Tyria, Underworld
Yeah I’ve noticed this too
Tyria, Underworld
Update 3 – 6 August 2013
“Runes of Perplexity now correctly apply confusion to the enemy target instead of the player.”
Ahahahahahahaha. I love you ArenaNet but I think your QA team needs a bit of a shake up. LOL ;-)
Tyria, Underworld
Well, you’re not supposed to change the skin of every weapon when you go it dropped, just because you can.
You’re not? Who stated this? :-P
I wouldn’t want my equipment to be blue because I used blue skins on my exotic stuff, but I also wouldn’t want my legendary to be exotic because I changed its stats.
I understand which is why I think legendaries should always retain their purple colour. But in other cases, I think item colour should represent stat quality.
Tyria, Underworld
It’s not my fault in that there is no way for me to apply the skin and yet for the text colour to remain reflecting the stats quality.
I do not understand the logic that applying an ‘exotic’ skin to a ‘rare’ item should make the resulting item ‘exotic’. It is confusing and misleading imo. The rarity of the skin is reflected in how cool the item looks, the quality of the stats should be reflected in the colour of the text.
Going to the Mystic Forge and manually checking the real quality of my items is not really a decent solution to the problem, although at least it is an option.
Tyria, Underworld
Although on the surface of it, it might sound like a good idea, I’m not convinced.
One of the aims of Guild Wars 2 as an evolution of Guild Wars 1 was that it would simplify the skill system and focus on a reduced number of skills that require player skill to use effectively.
I fear that adding in a choice of weapon skills would just complicated matters and would mean the developers will once again start to struggle to ensure that skills are balanced.
Cheers, Ben
Tyria, Underworld
Most of the time, an item’s text colour represents the quality of the item’s stats. i.e. a rare quality sword with rare quality stats has yellow text colour.
However, sometimes when using a ‘skin’ item, (e.g. the Zenith weapon skins – http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Zenith_weapon_skins) it seems that the colour of the skin overrides that of the item.
This is confusing because now I have a load of ‘Transmuted’ weapons with an orange text colour and yet they are not exotic quality stats. Later I intend to replace them with exotic weapons but I will have to remember that they are not exotic stats already.
My suggestion is that applying a skin to an item should not change the text colour of it so it’s easier to know what stat quality it has.
Cheers,
Ben

Anyone know the answer to this? I’m really struggling on the JP and I’m not sure if I can give it a break for a while or whether I need to get it done before tomorrow if I want the exotic shoulders.
Thanks.
Tyria, Underworld
Currently, the first time a character completes the ‘Not So Secret’ Jumping Puzzle, he/she is rewarded with some exotic lvl 80 shoulders.
Is this reward staying around after the Sky Pirates of Tyria release comes to a close (July 9, 2013?) or at this point will the end chest behave like that of regular jumping puzzles?
Cheers,
Ben

The music doesn’t work properly for me in Dragon Ball … after I die for the first time, it plays the ‘defeated’ music on a loop.
When you fix this, how about making the music the Dragon Bash theme instead (the one that is played on the character select screen)? It’s a really funky piece of music and I think it would suit the action/arcade feel of Dragon Ball.
Cheers!

Hey,
I was really excited to hear a long while back that ArenaNet were planning on releasing an API for GW2 but until I read this Twitter post this morning…
https://twitter.com/GuildWars2/status/347512420920610816
… I had no idea that this forum even existed and therefore that the API was live! I am now excited to get started on my first GW2 app :-) Perhaps ArenaNet could post about the API somewhere more public (e.g. on the blog) to inform more developers?
Cheers,
Ben

Guild Wars 1 featured an excellent connection monitor in the form of a little circle that was coloured red, yellow or green depending on the quality of the network connection and showed the ping value and fps when the cursor was on it.
Please please can we see this return for Guild Wars 2! Thanks
Tyria, Underworld
When part 1 finishes and part 2 begins (with the launch of “Last Stand at Southsun”), will the part 1 achievements and rewards (e.g. the Fervid Censer) still be available?
Tyria, Underworld
The title says it all really. All other chat text is preserved when character swapping except guild chat. Please do not clear guild chat.
I thought at first this might be as a result of effectively ‘unrepresenting’ and then ‘rerepresenting’ but you can do that whilst on the same character and guild chat does not disappear.
Cheers,
Tyria, Underworld
If we put him in he will just loop “YEEEEEAH BOOOOI!” over and over at maximum volume.
LOL
Tyria, Underworld
When will the super skins no longer be available from Moto in exchange for Bauble Bubbles?
Tyria, Underworld
I’m using Firefox 20.0 but I can no longer reproduce the issue. Has it been fixed?
Tyria, Underworld
When cycling through the pages of the leaderboards at https://leaderboards.guildwars2.com , the selected region keeps changing back from “Europe” to “North America” as I click " < Prev " and " Next > "
Tyria, Underworld
I am also getting motion sickness problems playing SAB. I have never really experienced it before so before I read this thread I wasn’t sure what it was.
Tyria, Underworld
I guess it’s too late for ArenaNet to do anything about this but an official apology from them wouldn’t be too much to ask
Tyria, Underworld
The “mine cart” bonus zone of World 1 reminds me of the bonus level on Street Fighter 2 where you had to smash up the car
Tyria, Underworld
I agree. I had already completed both the PvE monthly and PvP monthly before the update and thus I’m unable to earn the ‘bonus’ 10 laurels which seems really unfair :-(
Tyria, Underworld
Maybe some of the abilities could be purely cosmetic?
Pve’rs would QQ
Cosmetic effects that only apply when in WvW, maybe?
Tyria, Underworld
Maybe some of the abilities could be purely cosmetic?
Tyria, Underworld
Dear ArenaNet,
Please don’t make WvW abilities too strong. It would be sad if, in a year or so, it becomes really hard for skilful but newbie WvW players as other veteran WvW players are all a lot stronger with their unlocked abilities.
Thanks.
Tyria, Underworld
OK so.. “subscribe” still doesn’t work. This is a vital feature for a forum like this. Please ArenaNet get someone on this asap. Thanks.
Tyria, Underworld
I’m a guild leader of a small guild and I’m really pleased that ArenaNet have added in these as they kill two birds with one stone..
1. they let us have a taster of guild missions
2. they give us a way to earn influence faster so that we can do the proper guild missions.
Well done ArenaNet :-)
Tyria, Underworld
It seems ArenaNet have answered…
https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/guild-missions-a-good-foundation/
Tyria, Underworld
I agree, jaka. It’s sad that Anet seem to be making life hard for smaller guilds.
Tyria, Underworld
Flame & Frost : The Razing
https://www.guildwars2.com/en/the-game/releases/march-2013/
says:
“Bounty Hunt Training missions are perfect for a new or small guild looking to work their way up to bigger challenges. "
As a member of a smaller guild, I’m looking forward to these. Can we have any more information about how much influence we will require to unlock these and/or what level is required of what category?
Thanks,
Tyria, Underworld
I’ve been thinking quite a bit about Berserker but I thought about something else. If you decided you wanted to focus on survival and therefore Toughness, Vitality and Healing Power, wouldn’t this have a similar %-age multiplying effect and make you a lot more tanky than someone with exotic rather than ascended gear?
Tyria, Underworld
I thought this idea would be popular. Am I missing something?
Tyria, Underworld
As a Warrior, my shouts miss when I am blinded…
Ahahahahaha! Brilliant! xD
Tyria, Underworld
The topic title says it all really. If I lay a trap, it seems rather stupid that if I am blind when the trap is triggered, the trap “misses.”
Tyria, Underworld
Please please pleeeeeeease lower the influence cost for the early guild missions. In particular, I think it is very harsh on small guilds that…
a) they have to reach level 5 in ‘Art of War’
b) then have to pay 30,000 influence
…for ‘Guild Bounties Unlock’.
You say that you want to allow people to play the game as they choose. Well I choose to be a part of small, close-knit guild and it would be nice if we could experience a taster of the new guild missions together without having to wait such a long time.
Thanks for reading,
Ben
Tyria, Underworld
I see that this has been moved from Bugs forum to Suggestions but I kind of think that this is a bug really. When you see your character attempting to revive empty space where a player was and will continue doing so indefinitely, it kinda seems like a bug.
Tyria, Underworld
When a downed/defeated player uses a waypoint/leaves the game, anyone reviving him/her should automatically stop doing so.
Tyria, Underworld
I think it would be cool if, when hovering over a structure on a WvW map, it was possible to view how long the structure had been held by that world.
This would be particularly fun for guilds as they could try and defend their guild’s structure so that it remains held for as long as possible.
What do you guys think?
Tyria, Underworld
The topic title says it all really. As a ranger, I would like an easy, quick way to target my pet (so I can quickly see what boons/conditions/etc he/she has.)
It would be cool if right clicking the pet portrait in the skill bar (to the left of the ‘swap pet (F4))’ button) would achieve this.
An alternative would be for me to see what boons/conditions/etc my pet has all the time by showing them above the left hand side of the skill bar (perhaps make this an option that can be enabled)
Cheers,
Tyria, Underworld
ArenaNet – pleeeease make tier 1 guild missions cheaper in terms of influence cost so that smaller guilds can try them out
Tyria, Underworld
OK I see your point. I’m now tempted to go for a Beserkers Ascended Amulet with my 30 laurels but then I’m not fond of “glass cannons” so I’m not sure.
Tyria, Underworld
Have you tried fighting in Queensdale as a lvl 80 player with exotic gear? It’s pretty easy. Personally I am very thankful for down-levelling as without it, I probably wouldn’t even bother returning to the beginner areas as they would be waaaay too easy
Tyria, Underworld
It looks visually a lot like a combo blast finisher. Could this be added?
Tyria, Underworld
Seems to me people are forgetting that you can belong to more than one guild. Keep your small one to do the same stuff you’ve been doing with your friends. Join a large one for the Guild Missions. I would imagine that the guilds that have been going for quantity rather than quality wouldn’t even notice that sometimes you’re not around
But what if you want to do the missions as your small guild? ArenaNet say that they want Guild Wars 2 to be about playing the game in the way you want to play it (which is a great principle) but I don’t really want to be part of a massive guild just to play missions. Why are they excluding small guilds from this content in this way?
Tyria, Underworld
I would be really interested to hear Anet’s response to the feelings expressed in this thread
Tyria, Underworld
No response from ArenaNet?
Tyria, Underworld
You took the words right out of my mouth. +1
Tyria, Underworld
…
The net result is an increase in damage output of : 1.08*1.08*1.08*1.08 = 36% more damage.
Woah – really?!
Tyria, Underworld
OK so I now have 30 laurels, enough to buy an ascended amulet. When I think about it, maybe it’s not so bad that ascended gear has 175% strength compared to exotic’s 165% as that only gives it a (175/165 × 100 = 106.0..) 6% improvement over exotic.
However, this does raise questions as to the point of crafting at a high level .. surely the demand for crafted lvl 80 jewellery items will drop dramatically as I don’t think people will pay money for exotic jewellery when ascended stuff is better and not that hard to obtain. This will extend to the other crafting professions once ascended weapons and armour becomes available.
What do you think?
Tyria, Underworld
I would like to add my voice to the crowd of others to suggest that the ‘mouseover’ text for this achievement needs to mention that the counter resets upon zoning
