I’m not sure on the cannon cap, but I don’t think that was the problem. There were maybe 30 total pieces of siege on the BL and it was random in the order of the siege that poofed.

I will test the cannon cap theory tomorrow.

Every piece of siege belonged to me. No chests. Very odd.

Oh hey, if you are the PUGS that were on CDBL today, we had fun fighting you.

Today I noticed random pieces of siege disappearing from CD BL. Inner lords, outter walls, behind gates…random places in random keeps and towers. The siege timers were not expired and the siege was not taken out by enemies.

This issue started after beta cannons were implemented. Has anyone else had this problem?

The really good scouts are the ones that are active, repairing, building and refreshing siege in structures, popping upgrades(well old days anyways), hunting down roamers, retaking camps, checking every sword that comes up and communication properly with their team. Maybe these days it really doesn’t matter because of the watchtower upgrade, and emergency waypoints, and frankly a whole lot less players giving a kitten.

Scouting might not be fun for you but it is to some people, different strokes for different folks. Props to the scouts who put in the work for their fun, and help make the game more fun for others.

This. I’m a scout, always have been and always will be. The key is that I’m constantly on the move doing the things listed above. Scouting definitely makes a difference, at least on Sorrow’s Furnace.

On that note I’d like to recognize Zoil The Deviceful on SF. He’s an excellent scout!

WvW ranks are totally meaningless, he who karma trains the most has the highest rank.

I once met a guy over 1000 rank and he still ran a 5 signet warrior in WvW.

Basically it’d be pointless screen clutter for me.

3. Learn the best spots to place siege to counter the AoE issue. Catapults and ballistas work wonders against AoE when placed correctly.

The problem with using catapults inside the tower is that you are using them the wrong way. Catapults are meant to be used as offensive siege. When you place a catapult inside a tower you have very little room to shot the catapult. If you put the catapult on top of a tower’s wall you will miss all your targets or your catapult will get destroyed by AOE.

I am going to say that 95% of the arrow carts placed on towers and keeps can be destroyed by AOE. The rest 5% can be placed on a good location BUT with extremely low field of view. Most of the enemies are not visible from those locations.

You need to think more creatively. All siege in this game can be defensive. LEXS has spent countless hours testing and experimenting with siege and I promise you that catas indeed make for good defense when placed properly.

Not trying to argue but rather enlighten and encourage.

If you want to play wvw then go to wvw. Don’t take EotM so seriously.

I’d rather have people leveling and karma training in EotM than taking up a queue spot in wvw.

I am loyal only to my happiness. Why stay on a server if it is not fun? This is just a game after all.

Yes, I have had this happen many times. At first I thought I had just missed something, but I’ve even had freshly placed siege disappear within 15 minutes.

It seems to happen most in Garrison Lords and Hills.

I would have agreed with this last year, but now…

Let me phrase it this way: if/when Half Life 3 arrives, I have no doubt it will be an incredible experience. Be it graphics, shootin’ fights, another story twist, there will be a handful of ‘Wow!!!’, there will be a future in the mod scene, there will be replayability. If Actiblizzion drop another expac, it will have new lands to explore, new classes, new mounts, new bells and whistles (none of which will make me subscribe again, but I digress).

I have no confidence in Anet to deliver anything of this grade. I fully expect to see a hyped up WvW Feature Pack announced 4 months in advance of its implementation, where they slowly reveal over those 4 months:

Feature #1: No more getting stuck in waypoints! (players still report getting stuck in waypoints)
Feature #2: Commander tags now come in different colors! (each color costs 400g)
Feature #3: Dreaming Bay removed.
Feature #4: Season 3 announced!

I’d be ok with #3. Just saying. Replace it with Quaggan village. Coo, you have nice teeth!

I remember when the siege timer was 30 minutes…

I run a refresh circuit every 45 minutes. Not only do I refresh siege, but I use that circuit to scout. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve thwarted an attack just by doing my rounds.

I kind of like the idea of superior/guild siege having a longer decay timer.

Titles mean nothing and don’t reflect true player skill so don’t get too hung up on them. I’m personally happy EotM exists. It keeps the karma trains more or less out of wvw.

Those that want to wvw will continue to do so, and those that want a break or just want to k train will go to EotM. I’ve never been upset someone can run in EotM and get more wxp than I get in wvw. I just prefer wvw. Now, back to killing people.

DR/SBI/not sure where he is now… Alkmst. I’d follow him off a cliff or through an enemy zerg any day. Miss you Alk!

HoD didn’t ask for the transfers. On day one of the first matchup I honestly did not think we would do well.

Now here we are doing well. Our new guilds are fitting in nicely and I personally hope they stick around because I like the people. Win or lose. I’ve been on other servers and on both sides of the “stack”. I love HoD because there is little drama and we work together. When we lose we don’t whine.

The one thing I can say for IoJ is that your forum warriors sure do love to cry. That’s one thing that’s never changed. No one cares so suck it up and move on.

This would be awesome. So annoying to have keeps claimed with no buffs.

Seriously, only BP,CD, and FA still have a pulse in Silver; and only FA can make you sweat at all.
