What do you think about this (bunker) build?

in Mesmer

ButterOfDeath.2873

Today i tried to figure out the most tanky build for a Mesmer, and i ended up with this build: http://www.gw2build.com/builds/mesmer-bunker-build-by-iv2b-bunker-9292.html

It makes use of Restorative Mantras to keep yourself healthy: each mantra when casted will heal you for about 1/5-1/4 of max hp,and mantra of stability can be used to cast other mantras safely if needed.
Phantasmal defender could be swapped with other abilities.
Anyway: You’ll have an almost 100% uptime of regeneration, while a good uptime of protection, and the iDefender to reduce greatly the damage.
Your healing mantra will remove 2 conditions when used in total (1 each cast),while you can remove up to 4 conditions with mantra of resolve.

How to play:
start with the scepter+focus, use your confusion beam whenever possible and stay away from clones, while be as close as possible to phantasms, especially the iWarden.
This will give you permanent regeneration while inflicting conditions on your enemy.
If you need to interrupt a foe you can double tap your #4 ability,it can also be used to push someone outside of a capture point.
If you’re in trouble, switch to the staff: you’ll get endurance, more thoughness, and you’ll be able to cast chaos armor on yourself.

I’ve only tested this in the mists against the professions bots: i never reach under 50% hp even without using any phantasm! ( so no staff 3,iDefender,iWarden).

Preference: Malicious Sorcery can be swapped with Warden’s Feedback

If any capable mesmer feels cool with this build,i’d be very happy if a very little gameplay video could be made: unluckily i’m still a newbie with this profession and i’m not able to do it (whenever i get hurt i go in panic mode )

Most tanky build?

ButterOfDeath.2873

Today i’ve seen some bunker builds videos…and i’m wondering (regardless of profession) wich is the combo to get the most close to invincibility.

I’m thinking about a insert profession here with full thoughness/healing power/vitality gear, with permanent regeneration and a high uptime of protection.

Right now Engineer,Guardian,Mesmer,Necromancer and Ranger come to my mind:
They all can get a nice uptime of regeneration, most of them can have a nice amount of protection (and retaliation) too.

Engineer: An elixir build, focused on healing
Guardian: passive heals, aegis, passive burn…probably the most efficient class for this role
Mesmer: restorative mantras+harmonious mantras+mantra of recovery+mantra of resolve and mantra of concentration…then phantasmal defender and mass invisibility.
Seems pretty hard to take down to me!
Necromancer: consume conditions as healing skill, spectral armor for protection, spectral wall for more protection, any 3rd utility and elite.
When in trouble activate death shroud and heal again when the shroud is over…
Ranger: Troll unguent gives so much heal…

Anyway,what are your opinions?
Wich is the profession that can tank the most the best? Using wich build?
What i’d like is a build that lets me think “oh,you’re not a glass cannon, then i don’t even care”…i know there is no trinity,so to tanks, but is it possible to achieve something close to it?

Game feels incredibly anti-melee.

by what i read…Ranger looks to be the class you’d prefer: good at range, good at melee, has cc,easy PvE thanks to pet (bears tank so kitten well).
If you choose ranger: longbow/shortbow/axe+torch and sword+warhorn/greatsword will do fine.

My opinion, anyway,is to make a characters, finish the tutorial and go to the mist: you’ll be level 80 with everything unlocked while there,so you can try everything you wish to.

btw: Thieves rely on blindness and evades to escape, you have to be very, very fast to don’t die;while mesmers rely on getting attacked and getting clones attacked.
This means that both aren’t too easy in PvE,but fine (they are really good in pvp and WvW)

How to decide wich profession?

in Players Helping Players

Posted by: ButterOfDeath.2873

ButterOfDeath.2873

Still me,yeah…I made myself sure about the mesmer…but then i’m not that much sure anymore: there’s always a thing i like about a profession, but i don’t know wich one to prefer.
example: i like the ranger’s pet,i really like the thief’s stealth abilities,i like the ability to have clones,i like to have kits and turrets,i also like to have banners, while i also like to have my blood minions, while i also like to spam AoE boons…and so on.

So,i like every profession! But i don’t know wich one is my favourite!

So…what would you do in this kind of situation?

Also,to help me out a little…is there a profession that, built different ways, can counter any other effectively?
I don’t mean a single build to counter them all,i’m just asking if there is the possibility to play in a way that counters any other play style you’re going to meet.
Right now the only thing i can think about is an elixir engineer with runes of lyssa for condition removal…that should work very well on almost anything i guess…

My 2 cents about professions balance

Here you are my 2 cents for the next patch:
—————————————————————————————————————————————————————-
Mesmer: phantasms will stay alive for 5 seconds after you’ve killed the enemy instead of disappearing, and if another enemy will aggro you during this time the phantasms will not disappear

fix for the ibeserker

When out of combat, the signet of inspiration will grant Swiftness or Aegis.

Thief:
Blinding powder: each character can blind no more than 3 times using a finisher.
(this means that by using the ability once, you’ll be able to blind someone up to 3 times, but no more)

Engineer:
Fix for Flamethrower#1 so that it will be more reliable

Mmm…now i’ve doubts again: answer me this question and i’ll play that profession: Wich one would you prefer between mesmer and engineer?

I’m asking that because as a mesmer i refuse to use a shatter build,it just feels bad to me to shatter clones (unless it does the killing blow, then np).
Wich one do you think that adds more to a group? Wich one is better for solo levelling? Wich one is better PvP and WvW?

Also, having phantasms is so cool..but being able to have kits and turret is too…

I’ve also seen that my phantasms die really, really fast (yep still lvl 5,but their health scales,so the point should be the same…)…while i’d really like to make a phantasms build.

i just don’t really know xD

I delete them because i’m out of slots… x)

right now i have a 21 engineer (however i missclicked and now he’s named gaaa,facepalm) a lvl 14 guardian,a 17 thief,and a lvl 9 elementalist.

To be honest,i don’t see the elementalist that much hard: ok,i have to swap attunements, but what’s the hard thing other than that?
When i’ve tried it,i’ve had no issues combo’ing my abilities and attunements, the bigger issue is that i die in 3 hits, and the arcane shield has a 75 seconds cooldown :x

Anyway,i’ll check the mesmer guide video,i’ll be back soon.

I think the elementalists still falls under the category “dps-support” to me…i don’t see how it could be harder to kill than a guardian/warrior…but anyway: i didn’t leave there all my characters because the game became a little harder:IMO this game feels too easy early, and fine after level 20 (i levelled them all over 10,but not over 20,except one).

Just to know: can you explain me how the necro can have many ways to adapt? on paper i don’t see it,while i clearly do with the engi.
Also, isn’t the thief adaptable too? it can solo well by spamming blinds, and can play in a group by blinding enemies, stealthing allies and giving allies venom buffs using the trait,it just can’t tank.

Yeah,another thread asking: wich profession?

ButterOfDeath.2873

To try them…i’ve done that: the mists was useful for that, however i really have no idea who i want to play with up to level 80!

My mind is strange: it can easily find the best solution in any situation that has a right solution…but when a solution is equally good as any other i really get mad.
yeah,MAD…4(almost 5) months and i still have doubts, while if i ask around most people had no issues…at least like me!

A major issue…is that i want to change, and in my mind 80 levels is an infinite amount of time.Of course,i know it’s not,but it feels like so.
For example: i can enjoy playing a…let’s say…thief with a crit build for…let’s say…1 week, but then i’ll feel it old and i’ll want to change! If i can’t,i’ll lose interest very quickly, and i’ll have doubts again like “and what if i’ve chosen a different profession?”

So,i know them all are cool, the thief, the mesmer and the engineer fit my playstyle, but also do the ranger and the necro…however they’re very,VERY different each other, and that makes it a really hard decision for me.

Sometimes,i think i should just smash my head some times,so maybe i’ll then not have these kind of issues xD

ButterOfDeath.2873

I’m really going mad,i’ve deleted 26 kitten characters…and still don’t really know.
I tried them all in the mists, levelled them up to at least lvl 10…and STILL i don’t know!
I don’t really care about “balance” : there are people saying that X is overpowered and Y is underpowered, while someone else will say the opposite…so for me everything is well balanced.
Also,i’m planning to play PvE,then after lvl 80 dungeons and WvW,sometimes sPvP too,but that’s optional.

What i’m looking for,is a profession that can be played in a very nice amount of ways,if it’s challenging…better…but it must be rewarding for the difficulty (i’ve heard of some classes being much harder than others…then having the same reward)
If possible, levelling shouldn’t be a pain, and endgame capabilities should be fine.

Right now,i’m thinking about…a “few” professions (let’s say almost them all):
Thief: Venom build, crit build, condition build, pistols build, trapper build, stealth build…ok,it can be played in many ways. It has stealth,i like stealth, nice damage, can also support…but it’s the only class having “mana” (initiation in this case)…i hate mana…but can be fine.

Engineer: I only see complaints about this class, however kits allow it to be played in many ways,i like science…can support well, does fine in dungeons,in pvp and wvw too…a fine choose.

Ranger: Pets,i’ll never be forever alone! Spirits, they look cool,i’ve seen a few differents build for them…a fine choose too

Mesmers: That’s the class i wished to play while downloading the client and past that…however clones are just there to be shattered or stacking conditions using a trait…phantasms aren’t that much durable, and levelling the mesmer is really a pain! however it’s a beast on pvp…

Necros: pets! pets! PETS! no more alone! However they’ll do all the work…and in the late game/end game i’ll be focused anyway, because i’ll be a higher threat.
A nice thing is that infinite swiftness with the war horn,it’d be cool, and i like stacking conditions.

Guardian: cool,strong,shiny and boring,that’s just spin 2 win x.x

Elementalist: People complaining about this profession too: it seems dagger/dagger is the only way to play WvW and PvP…also it’s the squishiest profession x.x

Warrior: Banners are cool…but not very effective, and people could steal them on purpose :x
I dislike the fact it takes no true skill to play, just smash all the buttons and you’ll kill the enemy, unless using some builds like the sniper one.

So…i guess the decision is about Thief,Engineer,Ranger,Mesmer and Necromancer.
Wich one would you play with (not yourself,i mean to play with you) in a dungeon?
Wich has more play styles?
Wich one can level easier?
Wich one is the most rewarding?

I’d appreciate any comment, but please don’t flame and be civil: last time it turned out in a professions war x.x

you like everything? x)
Guardian: nice close range abilities, support, has a side of bagic, can use staff and scepter as ranged.
Mesmer: a magical warrior who uses deception as a weapon: long range abilities, very nice support abilities, can use sword for close range combat.
Engineer: not really “magic”,it’s all powered by science…but his kits can do all what you wish to
Thief: if you consider stealth on demand as magic, then theives are alot, nice ranged fight, very nice close range fight, can support by “gifting” venoms, stealth allies, blind enemies.
Ranger: can summon spirits, can support well by giving boons to allies, very nice ranged combat, very nice melee fighting abilities…also has a pet,no more alone!
Elementalist: can be played with dagger/dagger to give you what you wish for.
Necromancer: can use daggers to be close ranged, tons of conditions, pets, nice ranged abilities.

IMO guardian fits well, but it might be boring after a while…
Mesmer,Engineer,Thief will hardly be boring.

Hello, today while looking at the merchandise store,i’ve had a cool idea about clothing: bandanas.

I know bandanas have been given to the PAX event 2011-2012,however i really feel they would be great to be sold.

My idea,is to make a general GW2-like pattern as one option, then there would be one bandana for each race: in the middle of it,there should be a drawn head of the race, covering about 2/3 of the height.
That’d be cool because ff worn on the mouth, then the race’s face will be seen on yours, while if worn on the head, the race’s forehead will be seen!
And the general pattern is for wearing it in a different way.
If they’d make this,i’d buy it asap!

What do you think? Not many games’ merchandise include bandanas!
Also, they’d fit very well: by just going in pvp every character has a bandana on the mouth by default!

Also, how about a gw2 bracelet? or shirts? they’d be great too!

Ah, I forgot, that fire 2 is enemy targeted. Well, this only can be a relatively sure hit, if
a) somebody facetanks
b) enemy is immobilized
c) enemy targets you and you make sure to keep him more or less rooted (dodging through him and the like)

Then unluckily there’s no secret tip to make it land

Anyway,i think i’ll begin with a ranger.

As an answer to the last question:
“Know” the future. Where will your enemy be in two seconds? Whom is he following, how is that person moving. Calculate two seconds into the future and then place your attack accordingly.
I know, that this sounds difficult, but you’ll get a feeling for this simply by playing. You’ll probably won’t get a 100% hit rate with this, but it should be high enough after a short while to be a meaningful attack.

I mean…it’s not ground targeted!
It’d be easy (in PvE) to land it if it was ground targeted, instead it’s cast on the enemy x.x

ButterOfDeath.2873

Thank everybody for all the answers, just a bit thing…in the 1st question what i meant is wich class you’d like to play with you in a dungeon, regardless of your class, instead than your favourite class for dungeons

Anyway,i’ve seen mesmer and elementalist are the hardest ones to master, while the engineer has a high skillcap.
Warrior,Guardian and Ranger (also minion necro) have an easier time in PvE.
Thief and Warrior could have the highest dps possible.
Except than Necro and Ranger there’s no way to “capture” aggro.
PvP isn’t played by many
And,the look is important but mechanics are too.

Now,with that said,i think my FINAL choose, for my 1st character that i’ll level to 80,will either be Ranger or Guardian.
I like their look, they’ll make my PvE easier than other professions and i like their mechanics.

What i don’t truly like,is that except the Elementalist there is no dedicated caster in the game…i mean…almost every class is about spamming your 1 ability while using others, while a caster should mainly use his/her other abilities to deal damage, having an almost useless auto attack.

Anyway, just a fast extra question for Elementalists: How’s possible to land a scepter 2 ability on a moving enemy? x.x

Aww, yeah, the low levels are kind of boring.

Maybe find a larger, active guild (or at least find friendly people on your server) and party up with people who are leveling alts? Things seem to go so much faster when there’s a team, plus then you can take on the more difficult DE’s for the exp and money rewards!

Soon a few friends will join,no need for a guild

Another thing you can do is roll a character, get through the intro quest, and go to the Mists to try out lvl 80 builds before you start investing time in leveling. Sure, it will be a while in PvE until you get to 80, but it will give you an idea of how your fully developed character will play. Play at level 1-29 is not very characteristic of how the profession plays at level 80.

That’s what i do,i see the class works fine in the mists, then i start to level it a bit and…pfft…maybe i should try a new one!
Then i go to the mists and i repeat the above. x.x

  1. Elementalist, lol. Really, there is no strategy out there right now that will control aggro

From what i’ve seen, having a minion (works with necro, not ranger) and dodging,or “forcing” a minion/pet to attack will draw the aggro to it/them.
Probably this is why necros are so popular…i never see a necro with less than 3 minions xD

Hello, probably someone else already has seen some of my posts about the same argument…the fact is that whenever i think i’ve found my perfect profession…i always change idea!
I am trying professions for ofer 4 months…and i’ve made so many characters i couldn’t even count them (over 15 for sure).

I understand asking people’s opinion about two or more classes will bring me nowhere, that’s why i’ll ask you to answer to these questions to help me decide:

1) Wich is the profession(s) you’d like to play with in a dungeon?
2) Wich profession(s) you think is/are easier to play in PvE and why?
3) Wich profession(s) is/are more rewarding for the skill you show with them?
4) Wich profession(s) is/are the most difficult to play?
5) Wich is the profession(s) that,in your opinion, shine over the other in PvP?
6) Wich profession(s) can draw the aggro on itself/theirselves the best?
7) Wich profession(s) has/have the highest dps capability?
8!) Do you think people should play the profession based on how them like the design (without even playing the game) or based on their ingame preferences?

The 8th question is the most important: when i started downloading the game i took a look at the professions, and my favourite ones,in my 1st impression, were the thief and the mesmer, however while playing i started thinking how it’d be if i chose another one…and then it started by “professions depression”.

ATM,i’m not excluding any class.(it’s the 1st game where the warrior looks interesting!) However i’m in serious trouble deciding wich one should be my one.
I’d be very happy if you could share with me your opinions, have a nice day and thanks for reading.

Not sure what to choose: engineer or thief?

It seems to me like you don’t want to use grenade kit. If you don’t, I’ll admit – the engineer underperforms damage-wise in a consistent manner. Without it, your main damage comes from the spikes every 15-20 seconds through rifle skills. If you’ve tried grenade kit with smartcasting and still didn’t like it, then I guess engineer isn’t for you. I have seen a decent medibomber setup for dungeons, and it’s fairly supporty – but it’s taking advantage of a glitch currently on one of the engineer skills to provide some quite blatantly OP support, that I’d rather not divulge right now. Still – it’s an interesting, supporty, tanky build. Just don’t expect healing bombs with healing traits and whatnot to be obliterating mobs in a few seconds.

You guess right,my idea of “auto attack” in an automatic attack that’s on 24/7 to deal continuous damage…and grenades need ground targeting, that make them very annoying and painful to use. Of course i use the smart cast!

Anyway, now i’m thinking on Thief and Mesmer…but i think i’ll probably start with thief, then i’ll do a mesmer when the thief will be level 80,specially because if mesmer’s early levels are painful,it’s better to have a nice amount of skill when i’ll have to face them.

Engy can do it all at once. It’s called kits. I equip 4 for my fractals of the mists runs. Medkit, elixir gun, grenade kit, toolkit.

Gives me access to:
Group-wide AoE healspam (double super elixir via refined kits – this includes double condition removals, AND light fields that remove a condition on yourself when you use a projectile finisher through them)
Immense self-sustain (medkit + super elixirs)
An emergency block (3s block from toolkit)
Incredible ranged damage (grenade kit)
Monstrously good mob control (7.5s chill via grenade kit, double box of nails via tool kit)
And, this’ll sound crazy, but I actually use my main weapon from time to time:
2.5s root
Emergency knockback
Spike damage (with rifle out, use throw wrench, grenade barrage, blunderbuss, and jump shot, then swap to toolkit to use prybar, swap to elixir gun for Acid Bomb, then swap to grenade kit until everything’s up for your next spike).

Crazy what happens when you know how to play a class, huh?

I have a flexible mind,i though about this too while taking a look at the wiki, and after a test on the mists…my idea would have been healing kit+utility googles+rifle turret+tool kit, using a rifle.
The combo would should be: apply vulnerability, use 2,3 of rifle, throw wrench,4 of rifle, googles to recover from stun immediatly, rifle 5 to catch the opponent, surprise bullet while i’m on air,on land switch to tool kit, confuse, cripple…then place the turret, and keep hitting.Of course with the static discharge for extra damage.
Theorycrafting is easy to do,and the engineer rocks in pvp, however the scaling on kits, being forced to use grenades to be useful, the fact your weapon is useless if you use kits…is keeping me from rushing an engineer to lvl 80.

If you want to be useful in end-game dungeons, pick Engineer. Thief has pretty low non-melee damage, and offers zero support. If someone mentions Shadow Refuge, I will find them and [kittens everywhere]. Taking the heat off a few players and putting them all on another is not sufficient to bring something to a team. And don’t mention venomshare, it’s.. blughtastic.

Engineer? AoE heals out the wazoo, AoE blinds (yes thief does this too I realize), all the conditions, stuns, 7.5s AoE chills (this is a big one right here), just bucketloads of stuff.

I think the question you should ask yourself is – are you good at microing? Do you want to play a complex class that will reward your efforts? Then pick engineer. If you want to just push 1-2 buttons per fight, maybe you should go with thief.

I don’t agree: the thief isn’t the easiest class to use,and he offers the damage to a team.
a bit of time ago i’ve seen a pistol whip+haste build…it seemed pretty useful in dungeons imo!

I agree the engineers are useful in dungeons, however the issue is that they can’t do it all at once! And some builds are clearly better than others! just think at the cleansing explosion trait, the trait that adds a extra grenade when you use your 1st skill with the grenade kit…and the grenade spam! All allies will have 0 conditions!(am i right?)
Of course it’s a great tactic, but then you’ll lack somewhere else! for example damage output.

Also, the thief can AoE blinds as much as the engineer, that isn’t a problem! pistol’s 5 is a perma blind as powerful as the engineer’s smoke screen using the flame turret.

The thief can also stealth AoE,both with stealth refuge and another ability i don’t remember the name of.
I don’t really like the venoms, but the thief is capable of chilling too through it,not just the engineer.

ATM the bigger issue is that when someone tells me about a PvE build,or their experience with a profession,my eyes shines and i think it’s the profession for me…then someone else does the same and i’m in trouble again.

If you like conditions, support, but still would like to have some high power potential please do consider Necromancer as well. Their dagger power builds are loads of fun in world PvE and they are a huge boon in dungeons.

On mesmer, you should play it further. Around level 40 the profession really picks up in terms of PvE. Of all my characters, I am the most confident I could handle an infinite steady stream of adds with the mesmer; they’re just unkillable in PvE if played right unless the incoming damage can 1 shot you.

The issue is that i can’t play all the professions x.x
I’m pretty nice, imo,at choosing the best option…but sometimes there’s just no best option and i’m lost when this happens.

I love to play the mesmer in pvp, however i don’t see how a trait could change so much about a profession O.o
Ok,some builds are based on traits, like Engineer’s static discharge build…and some professions are much better, like the thief, after a certain level (because a trait can give a thief a lot of bonus initiative) however i still have to understand how a trait can transform a mesmer from very bad and painful to being able to crush everything that doesn’t 1shot you :x

Anyway,i really like condition damage…however i’ve a big issue with the necromancer: If i don’t take minions with me i feel too squishy, and i’ve a very limited set of skills to use.
Of course,i like being able to stack marks in a place and then making an enemy go there…or to being able to apply 17 stacks of bleeding…but it really feels like “this way or no other way”.
A little bit like the engineer: good until you spam grenades, mediocre when you don’t,of course a rifle/turrets build is fine but grenades may be better in any other way.

The best thing, that i’ll sure do,is to bring all these awesome professions to level 80…but i’ll still need a profession to start with!
I know that for some professions i should think “wait for lvl X then you’ll pwn” …but when i think all the bad time i’ll have to reach it i’m like…just…sad,it feels like i’d never get there.
With that said…i really start to think that i’d really take some little pieces of paper, write the professions in there, put them in a box and shake, then i’d pick one and play that profession, but i’d then think “and what would have happened if i picked something different?”

…Anyway! These kind of decisions are very hard for me,the thing that’d really help me now is:is there a profession,in pve, that will never let me think “ kitten if i’d have picked another one i would have been able to get past this easily, instead it took me a lot of painful time with this one.” ?

You have identified what you like and dislike. Only you can answer how you would enjoy what you like and get used to what you don’t like. looking at what you dislike from the other classes, there isn’t a class that doesn’t have disadvantages.

faceroll is boring but challengeing isn’t a guarenteed win.

If the mesmer’s auto attacks would have a little of AoE… x.x

“Well 2 weapeon sets + weapeon kit + 3 class skills + 5 utilitys make up to 23 skills.”
you can’t swap weapons, kits take 1 class slot.
so 5 skills+15 skills+4 from toolbelt+5 if you use the healing kit and elite=30

and…it’s totally not tottaly x)

and yeah,i still have doubts :<

What i’m looking for is the class i’d enjoy the most.

At the start, when i was downloading the game, the choose was between mesmer and thief…then the mesmer showed up to be incredibly weak in PvE compared to other classes…and i’ve also taken in consideration the engineer and the elementalist.
I’ve then rejected the ele…and i’ve taken in consideration the guardian, warrior, ranger and necro.
The necro and the warrior looked a bit boring to me(i had the minion build in my mind with the necro),the guardian is just a spin 2 win,and the ranger is even better melee than ranged O.o
I then tried the engineer, and i’ve found it both awesome and awful for the reasons stated before.
I had then decided to reject the thief, for his low AoE abilities…then i tried the necro with a different build,i didn’t like it,so i rolled the thief again, and i’m liking him as much as the engineer.

So,atm i’ve a low amount of informations about the PvE mesmer,a decent amount of the Engineer (lvl 21) and a decent amount with the thief (lvl 15)

So…i don’t think the mesmer can be a better choose than the thief or the engineer…as clones do almost no damage (when i played it,clones kept spamminkittenage against all enemies O.O) and die way too fast…probably my favourite class but only for PvP…that leaves the Thief and the Engineer alone,on my top place.

From what you told i would suggest engineer. Thief has no way to tank oponents damage, and has innitiative shared in both weapeon sets so you will end up closer to 1 trick pony then 1 versalite build in any case.
Engineer on other hand can swap through his weapeon sets almost indefinetly having few sets, which save you from lots of trouble as they are very versalite. But engineer has longer cd’s if you want to stick to 1 weapeon.

The issue about Engineers is that kits don’t care about your weapon’s stats…also an engineer can’t do everything at once…i mean: or you burn an enemy,or you’ll launch it grenades,or you’ll support allies with elixirs…or anything else.
Also,i’ve heard that signets and such will not affect kits too! It may be very, very handy with the early levels…but i think it could become very bad after a certain level :x

Thieves have, instead,a very hard time early…but then, after some traits they are able to spam much more…

I just can’t decide

Warrior.

versatile in which weopons you can choose which makes your abilities versatile. Good damage, tanky, certain weopons allow mobility.

Other than that you might be looking for a 1 player game. If there was a perfect twink class with all strengths all the time, everyone would be it so no one would be facerole and dominant anymore except for skill. :P

not the best in everything…just though, without long cooldowns and tons of mobility (not like swiftness,i mean blinks, dashes, evades) …or just a versatile class without true disvantages.

what upsets me about the engi is that your weapons’ stats don’t affect kits, and same for signets :X

Hello,it’s over a month (and more than 20 characters x.x) that i’m trying to choose wich class should be my class…and i ended up about deciding between these two.
After the 1st one will reach lvl 80 i’ll probably bring the other one to 80 too…but idk wich one should be the 1st one! Of course the decision is for PvE.

The issue is that i hate mana/energy (in this case,it’s initiative)…and i hate long cooldowns;i love to be mobile, but i also love to have something for any situation, being versatile, while i love to dominate my opponents while being able to tank them if needed.

The issue is that the Engineer and the Thief have both something i love and something i hate!

In your opinion, wich one should i choose and why? Your answer will help me greatly!

P.s. i’ve brought an Engineer to lvl 21,and a Thief to level 15

Asura all the way???

I love Asura…i’ll always make Asura characters…I will never regret making an Asura character.

I tried the Charr, but i don’t like the dodge animation and you look slow…while Asura is like “whoooosh!” all the time, because the movement is the same in all the races so the Asura has to jump wich is awfully sweet xD
Also, having a 2h hammer big like your arm…having the same area of effect that a Norn has is pretty cool imo.

Who cares if your equipment will not be as big as other races’? It will still be cool and if someone doesn’t like your appearance, then it’s time to fight against that someone!

also,look at this site: http://www.gw2armor.com/
It should clear all your guesses about the armor

Using macros with GW2's mouse...

Indeed u can bind whatever u want on ur mouse as long u don’t automate the gameplay u can do whatever u want. What u can’t do is to create a macro to auto farm in 1 spot or something like that. But u can even create macros to use 2 skills with the same button for example, yes it is a hardware advantage, u pay for it, u are supposed to take advantage of it as long u don’t automate ur game.

a 500$ Video card is better and give u the edge over a 70$ one, is the same with keyboards, mouse headsets, expensive ones will give u the edge, otherwise they would sell the whole game along with a standard hardware to play it don’t u think?

I mean to bind a macro to a key…Of course i don’t want a bot to farm something, what i’m interested to is a button that spams 1,so i would use it with the grenade kit to avoid my finger’s execution :x

Using macros with GW2's mouse...

ButterOfDeath.2873

Hello,i am deciding about buying the GW2’s mouse…but i’ve read that using macros is a bannable offence :s

I’ve seen in a review of the mouse, that it comes with a software to configure it,with already some GW2 macros in it! So it would be pretty stupid to sell what you shouldn’t use :s

I’m asking this because i’ve decided to play the engineer…but spamming grenades becomes painful after some time,so my idea was to bind the 1 key to one of the GW2’s mouse’s extra buttons, just to save my finger.

Is it allowed?
If no,why do GW2 sell custom gaming equipment that would allow to beark their own rules? And why would they already include macros in there?

edit
I’ll be more clear: my idea is to bind my mouse’s extra button to “spam” 1,let’s say every 0.2 seconds,so i could use the grenade kit without destroying my finger.
