I cant seem to play anything other than my Ele. When I try another class I just get bored extremely fast and quit because nothing seems to be as involving. Pretty much every other class seems to be just spam the same 3 skills over and over again till you fall asleep. I always keep going back to my main because the constant attunement dancing means I use 3x the skills as every other class. Im always mashing something different which is fun.
Im looking for something different when I dont feel like running with a raid force. Would like to try maybe soloing, scouting for the main zerg, or running with a Havoc Group. I refuse to play thief. Thinking about maybe Engineer or Mesmer.
If you enjoy your ele so much you should stick to it and find a dedicated WvW guild that run in groups of 15-20, having a decent ele is a rare catch
yea I love the Ele but just want something to mess around with when I dont feel like big fights. Probably going Mesmer. Been playing one in sPvP and its a lot of fun.

that doesnt even make sense. We dont need to be divided up we have more than enough people online for things to be fun with constant action. Theres always commanders on usually at any time of the day. On low tiered servers are there always commanders on even at prime time? Are there always large battles to be found?
Never done much sPvP before usually only do WvW so figured I would try it out. Have gotten 3 wins in 2 hours. Its like WoW alliance all over again. How exactly do you stop losing by 200 points every single match? Or does it matter if you never win? Also how do you win when its like 4-5 thieves on every enemy team?
Nothing like tanking a 30 player group, tagging every single one of them with some good dps, seeing them being crushed by your party and receive 1 bag of loot for the effort ^^

i dont think anything is more RNG than WvW. Did that last night on my Ele. I cycled through my spells 4-5 times on an enemy group of about 20. I didnt get a single loot bag. I didnt even get a single blue, green, or salvage scrap.
i always wondered where do my loot bags go if I die before I pick them up? I run back to the fight spot and nothing there.
since all 3 servers will be running zergs at the same time on all of the maps isnt that called balance? If you see enemy zerg just report it in TS or Map Chat so your Zerg can handle it.
Engineer skill cap is high.
Mesmer is doable and can be played easily. It might get a little boring if you run blackwater build.
If you want the most action and challenge, it’s engineer for you. On top of very awesome skill animations and access to funny kits, it is also very hard to play.
cant be harder than trying to solo as a Staff Ele.

yea SBI is too high.
They just need to give the players a form of defiance (immunity to CC, which immobilize seems to be a part of), and this nonsense would stop.

Does this just seem stupid to anyone else? Why should we show our enemy what we are planning? Any decent player is going to know whats coming based on the attunement I am in. Remove the attunement from the buff bar. Why do we even need that in the first place? I mean are some players so dumb that they forget what attunement they are in unless they can see the icon?
AP = achievement points. The attack power stat in the hero panel is meaningless so there would be no reason to use that as a requirement.
well that seems like an even dumber requirement. I have close to 3k and never even stepped foot inside a dungeon. APs dont mean anything.
can someone tell me how you get 5k+ AP? My Ele has zerker trinkets with rubies, zerker staff, and every piece of armor also has AP on it and Im only at 3135. Maybe its because Im using 20/0/0/30/20?
If all skills were single target, wouldn’t it benefit larger numbers even more? I thought the argument was the AOE cap needed to be removed for better WvW, not eliminated completely.
For an organized group, massive single target damage is an instagib of the others. I remember the “spike” groups of GW1 (pre IWAY group tactics) where they would target one person and “spike” on the count of 3. That person would go from full health to 0 in about a second, nothing would save them short of Aegis being up. This was in 8v8 play, imagine the damage output when scaled to 50v50.
That’s what I mean. Removing AOE – ridiculous rebalancing aside – just changes it to focusing on a player instead of an area.
i dont understand how people think this would be better? If you think you die fast now with AoE circles everwhere imagine how fast you die if 40 people decide to focus you down. Forget about playing a Mesmer or Ele. Literally Everyone would reroll thieves.
just want to add that in order to do acceptable AoE damage I have to constantly rotate through the following
Fire 2
Fire 5
Water 2
Air 5
Earth 2
Counting F1-F4 to swap attunements thats 9 keys that I use every single large scale fight. Thats more skills than most classes use and Im not even counting my 2 heals, a snare, and attacks Im mashing because the good stuff is on cooldown. Then theres always making sure im positioned correctly because I die if someone sneezes on me. So how is AoE easymode again?
The devs have now starting kicking and banning these afkers now so hopefully having a 72 hour timeout (should be longer IMHO) will teach them a lesson.

I dont understand one thing about AoE though. How is it sometimes I can stand inside half a dozen red circles and take almost no damage. Then other times I go from 100%-dead in seconds?

Item X is priced at 1500 gems, but I buy 2000 gems.I now have 500 gems left, but next week I see an item I want for 600 gems. Since I already have 500 gems, doesn’t hurt for me to make another purchase.

u missed my point. Im not talking about why are gem packages not related to certain purchases. I want to know why when I want X amount of gems I am forced to raise the amount Im willing to spend silver by silver. We should be able to just punch in the amount of gems to buy when using gold NOT RL MONEY. If I need 250 gems for example I type in 250 gems rather than 15 gold 37 silver 76 copper and start changing that until I get to 250 gems.
Needed 1800 for a server transfer so bought 1600 and figured I would use gold on the remaining 200. Why are we forced to raise the price silver by silver until we find the exact number of gems we want to buy? Not to mention once I finally got it close to 200 the price of gems changed so I had to start over. Wouldnt it make more sense to just type in 200 gems and do it that way?

Make your choice based on WvW. PvE can always be guested while WvW can not.

theres a 50% chance to get a precursor. Either you get one or you dont.
I dont have any Dragon Chests because we always fail it.
But I have been farming LA heavily since Tuesday. Dont know how many hours but I have 277 Scarlet Slaying potions and 150 Hierlooms (( I dont farm rubble )) and at least 25 of each normal quaggan potion So opened more than my share of event bags and looted more than my share of mobs. I have gotten ONE exotic. Came from the 1200 rescue bag. But my MF is pretty bad only like 175% since I think MF is worthless in every game that has it so I refuse to use food and boosters for it.
if they’re doing something without touching their keyboard, that’s botting. You can report for that.
He is talking about afk people-that’s not a reportable offense.
its griefing. i have missed 1200 by less than 100 several times. Easily would have had a few of them if not for 6-7 AFKers. They are purposely trying to ruin part of the event (Getting 1200 rescues) so they are griefing which can be reported.
oh relax, they’re getting simple rewards. not every instance reaches the 1,200 mark. they barely reach 900.
i lost the last two with 1100. So yea AFKers griefed us.
Easy to fix this just add a miasma at the zone outs WPs where people always AFK. If you stand in it you get stacks and then die. If u die with a certain amount of stacks it ports you out.

Nah. Most important gear is a good server. If you are going up against 3 guild groups on every map all that bag space is wasted because u aint killing no one. Also being on a bad server as a WvW newbie can make you hate the game. When people are standing outside your main keep camping everyone cause your server sucks and not letting anyone by it will make you rage quit in a hurry
id like to see more keys turn up in game. GW2wiki says they can drop from mobs but im pretty sure thats a lie.
Anyone else really hate when their character says their line for getting really good loot only to find out it was not actually an item? I get all excited when opening bags from events and hear that only to find out it was some stupid crafting material I will never use. I be all like “Sweet an exotic!” Nope just more worthless Bloodstone dust let me add it to the 15 other stacks I have collecting dust on an Alt. Its like Christmas morning. Get all excited then BAM! dreams dashed.
Ele. Only class where you actually have to push more than 3 buttons, 1 in the case of Guardians.
Put rewards on the level of Escape from LA in WvW, and just see where the GW2 populations go.

1. no rewards. made around 125g this week doing LA and only had a single 1.25g exotic drop. It just throws money at you. On the other hand you dont make anywhere near that in WvW
2. most matches are over by the first of the week. why even bother when you are either up by 75k or down by 75k on Monday.
we just finished with around 1300 in an overflow. But from the looks of things 75% of the people were doing civs.
The rewards for turning in Blade Shards and Found Belongings seem very lacking. Salvage tools are pretty useless since most people run around with the 250 charge ones. Gathering tools again pretty useless since the cost for a stack of Orichalcum tools easily pays for itself before running out. Tome of knowledge I guess is nice. 10 levels for 1000 and 3 gold is obviously cheaper than getting a 400 TS for sure. The back item only takes around 3 stacks which leaves you with a lot left over with nothing to buy. But why no Pet? Or maybe 10,000 for an endless mystery quaggan tonic? Just seems like there could have been something a little more interesting to buy unless theres some mystery vendor somewhere I havent found yet.
I just have rows and rows of inventory space taken up by these things and dont really have anything to buy with them.
TESO is coming. WIll be nice to not have to deal with such bad balance issues.
just have to deal with the horrible controls.
Also DAoC wasnt all that different. Only real reward was DF. Also same problem with zergs as well. Although with no AoE cap it was easy for a few stunners/AoE mez and PBAoE classes to take out an entire zerg.

Op forgot to mention how easy it is to loot the temporary pass… I’m never lucky with loots, and already have 3, from somewhat 400 blue bags/5 times doing the LA event…

They just throw these things at you. Im up to 12 so far.
There is one thing any other major city doesn’t have: A mystic forge.
Soo all your arguments are invalid. due to having ALL services in a single town, it was the most convinient place.WvW shouldn’t be used as an alternative with all the queues. Even if it is queu less you would risk taking someone elses his place. For all I care the crafting stüations are removed from WvW and placed in gendarran fields instead. Crafting doesn’t belong in WvW, if you want to craft you go to a town!
Wouldnt this be considered griefing? If you are joining WvW, when there is a queue, and in now way will participate at all then you are purposely screwing over your server.

Have been in plenty of fights where our small 12-15 man group has won against twice as many enemies. 3:1 we can hold our own pretty well but eventually they wipe us. We only end up losing because for every 1 we kill 2 more join the fight and eventually we just cant keep up.
Yeah i suppose, you’re at least twice as good as any other player. every zerg of 40 people are just noobs compared to thy.
it just seems like WvW is about who has more numbers on the map and not who has the better players.
WvW is all about coverage if you fight the PPT war. My server can hold our own and more during our prime playing times. But we lost the PPT battle overnight and during the early day due to we have pretty much zero NA overnight and morning coverage. Sleep and work keep getting the way!!
