore…

I’d rather like to see the dungeons from Flame & Frost and the new dungeon from Southsun Cove reworked as fractals, since the fractals can show the past, the present and the future (like we’ve seen Ascalon).

But the idea itself is not bad.

Very mature, indeed, very mature. It’s a reasonable point wanting rewards if you were disconnected just before the ending of the event. But this thread is not about not being able to loot the chest. There are other threads about that.

No, the ore is, like the chest for the event was, character bound. You can harvest it as many times as you have different characters, but not more than once with a single char.

Yes, yes it was a ONE time event. That doesn’t mean that you were supposed to do it more then once, it just means: The event will happen only one time per server, it will never be repeated. That’s whats this one time thing is all about.

The overflow-servers count as normal servers and thus you were able to complete the event multiple times while the event lasts (phase 3 day, that is) as long as you go to a different overflow. In fact, I attended more than 5 different events due to disconnects and each time I logged back in, I was on a different overflow.
