I know that coding is hard and that some issues only reveal themselves in certain ways, however it would be very appreciated if some basic testing would be done before release.

Please revert to previous code or fix fast. With 1.5 CS, chrono is severely crippled in all parts of the game.

Chronomancer has pretty kitten good mobility though. 25% movement speed without any sacrifice at all.

As with any other game, GW2 has its flaws, but the very common mistake that ppl don’t use the tools available can’t really be called a game issue

How is the colour any problem when the circles look nothing alike?
Red has a huge orb in it, green a strike animation an blue comes in multiples and are much smaller in size. I can understand the colour being an issue when called out on ts perhaps, but that is a calling out issue rather than a game issue.

When it comes to the pillars, it is as simple as memorising where they are or place squad markers. There are so many work arounds I fail to see how this is a problem

Unbound is already infused once crafted, for the other two I don’t think they can be infused.

How do you propose people learn to play when Raid groups are stringent with who they accept? .

Here are three ways:

1. Organise learning run in LFG
2. Organise learning run with current guild(s) you’re in.
3. Join a guild that does raids(some require experience of your class, some open for all)

I personally did 2 and 3 as well as practiced my skills by joining lfg groups.

Then l2p, simple as that.

My example is a demonstration than an entire player can be carried, which means that an entire group of less than optimal players CAN get through. at least 90% is Play-what-you-want friendly and yet ppl complain cause they can’t have it all without any time investment?

A minority has completed the raid as of now(big surprise, not), but I’m confident that a majority can and will complete it with time.

once again we have someone complaining that the rest of the playerbase won’t adapt to them, rather than the other way around. Raids DONT exclude anyone, but people may do so in favour of someone more skilled or with slightly better gear. With an org group vg is likely to go down with 1.5 min left, and thus you can come to the conclusion that at least one player can be swapped for less optimal build/class/gear.

NOTHING prevents you and others that feel this way to start your own groups with your own preferences.

Hi all, looking for some cool EU people to learn, progress and run high level fractals with, preferably a guild. I am however an officer in a large pve guild which means I can’t 100% rep in other guilds, but will ofc rep during activities.

There is really no reason to build for general open world pve combat as its so easy. Most people build for dungeons and in that case, a lot of people use the metabattle.com builds and gear setups.
For most professions Scholar tunes are considered best for personal damage whereas warriors go with strength for the might duration. In terms of sigils I run force+frailty on most sets.

In the beta i ran sword/focus + offhand sword/pistol/greatsword depending on the encounter and really enjoyed it. Shield so far feels a bit off to me so didnt really use it, but it seems like it was useful for at least one of the teams that beat the vale guardian.

Those of you that played around with it a bit more, do you think shield will have its place in the pve meta (dungeons/fracs/raids)?

On topic though, I feel your pain. This was a horrible event to farm in all kinds of ways and required a lot of time from the player (4,5 hrs excluding wait times for just dailies) with generally very low rewards.

Thinking about it a bit further, perhaps the issue is high damage while maintaining high defences in regards to tough/vit and possibly other mechanics as well.

Tongku, I know how to play condi mesmer. It’s still too much “low risk-high reward” for me to enjoy it. It simply doesn’t matter much if I mess up rotations, get stunned or get outnumbered as the chance of me ending up dead is so low.

Agreed, but how you play a condi/power build in pvp/wvw isnt. Im talking about(though people seem to have a hard time understanding it) the risk/reward and playstyle – not whether or not condi is op etc etc.

I’m not complaining about dying to condition builds as a player who mainly use berserker builds. I’m complaining that from my point of view, condition builds tend to be very easy to play. With mesmer I just press a bunch of buttons and then stealth away if I fail, thief I just pop back into stealth, trapper I just place em and watch, and guard – well a few buttons and then everything dies.

For me it’s just far too simplistic and passive in order for me to enjoy it,.
But ofc, no one forces me to play condi.

Ever since the condi buff I’ve seen an increasing amount of condi builds in pvp/wvw and all fights seem to include at least one burn guardian and a few other ones.

As you know, the conditions are extremely powerful against glassy builds and while some may argue that they are broken, it is partially also a adaptation and l2p issue. The main issue I have with using condi builds myself is that it requires very little skill, very little thought and generally very few button presses to pull off and in return you deal massive damage unless its instantly cleared. There is really no trade off at all, apart from it being a passive and boring playstyle.

A part of it being so easy is of course that zerk builds melt in a split second, but i still cant get away from it being passive like trapper/stealth builds or with very few buttons to press like burn guardian, and to me its just too boring to play.

Any thoughts on why this is the case and how to change it for the better?

Mesmer is a pretty tricky class to play efficiently in pve, especially as dps is pretty low compared to other classes. The role of mesmer is therefore typically to provide alot of utility for a group, e.g.
-reflects (feedback, focus)
-quickness/slow(timewarp)
-boonstrip/aoe condi clear (nullfield)
-remove defiance and/or provide cc on trash mobs (F3 shatter, Mantra of Distraction)
-portal skips
-boonshare (if might stacking is reaching only 10-15 stacks, signet of inspiration can bring it to 25 for rest of party).

For PVE in terms of dungeons, youd typically go with Sword + 2 offhands (usually focus and sword or pistol) and a greatsword in case you need to range a target.

For pvp/wvw, you can pick either power or condi depending on what role youd like to fill.
Power to act as a +1 in fights and provide huge burst damage
Condi to be more of a tank and to annoy the enemy.

It is incredibly annoying to fight a condi mesmer and extremely tough on a power build, but the issue i have with condi mesmer is that i find it to be a very passive and boring playstyle.

DnT did full condi run of Arah P2. Totally viable, but as with any other build it requires people to know how to play and how to avoid getting hit.

You do not get to choose the stats on the new item that comes out. Stats depend entirely on the exotic insignia/inscription you put in forge with the original piece.

I never understand threads like these, as you somehow feel that everyone else should accept your build and style while you don’t do the same for others.

Meta is fine(but requires some know how), so are other builds as well. What makes the difference is skill and synergy. Lack both and no build in the world will save you.

I could write half an essay about the trade offs you’ll do by taking specialisations but I guess a simple “L2P” will do. Neither of the classes you mention are unbeatable, an mesmers in particular are pretty vulnerable – especially to conditions.

My suggestion is to learn your opponent and research how to counter. It’s not impossible in any kind of way

Each balm can give 9 elementals/bags which sell for about 4s each. Farming for an hour with a decent train should give 15-20g worth of bags

ToT-Farming (sell bags)
SW chest farming (salvage light gear, sell all but T6 mats)
Dungeons with org group
SW event farming

I believe the legendary effects disappear if you use any kit/bundle – but perhaps that wasn’t the case here?

I have the rainbow unicorn finisher as well as the revenant finisher unlocked, however after the patch they are no longer selectable in the finisher menu and instead show as locked.

zodiac goes extremely well with the blue aura from sunrise. It’s has been removed from gemstore though

You should get reward chest for each tier you do during a day (1-10, 11-20 etc) and if you didn’t then something must have gone wrong. Perhaps you exited the fractal too early?

I used to play alot of thief prior to the 23/06 patch but now i just find myself getting rekt by conditions, especially at mai trin and other condition heavy encounters.
The build on metabattle offers ZERO condi removal unless you change heal, and even then the removal is way insufficient given constant reapplication of bleeds.

I could of course swap trickery for shadow arts during condition heavy encounters, but id still like to know how a really good thief would handle it? Is the answer perhaps as easy as positioning?

In case you didnt know, you can preview all available armor in the wardrobe.
There is a pirate captain outfit afaik, but that might not be what you’re looking for.
