Hello!

Yes, you can do every event of the Living Story that came out to this point, but hurry up, becouse it will be over in 2 weeks!

As for the dungeon:
When you enter, you will be auto-leveled up to 80, but your gear will stay the same, so you have a disadvantage compared to ‘real’ lv80s.
I recommend leveling up a bit (like to 30), then searching for a nice group of players.

In my groups I already had an lv34, and lv52, and we did the dungeon with no problems (few deaths included of course).

Altough I find it highly unlikely that this will ever happen, it is a good suggestion.

It may be just me, or I am reading the wrong forums, but they are in 80% whinefests. About everything.

I just get mad reading some of them, with threats like “If you don’t do as I will Anet, I will quit the game and take all my friends with me!”. Really guys, really?…

As the others mentioned above me.

You can find your backslot where you can equip rings, accessories and stuff.
Back items are available from lv 33 and so on, you will have to level up a bit more, to use the skin an a back slot item:)

Also: Back slot items can sometimes be obtained from Holiday events too. Maybe the next installment of the Flame and Frost living story will award you with one.

Isn’t that the craziest, most frustrating thing? That happens to me ALL THE TIME. I think last time I played Super Ghouls ’n Ghosts I breezed through the water level my first try, but died on the boss. Then took about 20 more lives just to get back to him again.

Huh… I tought I was the only one returning to that game to punish myself time and time again…

That is one hard, unforgiving, frustrating game. Yet it still gives a sense of great achievment if anyone manages to complete it.

Help me re-cap on what Ive missed here.

What?…

Is this really a problem? You were away from the game, and updates happened?

The current event is spanning for 4 months. You can do every aspect of it until the very last day of May I believe. So that’s basicly 5 months not 4.
If you cared anything about the game, and it’s content, you could have tarcked it on:
- The website
- On facebook
- In e-mail notifications

All this, plus what Frotee said above me.

What you are asking here for OP is:

“Please make the living story content less living!”

It is SUPPOSED to interfere with the daily routine. It is SUPPOSED to be harder then normal content. It’s the freaking dredge and flame legion technology and magic combined. These things make the world more dynamic. I for one actually like events, that don’t play out the same way every time.

Side note: I have an alt, an lv18 Engieneer. You know what I did when I encountered events that were too hard for me on Wayfarer Foothills? Asked for help…

Lyssa event bugged at Song of Lyss POI

Hi!

I noticed this bug occuring more and more on my server, and I think I figured out what causes it, so I’ll try describing it. Note: currently not bugged on my server (Whiteside Ridge – EU).

Description:
At the Song of Lyss POI the NPCs don’t react to anything, and won’t start fixing the cannon. They are alive, all 3 of them, but you can’t use ‘F’ to talk to them, the repair progress is stuck, and mobs dont attack them. They don’t take damage from mobs AoE skills eihter, so there is no way to get them killed, and restart the event. Therefore the event is stuck, and cannot be completed.

Cause:
Unknown

My personal toughts on the cause:
The events here require to be done, then defended. When you dont defend them, the event has to be redone. BUT! There is a time between when the ‘defense’ event switches to a ‘take over’ – so a sort of blank time when the event is ‘neutral’. If the Lyssa main event starts, when these other side events are in this certain ‘neutral’ status, the main event let’s you continue killing off Lyssa priestess despite that the side events have been contested, and are taken over now by the Risen (note: normal function would be, you have to redo the events until all 3 are done, only then can you attack Lyssa priestess).
So, the event at Song of Lyss POI is contested now, but the Lyssa priestess is being killed.
When the Priestess dies, the NPCs at SOng of Lyss are revived automaticly, but the point is still contested. So there are now Risen there, and the NPCs, wich shouldnt happen at the same time. I’m guessing this duality is what causes, that at the next time Lyssa temple is available, the NPCs are still living there peacefully, not harming each other.

Final important note: this is only my theory, but I see it very likely that thsi is what causes the event to ‘bug out’.

Dwayna event chain stuck

First of all, this bug is not happening currently on my server, it’s just a bug I have encountered before, and I know what causes it, so I just wanted to report it. So, here goes:

Description:
Dwayna event doesn’t go on after the Risen priestess of Dwayna has been defeated. Historian Vermoth does not walk up to the altar – he has vanished, and cannot be found. The event reads: The seal on the altar must be broken.

Cause:
When fighting the Risen priestess sometimes mobs get lured to Historian Vermoth key NPC. He does take damage, but his health cannot go under 1, so, he never dies. He always has between like 1 and 100 healht, and the mobs keep harassing him.
When the Risen priestess dies NPC Vermoth DOES become vulnerable, and his HP CAN go under 1, wich means he dies.
He can be killed in 2 ways: the mobs despawn just a bit later then the Priestess’ death, so they have some ‘free hits’ on him. Or he can be killed with remaining conditions, such as poison.
So the NPC dies, and cannot investigate at the altar, therefore Malchor doesn’t appear and the event gets stuck at this point.

I hope this helps to solve this problem, as it usually happens 1-2 times a month on my server (Whiteside Ridge – EU), and probably on others too.

Hi!

Some patches ago the mesmers Vortex skill (spear skill #5) also gives a combo field: etheral.

This field for some reason does not work however with the mesmers combo finisher Feigned surge skill (spear skill #2).

It displays in the little heart that pops up that I got Chaos Armor (the combo effect), but in reality, I do not get it. It is neither displayed at the boons (nor the spell itself, nor the actual boons I would get from it), nor is it working at all without display (if I get hit, I don’t get boons, and the enemy doesn’t get conditions).

The combo field seems to be working with other characters. I have tried it out with a friend (thief), who shot trough the Vortex with his skills, and confusion was properly applied.

So it is either not working only on yourself, or with any underwater “leap” type of finishers.

I think it must be becouse chaos armor is not intended for underwater use, or something like that. Anyway, check it out, if you got some the time.

Mesmer Temporal curtain not stacking

Hi!

The topic almost says it all. The Mesmer spell – Temporal curtain (Focus offhand, skill #4) does not stack (in duration, or in any other way) with any other swiftnesses.

I can see how this could be intentional, so you cant walk trough your own spell multiple times to gain a lot of swiftness. but it is still a bit annoying when you are trying to run in a group as fast as you can (like in WvW commando raids), and your spell just goes to waste.

If it is intended – so be it. If it is a bug, I would love to see a fix.

I don’t think that low exchange rate as I said in the example would ruin the whole economy of the game, plus would destroy Anet. As you said, it can be currently traded in for rares, that can be salvaged – thus probably giving more in-game money then I implied in my example. This would only be a matter on convinience. If you can exchange it anyway (sort of), why not just have an easier way to do so?

I also don’t see why this would interfere with people wanting to run around in full dungeon gear (I do so myself). It’s not like you would HAVE TO sell your tokens. It just would be a convinient way to deal with them.

By the way, you do know, that company profit, and ‘game-health’ go hand-in-hand in this kind of game, right? It’s not like they sold you their copy, and they don’t give a kitten afterwards.

All this still doesn’t solve the FotM tokens issue. I still would not like to destroy them.

Puzzles!

I agree with this, it would be nice to have a few of these.
Altough it can’t be too complex becouse of the MMOness of the game. Like the halloween and consortium ‘puzzles’, where you had to figure out where to go from clue to clue – peple will just look these up oin the internetz. But some less complex could work I guess.

And: there is a chest on the end of the Hylek puzzle (if you are talking about the one in Caledon forest).
SPOILER:
You have to defeat the champion for it however. Takes about three lv 80 guys, becouse of the respawn rates. Also gives an achievment if you get the chest.

Why not the others too? It would be just an option for you to spend your tokens as you want. As you can see in the examples these are not too great rewards, just something you can do with them, if you dont want to hpard dungeon exotics (and why would you?).

Hi!

I like Fractals of the mists. It’s fun, and challaneging. Currently I am on level 32 in FotM, and have tons of tokens. I already got my Beta infused capacitor, my infused rings and everything else. I have plenty of skillpoints too, and I’m not really interested in crafting legendaries, so I don’t really need obsidian shards (and if I did, I can get them easily from my 750,000 karma).

As the conclusion: i have tons of Fractal relics lying around, and I can’t do anything with them.

SUGGESTION:

It would be nice if these tokens could be sold directly to a vendor or be exchanged for ‘Bag of coins’ or even ‘Large bag of coins’ at the corresponding salesman.

This would not only apply to FotM ofcourse, but to all Dungeons. I can even imagine that the more difficult the dungeon is, the more the token costs – this would give more reason to do dungeons like Arah.
Eg.: An Ascalonian Catacombs token could be sold for 3 coppers each, while an Arah token would be 10 copper or so (so an AC run would get you about 2 silvers and 10 coppers plus an Arah run would get you 7 silvers bonus).

OR

You could exchange every 60-70 AC token for a ‘Bag of coins’, 30-40 for Arah tokens, 50-60 for FotM tokens.

Alltogether this would give people a bit more motivation to do dungeons alltogether, and would give a nice new way to spend tokens. At least my heart hurts when i have to destroy 250 FotM tokens:(

Multiple FotM bugs

Hello!

Here are a few bugs with FotM, that need some fixing, not major issues, but are annoying nevertheless.

1. Hammer and statue Fractal bug – Hammer disappears after character falls of the cliff with it.
- We have seen the hammer floating around in mid air 200 feet below us (could only see it if we fell), hammer should respawn somewhere if it is out of reach.

2. Dredge fractal bug – Mesmer teleports into wall.
- In the bossfight with the dredge boss (Raklochev, Ralchev, Rasputinchev? – something like that) I often find my self using ‘Phase retreat’ as a mesmer (2 handed staff 2nd skill) and get stuck in the wall near the entrance door. Usually ends in a party wipe and respawn afte that. (Note: I can get out using mesmer ‘Blink’ – if it is equipped, but since I can’t change skills in combat…)

Swimming, underwater fractal bug – Krait in walls, can’t open cages
- Occurs at the start, where you have to rescue villagers from cages. The enemies get stuck somehow in the walls/rocks and are unreachable, thus we cannot open the cages and are unable to finish the quest.

That are all that come to mind right now, if you got some time Anet, look into these things. Cheers!

FotM Matchmaking

Well about the first point… I don’t think it is gonna happen as FotM is supposed to be that big endurance mode dungeon. Wich means you have no armor repair, and no shop in between rounds. If someone could join in at any time, it would ruin that aspect. Altough I do admit, that it is annoying if someone crashes, or got DC-d becouse of internet connection issues.

Second point: Yes, a dungeon finder would be nice. In the meantime you can help others on lower levels to level up to you, so you can find parties on your level more frequently. At least I do that.

People were complaining, that there was no real endgame, and nothing to go for after hitting 80 and exotics. No superb items to grind for. Now it’s a problem, that you dont get max gear automatically? I ask again.

It would be really nice if the guilds in this game actually could build some kind of a Headquarter thing. For Influence. You could actually modify this thing, add rooms, or courtyards – even have special Guild events in it sometimes (that could also spawn for influence, or just randomly – like it being under attack/on fire or something).
There would be several base models for these HQs. , and several paths to having them modified. This would also benefit player communication, becouse everyone would want a nice looking “home”.
And no, I’m not thinking going Sims style, just a little something, that would make guilds more like a family of some sorts.

Voicepacks, mounts, golem names

Hi!

I got a few suggestion that might make the game even more fun and a more unique experience for players – wich is important I think. So in order of importence these are:

1. Unique voicepacks

This would be a great add to the game, and make your character unique amongst others. I think it should be available via the Gem store (I would gladly pay for this
!), or it could be some kind of collectible thing (like the dyes), wich you can only use, when the full pack is completed. And i don’t mean there should be lots… Just like 3-3 for every gender and race.

2. Mounts

Mostly for WvW. Costumizable even. Would be great, I know it’s been mentioned several times – so I’m not gonna drag on.

3. Naming your golem!

My main character is an asura. I love my golems, I adore them. And I would love to name them, since SYN-7001 does not sound as cool as “Mr. Cuddly”. This would be awesome.
