PvE should be one server (there is no reason at all the separate them) with multiple overflows created as the need arises, this would make each map more populated too and remove the need for guesting.

Players would optionally join a wvw ‘team’. Since these teams would only be made up of wvw players anet could better manage wvw populations and balnce them much better then servers that could be 90% pve players and 10% wvw, vice verse or anywhere inbetween.

Anet would also then have the option of making teams for different time zones. Players would be able to join more then one time zone team if their play hours cover more then one zone.

The last part I don’t think would even be necessary once strict wvw population controls were possible through the use of splitting wvw and pve pops.

Sorry but when legendaries are sold on the TP and all it takes is for some lazy person to buy it, the entire exercise becomes a joke. Nothing legendary about it. Just a lot of mindless farming for mats/gold. No skill or actual ability needed to obtain one, other then the ability to deal with monotonous grinding.

So u think amassing around 2,000 gold is lazy????

Dude, even players who spend weeks and weeks grinding enough gold to buy a legendary off of the AH deserve these legendaries to a high degree. I do agree its not as special as doing the work to craft a legendary yourself but its still a demonstration of commitment, effort and spending alot of time in GW2.

If someone has bought the gold off a goldseller then theyve broken the rules of GW2 anyway so this possibility cannot even be discussed here. Cheating to get a legendary is still cheating and deserves a ban.

Ofc id prefer that legendaries cannot be bought and sold but its still not necessarily the easiest route to obtain one.

you know you can legally buy gold from anet … just saying. Lazy or not, it still shows a complete lack of skill.

If you truly ‘played a lot’ you would ‘have a lot’. Gold is not difficult to earn in this game.

There should be a separate achievement stat just for skill points acquired not just how many I have on me.

There is. Its called ‘Skillful’. It requires you to have obtained (not spent) 1000 skillpoints over your account lifetime.

All rewards, WXP, coin and karma should have both a hard cap and scale to number of players involved.

For sake of making this easy lets assume the following numbers:
Capping a tower yields 5s + 500 karma + 150 WXP

current system
If 5 people cap that tower GW2 ‘pays out’ a total of 25s + 2,500 karma + 750WXP
If 50 people cap that tower GW2 ‘pays out’ a total of 250s + 25,000 karma + 7,500WXP
if 100 people cap that tower GW2 ‘pays out’ 500s + 50,000karma + 15,000WXP

every player gets 5s + 300 karma + 150 WXP regardless of how many people show up

proposed system
Assuming same rewards as above but with a hard cap of 50 and scalable loot you’d get the following:

GW2 ‘pays out’ a total of 250s + 25,000 karma + 7,500WXP regardless of how many players cap the tower, thats the hard cap

So if 5 people cap a tower they’d each get 50s + 5,000 karma + 1,500 wxp
if 50 people capped that tower they’d get 5s + 300 karma + 150 wxp
if 100 people capped that tower they’d get 2.5s + 150 karma +75 wxp

that shows the scaling

Now what Anet would have to do it figure out where the sweet spot is for the hard cap and what kind of curve the scaling should follow (IMO in the above example 5 people are rewarded too much as well as too much reward for a super zerg so there needs to be a non linear curve to rewards)

A few nights ago was the first time on community teamspeak where I heard a commander specifically NOT want any upleveled players. It didn’t get as bad as an equipment check but that’s where it’s headed.

There are times where it is highly preferred to have people on their best toons and not on low level alts. Reset night is one example or running smaller scale operations where skill and ability is more important then zergball numbers.

I guess I’ll give it a try and see how it goes. I do plan to craft from 50 to 80, and I am a little tired of doing hearts.

Having leveled 2 toons from lvl 1 to 80 exclusively in WvW, one issue you will find is the lack of skill points. You will end up going to PvE to get some. You will also go to PvE to unlock some waypoints if you ever plan on doing anything outside WvW on that toon (guild missions, dungeons, rare farming events, karma armour in orr etc.). If any of those things are even remotely on your radar I would suggest doing some of the exploring/unlocking while lvling so you don’t end up at the end having to do it all at once.

I think everything mentioned so far is exactly right.

Working together as a team should be encouraged and more rewarding.

Capturing a more difficult objective should reward more wxp then capturing an easy one.

How can we do this?

I’d hardly call a 100 man super zerg a team effort. There’s no teamwork just sheer numbers spamming auto attack.

OP you do realise Anet built traps into the puzzle that are made to be used against other people in the puzzle right? Anet always intended this to be a PvP puzzle and designed it as such.
This puzzle is located in wvw not sPvP so don’t expect balanced fights, it won’t happen.

Uh, don’t you have to stand in the lord’s room circle even if you kill the lord with an arrow cart (and don’t NPCs regen if you hit them with siege usually, unless already in combat?)?

yes and yes. Though with enough DPS you could I suppose out DPS the regen NPCs have. Either way you still need to get into the tower and stand in the circle to cap, and it isn’t like the lord is helping you keep the walls or gate up anyway.

To my limited understanding, if a glitch exist inside WvW and players find it, it is the responsibility of Anet to patch it and stop glitches and not the responsibility of players to not use it.

That part you are wrong on, any intentional misuse of ‘glitches’ or ‘bugs’ is grounds for account termination/bans.

Bags should go straight into your inventory, for you to open later (at your leisure).

Can’t be that hard to code in, and will stop the annoyance of either being dead next to a pile of bags, having to stand in one spot while bags spawn after you used some aoe’s on a pile of people as otherwise they spawn behind you , especially when your running on boosted speed/there are 3 zergs/ etc etc.

Of course, as it’s not a pve issue, the chances of anything being done about it or the devs even taking a blind bit of notice is zero.

A. its not an easy thing to do, or they would have done it already.
B. devs have commented on it before.

The fact that SAB has automatically obtained loot proves that they have the ability to give us this option. They just don’t want to for some reason.

Just because SAB just got it, doesn’t mean it won’t be expanded to other areas in the future. Its obviously a new tech for the game since its never been used previously in GW2, so a partial role out into one single inconsequential area to test it would make sense.
Will it make it to other areas? I don’t know, and frankly, neither do you. Its one thing to add tech to an entirely new part of the game, its a whole other thing to add new tech to existing code.

Its called WORLD completion which implies the entire world of GW2. Also this is a legendary feat which implies it should be difficult and challenging.

If this was the case it should include all dungeons and all sPvP maps. Of course it doesnt. if you are stuck in an undermanned WvW server you will likely wait months now for a chance at map completion, and personally I think that is wrong

And how many months did you spend grinding away all the other things you need for legendary? Just because you most likely left it for last doesn’t mean it should be fast. If you had started looking at wvw when you started playing PvE you’d probably ave them done by now.
I’ve 8 toons, all 8 of them have all 4 wvw 100% complete. It’s not hard if you open your eyes and use your brain. My guild is pretty good about mentioning in guild chat that ‘we just capped XXX in wvw, better hurry in if you need the vista/poi’.

EDIT: And yes world completion should have included dungeon PoI. sPvP has no relevance tho, you don’t even use the same rules or gear.

yeah if I click on the ground and no longer have anyone targeted I shouldn’t keep auto attacking. But thats more about this games poor targeting options. I have no issues with confusion.

The catapult don’t have Determined buff which make it invulnerable… Where is the issue?

Yes, those catapults can be hit, in fact, we just destroyed 3-4 of them before we took this screenshot, but guess what happened when we tried to destroy those 3-4? We got wiped by a zerg that was invulnerable.

Set a treb in the tower and be happy…

But the players defending the catapult do. It really is not fair and should not operate like that.

WVW IS NOT PVE, GO AWAY PLEASE. This mentality is what’s ruining WvW, It’s a PvP zone for people who wanna fight the other servers on a large scale, I would even go as far as to have them remove the majority of the Keeps and Towers so we can have less PvEers like yourself. Go back to your boring PvE. You don’t like WvW? Fine, stay away, like I do with PvE. You PvEers are the ones who are bringing about this zerg mentality because the vast majority of you are so afraid to fight someone that you do what all scaredy-cats do and group up until you completely outnumber the opponent to the point they have no chance and then turn and run from anyone not afraid to steamroll you. Once again, WVW IS NOT PVE, GO AWAY PLEASE.

WvW is NOT PvP, it is NOT PvE either. It is BOTH!!!!!!! Stop trying to convince people that your kitten is bigger because you can gank people or have more kills. The intent of WvW is territorial control NOT open field gank fests. You want to see how big your ekitten is, go to sPvP. There is a reason kills net you no points but holding towers and such do. Wake up to reality.

Limit rewards to groups 50 or smaller, 50 man zerg is not unreasonable, but these 80-100 man zergs are just kitten stupid, laggy and boring.

Make holding structures and camps reward more points the longer they are held. This would go some way to making defending worth it.

Make defense rewards larger and scaleable. 20 people defending again 80 should get a much larger reward then 80 defenders pushing off 20 attackers.

Get rid of player damaging gates to contest waypoints. Close the defense event loophole allowing an entire defense force to port in.

staff skill 3. Mine lasts for 13.5 sec with a 12 sec cooldown = perma swiftness. You also have retreat shout and save yourself shout. Thats 3 different ways to give yourself swiftness.
