While I’ll always love and play necro, it does kitten me off that they’re supposed to be the selfish dps class yet they have the 2nd lowest dps in the game and very little party support
The 2nd lowest DPS number is done on a assumption of every class having 25 might and 25 vuln, with 100% fury uptime.
If you parse classes with only their own native boons, necros jump way up the DPS rankings due to being able to self-stack might and vuln on top of crit enhancing traits.
Necro is the selfish DPS class. The problem is that all relevant content is group content where PS warriors exist.

Stupid argument. This is not a solo game, and ele self generates might and vulnerability, as does PS greatsword warrior.
Sword revenant generates 10+ might, permafury, and stacks vulnerability with sword auto and deals 30k DPS easy.
Necro self generates 25 stacks of both without needing special foods/runes and sigils, compared to inconsistent might & vuln gen on other classes. Necro also provides vamp aura, and last rites.
Necro in PvE is the most self-sufficient class in the game. That’s why the dps is low. Is it too low even considering that? Probably. But to expect necro to be anywhere near the top dps is unrealistic.

The lowest should be the ones that provide the most party support. As stated many times, Necros have very low party support. And yes we have benchmark dps. Necro power isn’t even listed as it is that bad.
Power necro self generates might, and self generates vuln. That’s why the DPS is lower.

My mother killed it post-nerf on her condi ranger without dying once, and that was with her missing half the special action keys.
I killed it on a viper’s necro pre-nerf with only one death. (would have been 0 if shroud hadn’t bugged)
Mother aside the general consensus in my guild is that the post-nerf fight is a total joke now on any class.

The biggest joke is that after 4 years they still didn’t bother to address no valid path bugs around/on nodes (e.g. in Foefire) but roof deemed to be broken and needing attention /tableflip
You do realize that they intentionally put NVP points around nodes on every map, as kiting options? It’s not a bug.
Why do you think they put in those NVP pillboxes around Coliseum’s mid point? It’s standard design.
I have never had any camera issues on the mid point, even when using the torches/sconces to kite on… To be fair, I can also not remember ever seeing anyone make any sort of remark about camera issues on Khylo’s mid point.
I’ve been killed a dozen times over by the roof. The most recent being the day before the patch where the camera clipped through a rafter when I was trying to 1v1 a warrior. I was shieldbash combo’ed before I could fix the camera.
It’s simply one of those things that you deal with, I reckon. Maybe it’s due to a difference in camera setting (collision etc.), but that’s up to the player to fix and should not ever warrant a ridiculous dumbing down of a map accompanied by indirect nerfs to mobility classes/buffs to (ranged) bunker players.
It’s completely unreasonable design to have a functionality that works consistently in every part of the game, but then make it unreliable in one specific section of one specific map.

Roof issue got fixed by a treb shot,
The broken roof causes more camera issues than the unbroken roof. The issue was always the rafters, and breaking the roof left the center rafters + bits of raggled debris. than play havoc with the camera.

Matches can snowball even at relativity equal skill. Look at the ESL tournaments where 200+ point deficits are common.
AFK’ers, and rage quitters have nothing to do with the matchmaker. Matchmaker cannot control how a player behaves.
Leader boards of NA – EU are separate but MM paired players from EU with NA.Cause i saw that way while friend played ( EU ) vs Helseth ( NA ) and his toxic behavior ingame.
Helseth is a EU player not a NA player.

There are not enough concurrently queuing legendary players for the MM to make legendary only matches. They would have a infinite queue.
The matchmaker has to give matches. Infinite queue time is not a design option.
About the players who do not use any range protection.Sorry to break it to you those where even platinum ranked and even legendary.
Perhaps their build didn’t have it. Perhaps it was on cooldown. Perhaps they where saving it, anticipating a greater need for it.

If they bundle 4 LS episodes in one big package and market it as an expansion how much different is it from Heart of Thorns in terms of content? Heart of Thorns was considered bad by many players for the price tag, what if we got Heart of Thorns for free? Would people still call it a failure?
HoT was more than just map zones. It brought Masteries. It brought gliding. It brought new traitlines and skills. It brought raids. It brought new gear types and legendries.
HoT massively changed the game. LS is not even on the same level.
Was the response underwhelming because those “digital expansions” lacked content or because of the term they used? There are expansions and there EXPANSIONS.
They where underwhelming because they where not real expacs, and everyone knew it. Gaming sites gave those digi expacs no more coverage than any other random content patch. Doing the same with LS would net the same result.

Those jumps were obnoxiously easy to make and the port spots were even easier.
The problem was that one side’s JP could be completed faster with much less risk of failing.

No Sorry Can’t agree with you we had previous even this season example that MM algorithms cant work.Why cause you have people who get ingame Carried or lucky to be in a team that gets them win.Then they get higher rating then they are.Just as example like few persons i know who got around this season 1600+ and down.While in reality their rating should be lower but hey thx to win its different story.You get a number assigned its all about numbers.Then you got RNG in place if you get lucky.

Played this season on friends acc from personal taste player skill quality THIS season was poor compared to season 4 where i played over 550 matches. Season 4 was enjoying it but every time in season 4 i hit 13-18 straight wins in row i got as solo paired against Adjured 3 times in row with randoms and lost.What i found very disappointing then players in team toxicity and witch hunt.While found personally very regretting that always players put blame on team and start witch hunt.
If you are winning 18 times in a row then yes you should be getting matches against high level players. The entire point of a skill ranking system is to put you against better and better opponents until you reach the level where your opponents are better.
This last Season 5 was a joke was watching most of time saw that few things that i disliked.
1.Removal of region restriction due to lack of players.
What? EU and NA are still separate.
2.After a while when players are not in same skill range MM paired top ranked leg players with mid and low ranked just to provide matches.
Obviously that is not ideal, but it’s necessary.
Players have to be given matches, Players bought this game to play it, not sit in queue. The game has to give players matches within a reasonable timeframe. This is a constraint that cannot be ignored.
3.Player quality very poor,players not swapping skills out or classes to counterplay. Majority did not even use skill that prevent dmg from range ( arrows ) attack.
And those bad players have a nice comfy spot in bronze.
4.We still have no ingame VOIP but with the current system of duo and solo quene
toxicity is high cause it.
5.AFK – Match-manipulators who even threw games for gold was higher then previous seasons.
These two points have absolutely nothing to do with the matchmaking algorithm at all. The matchmaker is for matchmaking not policing player behavior.

Going to repeat my self from last year.Even if the population is low their biggest mistake is using a automated written program to scrap people for match.There will be never equal teams its just RNG. They even removed Region lock on MM system leting EU and USA and other region players pair up together and vs each other!Only for teh sake to provide a match.No one push button program or script will ever work!The only system that worked without flaw is to make website like this : http://iccup.com/en/ or the ESL webpage. Algorithms are necessary. There are too many players to be using anything less than a automated system.
Moreover algorithms do work. Matchmaking isn’t witchcraft, there has been tons of work and discussion done on it, by both the gaming industry and academia. Glicko2 has it’s flaws and it’s not the optimal algorithm, but it works well.
Players have this weird idea that good matchmaking means that every match is 500-490. The problem is that even among perfectly equal teams this doesn’t happen consistently. Human performance is not deterministic. Conquest is a sensitive gamemode and something a simple as a single lost 1v1 can easily snowball a match.

Even in the real world, there are landmarks, maps, GPS, locals, something to help you along the way. In HoT the map is always above or below you and there is no friggin way to tell. Landmarks are covered by acres of forest.
Navigation is easy in the real world because humans have spent centuries building infrastructure to make it easy.
In the real world if you leave civilization and go out into a deep forest you will find that navigation becomes much more difficult than HoT is. Maguuma is a untamed jungle. There are no roads, there are no signposts.
While intuitiveness of level design is a interesting discussion, bringing realism arguments into it is not a productive argument.

Expansions are really the only thing that’ll bring people in. People simply don’t care about some patch an MMO gets, whereas expansions are much more visible.

Regular patches only help with retention. Unfortunately 100% retention rate never happens, which means games invariably have to start appealing to new players. And to do that a game needs something that will get headlines. Expansions bring headlines. Expansions bring attention. Expansions bring players.

Honestly, I never saw the Khylo roof as a visibility problem or as a camera issue. If anything, it removed advantages to classes with porting abilities. I’d like to see some side point camera/layout rework on Skyhammer, because it’s still horrible – not sure who’s idea it was it to make ranked.
It definitely was a camera issue once the roof was destroyed. I had a case just the other week where the camera bugged through a rafter right when a warrior went for his headbutt combo, resulting in my death during the 0.5sec I couldn’t see.
I’ll go back through some of my recordings see if I can find a good example of the camera issue.

The roof changes where necessary. The camera obstructions from the broken roof caused way too many avoidable downs.
The JP change is also good, the side favoritism was real on the old ones.
The teleport obstruction on the new kyhlo needs to be standardized though.

The problem with this is that if the player can place the wurm regardless of pathing, then the player cannot know if his teleport will work until he tries to use it.
This would lead to a lot of deaths from necros trying to use the wurm to escape only to belatedly discover that they can’t teleport.

Until everybody starts at 600 bronze and climb to the top, the leaderboards will mean absolute nothing. 40-1 is the perfect exemple of how placements matches ruined the principle of a fair competition to the top.
Start rating is arbitrary though. Lowering it to 600 will just mean that everyone’s rating is lower that what it would have been.
The value of a given rating is relative. The start point is meaningless.

If not for shroud and shouts, even power builds would have a hard time with Reaper.
BB does wonders for power necro’s LF generation, and chill is a excellent anti-kite. Reaper would be used in power builds regardless of shroud. Condi would never take it.
I’m just salty that in this meta condi necro’s viability is exclusively penned on scepter auto corrupt. The cracks in condi necro have been showing since the deathly chill nerf, and they are getting worse and worse with every patch.

I feel like the reaper shroud falls very short in condi builds. Its great for power builds but kinda sucks with condi. I think it was designed back when chill was doing a ton of damage and its condi components were balanced with that in mind, but then chill damage got nerfed a huge amount, while the shroud application of it remained the same.
So 1st and foremost, I would give reaper shroud, or any shroud, equal footing regardless if the player runs power or condi builds, perhaps via traits, or shroud skills themselves.
The entire reaper traitline was never designed with condi in mind. cNecro just takes reaper because the shroud is better (core shroud is a joke) and shouts. If it wasn’t for reaper’s shroud and shouts no condi necro would ever touch the spec.

That would nerf core warrior really hard, while doing little to Berserker. The entire reason AH is 15sec is so that both Core and Berserker can maintain 100% uptime.

Try moving quietly through the woods wearing an loose ankle length coat or a long flowing cape attached to your posterior parts. Let’s see if they don’t get hung up on every thorn and bush in your path. There’s a reason why soldiers and hunters don’t wear bulky outfits with long lengths of hanging cloth while moving across the landscape.
Pre cold war soldiers would wear trenches when traveling in foul/cold weather. (assuming they where properly equipped)
Also proper trenchcoats are heavy treated fabric, they should not get caught on shrubs.

Core Necro might need a buff… who knows. But what I do know is, I can still kick kitten with it and so can you, if you play smart and know your limits.

I ran a nearly identical during offseason. Was definitely fun.
I disagree with your rune choice. The only advantage sunless has over nightmare is the 6pc. But with 180sec elite that isn’t much of a trade. The transfer on Nightmare has good synergy with plague’s self-bleed, and is even better if you have other condi on you.
Outside of elite usage nightmare is just plain better.
I think you are overvaluing sigil of rage too.
