Uh… that looked like a really good game… and all were sapphire, those were the results to be expected, guess people will cry a river even if the match was a good one. Point about winners? There’s always gonna be a loser.
nerf minimap, come on ANET
scrapper/druid/tempest can carry you like a princess
Indeed, never mind the half dozen ways you can protect yourself. Since 5k damage is unacceptable we should just remove zerk, and marauder amulets too, oh and knights just to be sure.
EDIT: Don’t forget valkyrie…gotta cover all our bases ya know.
Sorry I don’t see it, seen some thieves rekt, reapers, druids, tempests, and scrappers.
Yea except Orr is/was the same way, and still is :o
I prefer Wanderer’s amulet over Merc, depending on the build I am running, straight condi wise, I prefer it. If I use Merc I switch to d/d and or a/w .. power doesn’t benefit scepter/staff. Pre HOT the majorit of condi necs ran Rabid gear, and Carrion wasn’t really touched, but then this was during thief/warr times and toughness was most sought after.
The only reason a nec really wants Merc amulet is just for the vitality which stacks with shroud. To me though while some will say it’s mandatory. I find Vital Persistence to be enough as it’s also a passive defensive feature built into your shroud when you take damage. You won’t face tank with impunity but it gets the job done, especially when you’re dropping AOE’s everywhere.
So there you have it, most necs will argue take merc amulet for the vitality, they say power but really it’s laughable with scepter/staff. You will not drop a bunker ele below 75% health with only 2000 power, and barely any ferocity. Diamond skin does remove a con per pulse but the ele still takes damage with what ever condi pressure you put on them, don’t forget to corrupt their boons, and watch for their heals so you can intrupt them. But the power from Merc doing anything to a bunker ele? No. I If you go Merc it’s for D/D or A/W weapon specs, or even GS if you’re feeling spiffy. Benefits mostly MM necs imo, or corrupting necs who use axe and dagger. Or hell even core necs cause their lifeblast will do modest damage? per hit.
Wanderer’s is good for the condition duration, it’s like 33%. Precision benefits necs if you go curses, and can even stack on sigil of earth, torment, nullification or even generosity. Most necs are using sigil of ice though which does not rely on a % to hit but torment is good for a condi cover, and earth increases bleed intensity. Nullification for even more boon stripping, and generosity for the lulz.
EDIT: One more thing, despite all the cleanses people say are in the game, that is true but most condi classes can stack cons on auto attack, and the longer they last the greater the condi intensity, the more damage they will take. All conditions deal true damage, and condition cleansing can only recharge so fast.

You could use skill or you could be like me. Spam all my AoEs and run, screaming like a little girl for my teammates to come save me.
nerf screaming like a little girl, too op
Actually I’m finding I rather enjoying stacking 6-8 burns on enemies in an AOE arc. xD
No it’s not mostly chill….wtf … lol chill damage is just icing on the cake. Also why wouldn’t he run terror since fear also adds chill duration, if you corrupt their stab that’s a free 1.2 tick right there.
(edited by Crimson Shi.5047)
And what´s the counter to two reapers?
Well…
Get gud with 2 daredevil, scrapper, druid, bunker ele, flame rifle warr, and another reaper.
yessssh
same as I posted earlier, basically it won’t matter cause they will both be overriding each others condi ticks if that’s what you mean, only thing that sucks is if you rely super heavily on boons. Then you get punished for it… they have lame mobility (usually but there are exceptions) so if the necs are together go cap sides. If map is wide open like Legacy, pepper em from a distance. If they split up, well means your boons are sorta safe, sorry if my answer seems all over the place but there’s alot of variables in said situation
…Scrapper:…Leave the class as a whole alone…
And this is where you lost me.
same…
Get gud with daredevil, scrapper, druid, bunker ele, flame rifle warr, and another reaper.
I like OP’s logic, 2 revs in esl translate to omg nerf….. cause we’re ALL esl pro leaguers ofc.
You all realize that chill has been around, and unchanged for almost 4 years now yes? Before you say that it can be applied more then ever, necs ALWAYS had the ability to spam chill since before HOT. It is NOW only seen as worthwhile only because of deathly chill. Before HOT most condi necs were terrormancers mainly, with the odd nec adding dhuumfire to his condition damage. Also other classes are better at stacking condition intensity then necromancers are. In one match as thief, I got up to 35 stacks of bleed on a scrapper.
Pretty much this^ also as mentioned alot of theif’s best skills, stun breaks, and cc removal have shorter cool downs. I mean it’s not even the fact they daze, and steal your stability but also get an aoe fear which if the nec has no stun breaker for since his stab just got stolen, is like free hits for thief.
EDIT: this has been my experiance on both sides of the field, as a nec, and a thief, I am also not saying it’s impossible, just really hard against a good thief. some of my best fights as nec were against thieves.
Then they should consider giving it damage that scales on power. It could have split scaling. Or it could have a separate direct damage component. Or it could just scale on power instead of condi damage.
Whether that really was their intention or not. The nerf is inconsequential and makes no sense. We should be getting buffs in areas we suffer not silly nerfs which dont make any real difference to the gamemode the nerf was obviously directed at.
conditon scaling on power lol then you will se all power necro with free 1.2k chill damage ticks
Yea cause it’s chill that’s killing everyone, not the 10 stacks of poison, the 12 stacks of bleed, the occasional 4 stacks of burn, and those insignificant 1.2k terror ticks.
You all realize that chill has remained the same going on 4 years now yes?
dem troll posts
That is an interesting suggestion. Who else would you like to see as returning heroes in stronghold?
Magister Sieran please, and Warmaster Forgal Kernsson!
(edited by Crimson Shi.5047)
Well imo I feel reaper is not a good idea for condi pve, I mean it’s your game, play how you want but other classes, like say… thief, warrior, and engi can stack bleeds/burns/poison better then nec, and on a continuous basis.
Thief = bleed stacks, and even torment
Warrior = burn/bleed stacks, torment, and some confusion
Engineer=bleed/burn/poison, and confusion for the lulz
Who cares…if it works…use it kitten the haters and elitist snobs
Sorry i dont see it…even if you fear the theif he will just shadow step or roll for initiative. As for marks if you drop some that is all well and good but he will just evade thru them then blind you. If you think nec fan attack will work the theif will just kite you, wait for you to get out of shroud or sleight of hand you…dazing you and stealing your stability…then basi stun you or burst you down. Oh and no nec will use greatsword…again the theif wi just kite you…..but wait are you saying your build uses staff/gs?
That made no sense
I see more reapers, druids, scrappers, dh, daredevils, and heralds then others oh and the odd mesmer
Yea never mind the insane healing/durability of scrapper, druid, and rev. It’s clearly all reapers fault
How is that? Reapers not invincible…
And other classes have blocks, stealth, cleanses, boon respam, invunerability, and escapes. Virtues b shatters, tool belt skills, stances, quick heals, shouts auras, seeds…high burst damage heal spam..etc etc..we can discuss game mechanics all day ..
(edited by Crimson Shi.5047)
If done right a full cannon theif can burst anyone down to death before they can say mamma mia
you have to habe reflexes of an eagle and experiance to this attack to survive….even then thief will escape…..and try again
Nightmare….because imo chill isnt the only condition you need to win. Night mare will increase duration of ALL your conditions and has a defensive feature that Will protect from theives in particular cause the fear on hit. Perplexity is a solid rune and stacking on confusion is just as deadly. Confusion with terror, deathly chill, dhuumfiere maybe? Lol
Im going to run my reaper without deathly chill trait and see how I do…to see if it really is that over the top. Will probably run dhuumfire instead on my reaper and onslaught for faster auto attackd in shroud but I digress I want to see if it is really the only condition I need to win. I feel people are too focused on it but neglect the bleed, poison, terror, and vunerability that kill you….but chill alone? Or those condi players that spam cons on a nec but cry foul when they send them back or eat them…
..a game mechanic that’s been around since beta… But chill…now we over doing it.
If i want ease of play for high reward i go scrapper or druid
Necros are not easy to play…compared to other classes they have no blocks, no evasion other then roll, and only one specialized range counter other then the one in shroud…keep in mind other classes have blocks evasion and invunerability or stealth while nec is just one big target hence why tbey get focused because necs cant mitigate damage or escape per say… And most other classes can catch up to them. Thats where chill came in too. typing from mobile sorry every class can spam or time there defensive skill only noobs spam them unnecessarily. Necs dont have that luxury…and is a painful lesson from previous builds. They get 2nd life bar? So what they had to build that up from 0. Every class has that.
.you nealry kill guard..what does he do? Uses his virtues or his heal that blocks or the trap heal that dazes…very forgiving…or hia invunerable elite to recharge hia virtues so he can use them…again! Btw not picking on guards just using as example…necs usually take consume condi heal buthas a long castinf time and canbe interrupted…so plz stop crying..
.before was ham warrs and cele eles and lyssa thieves..it will always be some thing…now its reapers? Scrapper and druid is more annoying imo and only reaper can really counter them unless you like fighting on point for 15m >_>
Yea…maybe get HOT? You kinda have to be daredevil on that map.
I sometimes run a well build for fun, I call it my Ritualmancer build.
http://gw2skills.net/editor/?vRAQNAoYRnc0AF1g10AmbC0bilgBLKBEAKXTzgdwQIeIuEjiA-TZxFABKcIAYb/BAOBAkXGIgnAAA
it’s not updated with new amulets, but basically the ammy would be merc. Before would use celestial.
Good for contesting points, does very well in conquest against boon heavy classes, and other necs…. dat constant terror pulse :p
I use S/P when hunting other thieves.
http://gw2skills.net/editor/?vZAQRAsa6al0MhSnY3TwrJw/ELwE2cH8E2C1SABgMgXa4M0GA-TZRBABP8EAA4gAQWZgm2fw4TAAA
works on necs too, druids, etc. If you expect ranged nonense, can swap shadowstep for smokecreen but you lose mobility.

Charr theif reporting in, made her at the start of GW2. At work but will post a pic of her later.
{edit} here she is
(edited by Crimson Shi.5047)
Wait, you’re a necro asking to be nerfed? Other classes asking for necro nerfs are becoming crafty in how they present it.
His post history is in warr forums …so maybe :p
Anyway…going back to the necro, for this so called condition pressure the necro player has to invest anywhere between 1 to 3 traits to even have access to them. Fire, Terror, and Chill. Warrior being the 2nd for confusion.
Every other class has the capability to stack condition intesity way better then the nec. The mesmer, engineer, and even the warrior for some examples. (hell, even thieves)
(edited by Crimson Shi.5047)
True enough, as I was basically saying a gunflame warr for example or even trap guard, and of course ye ole thief can burst you down in a few well placed hits. Some have blocks, blind, a type of invulnerability etc. to counter a condi player.
I am just saying it goes both ways, a dance. If the nec doesn’t build up lifeforce quick he won’t be able to tank all that damage. If he misses an evade, doesn’t have stability, or burns all his big hits , and his opponent negated them all he gets punished for it.
In return if the dps guy doesn’t anticipate the big condi nuke, falls into the soft cc skills of the nec or burns all his big hits and gets feared/chilled, or misses, he gets nuked in turn. A lovely little dance I never get tired of
(usually >_>)
and conditions get cleansed, it’s like turnabout is fair play ya know?
I don’t think that’s a bad thing since on the opposite side of the spectrum with the right setup, a power specced toon can down an opponent in short order.
I bring Entangle no matter my build, either as a condi ranger, or a zerk ranger. My reasonings were simple at the time when thieves where the meta they would always be able to steal my stability and use it against me with their sleight of hand. So I saw Strength of the Pack as useless. Necs can corrupt it, it’s what i do when i am on my nec, and I see a ranger use that elite (he can send your roots back to you.. but getting terrored is worse imo).
But the one thing alot of people forget … roots is unblockable. When I see a guard, warrior using shield, or Revvy in that crystal hibernation, I drop roots on em to lock em place. Also roots also hits enemies without line of sight. Yup.. so even if the enemy is stealthed they still get nailed. Finally, roots even hits in a sphere. Behind a wall? No problem they can’t hit you, but you can hit them with roots. They on a floor above or below? Root them. sometimes it confuses them or something they are unexpecting, and may tip the battle in your allies favor if used.. or gives you breathing room. I like to cast Entangle even if they stealthed but I know they are nearby or if enemy is above me, then drop barrage ontop of them. (usually after wolf howl somtimes if it’s ready)
Traited, roots also works as a condi cleanse, and gives you fury. So yea I never cared for SoP. Since I have over a half a dozen ways to evade, block, or use signets/wilderness skills to mitigate damage from condi to spikes.
Favorite combo as my longbow ranger was/is point black shot, into entangle, followed by howl from my wolf, into rapid fire, followed by swoop, pommel bash, then maul. If the whole thing hits the enemy is usually dead or near it, even if tanky. Not saying that combo is easy to pull off, but its what I like to do cause it’s fun
Course now with trait they will get entangled if you do point black shot… but if they get out of it.. just wait then hit them with your Entangle. Catching them again.. hehe
Immo is a conditoin, true, but unlike terror, a stunblock does not remove them. Which is perfect against so many enemies cause half the time they are running stability
Oh one more thing, if the roots are not destroyed they also work as a minor area denial.. meaning even if the thief shadowsteps out of them. If he goes back he’s caught by the roots cause they were lingering still… etc The enemy has to be careful not to walk back into them cause it will catch him again even after he’s escaped. Or at least that’s what used to happen ^^
edit: (one more thing, immo condition stacks, which is why before some rangers brought the spider, or the krytan hound, and Muddy terrain which is a wilderness skill, and benefits from the trait)
(edited by Crimson Shi.5047)
Sorry for so long a post! Hi all I ran across this, and thought why not share. My necromancer’s name is Lady De Muerte which is spanish for Lady of Death. She does have a backstory that I had put alot of thought into since the beginning of GW2. In Gw1 I had created a necromancer then named Shinigami for GW1 Factions.
A necromancer, and martial artists, she had combined both. Using her connection to mysticism she invokes the power of her chi to perform her skills. She had helped defeat Shiro, and again assisted in destroying the minions of Primordus. She disagrees with the emperor’s desire to shut himself off to the rest of the world and takes her leave, later taking Lady as her disciple.
A noblewoman by birth to the Velasquez family which is a derivation of “Vela” which means crow. She begins her training, continuing her quest to become stronger, and a guardian of balance which ultimately led her to face and and help in defeating Zhaitan with the heros of Tyria.
Lady’s training in her martial arts allows her to invoke Yan to conjure and request the aid of ancient spirits to fight by her side.
Flesh Golem – ancient warrior once again called to battle
Shadow Fiend – the ghost of an assassin
Bone Fiend – once an archer in a previous life known for their skill with the bow
Bone Minions – spirits of faithful retainers who will die willingly for their master
Flesh Wurm – guardian spirit, famous in life for their protective nature
Shambling Horror – faithful bodyguards in life to past emperors
Jagged Horror – notorious killers whom had relished in bloodshed
Blood Fiend- a priest in life whom had healed the sick and injured
Wearing her skull mask to honor her ancestors, and the dead she continues her path to master her wushu style of necromancy. Having reached the next plateau of her training she has unlocked her spirit potential, using her martial arts, and magic to harm her enemies by corrupting their chi, causing wounds that bleed, toxicify the blood, make it so every step brings you closer to death, weakens your body, and even freezes your very heart and soul.
She is not evil nor good, but like her sifu before her, she believes in balance of Yin and Yang, light, and dark, life and death. Neither can exist without the other, the dead whom do not wish to rest, so called demons, the dragons and even other necromancers whom wish to abuse or create imbalance, are her typical enemies.
(Her wushu would be a mystical and dark variation of Tien-Hsueh or Hien-Hsueh, touch mastery martial arts which targets the enemies vital points on their body)
again apologies for the long post!
2nd pic is her having opened herself up to Yan, letting it share into her soul

Another underwater boots bug (jump in and out of the water). This is a transmuted Vigil boots armor and a Vigil Leg piece (not sure if the bug related).
I cannot recall if I had this bug before transmutation.
Same, as my friend Blue Comet said, my leggings go white red on the upper part of my pants when ever I go underwater. It’s very annoying as I wasn’t having this problem before until this latest update?
