Kudzu does seem a lot cheaper to craft than Bolt. I already have Zap and 79 of the Charged Lodestones though. I could easily sell those Lodestones and buy almost all the Mats for Kudzu. Kudzu doesn’t even require Lodestones. Alas I have decided to continue on the path to Bolt and maybe try a 1hsword/axe build in the future see how I like that. Im ultimately going to have Sword/Warhorn somewhere in my WvW build after a lot of research. Thanks for all the comments everyone.

Seems like a good build for farming badges, going to give this a go before trying a Hammer/Sword build.

Why make bolt for a warrior? Hey, look at my kitten mobility set!! Until sword is actually seriously viable it just seems like someone who is putting a bodykit on their kittenty honda instead of investing in performance.

Would 1h Sword be better paired with something than a shield? Sword/Axe build Viable? I have had no issues with PVE content to this point. I haven’t entered Arah outside of story but I have a Zerker gear set in the bank for it since that seems what people look for in that dungeon. Everything else though no issues.

Outside of PVP, in a PVE Environment will a Main Hand Axe OffHand Sword Build work? In Fractals and Dungeons. I don’t mind grinding out a new gearset to try a new build. Wouldn’t mind pairing Frostfang up with my Jormag’s Breathe Sword

Currently on my Legendary quest, and I am at a crossroads. I’ve been playing as a 1hSword/Shield Warrior for awhile now. I like it but the damage output is kind of low. I run a heal/shout build and I use the p/v/t gearset. I have almost all my charged lodestones but I could easily sell them for the majority of the lodestones needed for Frostfang. Do the Axe Builds on this game do damage on par with greatswords or do a lot more damage than a 1h Sword Warrior? Before I finish up crafting my Legendary I would rather be useful to fractal/dungeon groups since I am pretty sure I’ll only be crafting 1 Legendary on this game.

I recently added a 1 GB EVGA GTX 560 TI to my computer that I got on a deal. I have a 650 watt psu but it only has 1 6 pin connector. I bought a molex converter and have everything hooked in properly. I run all my games now on my current build near max or max settings. When I play games like Starcraft 2, Diablo 3, my computer is fine, but when I play Guild Wars 2, my PSU gets kind of warm. Not hot to the touch or anything just kind of warm. Not sure if this is normal. I play Guild Wars 2 for maybe 1-2 hours a night and its fine. When I exit the game my psu is no longer warm after a few mins. This is the only game this happens for me with. I’m pretty new to pc gaming so I am just curious if this is a common for graphic intensive games.

I have GW2 set to the “Best Apperance” Settings with Supersample on. I run the game fine with no lag.

I think they purposely cap how much AR you can have to keep players from getting to high into fractals. Gotta wait for the slow trickle of Ascended Gear releases. Isn’t 45 the max AR right now anyway?

Same thing happened to me. I finished Daily Gatherer and Daily Leveler at the same time and I was awarded 2 daily chest, I too would like to keep the extra laurel ;p But I am posting here to let it know it happened to me.

You’ll do fine in paths 1-3.

Just wondering if anyone else noticed their Master Carver achievement progress not showing up. Not sure if I got the points taken away, just a little something unmajor I noticed.

Dropped about 36 gold(I only had 50 from level two characters and selling on the TP to begin with) on rare greatswords from the Auction House and was lucky enough to get a Dust and several exotics back. Made my gold back selling the exotics and went ahead and sold Dusk for 510 gold and using that gold to help fund the creation of a Bolt

Ran CoE Path 2 last night with a group

Level 80 Greatsword Warrior
Level 80 Mesmer
Level 80 Elementalist(stayed mostly fire)
Level 80 Elementalist(stayed mostly water)
and me a Level 80 1h/shield shout warrior.

The Mesmer and Eles were almost one shotted on every alpha fight. We made it through the dungeon just fine though. Learn the boss fights and you’ll be fine. It’s more challenging for sure but it’s more fun to me than res-rushing.

How do you get 2 Laurels a day?

Bolt is in the 10 percent of Legendaries I like better. I think when I priced mats on TP last night it was gonna cost me about 78 gold to make.

I recently found out about Jormag’s Breath, and wow. Am I the only person who thinks that looks better than 90% of Legendaries?!?! I have been slowly very slowly working on a Legendary bolt but I may have to cut into some of my funds and front the cost for Mats for that weapon.

No Sword/Board builds out there?

I spend most in dungeons. I am set on sword/shield even if its not the most viable build I just like the 1h swords :p

I am looking forward to being able to run Fractals. So hard to find a group on the same level, that is coming in this update I assume.

From 1 to 80 I have been a dual wielding Greatsword using Warrior(like many it seems). I do a lot of damage and my gear is mostly power/crit type stuff with superior soldier runes attached. Just wondering if anyone can help me come up with a viable build for 1h Sword/Shield Warrior. I am willing to take a dps hit, im trying to build a better warrior to support groups in dungeons and be able to take a lot of hits. Thinking of ditching my current exotic armor and trying to obtain a set of Power/Tough/Vit gear but not sure where to go from there.

I was going to make the Legendary but man the cost is crazy and the time to farm. Guess thats why they call it Legendary. I’m just kind of checking the TP on it. Today someone was willing to pay 480 gold for it. After anet cut i would be sitting at 432 Gold. I doubt I would ever acquire that much gold in this game ever. I have 2 level 80s and 1 with World Complete ran most of the dungeons/paths and combined I would say I’ve gotten about 75 gold total. It’s looking like a sell and horde the gold for later in the game’s life when maybe I acquire another precurseor(doubtful) or Legendaries are cheaper (more doubtful)

I recently found out you can get precrusors for Legendary weapons by combining 4 level 75 rare/exotics in the mystic forge. I never had an interest in Legendary Weapons before hand as the crazy mats kept me away but I decided to try my hand. I gave myself a 40 gold limit. Figured if I didn’t get a pre by 40 gold I was out(I only had 50 to my name anyway). I bought 100 Rare Greatswords spent about 36 or 37 gold something like that and ended up with a few exotics made probably 1/4th or better of my money i invested back and also ended up with a Dusk. I see I can get after the Anet percentage around 428 Gold. What would you guys do? Sell the Precursor and just get a cool looking exotic or go ahead and craft the Legendary?

Finished it up, really the stealth kits got me through solo mode I did run the events to open up Arah with the mass amounts of people who were in Cursed Shore. Cursed Shore I saw lots of people but the other two not so much. Good luck to anyone who comes to this thread trying to solo ORR. The Stealth kits are a life saver. Now off to finish up the Personal Story

I will take the advice here. Deff going to switch my abilities up tomorrow to make me more durable. Its my level 80 warrior im doing this on figured it would be easier on this character than my elementalist. Can you suggest some useful warrior skills for this?

I am currently trying to obtain 100 percent World Complete, I only have 2 of the Orr Zones left and you can tell these zones were designed for groups of players at a time. I don’t know if its just me but I never see anyone in these zones. I may run across the random from time to time but nothing like the older zones when I was leveling. So if you guys have any tips for me I would appreciate them.

One thing I have found useful is the Ash Legion Spy Kits. They cost 28 karma each and stealth you on use for 10 seconds. If your playing a class without stealth abilities, these are very handy when completing some of the skill challenges by yourself. I just run to the challenge pop the kit, the mobs unaggro, commune with the point and move on to the next one. The Spy Kits are sold in the Plains of Ashford zone, sold by a heart vendor at Victor’s Presidium.

I have done this JP everday since launch I have done it with a sylvari, human, and asura. What works for me on the asura is just waiting a second and letting everyone go ahead of you. Good luck

I am hearing about how hard the Toypoc Cancelled achievement is for keeping the Doylaks alive and the first group I joined did it on our first go. I was probably lucky. I agree it’s lame that you can’t join Toypoc or the CTF styled wintersday PVP game with friends. That’s weird design to me. You have two very team based game modes for the holiday and you can’t enter with your team. That would be like logging onto Battlefield 3 and not being able to play a match with your friends on your friends list.

I feel the need to edit and add that the changes made from Mad King and Lost Shores to this event were all good. They listened to feedback about the one time events and so on. I am sure that in the future on future events you will be able to join things like these with your party.

Why are the location events on weekdays [ie, WORKdays] and not on a weekend? I understand the whole ‘global’ aspect of the game but really? Everything drops at the same time on all servers, American and European? At least set the beginning at times where people actually might be home to participate – perhaps weekday evenings; and at times appropriate to the server time zones.

Because these are not one time events and can be completed either any time that day. In addition once the asura reaches LA you can complete them all then. Stop complaining, thus far they are doing it right this time.

Like he said this event last all day. It’s not a one time thing and they have come out and said in multiple forum posts on multiple threads that once the ship is in LA you can go back and complete all older events. They have listened to feedback and so far this looks like the best event yet.

Part of my Wintersday is coming is using the Winter is coming GOT theme as a prewarning of all the complaining over Jumping Puzzle difficulty, RNG chests etc etc. The list will go on. This event looks like it’s going to be a blast and I liked the other two. Thought a positive post and being appreciative of the events was in order.

Think they said 10:00 AM PST is when the ship will be in the Grove tomorrow.

Just reporting a bug I encountered. When the quest asks you to go talk to Mira it would never advance me through the next part of the chain. She just stood there and the soldiers behind her just moved from left to right. I left the instance and restarted it, happened again. Tried it again the other day and it worked just fine. Don’t know if it’s isolated but thought it worth a post.

Much like the Halloween event is there going to be any achievements with a meta and title as well?

I have full explored 3 of the starting areas and it seemed like I was leveling slow. I went and did my story missions to get to a zone close to my level. If you stay in zones around your level you will level up super quick. Instead of 25-30 exp for finding a waypoint you get 500 etc. It’s all about how you play though. I am only a 42 and I have about 30 hours clocked that’s super casual play over the last month. Just exploring the world of Tyria and enjoying the ride.

I see each day has a start time of 3:00 PM EST time for me. On November 16th and 17th are the special events reoccurring? I can be on Sunday no problem for the one time event thing but Friday and Saturday I normally don’t play games until 10:00-11:00 EST time. Also I was able to do the Mad King stuff being only a level 15-20 for most of the event. I’m sitting on 40 now hoping it’s the same for Lost Shores that my level won’t hinder participation. I am sure this has been asked several times I did a quick search before I posted this and didn’t find anything.

Well I went into a higher level zone to get the final page for Act 1 and I got one shotted a few times but was able to make it once I found some higher level players and stuck with them. Didn’t know if there was going to be an Instance or something with a level requirement for this event.

I just recently bought this game and haven’t had a whole lot of time to play it but I am loving what I have played. Logged in last night and with the help of the community on Stormbluff Isle I was able to finish up Act 1 of the Halloween quests by finding the pages and getting the book. (I am level 12). I searched the forums and didn’t see a thread on the first search page for this but is my level going to be too low to finish all the acts for this event or will I be ok with community help?
