As it stands the badges aspect is trivial and token. WvW’ers have been left out in the cold for 6 months now? And yet more months to come as we can finally gather laurels doing what we enjoy. Still no WvW ascended back item.

Don’t get me wrong, I’d rather gear grind had never been introduced as anet had said it wouldn’t be, but to get second-class treatment when it was, and even now…eh.

No WvW ascended items available for badges, just slight discounts, and accessories are totally off the menu.

Considering I was called out personally by Devon as I maintained all along anet would not give us Ascended for badges, I just have to post this “I was right” gloat poast :P

Yep I took a 5 month break from the game as it was literally broken, they removed culling and now you can have 100 players on your screen, or more, so settings that used to be fine will now cause unplayable FPS, in the sense you can’t maintain fluidity of thought in combat because your screen is a slideshow – server lag still screws us all in the end and as people are zerging ever more server lag has really come to the fore.

I’ve noticed gw2 is really harsh on the CPU too with char amount set to highest, will easily max a 3570k @ 4.4GHz in a zerg fest :/

Unfortunately your picture is wrong, I’ve defended overlook many times, including just now using the mortar – successfully – and mortar B can hit much further.

Also no skills to increase treb/mortar range.

They mostly come at night, mostly.

We also neutralised a viz golem rush just :/ [outmanned] to bits of course.

So basically, without the damage control speeches; Vizunah are failure cascading after the shock of not being able to nightcap golemrush Elona because they have more than 5 people defending their stuff at 5am.

You may want to read the entire thread before posting this. Anet has already said they will introduce Ascended gear into WvW and that we won’t see a new currency.

Heartseeker, the damage on this is so overpowered, as of it can be used up to 5 times when at full initiative. How to kill someone as a Heartseeker spammer: 3k, 3k, 3k, 5k, 8k, -dead- if they are bunker, they will be less than 30% health.

Thieves that spam nothing but heartseeker are some of the lowest skilled players in this game and you should feel bad for dying to them.

Hard to ‘defend’ against some random ultra high damage spam tbh. I’m a warrior with 3400 armour and was hit for near 8k by a lone heartseeker spammed from who-knows-where. Sure I was on lower health (% wise, I was never killed by the 8k hit), but I have heals and don’t blow them all the second I get damaged, but theifs get a skill that serves many functions and also hits like a nuke on people with lower % health. There’s so many things wrong with such a skill…

I was there yes, very easy indeed, as long as all players get out of the way of the spammed life drain thing it goes down fast.

If anet had any self respect they would simply remove/completely alter the thief class and put their hands up; ‘we made a mistake’. For a game that’s broke the ‘holy trinity’ in an attempt to be different, the thief class is horrifically derivative, lazily designed and is a clear cash-grab at a certain demographic, we all know the sort

Just for comparison, In Eve Online; Cloaking could not be done if someone had you selected (locked). It could not be rapidly spammed. It fails if anything gets close to you. You cannot target/attack if cloaked. It crippled most ships that fitted cloaking ability to lock/target other players with delays and slower locking time. It was typically often a compromise and the ships designed to use it never hit very hard compared to the dps monsters.

The PvP-centric (well…) CCP recognised how powerful stealth is and made it available only under very select circumstances, even then, it was a very powerful tool if used well. Anet? Every 3 or 4 seconds (?!) and no restrictions on a super high spike damage class. Players do not have to use any skill, it’s there, like a crutch for over aggressive players who make a lot of mistakes as they spam their ultra-high damage skills and need a risk free, pause button pvp option, otherwise they will cry and not play the game, hence the demographic targeting.

Wow, I thought I was alone in this, I met the champ wraith the other day, never had before though…or I should say I met loads of dead players before I realised running away was a good thing to do, am a warrior with lots of shout heals and speed moves so got away, just.

It’s ridiculously powerful, Keep it, but move it far away from the camp cos it just murders people for even being near it.

The camera in gw2 is awful ain’t it? It’s subtle but i feel the OP’s pain, camera movement has a slow quality to it, accelerating then slowing. If I had to play an FPS with the GW2 camera responsiveness i’d go literally insane and eat my keyboard.

I can understand why some people simply don’t notice this but it’s mind-bogglingly annoying if you do.

I don’t actually play wow but using a trial account the wow camera is massively more responsive, responding to movement commands exactly, as is the mouse cursor. Infact WoW’s gui is light years ahead of GW2.

That there’s no fixed (as in do not bloody move) camera option is also a major ‘eh?!’ moment.

I’m gagging for some shards so thought I’d ask here if it’s clear on your server, or better yet find out if a system for checking such things already exists? Cheers

If that is your personal experience and not just another fallacious statement – I see a lot of those from viz – you literally cannot play much WvW at all. Though with your queue times I can see how that would be the case.
