+1 for guildies on map
I wonder if it is a bit size thing, so 250 was the closest round number to the he 256 threshold?
Ohh, thats kitteny GoZero.
There was me thinking this was the ‘Suggestions’ section and not the ‘Demands’ one. And I did say that it was not a big thing. Hmm, maybe its not me being the kitten at all, maybe it was you the whole time..
I know its not a big thing but it would be handy if you could have customizable preset layouts for different characters, I have a slightly different setup for each so would save me those seconds it takes to change them.
It seems you are missing the proper sacrifice to the RNG gods.
Random is random is random unfortunately, think of those that have spent 800 odd gold in the mystic forge and got nothing and someone else gets a precursor first flush.
I think maybe they need to look at how they advertise this so people either don’t buy them or don’t get upset.
yeah, there are a few skill points that are only doable when the temple is turned. Anet have even added handy statue icons to the map so you can see when they are available
inb4 locked
I have only 2 real gripes with the game and they are DR and the right mouse targeting.
I honestly don’t know why either are in the game. You’d hope the targeting could be quickly fixed with a toggle in th options but maybe its not that simple.
They are not in an invisible pack/bag are they? If something is in one of them it does not show to be sold (so you cant accidentally sell something you want to keep)
how do you know, that there is a 0.3% chance?
I assume that you’re talking of lvl 80 rares?
There are forums where many, many people have been giving their results of their flushes. It seems the return of 4 L80 Rares is 0.3% a precursor and 20% an exotic. Its all anecdotal stuff but the best we have unless Anet reveal anything.
Just a quick point, atm it costs about 2 silver per T5 mat and apparently the odds of a Precursor are 0.3 on 4 rares….
So thats 35 odd silver per crafted rare, at four rares per flush with a 0.3% chance it works out at 466G average for getting a precursor.
Probably similar to the other missing chest issues, look at the Dragon chest bugged thread. Seems its the hated DR kicking in.
On the my story section of the hero window, as I scroll down the titles on the left if I go further down than Estate of Decay the list clears completely. If i go back up to where Estate of Decay is last on the list it returns.
Good spot and nice use of a .gif for demonstration
Is there any news if the boxes drop precursors?
If you do say so yourself!
Are you guys not using salvage kits? I tend to salvage all whites and blues and you get loads of level appropriate mats with them.
I have never got loot from the champion at the end of the Plinx event. Never. I tend to do it for the karma and assumed that maybe because it was an event Champ so you don’t get loot. There is no chance it because of insufficient damage either.
The jump from getting your exotics to legendary is too high, with the MF and its RNG lottery and the DR so grinding mats is harder I think they should have added some layers in between.
Too late now.
Anet won’t tell us under what circumstances DR kicks in or for how long, its completely possible that it acts the same way as a buff, so any offline time is not counted towards your DR punishment. So if DR kicks in you may have to idle rather than logout to clear it or when you log back it will sill be in effect, even if its days later.
Obviously this could all be instantly cleared up if Anet told us when and why DR kicks in, but that would mean they would have to think of a solution to botters that targets them directly rather than the blanket tar everyone with the same brush approach we have now.
The endgame in terms of gear is the grind to get a legendary. But Anet don’t want you to grind so they introduced the DR, just to take any vague fun out of trying to scrape the massive requirements together.
I have no idea what their thinking is punishing us for trying to meet the requirements they themselves set.
Sounds good +1
I’d sell them tbh, unless you are after a precursor and are willing to keep flushing them down the toilet. If its a precursor your after then still sell them and use the money to make/buy rares to flush.
What is the purpose of DR?
Is it to thwart botters or is it to discourage legitimate farming or both?
If it’s purely to stop botters then it is a ridiculously heavy handed and lazy approach for Anet to take so I can’t believe that’s the case, but the DR is described as a safety net by one of the content guys, which implies it is a botter fix.
If it’s also to discourage ‘normal’ players from farming then why structure the game so that progress to level 80 is quick, progress to a set of exotic armour is quick but the requirements of the next ‘tier’, legendries, requires massive levels of farming? Why the sudden cliff-face rise in materials and time?
Anet clearly expected players to spend most of their game time at 80, but then discourage you from performing the main available goal of those players, ie working towards a legendary.
So Anet please come clean, what is the DR for, work with the community for a better approach to tackle botters and encourage us to keep playing when we hit L80, don’t penalise us.
You rarely see named pets anymore because of this bug. I don’t bother naming mine anymore.
Keeping the names local does make a lot sense, hopefully its not too big a fix so my juvenile eagle can be rightfully named Nigel again.
One of the advantages is that you would have more of an incentive to level alts and kit them out in better armor. You would also then create a better balanced set of characters which would mean that when a player goes in for a ‘normal’ dungeon the would be able to fill any role needed.
The dungeons could be cut down and the rewards reduced, it should never replace the multiplayer aspect but it would be a fun idea.
I mentioned this earlier in another thread and some people liked the idea so i’ll throw it out there in its on thread.
It was as the title suggest a way to solo dungeons with a team made up of your alts, the alts being AI controlled.
I’m not suggesting that the dungeons have the same rewards as the standard all player ones but maybe a reduced number of tokens or something.
I know that this is not a single player game but there are times when you cant commit to a full run or find people to run with.
The AI would obviously pose problems, it is a bit dim atm, but that can be something to work towards, maybe have logic rules like in FF11 ( was that the one?) that can be unlocked with progress so your alts get better and more versatile as you go (maybe even a separate exp bar for alts that are guesting with you)
Fire away.
I though I was pretty clear…
When you go to dye mode to change the colour of your character, after pushing ‘H’ to get the hero pane it would be better if, once you have selected the dye you want for it to change on your character when you hover the pointer over the swatch (the little squares next to the armor icon) rather than having to actually set it.
I for one can never remember for example what the bottom right swatch changes on the chest armor or the bottom left on the gloves, and it changes from armor to armor.
Hover preview would sort this and save time while you try to get the colour combinations just right.
It would be great if you could rather than solo it have your alts join you as AI controlled players. Maybe would require too much AI programming though, the AI is fairly dim atm.
The way that you change the colour of you characters armor is very frustrating to use. Can I suggest the following changes:
When you select a dye then go to the armor swatches can the colour show on your character when you hover over the swatch.
When you do not have a dye selected can hovering over a swatch highlight the corresponding armor piece.
I’m in a similar boat, tbh I have given up on a legendary, the mystic toilets odds are so low, 0.3% for a precursor and 20% for an exotic when 4 rares are flushed I have read that it just does not seem to be worth it. Maybe in a couple of months i’ll see if I can craft the rares myself to have a go if i’m still playing.
Ah, that might be it then. Its the spider when its attack isn’t it? I cant remember it being there at the end.
So firebreathz you think that there are 2 rolls. One roll to see what level of loot you might get then a second one to see if you get something from that level. And MF pushed the first roll higher, so you are more often making a second roll against the higher level loot?
So MF does not effect that second roll…
If this is the way that Anet are doing it then surely MF should effect both rolls to be worth having.
It would be lovely if someone from Anet would give us a hint at to how the mechanics of these things work.
Killed priest of melandru last night and no chest at the end for anyone, also killed the champion at the end of the Plinx event and no drop.
If its DR kicking in then surely some people would get it and not others, unless if any one person had had the DR kick in then it screws it for everyone?
Having seen another thread in Bugs where and Admin suggested that a chest did not appear after a Dragon because the DR had kicked in for some of those fighting it, can there be some way to show clearly that the DR has kicked in, or is about to.
I’m sure many of us have spent ages helping to take down a Champion or on a event run then get nothing in the end because the DR has activated, if we knew it was about to happen we would not bother to continue (sad I know but people rarely do something for nothing).
So can there be a bar or something that ticks down until the DR makes continuing pointless.
Hi Sydyshka, I tried to register on your forum but it will not sent the verification email, it throws an error.
If Anet made the odds in the Forge become dependent rather than independent everyone would be happier.
So if the odds of getting what you want are 1/500 then the second time it becomes 1/499 and so on. You still have the chance to get it on first hit but the longer you keep dumping stuff in the better your chance. If you are really unlucky you will still get it on the 500th flush.
Lets be honest, the TP interface is god awful. I completely agree SSalp, but for all tabs too.
I would also like it to not get confused if you look in the what your selling section requiring you to click on another tab then go back and start the process again.
To be be able to search withing a search.
To be able to refine your filters more.
I find it strange that what is in effect a browser has such a bad UI when surely that would have been one of the easiest things to implement.
Agreed
Its so clunky.
For something that is such a key element of the game why is it so badly designed?
Navigating around it is poor, it does not remember where you were or what you were searching, you cant search within a search result…. its….. its…… in a word… kitten.
The best weapon against bots is a good reporting system and one where users get some feedback.
For example if you report a load of botters what happens to them? I don’t know if they are banned or even investigated, so then you are less likely to continue to report them when you see them.
Let us know what your doing Anet, it will give us faith that something is being done.
Were you attacked or being hit while harvesting? This can screw up the harvest and ruin your goodies
I got one too today, but I have also noticed an increase in botters and teleportes recently. I have reported them as ‘botters’ in game but it would be nice if there was some feedback to the reproting if action is taken. Maybe give an incentive to reporting them if action is taken, a black lion key for example for each botter reported thats banned?
It may be because you are moving the camera by holding right mouse, which bafflingly is also used to select a mob so if your pointer is over a mob when you move the camera you are likely to select them.
walk away and go back and you should be able to loot it, or set auto loot. Its annoying though.
+1 to fixing right click and the TAB issues.
I killed a Vet spider with someone else that should surely have been classed as a Champ. Took us nearly 10 mins. Got nothing. Zip. And its not like i was not pulling my weight either. Its near the left Skill Point in the caves in Timberland Falls.
For those not willing to follow the link I have dramatised the scene for you:
A lonely non-gender-specific Asura looks out over the cold, desolate tundra. The distant mountains beaconing it to approach like a half recognised old friend that when you approach you remember bullied you mercilessly at school. Near at hand the sound of rushing water, half hidden beneath the packed snow makes its way through the cold land. The Asura thing decides to take shelter from the relentless snow beneath a nearby tree.
WTF! The tree levitates three foot off of the ground, silently hovering as if this is perfectly normal behaviour! Where are its roots? the Asura thinks to itself, then suddenly the world tips up, the land sloping away to its left in such a sudden movement that the Asura barely has time to think.
It makes a grab for the tree to stop the inevitable tumble to its death, but the tree dodges higher and the Asura vainly grabs thin air. Off he tumbles (to the left if looking from 20 feet behind) cursing the hovering tree and its insubstantial and invisible root structure.
The TP user interface is god-awful tbh, like when it does a half buy you have to go to the pickup tab to see how many you got, then go back, resubmit your search to get the rest. It never remembers where you have been or what you were looking at. Worst aspect of the game for me the TP.
