The last few weeks have been the most balanced and fun I’ve seen WvW. SFR disintegrating and it’s guilds going elsewhere, with a resurgent 24/7 viz is not a good thing for T1 at all

RUIN is insignificant history – Deso climbed back to T1 without them and have stayed here consistently.

your server will be remembered as THE server who got most silver and bronze medals,as long as VZ is in T1 you will never ever win,you do understand that?

I don’t think you ‘get’ Desolation. There is literally no whining that we don’t get gold all the time, ever, in map/guild chat. Unlike you, personally speaking, winning at any cost simply doesn’t plague us; we know what lies down that route. When we get silver or bronze, we don’t implode because we owe all our success to guilds that are looking for pastures anew in a tier that doesn’t have a rekindled vizunah omniblob.

We seem genuinely happy we’ve come 2nd twice in a row, I bet that really annoys you, yeah? How dare we enjoy WvW. You don’t get Desolation.

We’re not a pure WvW FotM server comprised of guilds that came along to escape pugs, whoever that happens to be, or a server that can command vast zergs at any hour of the day. We’ve been fighting 4:1 outmanned in EB this morning. We held, for now.

We’re just a normal server with an enthusiastic WvW streak.

Oh and [outmanned] a lot of the time and almost no queues. :O)

I might as well say it here seen as people didn’t get my sarcasm in the last few posts. SFR wants to drop to tier 2, We are rebuilding and will focus on fights rather than points.

I can fully empathise why you’d want out of T1 now the viz blob(s) is back.

It’s a shame SFR has apparently failure cascaded after losing once, but anyone with online gaming experience knows that a loose collection of corps/guilds who believe themselves to be ‘better’ than everyone else will destruct the second that’s proven not so, in a WvW sense. Blaming PUGs just ain’t cricket, we all have to ‘deal’ with pugs, nobody is special, it’s their game too.

Anet making the server free after you paid however is raw, but serves as warning to any attempts at creating a pure WvW server: Anet will simply undo it.

No smack intended, it was genuinely good having an opponent that never relied soley on insane zergs everywhere to fight and balanced T1 into a 3-way contest. Now there is the vizunah 24/7 omniblob and T1 EU i’m guessing just got a lot less fun for at least a week.

It’s hardly a surprise.

The PvP in GW2 is simply not a patch on GW1. I’m sure some people like it, but GW1 had pvp flooding out of every orifice. PvP right off the bat in pre-searing. Arenas for all levels, premades, random and team arenas, Alliance battles. GvG. HoH. Combine with the astounding variety of builds and people you could play about with. Even the PvE had more oomph to it than GW2. What a game it was!

The proper PvP in GW2 just, seems tired already, and for me it’s never appealed, and I’m a PvP/FPS/kill-other-people-in-computer-games nut. So WvW it is, and happily T1 EU atm is non-stop killing between 3 complementary servers.

Thankfully, on T1 EU there is no zerging at all. Being honourable chaps and chapettes we simply do en-masse 1v1, the losers logging off and the winners /sit until the battles are over. Whichever side has the most people remaining wins and then logs off for the shame of having more players left, whilst the losing side also logs off for losing.

Naturally, if one Server is 1v1’ing another server and a 3rd server happens upon the disagreement, the 3rd server will log off.

Because something might happen.

Disgraceful, come on anet, just remove PvE titles from WvW already.

It’s not like before culling removal there was no skill lag, it’s just one side typically got wiped before anyone noticed the lag (or the attacking players) :P

We’re essentially playing a different game post 26/3.

Doesn’t that Vizunah guild [MOS] have a leaderboard type thing, with history and point ticks and everything on it.

Yeah personal preference I guess, neither situation had/has a future the way it’s going. It seems people either hated not being able to see anyone, or being able to see people and do nothing, or both As i say i’m the kind of masochist that played eve online during the lag years so I just zone out when the lag hits _ and spam 1 ofc.

I played eve online during the lag years, so I am very tolerant of lag and can happily switch to a different ‘mode’ of gameplay, still excruciatingly annoying however as WvW just doesn’t work when slowed down. CCP solved the issue by throwing money at hardware, but I get the feeling a lot, lot more is actually happening during the 3way zerg fests at all our keeps than in any eve online fight. I’m thinking all kinds of issues that throwing hardware at might not be able to presently solve. The current situation is vastly better however than the culling which made the game unplayable, for me at least, hence a long break.

Right now, the only solution is a redesign of WvW; more maps with lower pop limits, but that is akin to amputation.

Still, Deso is frequently [Outmanned] on 2 or more maps, the lesser of 3 evils.

I hope for your own sake as a human being you are trying to troll (and failing), and that garble is not something you think makes any kind of sense. gg.

You also seem very angry regarding the guild I’m in too, regardless of what it is that I actually do, and have confused my displaying it for transparency with ‘showing off’, then conflating that with denigrating ‘zerging’, something every guild partakes in for the big pushes.

this however is a hack

Been doing some tests with skills, warrior charge types (sword 2, GS 5, bulls, etc) in particular, and the lag literally breaks them. Not sure how, but they simply stop short by half or go in the wrong direction. This is in t1 with a solid 30 minute? 3 way, poor servers :/

Very happy with this week, upping our game and surging past Viz was a great achievement, but even better would be beating the wholly WvW focused server that is SFR!

depends, thiefs gank everything, memsers open up tactics, ranged/aoe dps is essential for cleaning walls and nuking mobs, warriors and guardians can provide essential support and man siege when things get bad (or just kill things), etc….chose the playstyle you think you’ll enjoy the most :O)

I think it works as intended, yes I was disappointed at first then I realised a scattershot that we could aim like a normal would be ridiculously powerful :P Still a great skill for people charging at you, it’s gonna hurt them.

I actually stopped putting any real amount of time into WvW 3 weeks ago, it’s absolutely dreadful considering the games I could be playing in the dark hours. Still, no subs, no pressure to play :P

Calling Deso an American server is classic dividing tactics, you see the same when people (certain Scottish nationalists, Kirchnerist Argentinians, etc) refer to the British Empire as the English Empire, it’s a ploy to redefine popular attitudes along a more ‘useful’, fracturous narrative, out of game to promote political interests and ingame to…well you get the picture.

Stop it, the constant obsessing over nationality is boring me, and my god it makes you look like an awful, bitter person who is either utterly dishonest or just ignorant of the dynamics of gameplay.

badge gear is huuugely over priced, there’s no prestige attached to it either, it simply has useful stats, the jewellery more so.

I found bulls charge so buggy, constantly stopping just before reaching target, no idea why, I had to stop using it.

I’ve been playing support warrior for over a month now, have 2 armour sets of: 6 runes of mercy for heavy duty rezzing in my healing banner support build and on power/touch/healing power 6 of the soldier for the healing shouts/mass condition removals/boons.

I favour using shout build for personal survivability.

I use sword/horn and mace/shield on both, S/H gives great mobility, cripples and 2 great aoe buffs (traited to reverse debuffs) and M/S which give me good survivability and 2 interrupts on visible enemies trying to finish downed allies.

My healing skill is Heal sig, which is combined with adrenal health and hp regen food (mango pie) on either build.

Honestly not sure how many people are affected by shouts, but I see the heals on more than 5 people for sure.

I typically use War Banner elite for both.

Sometimes, near cliffs, I use stomp in place of a 3rd banner/“Fear me” (also good near cliffs) and then replace war banner with Juggernaught elite for 3x stomps when I fling myself off a wall using savage leap to trigger DfA. Leave transform, weapon swap and trigger hydromancer, throw up traited shield stance and hobble back to portal spamming condition removals/heals then horn.

Sigils are 1x water (quite meh) and 1x hydro on mace/shield and life and hydromancer on S/H. doubled up hydro is very effective, and life stacks up fast for 250 more healing on shouts, yet more on banner support.

Traits 10 str (death from above is amazing…) 30 def and 30 tactics, traits to suit build.

I don’t use any kind of ranged weapon as support warrior, just doesn’t synergise well with how I play.
