No, no, the SFR that beat Viz was a very different beast, one of many large and organised guilds, probably the strongest server WvW has seen, to the one that got slaughtered last week when Viz decided to do their Omniblob kitten and you had absolutely nothing to stop them. Stop hanging on to past glory, in a world of server transfers the past is nearly meaningless.

Oh, and Deso beat Vizunah and Arbourstone (when they still had their omniblobs) before SFR were anywhere near T1 EU. But things change, a week after that, Blacktide – present rank 24th – destroyed both Deso and Viz. Free transfers eh, the downfall of SFR too.

Also the whole ‘we don’t play for points’ shlock, doesn’t work, I’ve played Eve Online, I’ve read every excuse under the sun when things don’t go peoples way. Always the same, always about the ~good fights. That only works if you’re simply not in a position to win, otherwise it makes you look really desperate to save face.

I never, nor has anyone else, stated Deso was going to beat SFR, it would be unrealistic to think so, people playing on Deso really are in it for the good fights.

I have literally left the game of GW2 WvW as it is not worth my time, but forums are something else entirely, and when there are amateurs such as yourself trying to twist things, there’s always a game for me :P

Using teleport hacks are no longer an issue, if you get my meaning, but it’s the countless others that are part of the reason I’ve deleted my characters and have moved on from GW2. There are so many…I thought culling had being reintroduced to WvW a week ago as I was dying ridiculously fast (on a tanky warrior build) at times but realised I was being one shot amidst a flurry of spammy little hits during combat. Nice and sneaky. Combat log showed nothing of course, just lots of spam.

Winning thrice in a row was boring as hell, Piken seemed to just stop logging in as losing was too painful for their SFR-lite egos (especially when FG came back to deso and suddenly they started hating on them), MS/Kodash/AM gave it a go though.
Riverside were rank 11? when we fought them, but they had huge presence/numbers and were clearly going to climb higher.

I’m VERY glad Piken have Vizunah now, as they accused Desolation of being Vizunah mark 2.0, because unlike Piken we never failure cascaded the second we started to lose and grew a night force, now they get the real thing and it’s really really funny.

Deso was always best when things were not easy, losing can be far more fun than winning, for sure, such is how WvW is balanced. Though I think harder being funner applies to games in general. The Queens event has really forked the player base however and WvW when I left it had the familiar faces in, the backbone of Deso, outnumbered nearly 24/7. Much respect to them.

No they don’t. People need to stop spreading this garbage. Almost every mob has different aggro priorities, and even then different skills on each of those mobs will prioritize different conditionals.

There’s a reason why no good teams run an Anchor anymore, let alone AH (in any dungeon).

As it stands this is a genuinely bad item, because it could have been so much better without being ‘OP’. Basic…stills costs per use…utterly useless item, should be 400 gems max and even then it’s still basic…

The unlimited harvest tools are actually useful in that you don’t waste space on tools or ever forget to refresh them and end up missing out on things, they are certainly not bought for the cost effectiveness!

Salvage-o-matic is just horrible, having none of the advantages of the Tools and being basic and still costing per use, it’s a trakittenem. Smart money is avoiding this one.

Agreed, there’s basically no loot left in WvW, no matter how many you kill, and considering WvW is quite a gold sink…

I’m seeing them being claimed instantly after cap, yet I’ve always had to wait 3 minutes before I can cap (lord timer cooldown at 1:59).

Desolation (…!?) did this a few days ago, we never made a post about it because we’re not proud of it – it’s dreadful for loot because nobody is about, dreadful for fun because nobody is about…you get the idea.

confirmed also, I bought this up inside WvW and many others had also noticed it.

I have a 250GB Samsung 840 SSD and OC’d i5 3570k 16GB ram 7950 OC’d blah blah blah, running 64bit Windows 7, loading times used to be a few seconds, but I’m seeing up to 15 now, it’s really grating!

Now they are 5 times harder to get, their price will significantly increase on the desirable skins (pistol & rifle look ace, hammer possibly).

Halloween skins are set to violently crash in value as Halloween is coming back round and Anet will be reusing content they have already put considerable effort into and their monetisation of GW2 reaches maturity.

ACs on gates is something we faced alot against Piken, it forces you to either actively scout a tower and spam the gate (using superior AC) or lose vast amounts of siege inside.

Alot of what looks like zoomhacking, window aspect for example, isn’t, but it is certainly going on – when an AC without a legit LOS shoots cleanly ontop of walls for example.

Kodash are every bit as awful as I remember hahahaha

I prefer Warrior after trying to level a guardian and dying of boredom.

Very flexible & fun class whether you dealing damage directly or with conditions, or AoE support with banners/shouts (using fields as appropriate).

Match has been quite boring on EB so set myself the task of climbing the tower!

I found disabling reflections and shadows has let my computer run zergs alot smoother, whilst still keeping char limit at max and char detail on medium. Char detail is another thing to drop to get more performance. I imagine a zerg taxes even an OC’d 6c/12t socket 2011.

Mostly though it’s a CPU thing, the game devours CPU.

During zergs it will be anet’s server bottlenecking you most of the time as long as your settings are sensible relative to the computers specs.

Looking back through sweet innocent Piken’s match history, you utterly wiped several servers whilst deso was enduring endless Vizunah omniblobs.

nope, a bunch of timewarped Golems using 3 will kitten any door in seconds (literally) whilst taking kitten damage from whatever gets through. A single Supac will stall almost any ram based attack bar guardian blobs, and 2+ will kill everything, so Catas are used and further counter seige like counter catas or trebs are used. But w/e, Golems, bam.

Be funny if they introduce Golem mastery with prices as they are!

Now it’s mentioned I have been getting no WXP from Vengeanced warriors, not that warriors get to use this much! Hadn’t thought about this until now…

I was reading this when I realised I’d not watched any of ZP’s latest or any cyanide and happiness for ages, but before I go and laugh sporadically for half an hour, saint scarlet don’t try to act all better than us, I saw Piken Pug blobs 4-omega golem rush PvD 3 keeps in deso borders all with WP when we had hardly anyone to defend on line even had I’d raised the alarm, you do it too.

Yeah I was in the defending Omega golems all 3 times, because even though it was hopeless to defend, never stop not giving up O_O

Check my elite pvp video for an example of how I would command.

I managed to rep up a gate under heavy attack and give our people some time to organise solely because I rep 10 supply at a time.

I also use all supply in 2 build cycles (12 used) now rather than 5 or more.

As a warrior I’ve gone full condition/some CC and cond removal, and have killed a lot of thieves since, however, I have to play with far greater skill and timing than they do just to have a hope of competing, because their skills are so kitten insane. Seriously I can dodge attacks I can’t see coming but they still don’t reveal themselves, so I just lose endurance and they lose nothing. The thief class disgusts me, has wrecked anets reputation post gw1, and is easily the most broken class I’ve seen in an MMO, which is saying something considering how many screwups I’ve seen.

My comments pertain to WvW, where stealth is basically the entire meta of roaming.

They are rewarded for each rank you had in WvW before anet introduced rank reward chests, so you got 2 per level, until you ran out of bonus chests. You can’t earn more, as they are rewarded for things done previous to the reward system.

As I write these lines now (11.58pm), the income for PS is +315, yours is +205…

In fairness Deso and Kodash have been at a higher PPT for most of the day, as can be seen here http://mos.millenium.org/servers/view/15/. That said there seems to be an API fault or something near the end of the chart hmmmm.

What can also be seen are the massive efforts of the Deso night crew. The pulsing Blue line, the heartbeat of the indefatiguable Deso noctural ninjas as other servers flatline BEFORE OUR SUPREME PVP SKILL sorry, I mean PvDoor boredom.

It also shows clearly Deso’s morning weakspot as players simply drop down dead infront of their computers.

I’ve no doubt this nightly desolation of everything hurts Pikes and Kods daytime PPT, when Viz did this to us, endlessly for months, with their canadian surge it was harsh and we always started the days off on the back foot, without even any shoes on, and even though you seem to have far less PUGs than we do, it’s demoralising.

Certain classes have hugely better downed states than others in WvW, (theives for example), and the rally mechanic is abused frequently by people running into mobs and hitting them when they are losing as one mob will probably die and boom…It’s terrible, one of the silliest things I’ve seen in a supposedly PvP game.

Yeah mornings are brutal for us, basically nobody on because they probably fell asleep on their keyboards >_< lol

We kept bay through sheer luck, even though I had killed 3 trebs in briar basically nobody listened to me which resulted in bay getting trebbed for ages and finally those 2 guilds hitting inner, but they seemed to be faffing about and never really got stuck in, it was getting late I guess.

I have started playing on borders again, Piken in particular, as I simply don’t care for the obscenely lagged out zergs from everyone, which just make me angry and frustrated, and I need to get better at pvp – I play warrior so it’s pretty ‘arrrghdcore’

Win or loose I think Deso will be a better server by the end of the week, fighting piken is hugely more intense than vizunah and requires a change of tactics, and makes me want to get on voice comms for once. Not that I will lulz

With regards to Desolation being like vizunah, the comparison is intellectually dishonest, we don’t have a timezone advantage (thanks to anet), a single language, or the benefit of masses of French canadians which is the only thing that explains vizunah’s number swell every night, nor a zombie like lust for hitting doors. Players simply adapted to fight vizunah. Piken square is not Vizunah, you are hugely better, but our night force isn’t going to simply vanish.

Piken shot up from 22nd to 6th over a few months – you gained good people and solid guilds whilst desolation lost them by the bucketload, Piken are presently 8th, with your weakness clearly being EU night coverage, fact is all servers are ‘weak’ here with regards to Vizunah, through Deso consistently improved against this over the past 2 months. When Piken are constantly facing the biggest nightcappers in the game, they will probably get stronger at night should their fighting spirit not break, and then when they face a server without a monstrous nightcap zerg, they themselves will seem to be ‘nightcapping’, but to accuse them of such would be missing the point, much like accusing Deso of it is missing the point.

Can we please move past threads getting stuck on some cycling unresolvable argument about elements of gameplay. It’s a fact anet screwed up when it came to EU servers in a game based on ‘coverage first’, their decisions on seige, and then making an already super powerful offensive siege mechanic 5 times cheaper to pull off, amongst other things.
