I don’t know, my stance on it is twofold.
A) If you’re a completionist, you want everything, you should be willing to pay for it. Seriously, you cannot be a completionist and a cheapskate, they are opposites. I, for example, am the dirtiest of dirty cheapskates, and I know that I am not going to get everything because of that. The ‘gotta catch em’ all’ attitude is expensive with real world hobbies, why would you expect it not to be with digital ones?
B) However, because this was a secret recipe people had to discover, a lot of people have lost the ability to get everything they want even if they are willing and able to do so, because they unknowingly sacrificed a frame that can’t be replaced when they should have saved it. This needs to be rectified.

There are two striped-candy mint icons on the map in the center plaza. One is a vendor, the other is the entrance to Tixx’s ship, which is a five-man instance by the way, so bring a group.
You missed it by a minute, the airship just left LA at 11:00 sharp and arrived in Hoelbrak. But it will be repeatable again once he’s visited every city. However it’s still unknown whether or not it will give the same rewards on repeats.
Can anybody at ANet answer this?
I would also like to know this.
We had one where it spawned inside one of the buildings, had to destroy the little town to find it. You might be having the same problem.
Try playing one of the classes that has sucked since release and hasn’t even received a single real buff yet. You at least HAD some time on top, some of us haven’t even had that yet.
I don’t like RNG and completely sympathize with you, but your claim that it’s going to kill the game is ridiculous exaggeration and weakens your argument.
I remember watching my brother kill an elite mob in WoW that spawned once an hour, over and over and over again. He was trying to get a super rare mount that it dropped. I looked up the drop rate percentage and calculated for him how many times he would have to kill that thing to get the rare mount under the worst circumstances, it was 137000. At a spawn rate of once an hour, he could spend the next fifteen years trying to get it.
If RNG could kill a game, some of the most popular games of all time would have been stillborn.
It’s pretty fun, but man is it difficult for some of us. The Mad Clocktower was easier for me, and I don’t consider myself to be particularly good at jumping puzzles. I think I was born without a sense of rhythm…
I thought you can get all five by buying extra mats off the TP? I only plan on making one mini then what’s left will be up for sale (or up for grabs if anyone wants to trade me anything for it).
Bought the princess wand for my guardian too, along with the slingshot for my ranger. My only concerns are that you can hardly see the slingshot on Asuras. It almost looks as if I have no weapon equipped on the poor little guy. :P
Boy will that ever be confusing in WvW…
“He’s unarmed, GET HIM!”
Well, if you’re an Ele
Armor of Earth>Open The Box> Earthquake>Churning Earth>Ring of Earth>Switch to fire>Burning Speed>Ring of Fire>Drake’s Breath
Then just dodge roll twice while the condition damage does it’s magic and they’re pretty much all down to one hit or already dead.
Without exception condition builds are lower damage than pow/crit damage builds in pvp, they’re still useful, but their damage is undeniably lower. And confusion is the lowest damage condition of them all. Yes, it’s somewhat annoying to see your health damaged because you are using abilities, but even the fastest attacking characters will take less damage from confusion than they will from an equal amount of bleed stacks.

It’s supposed to mimic traditional Christmas formal-wear, which means a suit and coat for guys and a dress for girls.
I play an engineer and the grenade kit was completely ridiculous, it needed a nerf even if they didn’t fix the sigils problem.
If you were one of the engineers that just ran around abusing the grenade kit, you deserve to be disappointed. Yes the Engineer class is currently broken, it isn’t the only class, but abusing the one area broken in your favor is not a solution.
I sense someone got owned by the grenade kit. The only use of it was for tagging it was for too low damage to be useful it needed buffing not nerfing.
You’re senses betray you young padawan. I’ve never had a particular problem with the grenade kit, you win some you lose some, and I personally prefer the Bomb Kit. But in small group skirmishes, WvW or SPvP, it was not even remotely balanced. You basically had to regulate your entire teams positioning constantly just to keep from taking massive condition and power damage, possible, but not something people should have to do in lowbie PvP. And the skill requirement was not high enough to restrict it to upper PvP. And to boot, it still was good enough in single target damage to hold it’s own in 1v1.
And tagging? Really? They don’t balance the game for PvE content they balance it for PvE, it’s usefulness in tagging mobs or DPSing in PvE is irrelevant.
Anybody who is able to take an objective view of the engineer class could see that this kit was out of control, yes the rest of the kits are pretty much kittened. But having ‘one skill to rule them all’ is far worse for a class in the long term than having a myriad of underpowered skills. They’re working on it, this is not the only class that is seriously broken, practice some patience.
(edited by Conncept.7638)
All I can say is that you guys screwed up. I can’t recall a single Engineer who is happy with the recent class changes. Some of the fractal instances are broken. There’s numerous bugs as well.
Especially the classes. Whatever idea you had in mind for them does not seem to work. With all the things that seem to be wrong, from class balance to gem prices, I urge you to NOT add any more content for the time being. Instead, sit down, look over again what you’ve done, work out solutions, give us the time to testplay them. You need to fix what’s broken before you start building something new or the entire system will eventually be flawed in many places. Also please hire a new team for class development. Things did not go well. I mean, explain to me why Engineer is described as a class with huge versatility at the cost of damage while Elementalist is described as the most versatile class while not having to pay in any negative sides to damage?
That just doesn’t make sense. When your classes no longer follow your own class descriptions it’s time to understand that you’ve goofed up. So STOP thinking about new content, sit down, fix stuff, THEN move forward. Please, for all our sakes.
Umm if you think the elementalist doesn’t suffer because of it’s ‘perceived’ (and in my opinion falsely so) versatility, you don’t know the class very well.
(edited by Conncept.7638)
Yeah, so? I’ve seen the same thing happen to Elementalists and Necros. We just don’t complain nearly as much as the Engineer community apparently…

“I don’t need to wait for my dodge to regen”
So many times…
You’re playing it wrong OP and let the flaming commence
BTW how the hell am i playing it “wrong”? im playing it how i play any other game, to have fun and enjoy myself. Would you like to enlighten me how to play it right almighty one?
Not our fault you’re a no-lifer. You’re done everything there is to do, go find something else and quit whining about a perfectly fine game just because you rushed through it too fast to enjoy it.
Yes insulting me calling me a “no-lifer” is really mature mate
Thing is i have a job and even go the gym every week but i managed to get 3 80’s in exotics in a month. I didn’t rush through it at all, and people can power level to 80 in a day or 2 with crafting alone. You will be surprised how people can achieve more things than you in a short time, don’t be mad.
If you don’t like your lifestyle, change it, don’t complain about other people being frank and truthful with you about it. If you have three level 80s in full exotics after three months, you play this game far more than your average player, to the point that there is no way you don’t neglect real world passtimes and responsibilities. And if you don’t like people telling you so, then either change or learn to like it.

Title says it all:
1: The lost shore event was a complete failure and a botched work. Why ?
– The southsun cove map is not a real map (at least in my opinion) because you can’t explore it and feel satisfied when you reach 100% completion.
– Karka items such as shells can’t go to your bank via the deposit collectibles button
– Karkas are not even considered as a type of enemy. I MEAN WHAT THE HELL ? You kill a karka and it doesnt add to your daily “kill variety”. This is horrible.
– Some friends got a karka chest mailed event if they attempted the event and looted the “real” one.2: When jumping, your hardware performance can reduce your jump length. For instance if I’m on the edge of a mountain and about to jump, and my FPS suddenly decreases then my jump will be shorter. It’s a proof of terrible coding and probably the same thing that allows bots to teleport across maps. And if they didn’t do this, either there would have to be way more loading screens, or it would take up ten times the hardware resources it currently does. How they have it is the best option.
3: Loot rates are stealth nerfed everyday.
4: Some classes are still bugged to hell and way overpowered/underpowered and nothing is made to fix them.
5: Over 9000 things are bugged like events in Orr and some bosses/mobs. Such as risen sharks one shooting you from 30 miles away underwater
Discuss ?
1. Your opinion, I loved the event. Additionally, adding in 100% map completion was a mistake in the first place, it gives people an excuse to run through areas to ‘complete’ them when in reality there are dozens of events they didn’t participate in, and never will because of this stupid completionist system.
2. This happens in most every online game with large drops and jumps, I’ve never had this happen with a short jump, if you do, something is probably wrong with your configuration. And this happens because the game has to calculate where your character can possibly go next at any moment so that it can have the area ready to render when you get there. As you can imagine, the computer isn’t programmed to assume you are going to jump to your death at any moment.
3. Dozens of people have run tests on this, and only ONE has ever come to the conclusion that drop rates have been nerfed, and his test was a joke only a complete idiot would take seriously.
4. WoW was still clearing out launch bugs when they released their first expansion, people are just being pithy and impatient and they need to sit down and shut up.
5. See number four

I love running people through the newbie areas, but unfortunately my server is full every day until at least 1 AM, so you’re probably not going to be on mine.
Yes, it’s true that opening all of these armors to every race will result in uniformity, but currently most T1 and T2 cultural sets are just… well… crappy. Actually, most of the armor sets doesn’t strike me with anything too amazing. I am not trying to sound like an kitten, just look at the sets from Guild Wars 1 – they are gorgeous. Either they fired some very talented people, or the designers just got swept in a tasteless direction. In order to back up my argument – here are some examples:
Necro – http://wiki.guildwars.com/images/b/b9/Necromancer_Elite_Profane_armor_m.jpg
Warrior – http://wiki.guildwars.com/images/9/97/Warrior_Elite_Gladiator_armor_f.jpg
Monk – http://wiki.guildwars.com/images/c/cd/Monk_Labyrinthine_armor_f.jpg
Another necro – http://wiki.guildwars.com/images/0/04/Necromancer_Elite_Necrotic_armor_m.jpg
One of my top favorites, Water ele – http://wiki.guildwars.com/images/8/8c/Elementalist_Elite_Iceforged_armor_f.jpgAnd then, the FoW armor sets (later ranamed to the less tasteful ‘Obsidian’ Armor)
Ele – http://wiki.guildwars.com/images/5/5a/Elementalist_Obsidian_armor_f.jpg
The rest – http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Obsidian_armorThe armors I’ve listed are from the very beginning of GW, so they are very outdated. Imagine how they could look right now, in GW2. But we still don’t have them…
The current choice is just poor, not because we don’t have as many options, but rather because most of these options suck.
A handful of those armors are decent and I see one or two that are really good, the rest are pretty much hideous. I mean seriously, a leather skirt and halter top for almost every single female armor? Great variance, halter top and skirt that’s blue, halter top and skirt with tattoos… ooh a corset and skirt, now we’re getting somewhere.
Neither, screwed up would be a better description. They can’t do anything with the class without making full stance-dance builds more powerful, but they can’t afford to make those builds any more powerful or else the Elementalist will spiral out of control in high-end PvP. They completely botched our class-mechanic.
(edited by Conncept.7638)
There’s more than one way to play an ele. Personally, I like the swaps. My fiance just goes between fire and water most of the time.
Not really, at least from where I stand.
There may be more than one build, but that doesn’t mean much when every single build plays exactly the same. The stance dance is a single playstyle, the only viable one in PvP and high level PvE, and it’s barely affected by any build choces except your weapon, which we only have four of. It’s not supposed to be that way, the traits pretty much make it clear that the designers intended for mono or dual attunement builds to work. But the designers completely screwed up on our class mechanic and didn’t even realize it until beta. At which point they nerfed it in to the ground, and yet people can still find uses for the Ele so long as they abuse the stance dance.
And if it gets buffed? We may now have viable single or dual-attunement builds, but the stance dance style will just become more powerful. They’ve created exactly what they were trying to eliminate by simplifying GW1s deck swapping system, a single superior ‘run’ through the skill-bar which applies to almost every situation, commonly known as a crack build, we have a crack class. And no matter what they nerf or drop or change, it’ll be there unless they change the mechanics behind it.

WvWvW: Make zergs less effective, while endorsing team play.
How would you do that, though? Be specific. Not trying to be a smart kitten here, I just don’t see how to make numbers not matter in large scale pvp. And what do you mean by endorsing team play?
team play is when you work together to achieve a goal using each other to work towards a goal. zergs can be avoided by using fortifications that multiply damage based on how many enemys they hit. As most zergs travel in large packs the multiplier would be huge making the zerg work less.
come on dont give me the 3rd degree just because you dont like what i said,.
But that would just make groups completely ineffective, it would end up better to have a dozen people on a wvw map than hundreds, effectively eliminating the ‘large-scale’ from large-scale PvP. I agree that something needs to be done about zergs, but you are waaaay oversimplifying the issue.
As for me:
- All loot drops should be level-based, and armor should scale down to where all areas are actually a challenge. We were promised an end-game that stretched over the whole game world. This is not true if there is no challenge or reward appropriate to my level, going to low level areas gives no sense of accomplishment. I don’t think ascended gear broke any promises or that anything else ANet has done since launch has. But REFUSING to make the end-game as it was promised to be and hiding that end-game until after launch broke promises aplenty and was plain dishonest and deceptive.
- Limit the amount of guilds you can join, and do not limit the amount of people a guild can have. People told you this guild system was going to depreciate the value of guilds to nothing all the way back in beta. Why didn’t you listen?
- Stop putting things in the monthly ON THE MONTH THEY ARE RELEASED! You do not have a good track record of getting things perfectly balanced on release, start looking at your work realistically and from a professional and critical viewpoint.
- I think PvP is fine, they just need to keep up with the balance work.
- WvW pretty much needs to be completely rethought, it would take a whole second thread just to list the amount of things wrong with it, let alone address them.

when you are done creating your character, there’s a good chance it will not look the same ingame.
Posted by: Conncept.7638
OK so I fixed the settings and used SweetFX and colors etc, now it looks much better.
Now I ran into another issue. I bought the total-makeover kit by mistake, so I thought what the hell, now’s my chance to make an actual comparison.
What I found was that the face of my character was elongated in-game. If you look starting around the bottom lip down to the chin area, you can see how it does not match the character editor to the right (no, I have not made any changes whatsoever when I opened up the editor).
What say you people?
It’s not elongated, your character is in a perfectly static posture in the character creation screen, whereas in game your character is in a more natural posture; head tilted slightly down, slack-jawed, shoulders slumped, hips forward, etc… It would look really really unnatural if your character ran around the world with perfectly erect posture as if she was constantly posing for a picture.

A server will read “Full” or “Very high” when the servers character cap has been reached. What I mean by this is when enough people have transferred over to that server, or enough people have registered that server as there own, it will be shown as “FULL”. All those people who have chosen that server don’t even have to be logged in, but it will still show FULL.
Thats how ArenaNet tricks you. They trick fanboys and other people who do not know the system into believing that the servers are Full. To create the illusion that people are still playing and everything is okay. But in reality we are losing players, fast.
Thats why people are complaining about their server dying. Thats why people are upset about major cities turning into Ghost towns and can’t figure out why. Thats why they hide the truth, to pretend like everything is alright. But we are indeed losing active people and guilds. Sad truth
Two words
COMMUNITY COORDINATOR
That’s a fancy technical name for an event planner. If anybody at all on the Dev team knows nothing about the technical aspect of the game or is likely to be misinformed about this subject, it would be him/her.

So if a server is full its full of accounts not online players?so desolation is full now tomorrow morning it must be full and all other must be VERY High
on EU if someone goes low does everyone delete their accounts and buy new ones?
Well, thanks to terrible handling of server transfers in the first month of the game, a TON of no-lifer guilds all moved as a group to 4-5 servers so they could dominate in WvWvW. These are the guilds that are so ‘hardcore’ most players log-off to sleep or when they die, and they pretty much never leave the top few WvW ranking spots. However these few servers are pretty much closed 24/7 and there’s really no fixing that, not sure if desolation is one of those but could be.
(edited by Conncept.7638)
It’s already been stated by staff that a server’s population is in relation to online population, not accounts on the server.
The opposite has also been stated by ANet devs. Somebody somewhere on the ANet team is speaking on a subject they are clearly have no business speaking about, and it’d be nice if they told us who. But to be honest, it’s kind of obvious that it is at least somewhat dependent on players online, or else it wouldn’t fluctuate open and closed during peak and off hours.
Dont be so nieve.
Don’t be so snowy?
(edited by Conncept.7638)
There will be server mergers sooner or later. The playerbase has dropped by around 75%
“Server Full” only means theres a max number of users tied to that server as home server, even counting those that havent logged in for a month
You could at least provide some false evidence to back up your lie, absolutely shameful how little effort trolls put forth these days. :-/
Yes. A little bit.
The problem is GW2 was billed as skill based, no vertical progression, easy stat cap, and “everything is endgame”
This entices a lot of people, because they were looking for something different in an MMO.
However with one of the recent updates, Anet took a massive dump all over the promises they’ve made, and having not fixed any of the serious issues players are having, within a month of them being made, has started to drain any goodwill Anet has.
The game was, and possibly still is fun, but it’s not what it used to be, and quite a few of us are very disappointed in the route Anet has decided to take.
There should be an ‘in my opinion’ somewhere in there. This is not fact, I don’t agree with it, and in my opinion, I don’t think most players do either.
The CCs need to be toned down, and something needs to be done to Malchors and the Straits to give them some value so that people don’t just skip them on there way to Ara.
yeah I definitely agree that they need to improve the support roles a bit, for example crit chance doesn’t affect heals in the slightest while in other games it does. Also things like the +healing on armor often doesn’t scale many of the abilities healers have.
The problem is, if they make crit chance work with heals, Bunker guardian will essentially become unstoppable in SPvP. I think it’s a cool idea, and that they could implement it, just not sure exactly how they would do so without breaking more things than they fix.
Uhm guardians/warriors near impossible to kill anyway? Well that just means they have some serious balancing to do is all, harming healers of every other class won’t fix the issues with this game.
It’s the same for dps. Two classes can 1 shot right now. Do you think that’s fair too? or do you think like I do that they should balance that as well by giving all of the other classes the ability to do preparatory abilities to one shot as well or remove those one shot abilities entirely.
Making the mechanics of the game function properly like crit chance, won’t break the game, leaving the things in this game that make it near impossible to play breaks the game.
Well that’s not true, I can build my Ele to where he can one-shot anything. The difference is, at that point I can BE one-shotted by anything because I have zero defense. I don’t have a problem with certain ‘assassin-like’ classes being able to one-shot if they build for it. The problem is currently that warriors can one-shot while being tanky enough to take more than a few blows, so they auto-win in any glass vs glass situation. And thieves, while able to be one-shotted, can one-shot from complete safety and drop back in to complete safety if they fail. That needs to be fixed.
Guardians are a problem that needs fixing, they are not unkillable they just take too long to kill to make it fun or worth the point value you get from there death. Tanky warriors are much less of a problem, I take warriors down all the time with my bleed elementalist, my bomber engineer, and my confusion mesmer. You just don’t face glass cannon warriors as a glass cannon, they will always win.
(edited by Conncept.7638)
They need to just allow a bindable ‘drop-target’ key.
I want:
- loot levels to be restored to what they were at launch and not this garbage heap we get now
- real balance otherwise they can rename this game Guild Warriors 2
- horizontal progression for ascended gear to be focused on the real crafting of this game and not the mystic toilet
- engineer pve class to be completely fixed by the end of the month. (seriously they’ve had three months to fix this class) which includes but isn’t limited to the restoration of cond damage, tab targeting for #1 grenades, and faster cast times for grenades, bombs, and pistols.
You do realize that there still hasn’t been any conclusive proof that loot drop rates have changed right? And ANet has said, if they have dropped they didn’t do it, and they can’t see anything in the code that would have caused them to drop on there own.
You ever think that it might just be your frustrations playing tricks on your mind? Some of this crap is insanely hard to get, but has always been insanely hard to get.
(edited by Conncept.7638)
I don’t see how this belongs in the suggestions forum…?

Attended/Got loot/Got mail
You can still play a healer, and more importantly, you can play it with half the classes in the game if you spec right. Are you going to stand there and deal zero damage or permanently keep a single tank alive through little to no effort like in WoW? No, this game doesn’t work like that and never will.
Supporting is still just as important a part of the game as in WoW, But in GW2 supporting is probably only 20% healing and 80% buffing/debuffing. Personally I like it better that way but to each his own.
(edited by Conncept.7638)
Nope.
There are a few things that GW1 did better, but none of them matter more than gameplay, in which GW2 has done astronomically better.

Not sure about titles, but items do not unsoulbind when you delete the character they are soulbound to. But when you think about it though that’s a good idea, if something is soulbound to a character and they get deleted, make it accountbound. Players don’t lose out on cool stuff because of bad early game decisions, and it isn’t exploitable in any way that I can see so long as it stays accountbound.
A week’s worth of farming? Try three months for those of us who have responsibilities outside the game and don’t want to waste what little time we have tag-spamming an endless circle of Orr events.
Honestly, dumbest thing I’ve seen players do is follow another player to their death after falling from a cliff. It’s friggin hilarious, but dumb. Sheep!!!!
So many times I’ve laid dead at the bottom to see one by one players start dropping out of the sky dead. Thank you Anet, I will probably never ever forget those moments for the rest of my life.
haha I saw this happen last night in WvW. There was a group of us chasing some stragglers and they just went off the cliff after them like lemmings. Was kind of funny, but also kind of sad.
Oh is that what that is? I just had someone last week, an engineer I destroyed in 1v1 in WvW, suicide like that, and I could not figure out what he was thinking, but maybe he was trying to trick me? He had barely any life left and starts running away, jumps off a cliff, he splats against the ground and dies while I watch from the cliff edge, I get the kill and then walk away laughing.
The Patch notes “lie”, it’s not like they are liers but some of things they said fixed are now with same or new bugs.
But I hope they would start to not break the game systems in a new patch like happened in DEC 3, alot of new bugs introduced there! (sadly)
what new bugs name few ?
Phantasms became bugged, jumping broke (but has since been fixed), signets stopped working with arcane skills (elementalist), traits stopped working with transform skills (has also been fixed), and tournaments were broken (I think this has been fixed but I don’t do tourneys so I’m not positive)
There were a few more, I can’t remember them all.
Granted, I don’t even think that is bad. A bad patch is when the servers go down for a week, not when a few minor bugs are introduced. This game is great and they’re working hard on polishing it, but it’s going to take time that no amount of whining will speed up.
(edited by Conncept.7638)
I think the TIME game of the year title is more than enough publicity and recognition for the game, heh. Anything else is just gravy
.
Psh, I would very much disagree. Times name used to have some weight to it as a cultural icon, but now it’s just another pseudo-political rag. The VGA, while not known by everyone, is very well known among gamers worldwide, which is really what matters when it comes to accolades for video games anyway. Who cares about the opinion of a bunch of ill informed political writers who probably don’t even play video games?
I don’t know for a fact, but I would bet that capes became out of the question when dodge-rolling was added.
Cape+dodge roll = Hero burrito
