[Sekz] So you come to your borderlands after its all blue, PvDoor some wooden towers, finally get to hills and get repelled countless times, you couldn’t even manage to build anything, then you give up and go to SM after DH manages to punch hole in the outer wall.
You guys may be good in open field (not hard since you run all the OP builds) but when it comes to being able to actually siege a defended fortification, you have a long way too go.
We like the trade , SM for their BLs.

I purposely ruin any 1v1 I see and hope both people get kitten off. Either contribute to WvW or GTFO cause 1v1 doesn’t accomplish squat.

So NSP nice attempt at OL just now, 8 golems and you managed to do 3 maybe 4% dmg to the outer gate before all 8 golems were wiped. Thanks for the lootbags.

BFD 4 whole maps you PvE players have to do. As a WvW player I have to trudge through 31 boring as kitten PvE maps. Stop crying and just do it or do without, or even better yet use the search feature and post to any of the dozens of threads on this issue already.

[Pro] Seriously, thanks for the piles of loot bags in greenvale supply camp today in AR borderlands. You guys just keep rolling out of spawn and dying to try to stop us capping the camp. I was hilarious killing the same ele commander over and over again (when he/she wasn’t running off to the back into the invulnerability to hide that is).
Got my monthly wvw kills in that one fight alone, thanks for being so farmable.

just open your map, zoom out and mouse over the map name, it will give you all the details you need.
No. You’re looking at wvw all wrong. It’s not 4 individual maps. It’s 1 giant map that is divided up for technical reasons. If you want to stop them from using supply then take every supply camp there is.
if that were true then there would be no prohibition against porting golems between maps, so your logic fails right there.

look, you can stand outside spawn and throw the plans back into spawn to be built. unless the enemy is being total kittens and spawn camping 100% of the time for all 3 exits for both servers, it is easy to port supply in and build at the exit threshold.
If a server is good enough to lock down an entire map and not even let a side flip a single camp, then the enemy should have no supply to build. common sense people.
hey OP … can we NOT have PvE in the monthlies anymore. Being forced into PvE for that (and to complete the maps) is probably my least favorite thing about the game, but it feels like such a waste when I look at my tab late in the month and see everything but that full so I feel compelled to trudge through it anyway.

not in its current unbalanced state. however i wouldn’t mind a wvw map added that was 90% underwater including the fortifications. would certainly change the mechanics of wvw and perhaps force anet to give some real thought to balancing the classes underwater
yes because we all need to get the achievements NOW, god forbid anything be long term goals, must have instant gratification these days. Achievements that can be completed in the first week of owning the game are a flippin joke and waste of time even making them.
my main, mesmer, was leveled exclusively in wvw from level 2 to 80, so yes it is possible (took me roughly 10 days). Is it the fastest way? nope, but not impossible.
PS: you DO get xp for every kill you contribute to in wvw, just like PvE. At any level though actual kills are only a small part of leveling XP, rewards for events, story completion, dungeons, crafting all far outweigh kill xp at any level.
If you wanna level in wvw join the zerg and get in on capping camps, towers, control points etc.

You’re hiding in an upgraded tower at thier spawn?

1. yes owning the whole map, its not easy to defend all supply camps as well as towers and keeps and get everything fully upgraded, even the camps.
2. no they keep trying to take supply camps and fail. We defend.
3. yes, thats the whole point isn’t it? this isn’t charity, it’s war.
4. yeah we just picked up and moved a tower to their spawn, surely you’ve moved fortifications around too right? eyeroll
5. Quite the opposite, the server worked hard to defend everything on the map.
Surely porting in and out to bring supply to a map is counter-intuitive to the idea of a vigorous defense. If the enemy cannot take and hold a single supply camp, they do not deserve to be able to build anything on that map. There is a reason why Golems have never been allowed to port between maps, why should the supply to build them be ferried between, the end result is the same.
breakouts just need a couple of tweaks.
1. longer cooldown, having to defend from one every 10 – 15 minutes is too much.
2. The npc commander should get demoralized and despawn if all the players its supposed to be helping walk away and give up. Too many times is the event started and no one even tried to support it.
3. The team winning the match should not get breakouts against any team. Regardless of whether they hold anything on a map or not, they are winning, they don’t need help.
4. The 2nd place team should only get breakout events that would hit fortifications held by the first place team, and 3rd place should be eligible for breakouts against anyone.
The event is supposed to help those servers in need of help, not help the winning side take even more (yes, Devona’s Rest, I am looking at you, 10+ breakouts in a couple hours yesterday and you still failed everytime to take that tower).

Breakout events can be beaten, you just have to be there with sufficient numbers, just like any defensive situation in this game. Unfortunately, most people in this game don’t like to play defense.
As for the claiming and upgrading of these southern points? Well, yeah. There never has been a reward for owning and upgrading a fort and now there is even less reason to do so.
Why would I waste my man power defending against breakout event I would just recap it. I killed the NPC commander many times because we were dominating %100 of the map and it is for sure over powered in normal conditions I would never send my people to defend a tower where the event is, I would just place siege ready to recap it instead.
I don’t want to see any kind of NPC in WvW specially magical immune siege popping ones.
thats typical DR crap commander tactics for you. don’t defend, just recap.
gee imagine low population during one of the biggest holidays of the year and while a PvE event is going on.

Every game that has capes has 95% of the population asking, “can everyone please turn their capes off to reduce lag”. No thanks. We’ve enough issues with culling, imagine having to draw capes in too.

so what class can catch a thief running at +50% speed while stealthed? … none. Most classes can burst to 33% with a skill for a short period but thief has can opt to have permanent 25% signet.

As for the breakout event, its fine, but needs a longer cooldown and should disperse if no players support the NPC for a set time. Triggering the event and having it run while no one from that server tries to help the NPC commander is just pointless.
Just wait until you get a group of 10 mesmers. Instant zerg. Have fun trying to find the real ones in stealth.
once you find the real mesmer ctrl + t and you’ll always know which is real and which is clone, the target will stay on the real one.
Only in Anet land does a class who is stealthed move FASTER while trying to avoid detection, the reality is they have it kitten backwards. Someone trying to hide in shadows and avoid detection should be moving very slow, not insanely fast.
Please remove all PvE from monthly, I hate it interfering with my WvW time.
whats nighttime got to do with it? Thief is stupidly OP at all hours. WvW may as well be renamed TvT as its rapidly heading be nothing but thieves on all sides.
Taking 8 hits from a thief and dying and not being able to target them a single time is asinine. All I managed to see in those 8 hits was 1 dust cloud, not rendered a single time and no matter how many times I bashed the tab key I couldn’t get a target. And no this isn’t a once off and it doesn’t happen with any other class.

Golem rushes LOL, that’s not a real tactic, that’s how people/guilds without tactics buy their way into fortifications.
So [PRO] trys a stealth attack on Greenlake tower and gets repelled by 5 pugs with gate @ 10% and leaves AR BL. 5 minutes later [GASM] shows up at same tower with a golem that gets melted by 1 arrow cart and 1 mesmer while its support team is busy playing with presents on the island, then they come and rapidly die, even though they outnumber the defenders 3 to 1.

power stat is lower on explorer’s vs. beserker’s also.
whenever you want. My current main leveled exclusively from 2 to 80 in wvw, that toon did not do anything pve until long after lvl 80 was reached (mostly just running around grabbing more SP and making sure i had access to dungeons on rare occasions a guildie asks me to help with one).
The higher the level you are the easier it gets for sure but any level can be useful (just follow the zerg/xp/karma train)

Nothing is fair in life when god crated us, some are born rich, some poor, some are born ugly, some pretty, some are healthy, some are not. Arena net personal are just human, they are no god, how can you expect them to fair better than the almighty GOD.
While I agree with the sentiment, leave the religious mumble jumble at the door please.
If you want better badges and loot run around in a party. If you run around solo you will just jack squat for loot and badges, party up, even if you aren’t in the same zerg you will still see better loot drops.
Loot is also DPS dependent, sadly. More damage = more loot. Support classes/team players get shafted again.
Arenanet have always said wuvwuv would be an open world environment with no concern for balance, eg. if a team can’t flip an outpost: so be it.
And now this….
I understand that for casual players this event can be fun, and that ANet want casual players. But the Breakout event is totally contrary to the open-world-ignore-balance principle.
For non-casual players the event will rapidly become mind-numbing. Every few minutes it’s “Breakout @ Lake” and off we go to fight the same array of awfully placed, invulnerable siege against teams that only possess the skill to zerg in the first place.
Remove the Breakout event. Remove it now. Do not wait for match reset.
And BTW Anet, where was the player base analysis for this? Perhaps I missed the months or weeks of preceding info regarding this, but all I saw was “Good news! Wintersday update…”
