not being able to win 1v2’s mostly due to the downed mechanic is a huge complaint of mine as well. as long as it’s in game, i really don’t see much change happening regarding that though.

if they want the eternal battlegrounds map to stop being constantly flooded, they need to give the other 3 maps a castle or something similar of their own. and it would also help if the other 3 maps weren’t completely identical.

Of all the things that may or may not need fixing, I for one do not want them to spend much time on “extra skins” right now. I am sure in a year or two there will be so many types of armor skins that no two players will look alike.

i’m not even asking for new skins. surely it’s not hard to take some skins from PvE or wherever and throw them on the invaders gear. looking like a lvl 1 @ 30 something doesn’t feel right.

just hit lvl 30 and am still seeing the lvl 1 gear models. How much further down the road until there are different skins?

kill shot is the easiest ability in the game to dodge. and if it happened right from the start like you said you should have had the endurance to do so. user-error.

but yes, smaller elite guilds have no place in WvW when an opposing guild can field drones in 10x the amount.

@nok ever try running a staff illusion tank build? 5 second cooldown on teleport = warriors are as much a threat as a kitten.

throw the second life bar on juggernaut (like necros get) and you might see some use, especially for bunkers (the few warriors who do that anyway).

a well played mesmer simply can’t die 1v1 against most class’/specs. i can only name a few specs spanning all classes that can kill me 1v1 (and admittedly i stand no chance against them).

I keep reading that the 100-blades warrior is OP, or at least, it’s a viable build. But does this mean it’s the only viable build? I like to build tanky, but so far sPvP has brought me to believe that it’s really no use. This would mean I would HAVE to build like DPS, which isn’t very diverse at all.

the bane of warriors atm. the class has had 1 competitive viable build which had a nerf right before release i think it was, and every other build can’t compare. trying to be a bunker, support, or ranged spec is nearly futile against a competent team. as more and more people realize just how easy it is to counter/avoid frenzy > bulls > hundred blades, the GS spec is slowly losing it’s usefulness. i too grow tired of using a GS, it’s like watching the same movie everytime i enter a tournament. but until other specs are on par with it, we’re boned.

lol well you don’t want the actress who does the fem norn voice. that’s got to be the most bored voice actor I’ve ever heard in a game.

frenzy stomping doesn’t kill the target at the end of the animation.

in my roughly 150 tournament games, I’ve come across 1 rifle warrior in a “serious” team. he was no slouch but still couldn’t hold his own against me as GS and others on my team in 1v1. the incredibly easy to dodge burst skill really hurts damage output but not as much as the weapon being single target. cleave damage from a GS > rifle pierce any time any day.

what’s the base % of damage reflected before attack power comes into play to modify it?

i think it’s trying to communicate.

frenzy stomping is a notorious bug. half the time you have to stand still for a second after stomping to make sure it registers.

i sometimes use GS with, surprise, frenzy and bull rush. then when that’s done i go back to ranged.

it’s the biggest troll to get armor dyes in pvp chests and not be able to use them in pvp

one trick that’s been reliable for me is to fight in sword n board mode at the beginning of a fight, shield bash some seconds in to the fight, and if it connects quickly switch weapons to frenzy bulls charge etc.

i tried that earlier but despite the screenshots having a larger file, the quality doesn’t look any different than the standard one we have now. the BWE HD screenshots were saved in JPEG format and took less space than the bitmap format yet looked 100x better.

it is. but less so as the days go by and people learn just how easy it is to avoid granted you’re playing certain classes like the ones you mentioned. but still, success is much more high when entering late to a fight in progress as whoever’s fighting may have already used their stability cd’s or other tricks that can counter it.

the other screenshot key is stereoscopic which is for 3D screenshots. I’m just looking for the hi-def one that was in the first and second BWE.

in the BWEs the game had a HD screenshot key which appears to have been removed. is there a way to take screenshots of that quality anyone?

what of the spvp update today? we have no idea what changed/improved.

use sword n board as backup to the greatsword. it buys me enough time for the greatsword cooldowns to come back up, preferably using bash before switching.

it’s been awhile since i bought a gold chest but don’t those sometimes have glory boosters? when i hit rank 20 two days ago i must have bought 30 copper chests collecting the mats needed to make the dolyak set i wanted and didn’t notice a single glory booster.

that’s it right there. a lot of builds seem to do well in 8’s because it’s more zerg friendly. anything and everything can work in WvW. when it comes to 5’s where people need the ability to either 1v1 or bunker a point reliably, warrior only has greatsword for the former and nothing for the latter. with a hundred tournament games under my warrior, the vast majority was as greatsword because it can reliably 1v1. few as hammer bunker but i drop like a sack of bricks. or i can go on my mes and bunker a point for half the match against 1 or 2 if the classes don’t counter mes.

there’s two pvp versions, both of which can previewed from the pvp locker. the one set can be made with free tournament tokens, crystals, powder, and the gear tokens from the glory vendor. the other one can be made with dolyak tokens (rank 20) and crystals, powder, and the gear tokens. for the latter set, i also made a piece with a sliver, so i dunno what has the greater % chance.

the game rewards the zerg and not the lone player being a factor to their team’s victory. so many times when playing as a mesmer troll I’ve kept 2-3 enemies at their closest point most of the match while the rest of my team zergs the other two collecting all the kill points. at the end of the match i may come out with as much as 10-20 points while the rest are 200+

not enough mesmers realize how incredibly powerful the group stealth elite is yet. you’ll see less moa mesmers as they figure out what the bigger game changer is.

and you ninja’ed the other team’s mob too right?

lol indeed. sometimes when i’m killed before the effect wears off i respawn and die again inside spawn. or getting autobalanced with vengeance and dying in my new team’s spawn. or on map change. or zoning back into the mists. that debuff really doesn’t let go.

i hate it too but i imagine it has enough influence in terms of class balance for them to just yank it from the game.

it’s becoming boring because the number of viable builds in spvp (more so 5’s) is limited to two, maybe three weapons.

lol same. it has everything i hate about spvp.. siege weapon, npcs, and underwater combat. god forbid we get a map without any gimmicks.

Vengeance tooltip text straight from the wiki. But the “normally” part is anything but. Why is it that a warrior in vengeance can’t capture/contest a point, but downed enemies can rally off of the soon-to-be defeated warrior? In group fights this is two strikes going against the warrior and can really screw over his team. Vengeance should either let warriors cap/contest or not allow enemies to rally.

I’ve seen the odd rifle warrior who seems to do quite a bit of damage (with raw power this is) not sure if they are just running it with the greatfaceroll or have a separate build set out for it. It’s kinda hard to judge how warriors stand at the moment since basically 100% of them are all about charging at you and blowing HB.

as did i, but like almost anything else they go down in seconds to the greatsword. needing both kiting and offensive utilities, and not having enough room for them, doesn’t make rifles that great imo.

off topic but i wanna ask you two this.. when using frenzy, does stomping not work only half of the time? like you have to stand there for a second later to make sure it goes through.

I’ve tried the following builds so far (not all in tourney):

trillion blades
hammer shouts / banners / physical utilities
dual wield swords / axes
rifle bleeds
sword n board dps / bunker
mace n board bunker

simply put, nothing I’ve tried is as viable as greatsword, both as roamer and bunker.

in regards to the bunker builds, shields don’t provide enough defensive value. hammers are O.K., but don’t last as long as other class’ bunker builds. regen banner trait just doesn’t provide enough regen. shout heals feels lackluster as well, although the condition removal is nice. if anything, hammer w/ physical utilities served me the best in buying my team the most time to come to my aid. in the end, i’ve had more success in taking and holding points solo with a greatsword, just because i can reliably kill my wanna-be point taking victim. and if it’s more than 1, well, I’m not fairing much better as a hammer build anyway.

and then we come to roamer/dps builds. lets see who’s as viable as the greatsword… no one! dual wielding anything is an absolute joke. hammer dps is alright at best, but shines in small team fights.

So what do warriors have in 5’s besides greatsword?
