+1 on this
I actually rolled a normal sized charr to mitigate this a little. Which sucks, cause we want to be in your face big IMO.
I actually did experiment a lot, pretty much any weapon combination was tested, barring Longbow (just don’t like that). Had some fun and average effectiveness, but nothing compared to this. It’s amazing how easy it is to get 3-5 stacks from the bloodlust, which gives you an edge in every fight after acquirement.
I have to say, this build, like any other, has it’s issues with 1v1. For instance, Mesmers with Null Field or the boons-for-conditions-swap-skill are tricky, as are players that use stability a lot. But it seems possible to circumvent this due to the great survivability. And the value of this build in any fight other then 1v1 is huge.
I was ready to accept my warrior was useful just for PvE and a little in WvW. I really like the aesthetics of the warrior, so I wouldn’t like to reroll (which, admittedly, is not really nessecary to play sPvP off course). Keep it up!
Honestly I think a ranger is better equipped to a condition damage build with long range weapons then a warrior. Combining longbow/rifle will screw you against heavy melee characters that know what they’re doing. Also, any character with decent condition removal capability will outright own you laughing. And most people make sure to at least have 2 skills to remove conditions.
I really only see the combination being effective in keep defense or assault. If that’s your thing, go for it. Otherwise accept that your build will probably be inferior to a lot of other warrior builds, or rangers for that matter.
I also disagree that you will be able to take on a lot of classes 1v1 like this, you should expect to lose most 1v1’s against equally skilled players. The biggest damage dealers you have (which won’t deal heavy damage anyway if you stack condition) are slow attacks of which most, if not all damage can be avoided simply by dodging.
One more thing, the 1 sec immobilize trait is best utilised on a build with two weapon sets that can inflict cripple. With rifle/longbow, you will only profit from it with the rifle 2 ability, which is a waste. Empower will be more useful.
Amazingly fun build to use man, very nicely put together. I’m quite new to PvP (just rank 14) but this is really a pick-up-and-pwn kind of build.
There are quite a few ways to eploit the bloodlust sigil. Never gave on-kill stack bonuses much thought, but omg they are good!
Sure thing! I’m at work now, but I’ll be on at ~16:30. Dunno about Kaibon.
Gonna try this later. Looks great!
@Warsoul: You won’t have the same result from power versus crit, because crit can proc on hit effects. Power needs to be stronger by a lot to be in balance with crit.
If it were really as unbalanced as you’re saying, wouldn’t everybody be using 1h weapons? As it is, GS is the most popular weapon, and for good reason. I agree with fony that balance is to be found in the skills mostly, although that can be debated.
Growing stronger…
It won’t work all that well, unless you’re not taking any damage (like if teammates can soak it all up). Otherwise you’ll get kitten by anything with decent health in PvE, and anything with half a brain in PvP. You need a lot of skill to survive as a burst warrior, and even more to be useful.
On a more practical note, the trait that gives 40 precision per unused signet is not very useful when you reach higher lvls, do to the effect on crit chance being reduced the higher lvl you get (diminishing returns). I think it nets you like ~8% crit chance at lvl 80, not really worth it.
I do not agree with your opinion about ele’s or guardians being better bunkers, they just make for different ones. As such, I don’t classify my build to be a bunker in the full sense of the word, more of a well functioning hybrid. If I wanted a bunker I’d be using a shield.
And off course certain builds are better then others. Your build is well-crafted and easy to understand, it’s just too hard to begin with. You will die a lot, period. Even experienced burst-warrior users die often, it’s part of the build really. I’m from the same old-school mindset as you are, started out with burst also. Just trying to save TS some time.
That doesn’t mean I’m saying you shouldn’t go burst eventually. You should explore your entire character sooner or later (although this aspect should be explored later). Just get a feel for how your character works in PvP before you play a high-risk high-reward build.
Also, when starting out in PvP, you play a lot of pick-up games in which it can be nice to be able to survive a 2v1 situation and walk away. As a burst warrior you either have to be very skilled, very supported or very lucky (or a combination of these) to do so. You won’t soon encounter the first two of those in pick-up PvP.
Question about this. Does it have an internal cooldown that’s not referenced to in the description? I’m getting the feeling it doesn’t always apply the stacks of might on swapping if I swap weapons a lot… I use the warrior trait that reduces weapon swapping cooldown.
And I am talking about swapping in combat, just to be sure.
I’ve created a Mace+Mace / Axe+Warhorn build that centers around surviving bursts, healing up quickly, then retaliating with consistent damage, withering down opponents. It provides great mobility, survivability, functional damage and awesome support capability. You will win a lot of 1v1’s also, just because this game is so burst focused. You can PM me if you want some details. I’d have to check the exact stat-allocation and amu/sigils/runes etc.
IMO it’s not a good idea to start with a build like the one posted above, no offense. But just running around trying to own people with the suberb damage warriors can actually dish out, is very difficult to master. You will be extremely squishy, and will die a lot more then you will be killing people. That’s not a fun way to start.

Hi there new guild mate!
Beasts, Elves And Men, or BEAM for short, will soon shine it’s light on all aspects of the game. Our goal is to enhance the experience of the game from the start by playing together with new guildmates. We are mostly low-med level players (~20 to ~55, with a few lvl 80’s), but that doesn’t make us (or you) noobs. Higher level players are just as welcome as those just starting their adventure. Some of us also share quite a bit of PvP experience already, if that’s more your cup of thea.
We play casually, with a hint of seriousness. Hardcore gamers are just as welcome as the more off-and-on type of player. Like you, we have a social life, and haven’t forgotten the importance of it. That being said, we do have our goals set to achieve in this game, and are very driven to do so. Getting to lvl 80, roflstomping kittens in PvP and tilting the War of Worlds in our favor – we aim to achieve those goals together.
What we can offer you:
-a unique opportunity to join a guild from the beginning;
-activity in all aspects of the game and quite a bit of knowledge already;
-a fun and fair ranking system;
-three enthousiastic guild ‘leaders’ with lots of MMO experience;
-active guild chat, we always have something to say;
-no obligations, you can get as involved in guild business as you like.
What we ask:
-like-minded people who really want to be part of a guild;
-to speak either English or Dutch;
-switching to Ring of Fire is not obligated, but preferred off course to be able to play together;
-be democratic; we are. Majority rules;
-don’t be a kittenhole, treat people how you want to be treated;
-no age minimum, we measure maturity as behaviour, not a number.
There is no obligation to represent us fulltime. Should you already have a nice PvP/PvE/WvW guild you wish to stay in, don’t shun to join us for another aspect of the game. Who knows what alliances can be formed at a later stage.
If this all sounds good to you, or you want to get some more information, contact me here or either of our two talent scouts ingame:

BEAM it up!

Moa is when they turn you into a Moa bird.. You get useless moa abilities and turn back to normal after 10 seconds. It’s basically the most corny skill in the game, quite a lot of fun to use. You are, however, basically saying you don’t have skill if you use this.

Hi all!
Still looking for a guild. I play my Mesmer in PvP, and both Mesmer and Warrior in PvE. Been focusing on PvP mostly, which I love, but am venturing more and more into PvE.
What I look for in a Guild is mostly fun people to play with. The game is fun on your own, but can be more enjoyable in a Guild, or so I presume. I do wish to play PvP more structured, and, after playing some more PvE, would like to play WvW with an organized group. Athough I do have a mic, I prefer to listen and type most of the time.
What I can offer is decent activity. Always willing to help out where I can, and designing builds for any profession is a hobby of mine. I’m currently on Far Shiverpeaks, but willing to swap if nessecary.
PM if you need any more info. Looking forward to join a new guild!
Cygnus
Hi all!
Currently looking for an allround guild to join! As not to waste your time (or mine :-P), there are a few things I look for in a guild.
I’ve played PvP a bit, around 130 pick-up games. Mostly just to find out which profession I’d enjoy playing in the long run, before jumping into PvE and wasting hours on some character I’ll end up rerolling. No tournaments yet, but that’s something I want to start doing when I’ve found nice and somewhat organized guildmates to fight beside.
Mesmer is my main character, on PvE I’m lvl~20. Also played Elementalist (lvl 25 now) and a little bit of necro/warrior. Currently I’m playing more PvE with my Mesmer mostly, to be able to join in on WvW in time (and not get brutally facepalmed by any guard NPC). Have a lot to learn on PvE and WvW, which both seem like a lot of fun.
What I can offer, is being online on a semi-regular basis. I play around 10-15 hours a week. Won’t turn pro anytime soon, but I am serious when it comes down to PvP. Also enjoy designing builds for any profession, and generaly helping out where I can. I do tend to read a lot of information about games I play, so I have a little bit of knowledge to gladly share. I have access to a mic, so if nessecary I can join in on live communication as well.
I’m 25 y/o btw, if that matters to you. Dutch also, again, if that matters. Currently on Far Shiverpeaks. I like it, but I can switch in order to play WvW off course.
Have fun,
Cygnus
Hi all!
25 y/o gamer looking for a guild, preferably on Far Shiverpeaks (which is where I’m on now). As I would like to play some WvW in the long run, and I have some R/L friends on this server, I’d prefer staying on it. Also, apparently this server has a lot of people with the same nationality as I do (Dutch), which is nice, but not a prerequisite.
My main focus has been PvP to determine what character I would enjoy playing in the long run. Although I’ve only just played pick-up 8v8 games (played ~130 of those). Would like to venture into tournaments also, but not with random people who don’t know what they’re doing. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t have experience playing tournaments either. But I have a sense of teamplay and I’m a fast learner.
I play a Mesmer, and creating original and unique builds is what I like doing. Not just for Mesmer, that’s just the job I enjoy playing most. Also experimented with Elementalist, Warrior, Necro and Thief. I can say I’m a helpful person, so any knowledge I’ve gained thusfar will be gladly shared. Now that I’ve decided on what profession to play, I’ll also want to do some more PvE, and, like I said before, WvW in time.
I play around 10-15 hours a week, so I won’t turn Pro anytime soon, but do like serious teammates to join. Been using Skype to chat, open to other ways of communication if nessecary. Would be nice to join a rather large guild that doesn’t feel like your getting lost in the masses, but does have a nice group of people online on a regular basis.
Greets,
Cygnus

I play a mesmer with pure condition damage, and it’s actually pretty easy to beat burst users 1v1, sometimes even 1v2.. Necro should be able to do fine as well..
Maybe you’re build needs a little polishing?
