Loved the game when it came out. Sent a buddy the free invite during the lost shores event and after that experience—won’t buy.
Personally, the game has changed so much for me from when it was released, I am developing a love hate realtionship—-still love the game but the changes that Anet is making to the game, in the long run, is destroying the love.
Got the odd one from completing something (can’t remember if was an event, daily or something else) but no drops. Got a couple when I open the chest as well.
As with dyes and the majority of loot, boss chests etc.—-they seem to have nerfed it all. Anything really good or useful to the profession being played seems to be far and few between.
Oh well, disappointed that I didn’t get one. I guess all players weren’t treated equally, probably not on purpose , just another miss by whoever was looking at the player database to award the goodies.
Watch out people, they will only reduce the drop rates again if you talk about dyes.
My 1st character (on release) has more dye than any of my other toons that I have created including the some of the harder to get ones. Since the weekend shores event drop rates for dyes (and for anything useful for that matter) have been reduced significantly (no data—just comparing my inventory from pre-event characters). Grinding for just about everything is the new norm I guess.
The ideas for using approximations to achieve virtually the same effect are great suggestions.
I’ve got my new character up to lvl 66 and I have just started the over lvl 25 maps. You don’t change personal story when you go to other areas, it is tied your character. If you want a different storyline—then you will have to create a new character with a different race. Basically I take my character through all the lvl 1-15, then all the 15-25 etc. and complete them 100% Crafting helps alot!!! Completing the dailys’ is also an help.
Leveling up is quick and easy in this game. Level up 1st and put the story line on hold then go back to play them later. It’s not like you will playing a lvl60 character in a lvl 5 storyline.—-The game lvls you down to the story’s lvl.
Ditto-nothing at all has come my way.
But ,in all fairness, I did quit playing the event early because it was implemented so poorly and bugged as has been covered and pointed out in so many other threads. So maybe there was some cut off point for those that “qualify”.
Yep—groups are smaller, in less conspicuous areas and even wearing clothes (like the little cave in northern gendarran fields), but they have never completely left.
Even got another gold seller ingame e-mail the other night.
Have run into a few of the disappearing ore gatherers lately alos .
But you can by your professions training manuals as you progress in lvls. Each time you use on, it resets all your points to distribute as you see fit.

With all the riduculous amount of enemies(actually stupid amounts) placed in some areas, I use ranged to draw them to me one or two at a time and switch to my main to finish them off. I do this until their numbers are reduced to a resonable amount to handle with my main. So I use them situationally, got to be quick though because the quick respawn rates in some areas(another bad development choice) kick in.
When I got the e-mail I fully expected to get the 5 key pack at 50% off. It did not mention this new/invented 25 key purchase. Really don’t care about the math, when Anet invented the new 25 key purchase ( I am just short of the required amount) my gems stay in my pocket. Just a ripoff imho.

I lucked out and got the permanent bank express from a chest, I can use it anywhere,anytime and forever. I would love to get the permanent trader express!

Actually I’ve had it for a few weeks. My Ranger got it, and since it was account bound, I put in the bank and now my 30 guardian is using it. My buddy who started the game before me hasn’t got one yet—they must be rare or Anet has made them even harder to get without telling us they nerfed the drops to make them even more rare. I got over 50 BL chests that I was going to buy some keys for, but the Black Friday new 25 key lvl that they invented instead of offering 50% off the keys packs that were already in the store. I decided not to buy keys ( just short of the gems needed) and would consider the 50% 25 key package a complete rip off. If I could of bought a few of the 5 key packs at 5o% off I would have.

You can get “Black Lion Trader Express”, “Black Lion Merchant Express” and “Bank Access Express” on the Trade Post. You buy them with gems and there price are 35-50 gems for one. With various discount offers.
Now they are not personal as you ask for, but apart from being accessible by all, then they do them same thing.

Have to agree with the OP. There have been many threads regarding this and, quite bluntley, ignored. It was a poor design decision and rather than changing it or acknowledging their mistake, they just ignore players. Not only those trolling but those with legitmate concerns as well as constructive criticism and suggestions.
I would suggest that they separate them so that you get rewarded for 100% completion for PvP, 100% completion for WvW,PvP. You do both- even more rewards. If you chose to one or the other, both, or none, it’s the players choice. Being forced to play WvW a by questionable game design is wrong. Ditto for the personal story. Play the whole line solo, then you are forced to have a group if you want to complete it. complete it,
Next you probably shouldn’t be opening a tread for something that ANet took all the threads related to and merged them together, your not going to answer quicker this way. Just relax.

I got a few thousand gems-(kids bought me a gem card)-but nothing there that I see that I want to spend them on. I converted some to gold to use in the TP. After reading about the mediocre contents- I won’t but the black lion keys either. Most of the stuff seems like window dressing and cosmetic or is restictricted (limited use as well as limited usage). Let me buy a 50 slot backpack or the a permanent trading and bank access. etc.
Other MMOs have useful stuff that you can buy and use in the game.
Put my lvl 80 ranger on hold until the team actually fixes the class. Like you I had a warrior and by lvl 20 I just didn’t like how he was shaping up.
Started up a Guardian—-now this guy I like. Check out the guardian area and some of builds that have been shared. This guy hands out damage,takes damage, some healing among other things. He’s leveling up fine and handling most things thrown at him in pve except when anet’s poor scaling gives them enemies extra stength, but that happens with every class.
Has anybody come across this and remember the area it drops? You can use to access your bank and storage anywhere,anytime and never runs out. I have had the single use ones. It even looks the same as the one access icon. You can’t buy one with gems at BT either.
This is an awesome drop—but it must be extremely rare.

I had a 2nd toon that was a lvl 20 warrior—have usually been a warrior in other games—but this one I just couldn’t like—maybe I was building it wrong.
So I made a Norn Guardian —-loving it, survive a lot longer than my warrior and hands out more damage. LvL 24 now and growing!!
Oh well, turned off the game for the night—not worth the aggravation waitng for Canach. I beleive he is the last event in this chain. Will check in the morning—but if not fixed, I’ll just go back to reg play and skip the event.
And I agree, post here 1st, then social media. I rarely us facebook but went and checked and they had acknowleged the bugs but no eta.
I don’t want to start a flame war or anything, but maybe it’s not the ranger they don’t want. Maybe it’s you the player.

There have been a few threads with others having the same issue—some groups do not want Rangers because some consider the ranger a hinderence rather than a help and all the other classes are more valuable to the group as whole.
I would think that just about every single owner (at least 99% anyway)of the game is trying to update all at the same time as well as the play with a friend free trial. Something that anybody in IT with a just a bit of foresight could anticipate. Everything is slow including thr forums.
Suggestion to Anet—plan and prepare for such a major deployment before the hit.
At 50% after a 10minute wait. Perhaps a waiting to access queque due to demand message would more appropriate instead of connection error, retrying.
I really don’t understand how infractions work or how they are dealt with. I received an infraction and a forum ban for, honest—not a lie—explaining how to take a screen shot.
No e-mail explaining the infraction and length of the suspension (that they said was forth coming). I did send an e-mail with all the info and my account was restored in less than 24hrs, so I guess they read it and sided with me, but again no contact from the powers that be (unless their is a less than 24 hr suspension) But it does make me wonder exactly how these infractions occur and why.
I’ve seen another thread that where the poster said he wasn’t going to post anymore because of how infractions are given.
Just put my 80 Ranger away. The last draw was when I was 2 feet above an enemy and ‘invunerable, invunerable, invunerable’ came up just because the game felt I was in place where the krait couldn’t get to—no reason he couldn’t get to me, could have walked up the same ramp I used—just poor AI on the programming side.
I’ll try him again and if (that’s a big IF) the 15th really really fixes up the ranger and pets. Just hoping that the 15th of Nov doesn’t become known as Nerf day.
BTW—-no reason at all that the changes can’t be posted now for the community to review—it’s not likely to change between today and tomorrow.
I was at the same spot as the OP and felt the same—-a couple of feet away but above—and can’t hit. It was at that point that I finally put my lvl 80 ranger away and rerolled. (Likely the same issue when arise with my guardian’s ranged weapons though)The thing that really got me thinking about this mess was when I was walking by a cliff and enemy archers had no problem raining their death on me. The only thing I could think of was if the positions were exchanged, the ‘invunerable’ would be lighting up the screen.
That being said they haven’t addressed the issue when they go invunerable for absolutely no reason in wide open, direct battle areas, especially underwater.
I suggested a ‘mark all read’ (both for topics as well as total forum) quite some time a go, but never heard anything more about it.

Thanks for the info—No interest in PvP at all—and being forced to play a way that one doesn’t care too has been covered in many threads. It still doesn’t make me less disappointed (not angry, just disappointed in the poor implementation of this feature, imho). Maybe ‘legit’ PvP players will start to put some pressure on the devs to change this requirement as more and more PvE join just to attempt to complete this goal and have a negative impact on the PvPs ability to join. As you said PvPs will have to “deal with it”

Getting ready to reroll (current is Sylvari Ranger 80 and Human Warrior 25). Like my ranger alot, but the warrior—just not liking it. My question is about race and if one of them is better suited to being a guardian? I was thinking of Charr or Norn—but that was mainly to get a different starting and personal story line.
