While super lame (happened against the french from Arbrostone too), i don´t think that Anet can do something about it, what should they do, ban a customer who bought the game?

I know Augury Rock had a spy on my server (Desolation) a couple of days ago, so it could be they infiltrated Arborstone too.

I haven’t heard anything about Deso sending spies anywhere, but then I guess they’d keep hushhush about that anyway, so if it was us, I feel pretty bad. It just feels so cheap to do that.

I know perception is skewed but it definitely has happened to me at least two times that I was aware of, in both instances Arborstone attacked us, broke through our keep into our keep room and then retreated before taking it allowing AR in to take the keep.

I know those two events happened because I was THERE. I don’t know if that was some brief alliance or just a major coincidence and maybe they were having a massive fight outside the keep gates, I don’t know, but one minute we were fighting arbor and the next it was Augury Rock.

SAYING that. AS deserves their victory. Even with their hilariously efficient zerg running around (when you get to watch that from a safe spot it really is fun to see 30-50 frenchies all running one direction then half a minute later all returning the way they came in unison) they were very efficient and knew how to use their zerg.

Not that great in 1v1’s from my experience though, they just work well as a group.

I think the problem is the keep with the moat Dreaming Bay (I forget it’s other names) is often to EASY to take, which makes AH look super hard by comparison.

:) We’re just a small guild but we play a lot of Wuvwuv at the moment as well as dabbling in sPvP (which, by the way, is amazing fun as a guild. Due to the fact it randomly places you on teams it can lead to bragging rights when you kill a guildie)

You’re not meant to spec into full support though, they don’t really want you doing that. They want everyone to be able to do a little bit of everything, and if you’re full support you’re not doing your little bit of DPS.

That is a snide and disrespectful response. You have no idea what class I am nor what server I am on nor who we battle against.. Glad you have so much gold. How much did you buy from the farmers?

Anyway two things.

1. Your comment doesn’t even make any sense, it’s not actually that hard to make 37 gold with just a little bit of effort

and

2. It’s only been a month, man! While things definitely aren’t equal yet I’d be willing to bet a lot of money that things will stabilise over time. Just be patient. I know some of the matches right now are completely out of whack, but it’s not going to be ruined for ever, just wait it out.

Oh, and as an after thought, WvW isn’t even that much of a gold sink. If you’re playing it correctly you should be making money, not losing it. Even on my bad days I come out with 10s more than I entered with, and that’s only after a couple of hours, on a bad day, against a server that wins slightly during the day and then dominates at night.

There are definitely things that could be improved with WvW, but the matchups are something you’ll just have to wait out.

well do you know you can rebuild everytime out of combat right?
as a Thief usually I don’t run only 1 build in WvW, the thief can accomplish some roles in WvW but not all of them at the same time, so if I feel I need some more aoe long range damage I respec my thief, if I need to be a god 1v1 I respect quickly and so on..
I don’t think every other class can cover every role at any time

AFAIK Every class has some ability to perform any role at any given time, that’s sort of what A-net has been shooting for this entire time.

I think sometimes we forget that the game has only been out a month. We really should give it more time to stabilize, as Thordred says I’m sure things will equalize eventually.

Having said that, I had no idea some of the other matches other than my Deso one were even more one sided. Crazy.

While it may be “fun” for some people to be 15 vs 1 in the middle of the night, it’s not everyones idea of fun.

It’s a simple fact that during the day and evening Desolation easily defends our own stuff, we keep everything in our third of the map and we quite regularly venture up and take a castle or two up north too.

It’s also a simple fact that after midnight Arborstone begin to outnumber Deso by a significant amount. Now maybe I was hasty in jumping to the French Canadian conclusion (although I still think I’m right. There’s just to many players on that early in the morning NOT to be from a different time zone) and maybe it’s purely Desolation players get frustrated at their numerical disadvantage and leaving, rather than Arbor gaining any numbers (although it’s a stretch to believe).

However it happens, after about Midnight Arborstone start taking everything on the map and by 2am last night the pie chart was 95% Red (Arborstones colour, obviously).

I’m torn here though, because this could swing one of two ways for me.

1. If it genuinely IS just a hardcore ton of French European players staying up through the night to get Arborstone some points, that’s fair enough in my book. If you’re willing to put in the time and effort to do that for your team, good on you.

2. However, if it IS because they have a second prime time of Canadians (which I think people are almost TO quick to dismiss) then that’s pushing the boundaries of fairness. Their primetime is ALWAYS going to be when Desolation (or any other UK or mainland EU) server is asleep (there’s only a couple of hours difference between UK and mainland Europe at most). This means they will ALWAYS win those WvW weeks.

If it genuinely isn’t French Canadians helping the EU french servers then fine, but to my eyes all the evidence points to players from another time zone playing throughout the night, and that’s off putting for a lot of members.

It’s the reason Desolation never has any queues now. Watch, next week when we get paired against two other teams we’ll see the queues form back up.

I have enjoyed WvW this week until about 11.30pm UK time and then I just go do something else because that’s when the big french zergest rolls around.

I was just tabbed out sat at the TP in LA and I tabbed back in to check up on the scores and surprise surprise Arborstone own like 95% of the pie chart at the minute.

Hopefully the rest of the week should stabilize because with it being a weekend Arbor have had the added advantage of having the Canadians on a lot more than they can get on during the week.

Judging by all the French servers I’ve seen with large night capping zergs (Arborstone is the newest one I’ve seen, even out zerging another french server) why not just give the french canadians a French NA server. There’s clearly enough of them to use it.

This message will act as a bump and as a fairly important announcement.

Me and SavageCore (the other leader) have decided that, for a while anyway, our main aim is going to be Wuvwuv.

The reason for this is twofold.
1. Our server needs all the organisation it can get and another co-ordinated group of players can do nothing but good things for the server
2. Me and SavageCore (the other leader) may not be pro at Wuvwuv but we try our hardest and have picked up on tactics fairly quickly. We have a lot of fun.

So, if anyone wants to smaller guild looking to make itself useful in Wuvwuv, get in touch.

Oh, and as an aside, this doesn’t mean we’re moving entirely away from our PvE stuff. We still love PvE to pieces, we just are having a lot of fun in Wuvwuv and thought we could have even more with more than two of us active in it.

Also, if we got players who are even better than us at Wuvwuv (lets face it, we’re not great) then we can learn some things as we go, even better!

I’m in a small guild atm but I have been playing Wuvwuv for a couple of weeks now and am definitely going to be rounding up a few guild mates to provide another small guild team to help where ever we are needed.

You can’t really reserve a slot when there’s a queue formed though can you. If you leave, someone else gets the notification that a spot opened up.

And you might just need to transfer server. I’m also on desolation and recently I’ve had to wait no more than an hour at peak times and in the evenings I can pretty much waltz in whenever I want.

Im on Deso and i never was impressed by VS organisation during prime time but the tactics i just witness from Arborstone(FR) are far superior to anything ive seen before and i spend most of my time playing on FS, Seafarer’s Rest and last weekend in the top tier NA battle on ET. Im pretty sure from next week the #1 and #2 in Europe will be french servers so ye they deserve some credit

Yeah, I’m on Deso and I’ve got to hand it to Arborstone; while they’ve still got the same mentality as the other servers (from what I can see anyway), their organisation is superb and they’ve already pulled a few pretty nifty tricks to outflank people.

Newly formed EU guild Brothers of Aesir are looking for members!

We’re just a small guild based out of the UK that started off as of four real life 20 something year old friends. We’ve currently gained a few other like minded individuals to bring our total up to 11 players, including a Norwegian, a Pole and an Estonian lady.

The original four of us started as mainly PvE based, although both myself and SavageCore have started delving into WvW more and more in recent days.

We are currently in the process of creating flexible schedules for our weekly ventures, that will include such things as WvW, Dungeon Runs, playing with Jumping Puzzles etc. We are also very eager to help when someone asks.

We are looking for members over the age of 18 who enjoy banter, tom-foolery and general shenanigans. We are looking for people who enjoy playing the game at a more casual pace, rather than powering through it, who enjoy finding everything hidden in every nook and cranny and generally having a good time with some good banter.

Because, as I mentioned previously, we are four real life friends we already know that our personalities all mesh and allow us to have a super enjoyable gaming experience. To make sure that prospective members also mesh with us there will be a trial period of one week, in which we will meticulously scrutinise your every word and move to discover whether you are cool enough to roll with us. If you are under 18 but really think we sound like some super cool dudes (which would be a correct assumption) you can have a trial period of 2 weeks to see if you’re mature enough to come have fun with us.

While we’ll happily consider members from any time zone, one as near to our UK time as possible would probably be best.

There are a couple of rules that we would like you to make note of. They are as follows:

We want to create a tight knit bunch of guildies who are there for each other and may well form friendships outside of the game. To help this there will be a no tolerance policy when it comes to personal attacks or anything that we, the founders and/or officers, consider bullying. Please note that this is totally different from poking light-hearted fun at each other.

When representing the Brothers of Aesir you must represent yourself and the guild in a positive light in other chats and around other players. While we like to have fun we’re also respectful of and towards the rest of the Guild Wars 2 faithful; and as such if we see or hear anything that reflects badly on our reputation as a guild we will more than likely cut ties with you.

No party poopers. Seriously; we’re all about having fun and if you’re not able to have a laugh then this probably isn’t the guild for you.

So, to wrap this all up I will say that if you’re looking for a fun, friendly atmosphere in which you can enjoy the world of Tyria at your own pace with a bunch of witty (and handsome) young men, we will welcome you into our warm bosom with open arms.
