In the upcoming June 23 update list, Agility Training is no longer listed as a trait under the Ranger Skirmishing traitline. Honestly this is my first peeve and it’s serious. For those of us who use our pets to do most of the damage to players, our pets will be quite limited having to rely only on getting swiftness.
Oh, I see now I may not have had the trait on…Oops
Server: Sea of Sorrows
Map: The Silverwastes, Far Silverwastes
character: Level 80 Norn Engineer
Today, I did Personal Story of another person in the Far Silverwastes. (“No Refuge.”) I noticed that here in the Far Silverwastes, my Engineer trait Cleaning Formula (for an Elixirs build) was not working during the story. It was not removing conditions during the battle with the Centaurs.
Also, after leaving the instance to return to open world Far Silverwastes, the trait is still not working in the area. I can’t remove conditions caused by enemies, such as poison by Hylek.
In the Up path, Fyonna was bugged and my party could not continue because she just stood there without interacting.
No, I’m in Sea of Sorrows right now and Mendon’s Tower has been ours and the enemy guards keep spawning around and archer inside.
Additional issues (also added to my first post here):
- NPC guards spawning at wrong times and/or on wrong teams within objectives.
- Is this only happening when the objective flips?
- Score reduction when some maps in a match reset/rollback.
NPC workers getting stuck is an issue I’ll take note of for later, but probably isn’t related to the immediate issues with WvW cross-server data we’re investigating now. We’ll have to take care of the World (vs. World) being on fire first.
Thanks for the extra reports and information.

Enemy guards are spawning randomly at the tower, along with allied guards. They’re fighting each other comically

I remember the signets as being permanent on pets before, like on the Ranger, not having a constant cooldown renewal like now.
There also need to be a lot more ways to apply Revealed to enemies, because currently there are only two profession skills to do it.
I had a thief follow me as I trailed our zerg across half the map in EOTM. She kept trying to pick off the stragglers and, even with my Ranger Trapper build, I could not stop her. Super annoying and unbalanced. And thieves like this can take down your health to half in just a few hits.
I think I’ve identified the problem. Roll a thief and learn. Post a daily blog on you playing your thief.
I don’t know how to play Thief, but I had 2-3 other players near me constantly and we still couldn’t stop this kitten from attacking people at the end of the zerg. That is unbalanced.

And to top it off, the engineer kept killing me using the Vampire Rune.
I was just in Unranked Arena and we got stuck against the premade LURE Guild team. Is that allowed? I thought they were botting.
I thought it was the pet’s attacks that trigger it…I wasn’t attacking.
Ok it does seem to be working now, but it wasn’t at that time.
Actually, it apparently doesn’t work at all while I’m in Mount Maelstrom.
The animation appears, but the combat log records no damage.
This Ranger Warhorn skill doesn’t work on inanimate objects, such as Gates and Cannons.
This Ranger Skirmishing Master trait doesn’t work underwater.
Arboreal Spirit and Overgrown Grub are what you do when you’re bored as kitten in extremely unbalanced matches.
yEAH SOS has been afflicted with that issue for a while…
I’m divided on it. Superior siege is a commodity limited to the people who can make it and know how—so that’s bad overall, but of course it’s great if you have it yourself.
Champion Arboreal Spirit: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Champion_Arboreal_Spirit
Overgrown Grub: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Overgrown_Grub
These two Eternal Battlegrounds bosses have really cool and unique mechanics, yet hardly anyone bothers with them anymore, because of the large amount of time needed to defeat them and the very low rewards. So they just sit in their parts of the map seeing barely any gameplay. It’s been like a year since I’ve seen an organized group attack either of them.
I’ve learned how to solo the Champ. Arboreal Spirit as a ranger using movement-impeding conditions, using my pet to aggro, and timing dodges carefully, but even then it takes an hour and can only be done without being attacked by enemy players.
I think it would be a lot more fun if both the Spirit and the Grub were mercenaries protecting Speldan Mill and Umberglade Mill, respectively. A server would have to defeat them to take allegiance like any other mercenary and they would make capturing those camps so much more challenging. Currently it only takes one experienced player to capture a camp—this would add a new and rewarding element. A third boss could be added to Golanta Mill in the Lowlands area.
Or, if that idea doesn’t interest people, how about changing the mechanics of these two NPCs so they actually have an interactive effect on zerging gameplay?
I also think the rewards for both bosses should be substantially increased and/or changed to a sliding scale such that the rewards are greater the fewer players were involved in killing them.
good changes for the most part, but realistically, how exactly does one poison, bleed, and torment a mechanical object?
had I known you could poison mechanical objects, I would have done so to my enemies cars irl by now =D
We’re already able to cause bleeding, poison, and torment to mechanical objects such as Asura golems, Watchknights, and Steam creatures.
It does poison dredge, but it doesn’t have any effect on other creatures.

Consumable item he sells: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Smoke_Bomb_
If I can find again the NPC who sells it, I’ll post it here.
Does Weakness affect World Bosses like Tequatl the Sunless?
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Smoke_Bomb
I bought it from an NPC in a dredge cave. I don’t remember where. When consumed for its targeted area effect on the ground, the combat log records no effects on enemies. It may “poison dredge” as it says, but the smoke effect doesn’t happen (no blinding).
This item for sale from an NPC doesn’t do anything.
- The trait Natural Healing doesn’t say in its description that it also heals the Ranger.
- After the ranger respawns, the pet sometimes has less than 100% health and doesn’t return until swapped twice.
- Flame Trap disappears after like 40 seconds, unlike the other traps.
- In sPVP, when a ranger dies, their pet often reappears where they died, setting off
Ranger traps placed by opponent right after they died, which need to be replaced. - Pet sometimes stops attacking certain inanimate objects and have to swap pets to make the next pet attack it.
- The healing triggered by the Beastmastery pet trait Invigorating Bond doesn’t show up at all in combat logs.
- Hide In Plain Sight trait description still calls it camouflage, despite the March 16 update saying it’s been changed to regular Stealth.

Add any Ranger bugs you know of here.

Well, I wish ArenaNet would update the description text to say it only affects 5 people.
Got into a debate today in Edge of the Mists about the trait Spotter. Some guy kept saying I should use Piercing Arrows instead of Spotter because he said Spotter is party-based and another person chimed in that Spotter only affects five people.
Is this true? I was under the impression from the Wiki that Spotter affects everyone within a 600 range.
I don’t think it’s ridiculous. I have several times played as the ranger in that scenario and the warrior’s vengeance often results in him finishing me before my pet fully heals me.
They made the Guitar with primitive Tyrian Technology. What you expect?
Tyrian technology is not primitive at all. Look at all the things the Asura make and the cannons used to shoot down the Claw of Jormag. Or even the Dredge technology.
This guitar is a huge letdown. I heard someone playing it in the PvP lobby and it sounds awful.
If you get killed by the Lord or the Soldiers/Casters protecting the Lord, and none of the opposing team players hit you, does that count for kill points for the opposing team?
Same, lots of people hearing voices in the game.
Yup lots of people are lagging since the patch. Lots of skill lag. Also people are hearing character voices around them when no one’s there.
At the end of Winter Wonderland, my character always moves in jerky movements. Please fix.
Also, today people in Winter Wonderland were discussing the disparity in our maximum health. Some had as low as 15K while some had as high as 24K.
I also would like it if Bell Choir was a team competition or had a team competition mode for advanced players. Since the game already separates people into groups, why not give rewards based on team score?
One thing I want fixed, which had the same problem last year, is how in Snowball Mayhem, your weapon choice sometimes gets randomly changed right after the game starts. So I’m running down and suddenly my weapon changes spontaneously, which is unnerving.
I love Snowball Mayhem, but I notice this year that when playing the game, it doesn’t play happy Christmas bell music. Instead I’m hearing scary swamp fight music? Is this intentional or an error?
Missing the pretty bell music.

There is a ghostly figure running through the sewer system under Lion’s Arch and it’s labeled as Mysterious Fog. It leaves something on the ground you can inspect, but I don’t get any dialogue after inspecting it.
I agree that lots of changes need to be made to Lunatic Inquisition. Currently, I only play to waste some time and grab a few bags while cooking, because there’s no point to trying to win. It doesn’t even give better rewards based on personal score, just on number of rounds.
This one is a common bug I’ve seen often.
Shark pet has AI issues
-Server: Sea of Sorrows
-Map/location: Malchor’s Leap and elsewhere
-Character info(level, race, profession): 80, Sylvari, Ranger
-How to reproduce issue: Engage in multiple underwater battles with a Shark pet
I have lots of trouble with the Shark pet, which is sad, because it has the highest power for aquatic pets. The problem is that it frequently stops attacking for no reason and then no longer responds to commands in the middle of battle. I notice this especially in the underwater areas of the Ruins of Orr maps, such as Malchor’s Leap.
Oh, another issue is often the Shark pet will not attack inanimate objects, such as underwater Inquest turrets. In this case, it never even makes an initial attack. Instead, it just sits there next to you, even if the turret is attacking you.
