funny thing, NSP and HoD are already complaining after half a week, when ET and FC sat through these zergballs for 3 whole months.
Show some backbone, guys, you are friggin T7 and get stomped by a little server which belongs in t8, cause it gets crushed in higher tiers, right?, right?

Ahh well you see, I was there (on FC) when SF first dropped down into t8. We (FC) beat the snot out of them the first week, then they got a mass influx of transfers.. You think you hear complaining now? It was much louder back then. But I guess you must be one of the bandwagoners that joined at a much later date.

Can anyone explain… again this guy that we never got a mass influx of transfers? OK Ill do it myself…
You see, the transfer thing was the opposite, we had some guilds that played a lot of WvW, then, suddenly(they didnt said goodbye) our server wasn’t worthy enough to be their home and they mass transferred to Yaks Bend (couple of 500 member guild left, Im not talking about medium guilds) and seem to make a huge impact there in Yaks(they were #10 before now they rose and are#9), that left us Sorrows with no one on our borderlands until we hit #22, when our PvE guilds and the loyal WvW guilds that were left started playing wvw that’s when it made a difference.
I can tell you this, not a single guild who moves out of nowhere, without even saying goodbye and even trying to recruit people to move with them deserves any respect, not for me thou.
That is why you felt the strength that week, that’s why we were at T8, that’s why we are kind of glassy (we come mainly from PvE)

And btw, we never got any racist comments from Eredon or Ferguson, I really miss that, I know we can trash talk each other (to a certain degree), but racist comments just make us hate you as a whole guild and person.

Uh…yeah, we know! We should have been able to get out of T8 on our own steam a LONG time ago (1/4 of a year of domination is simply too long). But due to how Glicko works and how skewed the ratings were in T8, there was simply zero chance of us getting out of T8 on our own steam without some sort of adjustment to the ratings.

So why should T8 NA get special treatment? Why not a universally applied answer? As an academic and a historian you should know that giving a minority special treatment is not a solution.

The biggest reason is that the solution is to attempt to break up what has become an ossified matchup. It is hardly a solution to the underlying problem, but it will hopefully put some variety back into the T8 and T7 matchups in NA which were sorely lacking in that because of the rating system we use for matchups.

Thanks Devon! I am sure that if everyone else had to deal with the stagnation that T8 has been through they would understand what is going on.

Technically, SF dug themselves in to this “hole you can’t crawl out of” in the first place. They have no one to blame but themselves. Had HoD or GoM been LOWER in the rankings, like SF was, then they would be in the situation SF is in.

Again, please look at the facts before spouting this crap. Because of Denravi and Kaineng roflstomping ET and FC right before we dropped (and look at the T7 scores when we were last there, very close except that one week), their ratings were wrecked so no matter how bad we beat them our ratings dropped hard and even with curbstomping our rating would not rise enough to get over that edge into T7 again.

We did NOT dig this hole, we merely fell into it.

And if you are using those arguments, then GoM dropping into T8 is their fault also.

Not hating on SF, just really upset about what Anet is doing to GoM. No warning really is a bad play by them. I do believe something should be done to the sink hole that is Tier 8, however, potentially dropping a T7 server intentionally when new April content is released AND with absolutely no warning is just irresponsible and wrong. Sure, and most of us get that. But here’s our shoes: T7 matches have been extremely close for weeks now and we probably have the most balanced tier out of the entire NA ladder.

You are right, I get that. But the gist of the problem started with ET and FC having artificially low ranking points due to the server transfers so we couldn’t smash our way back into T7. This process of them bumping the ratings is just doing what should have naturally happened once we started kicking kitten in T8.

So while I completely get that you enjoy the balanced matchups and will miss them, we should have been back into T7 about a month after hitting T8, if the other T8 rankings had been normal.

I have been on FC from the start and I can tell you that SF right now numbers easily what Kain and DR did before there push up.

I find it hard to believe that current SF numbers are anything like what Kaineng had after the migration. TBH, I don’t think all 6 of the bottom servers added up together have those kind of numbers/coverage.

I would point out that we will, most likely, be getting a bunch of the bored players back into WvW when we move up (and if we do not move up this reset, hopefully they come back to get the rust off before we do move up). But then again, the other T7 servers will probably experience the same thing with the new kid on the block moving in.

I’m so excited! And I just can’t hide it!!

Why are you hating on SF as a whole? You do not think we deserve a chance at T7 at all? Put yourself in our shoes first, imagine what it would be like beating the other two servers in your matchup by double score most of the time and not moving up for almost 3 straight months!! And as for SF being curbstomped by you guys, NOBODY knows how this is going to go. Reset when we do move up (and we will, this reset or next) is going to be a BLAST for everyone, dealing with new opponents, new tactics, new zerg styles.

I’ve heard this notion before, whoever is the coward(s) whisper-complaining to the PvP Commanders, quit it. They are great guys, who I personally have co-ordinated with in the past when commanding, and I’ve seen them do the same to other commanders.

If you don’t like the way someone commands, ignore them and move on. It’s not that hard.

I agree! Commanding is a tough job, if someone is willing to try, be patient. all commanders had to start as a noobie somewhere.

Yeah I agree, but it’s pretty tough to negate 100 with 25 though, being that 25 almost have to stay in 1 place whereas 100 can split up into 3 groups and hit 3 separate targets. Where it’s not 100% a numbers game, but it is definitely over 90% and always will be. Whoever has that off-peak numbers advantage can run up the PPT, hence, the large score difference we see each week.

I think that people just like to complain haha, it’s kind of sad. Why not just go out, have fun and whatever happens happens. Enjoy battle and leave the drama/qq out.

Numbers help, that is for sure. I think one reason people tend to not try to counteract numbers is, you will die. Period. I can disrupt any zerg I come across solo, but it takes some terrain strategy and knowing you will die. But my point when I play WvW is not to live, my goal is to keep the enemy from taking objectives and to help my team capture things. My feeling is open field battles are pointless unless your aim is to disrupt their zerg while your defenses are prepared or to prevent them from preparing for their assault. I know my philosophies on this are not widely held, but I also think it is because a vast majority of players in WvW are afraid to get killed.

WvW has ALWAYS been and ALWAYS will be about numbers and coverage, its a 24/7 fight for crying out loud. If you can’t field a group for the full 24/7, you will lose PPT. Take a look a JQ, they didn’t have the numbers to beat SoS back in the day so what did they do? Brought in MORE guilds with MORE people in MORE timezones. Whoever has more people online at a given time and are aggressive, will win. Saying numbers isn’t a part of WvW is idiotic..

From our perspective, we are here to kill people and have fun. We realize that anything we take will just be PvDoored down later, so we have as much fun as we can in the time we spend online. Our “stories” are what we will remember 3-4 months from now, in the next game and joke about for a long time to come… remembering that “hey we only lost by 100k instead of 150k” isn’t.

Perhaps try reading what I put down instead of assigning your own meaning to it. I never said numbers were never a factor. I stated that “do not mean as much as all the posters whine about” and “do not fool yourself into thinking it is all a numbers game”.

There are many ways to counteract larger numbers. I never said you could negate them completely but you can mitigate the numbers in most circumstances.

We were holding our own. We fell into T8 after some very close fights in T7. Then (I believe this is how it went) lost the first week in T8, won a very close couple of weeks, then SF got some transfers before free transfers ended (first time). That is when we started stomping.
