no point whatsoever, they mostly drop vendor trash or no good stuff at all. We all know these champion bosses are a bear to kill, and the rewards are not worth the effort at all. Which = annoyed players = a less player game population.
Totally agree. I just run past them now.
The duration of the skill is shown as 10 seconds and only gives 5 seconds of protection.
There’s no reason to revisit the areas you’ve done. I think they need to give incentives for people to return to the areas.
They need to make mult-tier heart vendors. First time you finish it the heart turns yellow and you get to buy something from NPC. If you go back, and redo the quest and help the NPCs, the heart might turn red, green, blue, purple etc, and should all have better rewards that you can buy, like dyes, maybe new armor skins, hats, hair pins, weapon skins that you can apply dyes, or maybe even one time temporary things like bulk buying certain foods for cheap etc.
That is good design.
the colour of the heart could fade over time as well so you can keep going back to do them. And every time you do you recieve a nice reward. Something like 3 U-dye or 1 R-dye. Fine transmutation stone…. etc.Something people generally need.
Not some green weapons the only thing they’re good for is vendoring.
This would make me want to wander slowly through lower level zones, as I did on my first play through.
Excellent suggestion.
Same problem but the workaround does not work. It crashes as soon as the cut-scene ends, so there’s no time to interact with the treb.
Same here.
I too dislike Trahearne…
My solution. Options, Audio, Dialog Volume: 0. Skip all the cut scenes and only complete story mode above 50 If short of 80.
I purchased the game to , in part, play my story; Not Twigmans.
This would be a very good addition to the game
What a complete SHAMBLES.
Completely out of order action. I have as much right as the next paying purchaser of this game to get a few reasonable drops.
What the hell is wrong with getting a few good drops? It was a game when advertised. Now it’s City traders, Taxes, Inflation, Criminals and Poverty.
Corrected for clarity.
It’s not a bug, they made it like that so people couldn’t be entertained by getting a good drop from the boss chests.
Still waiting for my reward for saving Tyria
The attacks on legitimate player concerns make this forum a VERY poor place to visit.
It’s a shame no one nerfs the insulting posters as quickly as they nerf player fun in game.
Getting sick of nerfs that reduce my fun.
p.s. Never had an Exotic drop in 300 plus hours.
No credit is due. Elementalist is a wet kipper profession. It should never have been released.
Chill is strong and the Elementalist is better off than you make it seem.
The description of Air may be wrong, but it doesn’t really matter. Sure, they can change that one description and you can play another class that would appeal to your lower skill level?
How about you not being insulting of the OP. He/She has a valid opinion.
I agree on this. It’s really bad to have it just for town clothes.
Completely Agree.
No point in buying town clothes for those few times I will be standing around.
ROFL.
Holding my Victory Token tightly, so A-net could’nt take it away again, I rushed to Fort Trinity.
It’s a farce. I can’t believe it,
You guys are dreaming; Ref: Guild Wars: Trick-or-Treat Bag/Drop rate ranged from 20% to 5% with nothing Bling being given. Christmas was pretty much the same, again nothing Bling. The only note worthy Bling was:
Miniature Polar Bear – 0.02% ( refer to the GW1 wiki for validation )
Miniature Celestial Dragon – 0.5% ( refer to the GW1 wiki for validation )
I’m not saying the good stuff will not be there, just if it’s good, Arena-net has a long history of making sure it’s exclusive.
Can a leopard change its spots
The events do need to be on a random timer. The rewards are pathetic. As a casual player I am saddened to see that I get vendor trash from the chests.
I have lost interest in doing these ‘special’ parts of GW2 as they are simply not worth it.
Completely agree with the OP.
If the game is too hard, people will complain it’s too hard.
If the game is too easy, people will complain it’s too easy.It should be easy to take down an average mob, but not to the extent of pressing ‘1’ and then leaning back in your chair.
This.
its basically how it is on some of the major boss events you don’t even have to do anything and still get paid 5 silver or more that’s to easy.
The combat is lifeless.
Play half an hour of Borderlands 2 and then play GW2, you can feel your brain switching off.
Whatever was changed between the Betas and launch should be reverted.
This is the opinion of a casual PVE player

No. You get vendor trash.
When you buy from the game with real money the transaction is handled by PlaySpan.
This is serious.
Oh, and Heroes who simply kill the dragons will have to make do with Vendor trash.
IMHO, a Legendary weapon should be the reward for a Legendary act in Tyria. Not from beating the TP, farming like a bot or throwing stuff in the Mystic Toilet. But everyone kills Zhaitan… how legendary is something that everyone has? (BTW devs did say that they are bringing unique skins for killing Z with a retroactive fix for people that run PS already).
As for the RNG part… why so much focus on that?.. the feat takes a lot of stuff… world exploration alone seems exhausting. As with many heroes in RL feats of greatness take planning. strategy, determination, courage, hard work and a little LUCK.
Getting your legendary will take planning, strategy, determination, courage, hard work and a little Luck. I see no difference. Not everyone will have them because life is like that.
I would never suggest getting a Legendary for Zhaitan. GW2 branded Stress balls would be good there.
The price of the weapons are driven by the supply and demand law. Its price keep risingbecause people can afford them at that price range. This is call infation.
If others can afford them and you cant, well, tough luck.
You think the high price part would make it legendary, yet making the weapons an option for most people as your title imply is legendary?
This is also why anet place the dr system in game. It is to prevent infation so the weapons wontbe 1000g by now. But i guessu are also one of those guys who complains about not getting enough gold because of dr?
O and please dont say gold sellers. Not many people can afford 400 usd to buy gold to get an ingame weapon.
Plenty of players can afford and are prepared to pay 400 USD for the ‘BEST’ weapons in the game. For proof, you only have to look at other, existing, MMO, such as Perfect World, where 800 USD has been paid for pets.
The Legendary Carrots of GW2 are going to be a major cause of inflation. The rich farmers and traders will have them to waggle about, The Casual Sheep will pay more and more for the parts in the hope of gaining one, and GW2s economy will go the same way that all other MMO have gone.
Oh, and Heroes who simply kill the dragons will have to make do with Vendor trash.
IMHO, a Legendary weapon should be the reward for a Legendary act in Tyria. Not from beating the TP, farming like a bot or throwing stuff in the Mystic Toilet.

there are way too many effects
I think this is literally killing the game, or at least, its potential.
I would really like to know, Arenanet, how on earth are we supposed to care about the animations, anticipate moves, dodge properly and most of all execute combos with our teamates. How could this game offer any serious PVE or PVP content ? Most of the time, ennemy players/bosses/mobs/doors are hidden behind this huge ugly mix, this is not fun.
I will be the first to admit I am an Anet Fanboi and Whiteknight…but by the Six Anet listen to this man/woman! tone down the effects! or give me a slider so I can do it myself…in every game I have ever played (back to EQ1) I have turned off the Particle effects as to me they are nothing more than a distraction. I do understand with the combo field aspect of the game that turning them off is not in my best intrest but please please please let me turn them down….WAY down
The effetcs are nice alone, but they’re not working together, AT ALL So i’ll just finish with these 3 words that are really important imo… less is more.As a picture is worth a thousand words, here’s what i’m talking about :
I can only agree. I can’t see what is going on so just face roll the keyboard. Sadly I am finding myself drifting back to GW1
(edited by Cina Reas.6938)
…
BUT THATS THE BEAUTY OF IT! ITS ALL VIABLE!!!! PLAY HOW YOU WANT. NO DPS, NO HEALS, NO TANKS. NOW kitten ABOUT RANGER BEING BAD WoW BABY!
What total drivel.
It is clearly not all viable. If you take a ‘full part’ in any dungeon team, you as a ranger, do not go forward waggling your rubber sword in the face of a mob.
If you are also faffing about at the back trying to get to the long bow range sweet spot your also a waste of space.
The short bow was the most viable weapon for a ranger, It is now less so. It was nerfed for no good reason.

Thief may or may not be overpowered, but here is the real problem. Everyone stacks maximum damage equipment and traits. When you stack damage and no defense of course you will die in 2 seconds. I play a defensive Guardian and guess what, I have never been killed 1v1 or even 2v1. It might take me a bit longer to kill someone since I can’t burst them down but who cares? It’s about surviving, not getting the biggest crit number.
The OP has not given details of Profession or Build and you assume wrongly that, ‘Everyone stacks maximum damage equipment and traits’.
The point being raised is that the Thief, as is, is being allowed to effectively Gank other players.
Nice Tom. Full Marks for adding to the community
13 days with a second account and I still cannot post gold that I sent to it, back to my first account to buy some good armor.
5 Gold is all I’m trying to transfer.
Anyone know anything about this unpublished restriction.
I’ll say thanks when I get my reward for killing Zhaitan.
Age brings experience
I completely agree with the OP, what he is missing though is that the skip button should only be available after completing the tutorial once, kinda like BL2.
That would work. A once through would showcase the effort that went into the environment and give the visceral reaction to the mini boss.
I was amused to see that you don’t need to take part in that fight and still get full reward. Maybe I should join the Order of Whispers with this character.
After a while I began to wonder why I was killing Tamini and saving townsfolk.
There was no challenge. I watched my HP drop at a snails pace but destroyed the ‘dangerous’ centaurs in an instant (1,1 and 1). I wondered; Was this even the same game I played in Beta, the game I paid money for, the mmo I felt so passionately about playing?
Then I notice another, ‘unforgiveable’ change. NO drops.
Is Shaemoor now nothing more than an animated beginers guide. It was part of my characters development, the begining of my adventure. Now it is, well, nothing. There will never be a ‘Pre’ community in this game.
I am not so brainless as to need to play through this Shaemoor more than once, thus I walked my character through the garrison and sat under a tree. I watched, for a few moments, the whole sad intro end.
I will never swing a sword again in Shaemoor, but I will tell others to just run through the garrison and not bother wasting time there.
Should we not have a button to skip this sort of content?
It’s simply an inadequate ending to the whole effort. Therefore I will not bother with it on future characters.
After all Trahernia is the hero and gets the sword. I’m sure he can chop down the next dragon without me
Dear Content Designers.
Please refer to Guild Wars, wherein the ‘Deldrimor Talisman’, ‘Amulet of the Mists’, ‘Book of Secrets’, ’Droknar’s Key’, ‘Imperial Dragon’s Tear’; Are hero rewards.
A ‘Sack of Random Junk’ is not a fit reward for a hero.
I cannot imagine playing a second hero through the Orr portion of the story to end up wishing I was back in Tyria.
I paid for a game to play through.
Each day I attempt to finish the story. Each day I find the door to ARA shut.
This is unacceptable.
11 Days and still no progress on the trash bag reward! But no matter; Players on Gunners can’t even get to Zhaitan to complete the story.
Title says it all.
Level 80 Ranger
6 for the game.
10 all the way to Orr.
But; Everything about Orr stinks of grind. Low drops, OP mobs, poor repetative graphics and nonsensicle events. Even the personal story goes to hell.
For the love of all that is good in the land, plz shut up vendors!

Yes! lets reduce the atmosphere for everyone. I certainly don’t want to change the volume at my end while I stand crafting.
Honestly I don’t think some posters have ever been to a public market.
A word from Anet would be appreciated, as things are I am advising everyone I know to NOT finish the story.
It is a sad state of affairs when the developers are more concerned with angering a few dungeon farmers than actually fixing a core aspect of the game.
Trahearne says NO. You have not earned the right to enjoy your story.
So Guild Wars 2 is not worth finishing!
Never saw this sort of problem in GW1
