Hi all, Chris here.

Been playing daily for close to two years and while Ive run all dungeons/fracs available, i want to learn the different tactics in a more organized way, as well as make gold more efficiently.

I mainly play mesmer, thief or war and try to stay close to the meta, although may do some tweaks depending on what runes cost etc. I know my classes pretty well, but i am sure there are more things to learn out there.

Depending on if guild is social or not 100% PVE rep may or may not be ok for me, in wvw i already have a guild.

There was a mail, saying thanks for purchasing. but no items included.
The FAQ does however say the items will be received within “a few hours” – so I guess ill just wait for now.

I bought ultimate today but has so far only received gems and the title.
Will the mini, skins and character slots not be delivered until HoT?

Some people are never happy. I’m sure someone would complain even if the expansion was free.

“first time P1, need help” is probably what i used the most when i was new.

My daily goal is to become better at the classes i play in wvw – thief + mesmer, and that is really the “endgame” for me at the moment – and what i find most fun.

Naked world boss runs are fun too, as it brings back the chaos and challenge that was fun with e.g. teq & tt wurm before they were more or less faceroll.

With the NPE, and the fact that you barely get any trait points (or traits to go with them) until lvl 80, i am not surprised if people rush – especially if they already have a character at level 80.

Sad to say, but leveling up was much more fun before the NPE change.

Is there a maximum?
I know for a fact that ive had 6-10 bonus chests from SW or renowned hearts and as soon as i open one the next one goes above the minimap.

Why do people insist on posting the same questions over and over and still expect a different response?

I like them, and i also like that they seem to be connected with sylvari/pale tree (just look at the shield). I have yet to decide if im picking one up or not, but i think they are very nice

My favorite response is to link “friendship shell”.
It’s usually followed by people blocking me though :’(

Thief same as necro but king of 1v1 ( need a lot of practice to do that ) hard to play in pve, not welcome in dungeon.

Thieves not welcome in dungeons?
Thief is meta for dungeons and nearly all groups that know what they are doing have a thief. Its one of the highest dps in game, and stealths make a lot of skips possible – providing that you know what to do.

It does however take time to learn how to play thief and the low hp/armor makes it very easy to kill if you dont know when to dodge.

www.metabattle.com have the meta builds for thief, which are considered to be the “best”. Not necessarily best damage, but “best” overall.

However, do note that your builds should change between pve/pvp/wvw

Sylvari, as they are a backstabbing kind of race that can’t be trusted

Wasnt closer to the stars one of the titles you gained from the bug a few patches ago? You know the one where you got 39 HOM points by just completing the lvl 1 story?

Thank you for confirming my previous post. Honestly find it sad that you’re not willing to even try to listen or understand the many good answers in this thread, though i am fully aware that you don’t give a kitten about that as my opinions are different than yours.

With your logic i don’t even see why you’re willing to pay anything for dyes – why not have a few ones accessible by all?
Why should precursors be rare when they can be a guaranteed drop from every mob just by a quick change of code?
Why even have a trade post? Everything should be free!

I get it, you don’t like the way the free market works and would rather have a limited market where everyone can get everything without much effort – but i personally find that idea incredibly boring.

Rarity has nothing to do with cost of being produced and doesn’t necessarily mean it will be worth much. If there’s no demand the value will be extremely low.

There is no point to continue the discussion as regardless of how valid points you make, OP Tigaseye neither will or want to understand or listen to them as they are different to his/her own(which of course are the only right ones).

Seems to me, any one colour should be no more than around 20g.

Or just accept the fact that this is how most markets in life works. Perhaps laughable to spend 100G on a dye or 200USD on a designer tshirt but for some it is worth it and they will pay the price for a look.

If you don’t want to pay the price, get something else and if a lot of people do the same the market will adjust to those conditions from the buyers. It is that simple.

Gold is not hard to get in GW2, it just takes some less-than-fun farming.

They are only ‘ridiculous’ because there is high demand, low supply and people are willing to pay. Run a few dungeons and then buy what you want

Even on full zoom out and fov set to maximum, it is nowhere near what can be seen in this video.

Favorite class, favorite mesmer, and favorite character. Don’t know how many different dyes and styles I’ve had back and forth – but this is the one i like the most and I think the style isn’t the most common

How do you get the camera so far out?
Extreme resolution or an app?

I love mesmer – at lvl 80

Until lvl 80, it was a struggle even before anet decided to screw up the traits with having to unlock them by doing events all over the place and having no access to Grandmaster traits until lvl 80 and it certainly isnt better now.

Don’t get me wrong – mesmer is a very fun class to play in the end, but it takes alot of frustration and slow running to get to that point.

Remember that we are talking starter builds – i.e. a build with pretty good dps AND survivability for a user that is new to the class or to use the class in dungeons. DD is higher damage, yes, but if your lack of experience gets you downed a lot then your total damage output will be lower than if you stay alive with a more defensive build such as S/P with IP.

*top-dps
*popular with “pro1337speedclear 2 meta-ele”-dungeon groups
*very helpful in teaching you how to survive better as a thief

SP will be
*easy/easier to use
*high damage output and high survivability at full zerk
*good to go with most casual/pug groups

Just remember to not use #3 pistol whip before ice bow #5 on bosses with 0 defiance and there should be no sad faces from others.

in what way? other than defiance stacks which may mess up frost bow 5 i really don’t see the problem. But then again I’m more experienced with other classes than thief

I’d recommend 56003, with IP as your final trait in critical strikes.
Sure, it sacrifices some damage, but with zerk gear and trinkets and power+precision signet your damage output will still be great with pistol whip (which also is an evade, very helpful for hard hitting enemies).

While I dont know if they are still active (been a while since i saw their ads in LA), there was at least a guild called Lets Grab Big Toys (LGBT) that advertised themselves as, well… lgbt friendly.

An extra week of QA and this comes out of it? Seriously, why did anet just not wait with the major changes and release some nice skins in the meantime. This is probably the most broken patch ever.

My experiences are similar to many others:

Texture loss on TT wurm
Hearing other players shouts/sounds across the map (mostly wvw)
drop in framerate
skill lag
disabled guild chat (sorted by quick fix)
guild chat reset on switching tabs, maps or waypoint
game crash on leaving party
shrinked loading map
bug report bugged
slow camera

overall, a poor game experience tonight and unless i feel like being stationary, i cant even enjoy the guild chat. That week of extra qa really paid off.

You will lose quite alot of damage using traveler runes instead of i.e. pack or ogre.
Id suggest either traiting thrill of the crime or use the signet of shadows.

With hidden killer maybe change more gear into valkyrie?

Traits should be account bound.
Pretty darn annoying to unlock all traits(through playing the game) on my main mesmer and then discover that i had to do it again for the pvp/wvw mesmer i created and leveled to 80 using tomes.

Thieves are more or less top dps in dungeons. Provide massive single target dps and mobility in pvp, and are excellent for roaming in wvw.

What makes you think they would be bottom tier soon?

Hi guys,

Since last post patch update my connection (and a lot of others too it seems) with the log in server has been very unstable. It worked flawlessly for a few hours on Sunday, then DC and unable to log in for hours. Worked flawlessly yesterday, but cant even log in today.

The odd thing is, if I unplug my normal internet and instead use a 3G modem (different ISP) it works just fine.

I have a netgear CG3700, nothing done to the settings, and im starting to think that something in the latest patch made either my router or isp block packets.

Any ideas?
